Writing thing ft Martyn this time :3c

"Maaarrtyyyn!" Scott called for the resident of the cave he's stumbled into. He shakes himself of any snow he might've collected walking to the entrance of the cave and stomps his shoes off.

"Scoooott!" Martyn parrots, popping around a corner from down a tunnel. He smiles as he approaches Scott, only to grow a little concerned when he gets closer.

Scott looks like he'd been crying. "Hey," Martyn greets gently. "What's up, you all good?"

Scott sighs and shallowly shakes his head. Messy teal hair sways and fixes itself just a bit with the motion. "Not really. Can we talk?"

Martyn shifts in place and stiffens up. "Yeah sure. Uh," He looks towards the mouth of the cave. "Come with me, somewhere warmer. More private."

Martyn takes Scott to the back of the same tunnel he appeared from. There's a small dug out room with a wall of furnaces, a bed, and a single crafting table. Scott sits on the bed while Martyn loads a bit of iron and some coal into a furnace. He'd probably been mining when Scott came.

"What's on your mind?" Martyn smiles and sits next to Scott.

"It's Sparrow." Scott starts. The way he spits the human's name makes Martyn feels like there's already beef between the two. So he refrains from joking about Scott having a crush on the lad.

"What'd he do, starling?" Martyn mumbles, scooting closer to Scott just so their shoulders touch. Dusty fleece against bare skin.

"He-" Scott seems to choke on his own tongue as he pieces his words together. "He thinks we're all fucking lab rats, Martyn. That's what we are to him. Subjects in his stupid- arh!" Scott groans and drops his head in his hands. He's quickly getting angry all over again.

"Hey, hey," Martyn places a mitten covered hand on the back of Scott's neck. It's just resting there as his fellow hybrid is hunched over, trying the breath himself through anger. "A-Are you sure you're not just reading into things?"

"No, Martyn!" Scott shoots up and turns to look at the blond next to him. "They said it themself! We're- We're not people to them we're fucking research!" Scott sniffles at the end of his sentence. He doesn't mean to sound mad at Martyn, and he hopes Martyn doesn't think he is.

"Oh." Martyn looks at his lap and retracts his hand. He... doesn't know what to think. Sparrow seemed so nice when Martyn talked to him, but if Scott is saying such things with such certainty, such conviction then...

"Man, I'm sorry. That's awful." Martyn says simply.

"I know!" Scott says. "We're just people! So what we got a few powers we're still real beings! With thoughts and- and feelings and-" Scott hiccups and tears start streaming down his face.

Martyn jumps to wrap an arm around Scott's waist. "Hey, hey, why are you crying? Are you ok? Wanna take a little breather?"

Scott sniffles and nods, to all of it. "I'm sorry," he croaks and dabs at his eyes with his scarf. "I just get so mad and..."

"Nah, you're ok. You have every right to be angry, what they said was fucked up and you were so strong for not killing them on the spot. I would have." Martyn comforts. Scott nods along and does little breathing exercises while Martyn rests he head on Scott's shoulder.

The coldness of Martyn's body is a stark contrast to Sausage's warmth. It's shocking, grounding. It reminds Scott that he's not just in his own head about this.

"I wish we could get it through his head that we're just like him, and not something to be put under a bloody microscope." Scott keeps his voice to a low rumble. It's still dripping with the venom he entered with but he's not bubbling and erupting like before.

"I'm sure we can. They've never been around people like us before, so they're probably just a bit misguided, yeah?" Scott sniffs back but doesn't say anything.

Martyn frowns. Worrying he might've said something wrong he dips down and headbutts Scott's shoulder affectionately. Like how his Colins would when they wanted treats.

Scott peers over and can't help giggling at Martyn's big blue eyes filled to the brim with worry. He leans down and gently bonks his head against Martyn's to show he's not as mad anymore, and certainly not at Martyn.

"I can kill him if you want. Or burn his tent down." Martyn says back, voice low and soft. The furnace he set had run out but the heat it created still clung to the air.

Scott actually barks a laugh and sits upright. "Oh my Gods," he laughs. "You're the second person to offer me that today. What is with people and wanting to murder for me." Scott rolls his eyes jokingly and a smile makes its return to his face. Right where it belongs.

Martyn shrugs. "Have you considered you're worth killing for?"

Scott blushes, absolutely burns red, and hides his face away in his tear soaked scarf. "I- No I don't think so."

"Well I do. And I will if you just give me the word." Martyn says it like a promise. Scott knows it is.

"You know what, I'll just keep it in mind. There's no need right now." He pats and covers Martyn's mitten covered hand with his own. Martyn feels the body heat seep through the thick cloth the longer it lingers.

"As you wish then."

Some bonus headcanons

Ranboo was found by Lizzie thinking he was just some weird looking cat.

Tommy and Tubbo are childhood friends and would regularly visit each other’s empire.

There are quite a few people that aren’t from their empire, Eg; Techno, Phil, Skephalo Family, Tango, all of Olipoligo and so on.

No matter what season of empires it is, Grian will always be stuck in Jimmy’s empire. Probably a second in command of sorts.

I saw a headcanon for Jack that he was Scott’s assistant back in season 1 so I think that carries over to season 2.

Residents of Olipoligo travel a lot and it’s not a permanent residence for any of them, especially the musicians.

Dream, Sapnap and George are childhood friends and regularly play manhunt together. Bad joined after some property damage was caused. Ant and Sam also joined not long after.

Scar is a bandit and usually sweet talks his way out of an arrest.

Hbomb is not an actual cat, it’s a reverse Lizzie situation.

Doc and Techno are rivals in regards to gardening. Please stop fighting over tomatoes and potatoes, the empire needs rebuilding.

Owen is tasked to look after the llamas. Most definitely had his drink spit in by the tavern llama.

Eret helps Pix with documents in the museum. They seem to know more about the area then they let on. How old is she again??

Slime has definitely been around since season 1.

The people of Stratos are stuck on the ground, then there’s Phil and Joe who jump scares Joel by chilling in the temples. It make sense with Phil because bird but how did Joe get up there???

I feel like Cleo could of come from season 1 and died from the giant explosion.
