Hi people! Here's the late pride month drawing I promised! Sorry for not posting much recently, I had to basically redo my entire room from scratch and it wasn't easy. I'm writing this currently surrounded by piles of stuff, but since I enjoy making art sm I managed to squeeze out this piece before june ends. It's def not perfect but it came together a lot faster than I expected and I enjoyed it quite a lot. Hope y'all enjoy it too! Let's all celebrate love in all its shapes and sizes!

Warnings: MINOR ACROSS THE SPIDER-VERSE SPOILERS, super short and half assed story, definitely some cussing, a parallel to Spider-Man homecoming is thrown in there somewhere, reader trips and falls, secondhand embarrassment, a little Hobie slander, reader doesn’t know Miles and Gwen are spider-people, reader doesn’t know Gwen is Gwen and not Gwanda. Let me know if I forgot anything!

You had followed your cousin Miles to his room after your Uncle Jeff and Aunt Rio grounded him. Something fishy had been going on with him lately, and none of his friends knew enough or wanted to tell you what was going on.

“Miles!” You whisper yelled, following behind him.

He walked into his room and slammed the door in your face. You paused to regroup yourself, staring at the closed door before going to open it when it closed in your face without miles even getting up.

This happened about four times before you cussed and kicked the door open, walking in and falling over a few cards at the door.

“The fuck is wrong with you, Miles?” You ask him, casually walking towards his desk chair like you hadn’t fallen in front of him. “Something has definitely been up with you lately.”

“Absolutely nothing has been going on lately.”

“You’re lying.

“No I’m not.”

“You are, and you’re terrible at it.” You say sassily, “What are you hiding, Miles?”

Miles’ eyes dart around the room and you chuckle, “Just kidding, I don’t care.”

You and Miles sit in silence for a while with him listening to music and you playing with random items at his desk. Then suddenly, the room starts shaking.

“OHHHH SHIT!” You yell, clutching onto the spinning chair that you’re sitting on that starts to levitate as a large portal opens up directly over your cousin.

You yell for him, but to no avail. Whatever he’s listening to is obviously too loud for him to hear you, and you continue to watch him float up and up, towards the colorful portal. You then hear a familiar voice call for him, and he finally opens his eyes and removes his headphones, smiling happily.

Just then, Gwen steps out of the portal and everything falls back to the floor, you and the chair included. She takes her eyes off of Miles and looks at you, blushing a deep crimson.

“Y/n,” she starts, dragging out your name, “I, uh… didn’t see you there.”

“Um,” you mutter, sitting up from the floor and dusting yourself off. “Hey, Gwanda. How are you?”

“I’m…um,” she rubs the back of her neck nervously, “Great. Nice weather you have here.”

“Mhm,” you nod, looking down on the floor.

And poor Miles, he purses his lips uncomfortably before standing up and eyeing the two of you, leaving his room and closing the door behind him.

When you first met Gwen Gwanda, it was about a year and four months ago. She had formed a closer relationship with your cousin, but you and her had bonded on a deeper level. The two of you shared a kiss one night, and days later she was gone. The relationship had never been defined, so it’s only normal that things are so awkward considering where you left off.

“How has life been treating you?” She asks, messing with Miles’ pink plushie that rests on his bed.

“Cool, I guess.” You respond, fiddling with a random pencil.

“Meet any new people?” She asks you, hoping that your answer is a variant of no.

You clear your throat. “A few.”

She sounds dejected. “Oh.”

“No one in a romantic sense though.” You clarify, noticing the disappointment in her voice. “If that’s what you were wondering.”

“Oh.” She nods. “Cool.”

“How about you?” You ask, just as nervous as she was seconds ago. “Anyone new?”

She smiles. “Yeah. This one guy, Hobie.”

“Hobie?” You make a stank face. “Do his people hate him or something?”

She chuckled and waves her hands around frantically.“No, no. Hobie is just a nickname.”

You raise an eyebrow. “What’s his real name?”

“Hobart.”

“Bro that’s no better.”

Gwen chuckles. “Anyway, Hobie is just a friend.”

You raise an eyebrow.

“No, really!” She tells you, laughing at your expression. “An older brother figure, if you will.”

You chuckle. “Okay. I trust you.”

After all the laughter dies down, she looks at you, bringing back the tension that left earlier.

“I’m sorry to leave the way I did.”

“I’m sure there’s a valid explanation for it though, right?”

“Well,” She bites her lip. “It’s complicated, I guess.”

“Oh…”

“I can show you? If you’ll let me.”

“My auntie said I have to babysit that little dweeb out there.” You tell her, gesturing toward the door.

“Hey!” Miles yells on the other side of it, proving that he was listening in on your conversation.

“Just for a second!” Gwen begs, “Please?”

You ponder over it for a bit, mulling over the pros and cons and deciding that Miles can watch himself and not get into too much trouble. “Okay.”

Next thing you know, you’re swinging around the city, tightly hooked onto the side of the girl you could only wish you were dating. After a few minutes, she landed you both onto the Williamsburg bank building and told you what she could about her double life.

“Does it all make sense now?” She asks you, a bit nervous for your response.

“Yeah, I think I get it now.” You respond, looking out into the distance. “Why didn’t you tell me?”

“I couldn’t.” She informs you, “You would’ve been in danger.”

You sigh. “Yeah, I guess so.”

“So, can we start over?” She asks hopefully.

You smile and reach your hand out towards her. “Hi, I’m Y/n.”

She smiles back and places her hand in yours. “Nice to meet you, Y/n. I’m Gwen.”

“Wait a damn minute,” you pause, not being able to recall Gwanda ever telling you that she was actually Gwen, “Who the fuck is Gwen?”
