An End to Idolatry
1 In that day there shall be a fountain opened to the house of David and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem for sin and for uncleanness.
2 And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the LORD of hosts, that I will cut off the names of the idols out of the land, and they shall no more be remembered: and also I will cause the prophets and the unclean spirit to pass out of the land. 3 And it shall come to pass, that when any shall yet prophesy, then his father and his mother that begat him shall say unto him, Thou shalt not live; for thou speakest lies in the name of the LORD: and his father and his mother that begat him shall thrust him through when he prophesieth. 4 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the prophets shall be ashamed every one of his vision, when he hath prophesied; neither shall they wear a rough garment to deceive: 5 But he shall say, I am no prophet, I am an husbandman; for man taught me to keep cattle from my youth. 6 And one shall say unto him, What are these wounds in thine hands? Then he shall answer, Those with which I was wounded in the house of my friends.
The Shepherd Struck, Sheep Scattered
7 Awake, O sword, against my shepherd, and against the man that is my fellow, saith the LORD of hosts: smite the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered: and I will turn mine hand upon the little ones.
8 And it shall come to pass, that in all the land, saith the LORD, two parts therein shall be cut off and die; but the third shall be left therein.
9 And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people: and they shall say, The LORD is my God. — Zechariah 13 | King James Version (KJV) The King James Version Bible is in the public domain. Did Jesus and his earliest followers believe that he would return during their lifetime ? Part 1/2.
A study of Mark 9:1, Mark 13:30, and Matthew 10:23
Certain people, usually sceptics, claim that Jesus appeared to have stated in three different bible verses that his second coming would take place before all his first followers had died.
The main passages they cite are Mark 9:1, 13:30, and Matthew 10:23.
If the sceptics claim is true, then it has big implications for the internal consistency of the bible. If Jesus predicted such a thing and it did not happen, then Jesus’ words could be considered unreliable and therefore a significant part of the New Testament canon could be proven to be untrustworthy.
Much has been written about this apparent dilemma however the best studies[1] are able to offer reasonable alternative explanations for all three of these verses after close study.
Mark 9:1: KJV [2] In anticipation of the Transfiguration
And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That there be some of them that stand here, which shall not taste of death, till they have seen the kingdom of God come with power.
This verse is leading up to the transfiguration, which Jesus’s disciples, Peter, James, and John are about to witness, so Mark is thinking along those lines. The fact that the transfiguration occurs six days later suggests this promise seems to confirm this interpretation, as does Peter’s description of the transfiguration[3].
Mark 13:30: Predicting Jerusalem’s Destruction
Verily I say unto you, that this generation shall not pass, till all these things be done.
“These things” refers to what he has just been describing, and in verses 24–27 where Jesus has described his own return to earth. Again, Jesus speaks of “these things happening” in verse 29 as a hint to recognizing that his return is near. This would have Jesus saying something like this, “Once you see I have returned, know that I am near.” This does not make sense.
“These things” in verses 29–30 must surely refer to the events described in verses 5–23, all of which can be understood to have been at least provisionally fulfilled in the years between Jesus’s death (AD 30) and the destruction of the temple in AD 70— or you could say a 40-year period, or a biblical generation.
Matthew 10:23: Interrupting the disciples’ short-term mission to Israel?
But when they persecute you in this city, flee ye into another: for verily I say unto you, Ye shall not have gone over the cities of Israel, till the Son of man be come.
This is the most difficult of the three verses to interpret. In verses 5–42, Jesus is teaching the disciples about what to expect as they travel around Israel trying to replicate Jesus’ ministry of preaching, teaching, and healing.
Does Jesus think his second coming will happen within a matter of weeks or months?
Sceptical people assert that Jesus appears to think that his second advent will happen within a matter of weeks or months. Could it be possible that Jesus could be killed and resurrected, go away into heaven, and then return, all during the comparatively brief period that the apostles are on the road proclaiming the Gospel of the Kingdom within Israel? This seems highly unlikely. If it were not for the other two passages we discussed, this idea might never have even occurred to anyone. But what then does Jesus mean?
Jesus meant he would meet up with his disciples again somewhere before they had completed their mission. By applying Occam’s razor, this would be the simplest answer. Jesus often styled himself as the “Son of Man,” instead of saying ‘I’ as is also the case in Matthew 8:20. Every other time Jesus speaks of the ‘Son of Man’ coming, he refers to his return in glory (in Matthew’s Gospel alone, see 16:27, 28; 24:27, 30, 37, 39, 44; 25:31; 26:64).
However the ‘Son of Man’ will return in glory makes the “meeting up with the apostles before their mission trip was over” interpretation unlikely, together with various other interpretations. For example, some have suggested that the coming of the Son of Man could refer to Jesus’s resurrection, to his sending of the Spirit at Pentecost, or to his coming in judgment against Israel with the destruction of Jerusalem in AD 70. Sometimes interpreters have tried to strengthen their case for one of these by reinterpreting one or more of the other occurrences of the Son of Man’s coming in Matthew in the same way.
In Part 2 we consider an alternative explanation to these passages.

The Truth About Hell
Did you know that the concept of "Hell" as we know it today is not found in the original Biblical manuscripts? This powerful revelation is backed by scholarly evidence, uncovering how ancient texts and translations have shaped our modern understanding.
Original Biblical Terms:
Hebrew "Sheol" (שְׁאוֹל): This term simply meant "the grave" or "realm of the dead." It was a neutral place where all the dead went, not a place of punishment. The Old Testament portrays Sheol as a shadowy existence rather than a place of eternal torment (e.g., Genesis 37:35, Job 14:13).
Greek "Hades" (ᾍδης): This term, used in the New Testament, also refers to the realm of the dead. Similar to Sheol, it is not necessarily a place of punishment but rather a holding place for the dead. For instance, in Acts 2:27, Hades is used in a context similar to Sheol.
Greek "Gehenna" (γέεννα): This term is often associated with a place of future punishment, but it originally referred to the Valley of Hinnom, a location outside Jerusalem where trash was burned. Over time, it became a symbol for destruction and judgment (e.g., Mark 9:43-48).
Greek "Tartarus" (ταρταρόω): This term, found in 2 Peter 2:4, refers to a deep abyss used as a dungeon of torment and suffering for the wicked. However, it is used only once in the New Testament and is borrowed from Greek mythology.
Pagan Origins:
The term "Hell" comes from Old English "hel," related to the Norse goddess Hel and her underworld. This Norse mythology is entirely unrelated to the Hebrew and Greek terms in the Bible. The concept of a fiery, torturous hell more closely aligns with the pagan ideas of an underworld rather than the original biblical descriptions.
Translator Introduction:
The King James Version (1611) was the first to widely use "hell" to translate multiple distinct terms. This translation choice conflated different concepts and led to altered interpretations of afterlife concepts. For example, "Sheol," "Hades," and "Gehenna" were all translated as "hell," despite their distinct meanings.
Inconsistent Translations:
The KJV inconsistently translates "Sheol" as "hell," "grave," and "pit," revealing translator bias rather than textual accuracy. This inconsistency can be seen in verses like Psalm 16:10 and Isaiah 14:15, where "Sheol" is translated differently, impacting the theological understanding of the text.
Absence of Eternal Punishment in the Old Testament:
Everlasting torment is not found in Hebrew Scriptures. Sheol is depicted as a place of silence and inactivity, not eternal suffering. For instance, Psalm 115:17 states, "The dead do not praise the Lord, nor do any who go down into silence." Ecclesiastes 9:10 reinforces this view: "Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might, for there is no work or thought or knowledge or wisdom in Sheol, to which you are going."
Historical Context:
Hell concepts evolved in late antiquity, influenced by Greco-Roman ideas. By the Middle Ages, these beliefs had significantly impacted Christian theology. The early Christian concept of an eternal hell was shaped by a combination of Jewish apocalyptic literature, Greco-Roman mythology, and early Christian writings, such as the works of Augustine.
This compelling evidence demonstrates that the common understanding of "hell" was introduced by translators and influenced by pagan mythology, not rooted in the original biblical texts.
Relevant Verses:
1 Timothy 4:1
Now the Spirit explicitly says that in later times some will depart from the faith, paying attention to deceitful spirits and the teachings of demons,
Proverbs 30:6
Don't add to his words, or he will rebuke you, and you will be proved a liar.
Revelation 22:18-19 CSB
I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this book. [19] And if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away his share of the tree of life and the holy city, which are written about in this book.
2 Peter 3:16 CSB
He speaks about these things in all his letters. There are some things hard to understand in them. The untaught and unstable will twist them to their own destruction, as they also do with the rest of the Scriptures.

Daily Devotionals for June 22, 2024
Proverbs: God's Wisdom for Daily Living
Devotional Scripture:
Proverbs 19:15-16(KJV): 15 Slothfulness casteth into a deep sleep; and an idle soul shall suffer hunger. 16 He that keepeth the commandment keepeth his own soul; but he that despiseth his ways shall die. Proverbs 19:15-16(NIV): 15 Laziness brings on deep sleep, and the shiftless man goes hungry. 16 He who obeys instructions guards his soul, but he who is contemptuous of his ways will die.
Thought for the Day
Verse 15 - The Bible speaks of the fate of those who are lazy and idle. They can end up with no money to buy food and will go hungry. These scriptures also state that those who break the commandments and refuse instruction will die prematurely. As parents, we must instill good work habits in our children while they are young so they do not become lazy and slothful. Many of the younger generation were not taught proper work habits and now have difficulty in holding a job. Slothfulness, shoddy workmanship and disorganization reflect a lack of caring. Many people take short cuts that hamper the quality of the job, just to finish the task so they can eliminate any problems of the moment. Later the job must be repeated which wastes time because the job was not done right the first time. Children's messy rooms are a symptom of how a generation of parents has neglected to teach their children this truth while they were growing up. Many of today's children are taught to "play" instead of taught to work. The older generation has failed them by giving them an overabundance of toys, games, play times, and entertainment. Well-meaning parents have created a generation of extreme party and super vacation lovers. Certainly times of resting and relaxation are in order but they must be balanced with work.
Verse 16 - We take action upon whatever is important to us. Being slow to obey God's Word means our ways are more important to us than His. Choosing God's way or our way is a matter of fulfillment or frustration; blessing or cursing; life or death. Embracing deception makes us spiritually sleepy. When our spirits slumber, our lives become dreamlike; distorted shadows instead of clear reflections of reality. Just as we are unaware of what happens around us when we are physically sleeping, we become increasingly insensible to the enemy's tactics and lies when spiritually sleepy. If we do not get up and get active (repent and apply God's Word to our lives), we will soon be slumbering spiritually. We will be out of God's will and our hearts will grow cold toward Him. Either the spiritual or physical condition is dangerous, especially in such days as ours, when deception is multiplied. We must not be slothful, but diligent to respond to the Holy Spirit's promptings (1 Thessalonians 5:4-6, Mark 13:33-37). Just as those who are lazy and refuse to work will not have money to buy food, we will suffer spiritual malnutrition and frustration if we are slow to obey God's Word. As God's children, we need to be careful to avoid an undisciplined lifestyle. If we do not learn to obey the Word of God early, it will lead to some form of death, possibly even a premature physical death.
Prayer Devotional for the Day
Dear Father, thank you for giving us work to do. A good occupation brings satisfaction to our lives when we are faithful to do a good days work. Lord, help this generation to be diligent workers and deliver us all from sloth. Help us teach our children how to be good workers too. Deliver us from the sin of laziness. Also, Lord, keep us from the opposite sin, the sin of being a workaholic. May we be balanced in our work and play. I ask this in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

Here are some abbreviated notes on my study of the Firmament.
The second thing God created was the Firmament and He Divided the waters which were under the Firmament from the waters which were above the Firmament (Gen 1:7 KJV) Peter confirms this when he said “Heaven” and earth were formed long ago, out of water and by water (2Pe 3:5 CEB). And then God called the Firmament Heaven (Gen 1:8 KJV). Al words with “quotation marks” is the Firmament.
The Firmament must be located somewhere specific, because By His understanding, He set the “Heavens” in place (Pro 3:19 ISV) God also says That I may plant the “Heavens” and lay earth's foundations (Isa 51:16 KJV) Being fixed onto the earth it would make much more sense when The pillars of “Heaven" tremble (Job 36:11 CPDV)
The Firmament declares the work of His hands (Psa 19:1 DRC) God created it and He is referred to as The Magnificent One of the Firmament (Deu 33:26 LXX) Strong's H7549 says that the firmament is solid. It would have to be, in order to support all the water above it, wouldn't you say? And so we read When He made firm the “sky" above (Pro 8:28 CPDV) and Praise Him in the “sky", His stronghold (Psa 150:1 TANAKH) and again The “sky" is as strong as a molten looking glass (Job 37:18 KJV) Please tell me reader, can sky or air be strong?
What did the psalmist refer to when he said: And you, waters, that are above the “heavens" (Psa 148:4 KJV) The flood story records The floodgates of “heaven" were opened (Gen 7:11 ISV) and The windows of “heaven" were closed (Gen 8:2 ESV). ‘Oh, it is just a figure of speech’ they say. God said: I will rain down bread from “heaven" for you (Exo 16:4 BSB) The psalmist confirms He opened the doors of “heaven" and rained manna upon them (Psa 78: 23 DRC) Deborah's victory song also says that The “heavens" rained, the clouds also, dropped water (Jdg 5:4 Geneva)
Other words describing the firmament are Let the birds fly across the face of the vaulted dome in heaven (Gen 1:20 LEB) The Lord is also seen roaming the heavens above. He goes about on the vaulted heavens (Job 22-14 NIV) and To Him who rides across the highest heaven, the ancient heavens (Psa 68:33 NIV)
It should be apparent, that the Firmament can be opened at times. Let's look at some. Peter had a vision: He saw “heavens" open and a vessel coming down to him (Act 10:11 COVERDALE) and similar to Jacob's dream You shall see “heaven" open and the angels of God descending and ascending. (Joh 1:31 NET) Then there are special occasions, like the Baptism of Jesus. Lo! The “heavens" were opened unto Him (Mat 3 :16 KJV) A voice came out of “heavens" saying: “This is My Son, the Beloved, in whom I am well pleased" (Mat 3:17 EMTV) Isaiah clearly knew that it was possible, when he said Oh, that You would rend the “heavens" and come down (Isa 64:1 NIV) also in the following He parted the “heavens" and came down (Psa 18:9 NIV) And so we see here He passes through the circle of heaven (Job 22:14 LXX)
Fire is also said to come out of the “Heavens". Let's look at some. Brimstone and fire from the Lord, out of “heaven" (Gen 19:24 TYNDALE) and the leader with his 50 men. Fire came down from “heaven" and burned them up (2Ki 1:10 GW) In the end times, wonders will be shown In heaven, to deceive us. He even makes fire come down from heaven, on the earth, before men (Rev 13:13 EMTV) and finally On that Day, fire will destroy the “heavens" (2 Pe 3:12 NIRV) The firmament above the earth, as we know it, will be destroyed because We are looking forward to new “heavens" and a new earth. (2Pe 3:13 ISV)
Where is the firmament? Does it have limits? One thing is for sure, it is above us. All things that are done under “heavens" (Ecc 1:13 GREAT) The firmament has bounds. If ye should be scattered under the utmost bound of “heaven" (Neh 1:9 LXX) All things are under the firmament. For He beholds the ends of the world and looketh on all things under “heaven" (Job 28:24 DRC) It has two distinct ends. From one end of “heaven" to the other end of “heaven" (Deu 4:22 DARBY) and also So that all the hye hills, which are under all parts of “heaven" (Gen 7:19 MATTHEW)
There are verses that show the fact that our firmament has an expiration date. God's heaven, on the other hand, where His throne is, will last forever. A dead man shall certainly not rise again, till the “heavens" be dissolved (Job 14:12 LXX) and I will establish his throne, as long as “heaven” endures (Psa 89:29 ISV) and again As long has “heaven" is suspended above the earth (Deu 11:21 CPDV)
When the end is near, Amos says Even if they climb up to “heaven", I will bring them down (Amo 9:2 GNT) this is reminiscent of the Tower of Babel Let us build ourselves a city and a tower, whose top is in the “heavens" (Gen 11:4 NET)
Jesus indeed was Made higher than the “heavens" (Heb 7:26 WEB) For the Lord himself will descend from “heaven” (1Th 4:16 HNV) He is coming in the clouds, and every eye will see Him (Rev 1:7 WMTH) And thenThe “heaven" departed as a scroll, when it is rolled together (Rev 6:4 KJV) The end of our firmament.
I always wondered what is meant by these verses, but now, knowing there is a firmament that is also called heaven, it starts to make more sense. Lo! Heaven is of thy Lord God, and “heaven" of heaven, the earth and all things therein (Deu 10:14 WYCLIFFE MODERN) speaking of being contained in the firmament The heavens and the “heaven" of heavens can not contain you (1Ki 8:27 KJV)
Is there more than one “heaven"? Such an one, being caught away unto the third heaven (2 Co 12:2 YLT) In the end however, we will never be able to fully comprehend God's creation. Knewest thou the laws of the heavens? (Job 38:33 SLT) and perhaps know why the firmament is there in the first place. Who schal telle out the resoun of “heavens" (Job 38:37 WYCLIFFE)
I found these three interesting uses of the word Firmament, and it is used in no other translation like this. The Lord is a Firmament to those who fear Him (Psa 25:14 CPDV) and He went before me, and the Lord became my Firmament (2Sa 22:19 CPDV) Be a God of protection and a place of strength for me, so that you can accomplish my salvation. For You are my Firmament and Refuge. (Psa 71:3 CPDV)
We also see other visions of God, His throne and the firmament, which resembles a firmament over earth. Moses saw Under His feet, a work of sapphire slabs, like the Firmament of heaven in it's purity (Exo 24:10 LXX) Ezekiel saw the same kind of vision: “Heavens" were opened, and I saw visions of God (Eze 1:1 KJV) with living creatures A Firmament, like an awesome crystal, stretched out over their heads above (Eze 1:22 HNV) Under the Firmament, their wings were straight (Eze 1:23 AFV+) A voice came from above the dome (Eze 1:25 GW) Above the dome was something that resembled a huge throne (Eze 1:26 UDB) does this not remind you of Jesus' baptism?
And so finally, where exactly is God in all of this. Near or far. And I am not talking spiritually, I am talking actually. Let the Bible explain: The Lord, His throne is in heaven (Psa 11:14 TENAKH) God lives high up in the heavens. From there He looks down on the highest stars (Job 22:12 UDB) again The Lord looks down from the heavens upon humanity (Psa 14:2 ISV)
Many times God is depicted as reaching down. He reached down from on high and took hold of me. He drew me out of deep waters. (Psa 18:16 NIV) Isaiah gives us a glimpse of how far God actually is. God is enthroned above the earth, and those who live on it are like grasshoppers. He stretches out the “sky" like a canopy and spreads it out like a tent to live in. (Isa 40:22 GW) There is a reason He made the firmament. God is the One who formed and made the earth. God is the One who established it. He did not create it for chaos, but formed it to be inhabited (Isa 45:18 ISV) Establishing something means to make it firm or make it strong.
But ultimately, I will let God's own words set the record straight.
The heavens are My throne and the earth is My footstool (Isa 66:1 EBR) Speaking about the Israelites, God said: Like one who lifts a child to the cheek, I bent down to feed them (Hos 11:4 NIV) Through Jeremiah, God made it abundantly clear: ‘Do you not realize that I am a God close by’, says the Lord, ‘and not a God far away?’ (Jer 23:23 CPDV)

Mark 13:1-37 (KJV)
1 And as he went out of the temple, one of his disciples saith unto him, Master, see what manner of stones and what buildings [are here]!
2 And Jesus answering said unto him, Seest thou these great buildings? there shall not be left one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.
3 And as he sat upon the mount of Olives over against the temple, Peter and James and John and Andrew asked him privately,
4 Tell us, when shall these things be? and what [shall be] the sign when all these things shall be fulfilled?
5 And Jesus answering them began to say, Take heed lest any [man] deceive you:
6 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am [Christ]; and shall deceive many.
7 And when ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars, be ye not troubled: for [such things] must needs be; but the end [shall] not [be] yet.
8 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be earthquakes in divers places, and there shall be famines and troubles: these [are] the beginnings of sorrows.
9 But take heed to yourselves: for they shall deliver you up to councils; and in the synagogues ye shall be beaten: and ye shall be brought before rulers and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them.
10 And the gospel must first be published among all nations.
11 But when they shall lead [you], and deliver you up, take no thought beforehand what ye shall speak, neither do ye premeditate: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye: for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Ghost.
12 Now the brother shall betray the brother to death, and the father the son; and children shall rise up against [their] parents, and shall cause them to be put to death.
13 And ye shall be hated of all [men] for my name's sake: but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
14 But when ye shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, (let him that readeth understand,) then let them that be in Judaea flee to the mountains:
15 And let him that is on the housetop not go down into the house, neither enter [therein], to take any thing out of his house:
16 And let him that is in the field not turn back again for to take up his garment.
17 But woe to them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!
18 And pray ye that your flight be not in the winter.
19 For [in] those days shall be affliction, such as was not from the beginning of the creation which God created unto this time, neither shall be.
20 And except that the Lord had shortened those days, no flesh should be saved: but for the elect's sake, whom he hath chosen, he hath shortened the days.
21 And then if any man shall say to you, Lo, here [is] Christ; or, lo, [he is] there; believe [him] not:
22 For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if [it were] possible, even the elect.
23 But take ye heed: behold, I have foretold you all things.
24 But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light,
25 And the stars of heaven shall fall, and the powers that are in heaven shall be shaken.
26 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory.
27 And then shall he send his angels, and shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost part of heaven.
28 Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When her branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is near:
29 So ye in like manner, when ye shall see these things come to pass, know that it is nigh, [even] at the doors.
30 Verily I say unto you, that this generation shall not pass, till all these things be done.
31 Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.
32 But of that day and [that] hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father.
33 Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is.
34 [For the Son of man is] as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch.
35 Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning:
36 Lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping.
37 And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch.

Nothing That Comes Against You Will Succeed
May 19 2021 Wednesday
Nothing That Comes Against You Will Succeed
Ephesians 1:15-23 NLT
'Ever since I first heard of your strong faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for God’s people everywhere, I have not stopped thanking God for you. I pray for you constantly, asking God, the glorious Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, to give you spiritual wisdom and insight so that you might grow in your knowledge of God. I pray that your hearts will be flooded with light so that you can understand the confident hope he has given to those he called—his holy people who are his rich and glorious inheritance. I also pray that you will understand the incredible greatness of God’s power for us who believe him. This is the same mighty power that raised Christ from the dead and seated him in the place of honor at God’s right hand in the heavenly realms. Now he is far above any ruler or authority or power or leader or anything else—not only in this world but also in the world to come. God has put all things under the authority of Christ and has made him head over all things for the benefit of the church. And the church is his body; it is made full and complete by Christ, who fills all things everywhere with himself.’
Ephesians 3:14-21 NLT
'When I think of all this, I fall to my knees and pray to the Father, the Creator of everything in heaven and on earth. I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God. Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think. Glory to him in the church and in Christ Jesus through all generations forever and ever! Amen.'

The LORD Judges the Nations
1 For, behold, in those days, and in that time, when I shall bring again the captivity of Judah and Jerusalem,
2 I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat, and will plead with them there for my people and for my heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and parted my land.
3 And they have cast lots for my people; and have given a boy for an harlot, and sold a girl for wine, that they might drink.
4 Yea, and what have ye to do with me, O Tyre, and Zidon, and all the coasts of Palestine? will ye render me a recompence? and if ye recompense me, swiftly and speedily will I return your recompence upon your own head;
5 Because ye have taken my silver and my gold, and have carried into your temples my goodly pleasant things:
6 The children also of Judah and the children of Jerusalem have ye sold unto the Grecians, that ye might remove them far from their border.
7 Behold, I will raise them out of the place whither ye have sold them, and will return your recompence upon your own head:
8 And I will sell your sons and your daughters into the hand of the children of Judah, and they shall sell them to the Sabeans, to a people far off: for the Lord hath spoken it.
9 Proclaim ye this among the Gentiles; Prepare war, wake up the mighty men, let all the men of war draw near; let them come up:
10 Beat your plowshares into swords and your pruninghooks into spears: let the weak say, I am strong.
11 Assemble yourselves, and come, all ye heathen, and gather yourselves together round about: thither cause thy mighty ones to come down, O Lord.
12 Let the heathen be wakened, and come up to the valley of Jehoshaphat: for there will I sit to judge all the heathen round about.
13 Put ye in the sickle, for the harvest is ripe: come, get you down; for the press is full, the fats overflow; for their wickedness is great.
14 Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision: for the day of the Lord is near in the valley of decision.
15 The sun and the moon shall be darkened, and the stars shall withdraw their shining.
16 The Lord also shall roar out of Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the heavens and the earth shall shake: but the Lord will be the hope of his people, and the strength of the children of Israel.
17 So shall ye know that I am the Lord your God dwelling in Zion, my holy mountain: then shall Jerusalem be holy, and there shall no strangers pass through her any more.
18 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the mountains shall drop down new wine, and the hills shall flow with milk, and all the rivers of Judah shall flow with waters, and a fountain shall come forth out of the house of the Lord, and shall water the valley of Shittim.
19 Egypt shall be a desolation, and Edom shall be a desolate wilderness, for the violence against the children of Judah, because they have shed innocent blood in their land.
20 But Judah shall dwell for ever, and Jerusalem from generation to generation.
21 For I will cleanse their blood that I have not cleansed: for the Lord dwelleth in Zion. — Joel 3 | King James Version (KJV) The King James Version Bible is in the public domain. JESUS'S MIGHTY WORKS -- KJV (King James Version) Bible Verse List #Scriptures #BibleStudy #BibleVerses Visit https://www.billkochman.com/VerseLists/ to see more. "Now when John had heard in the prison the works of Christ, he sent two of his disciples, And said unto him, Art thou he that should come, or do we look for another? Jesus answered and said unto them, Go and shew John again those things which ye do hear and see . . . Then began he to upbraid the cities wherein most of his mighty works were done, because they repented not: Woe unto thee, Chorazin! woe unto thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works, which were done in you, had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes. But I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the day of judgment, than for you. And thou, Capernaum, which art exalted unto heaven, shalt be brought down to hell: for if the mighty works, which have been done in thee, had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day. But I say unto you, That it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom in the day of judgment, than for thee." Matthew 11:2-4, 20-24, KJV "And when he was come into his own country, he taught them in their synagogue, insomuch that they were astonished, and said, Whence hath this man this wisdom, and these mighty works? Is not this the carpenter’s son? is not his mother called Mary? and his brethren, James, and Joses, and Simon, and Judas? And his sisters, are they not all with us? Whence then hath this man all these things? And they were offended in him. But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, save in his own country, and in his own house. And he did not many mighty works there because of their unbelief." Matthew 13:54-58, KJV "At that time Herod the tetrarch heard of the fame of Jesus, And said unto his servants, This is John the Baptist; he is risen from the dead; and therefore mighty works do shew forth themselves in him." Matthew 14:1-2, KJV "And when the sabbath day was come, he began to teach in the synagogue: and many hearing him were astonished, saying, From whence hath this man these things? and what wisdom is this which is given unto him, that even such mighty works are wrought by his hands? . . . And king Herod heard of him; (for his name was spread abroad:) and he said, That John the Baptist was risen from the dead, and therefore mighty works do shew forth themselves in him." Mark 6:2, 14, KJV "Woe unto thee, Chorazin! woe unto thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works had been done in Tyre and Sidon, which have been done in you, they had a great while ago repented, sitting in sackcloth and ashes. But it shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the judgment, than for you. And thou, Capernaum, which art exalted to heaven, shalt be thrust down to hell." Luke 10:13-15, KJV "And when he was come nigh, even now at the descent of the mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen; Saying, Blessed be the King that cometh in the name of the Lord: peace in heaven, and glory in the highest." Luke 19:37-38, KJV "Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise. For the Father loveth the Son, and sheweth him all things that himself doeth: and he will shew him greater works than these, that ye may marvel . . . But I have greater witness than that of John: for the works which the Father hath given me to finish, the same works that I do, bear witness of me, that the Father hath sent me." John 5:19-20, 36, KJV "Now the Jews’ feast of tabernacles was at hand. His brethren therefore said unto him, Depart hence, and go into Judæa, that thy disciples also may see the works that thou doest. For there is no man that doeth any thing in secret, and he himself seeketh to be known openly. If thou do these things, shew thyself to the world. For neither did his brethren believe in him." John 7:2-5, KJV "And as Jesus passed by, he saw a man which was blind from his birth. And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind? Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him. I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work." John 9:1-4, KJV "Then came the Jews round about him, and said unto him, How long dost thou make us to doubt? If thou be the Christ, tell us plainly. Jesus answered them, I told you, and ye believed not: the works that I do in my Father’s name, they bear witness of me . . . Jesus answered them, Many good works have I shewed you from my Father; for which of those works do ye stone me? . . . If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not. But if I do, though ye believe not me, believe the works: that ye may know, and believe, that the Father is in me, and I in him." John 10:24-25, 32, 37-38, KJV "Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works. Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works’ sake. Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father." John 14:10-12, KJV "If I had not done among them the works which none other man did, they had not had sin: but now have they both seen and hated both me and my Father." Daily Devotionals for June 22, 2023 Proverbs: God's Wisdom for Daily Living Devotional Scripture:
Proverbs 19:15-16(KJV): 15 Slothfulness casteth into a deep sleep, and an idle soul shall suffer hunger. 16 He that keepeth the commandment keepeth his soul; but he that despiseth his ways shall die.
As parents, we must instill good work habits in our children while they are young so they do not become lazy. Many of the younger generations were not taught proper work habits and now have difficulty holding a job. Slothfulness, shoddy workmanship, and disorganization reflect a lack of caring. Many people take shortcuts that hamper the quality of the job, just to finish the task so they can eliminate any problems of the moment. Later the job must be repeated which wastes time because the job was not done right the first time. Children's messy rooms are a symptom of how a generation of parents has neglected to teach their children this truth while they were growing up. Many of today's children are taught to "play" instead of being taught to work. The older generation has failed them by giving them an overabundance of toys, games, play times, and entertainment. Well-meaning parents have created a generation of extreme party and super vacation lovers. Certainly, times of resting and relaxation are in order but they must be balanced with work.
Either the spiritual or physical condition is dangerous, especially on such days as ours when deception is multiplied.
A good occupation brings satisfaction to our lives when we are faithful to do a good day's work. Amen. From: Steven P. Fast From Wrong Thinking
DAY 36 — A Negative Attitude
Today we’re fasting from a negative attitude.
Attitude IS everything. It is a mindset that takes precedence over all other facts. And I want us to obliterate negativity from our lives. You CAN control whether life is easy or hard, by your attitude. So many people look at things in a negative way, expect negative things to happen, and speak themselves into negative results. They never grow. So…
LET’S CHANGE IT TODAY
1. God is a YES God. 2 Corinthians 1:20—“All the promises of God are YES!” He says YES to everything He has promised. He’s a positive God. And you are made in His image.
2. CAN IT! Success comes in CANS, not in cannots! Philippians 4:13 says, “I CAN do all things through Christ which strengthens me.”
3. Get rid of the NEGATIVE PSYCHIC in you. The “negative psychic” in you presumes you know what people are thinking about you and it’s usually bad. “She thinks I’m an idiot”; “I can tell he’s always judging me” … etc. The only person’s thoughts that matter about you are God’s and THEY ARE GOOD.
4. Stop seeing giants around you. And start seeing the giant in you! Greater is He that is in you. Begin to see yourself conquering everything!
5. Be a thermostat, not a thermometer. A thermostat SETS the temperature. It doesn’t read it. Set the thermostat of your attitude to “ABOVE ONLY” thinking. Deuteronomy 28:13 says, “You will be ABOVE ONLY and not beneath.” The NIV says, “YOU WILL ALWAYS BE AT THE TOP.” Refuse to accept any other way of thinking or living.
6. Make your greatest discovery today! The greatest discovery in life is that you can change your life by changing the attitude of your mind. Jesus said, “If you can believe, all things are possible.”
THINK IT AND SAY IT
My life is getting easier not harder! I focus on the good things God has done in my life. I believe all things are possible! I expect opportunity, promotion, and success to come my way, because I am a believer. I’m above ONLY and not beneath. I am the head and not the tail. My attitude of faith and expectation takes precedence over all other facts . . . beginning today, in Jesus’ Name!
“Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?”
‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭1:20‬ ‭KJV‬‬
“How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them! If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: when I awake, I am still with thee.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭139:17-18‬ ‭KJV‬‬
“And Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and said, Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it.”
‭‭Numbers‬ ‭13:30‬ ‭KJV‬‬
“Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭8:37‬ ‭KJV‬‬
“Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭9:23‬ ‭KJV‬‬
“And the Lord shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath; if that thou hearken unto the commandments of the Lord thy God, which I command thee this day, to observe and to do them:”
‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭28:13‬ ‭KJV‬‬

This is a warning to all people over the earth. God is about to move because of men’s wicked rebellion in sin that is destroying the world. Repent and set your heart fully in God. Don’t misuse God’s grace to do willful or intentional sin. Jesus the Son of God did not die to so you can go back or stay in the sufferings of sin, rather he died so through his help of him working in you, you will be able to overcome sin and strive for a beneficial life with him leading the way. Why do you think all these terrible things are happening in today’s world? It is because men disobey the God’s Law and do their own thing which never ends well because there is no benefit to evil. You wicked Globalist instead of helping the people, you abuse the people.God sees all what you are doing. How can you expect a positive result when all you putting is a negative? It just doesn’t work that way. What you input you get the same output. Evil is deceptive and non- beneficial . You can have all the riches and pleasures of this world and still won’t be unsatisfied. That is because that hole in your heart can only be filled with God. So open your bible and seek God in earnest prayer. Trust in God’s Word the Bible and the Holy Spirit that words does not conflict because it it the same word.
2 Peter 1:21, For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost(KJV). Luke 1:37, For no word from God will ever fail.”(NIV) It doesn’t matter how far you gone or what you done wrong. God will forgive you and help you get on the right track only if you are willing. 1 John 1:9, If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. John 3:16-17, For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
(KJV) Romans 6:23, For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.(KJV) Jesus is coming again but that day won’t come until the gospel has been preached to all nations and when the earth is in a desolate state. What other hope is out there but only in Jesus Christ? You see how evil this world has gotten rapidly and it not getting better but worse. Jesus is coming soon but he is not coming to dwell on the earth again he is coming to save those who made the choice and will to serve him in goodness and saved from the deception of this polluted world. And that day won’t come unless the earth is in a desolate state. The one who is coming on the scene of the earth is Satan and his demonic angels who will work with human agents to deceive the world with false miracles and wonders to make people think he is god when is not. Mark 13:22, For false
Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect. 2 Thessalonians 2:9 ,Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,
Revelation 16:14, For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty. Revelation 13:13-14, “And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men,” “And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.” Every human being who ever existed has to make a choice on who master they will serve and there is only two options. There is no middle ground. Matthew 6:24, No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.(KJV) Either you will serve the only true God the creator and accept God in your heart to do his good will and prosper and enjoy heaven and reside with him for all eternity where there will not be any sickness, death, sufferings, shortages, or any bad thing to rise again that sin has caused.Only God’s love and goodness in beings and things will be there in abundance never to worry about decay or expiration. Or you will serve the devil who brought sin into the world through deception and do the pleasure of evil and burn in hell with him till your sin and being will be consumed and will be put to eternal death, never to rise again. Why choose evil? There is nothing beneficial for you to reap, only self destruction is waiting for you. For evil does not prosper but only goodness does . Goodness always win in the end because God never lost a battle not now not ever to Satan and his evil followers and their plans. The dead will rise again .Those who choose to accept Jesus of the Bible in their hearts and life will rise again if they died to live forever in Jesus in the first resurrection in Jesus Second Coming. Those who died and reject Jesus of the Bible will rise again to be be condemned by birth and if guilty they will perish in the second resurrection , all because they rejected him in their hearts. So every human being that ever exist, whether they have died or whether they are still alive, all will be accounted for on that day when Jesus puts an end to sin on his third coming. So why do you choose evil and not listen to God’s Word the Bible so that you may live. Ezekiel 33:11, Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord God, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel? (KJV) Trust in God he will take care of you. It dosn’t matter what threats the
world may dish out, God always has the last word. If he allow you to go through the storm, he will be there to help you preserve through it as long as you willing. He will open doors that men knows nothing about to supply you every need. You don’t need the world to survive you just need God. So have faith in him knowing he will take to the end of the world so you will be where he is , one day if you don’t give up on him. Even if you die you will rise again and be with God have access to the universe. Mark 8:36, For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?(KJV) Why settle for the world when you can have the universe with God if you choose to do his good will. So don’t fall for the evil deceptions of this world run by the devil. You can’t reap deception because it is not real.Instead trust in God’s word knowing that he is massively a lot stronger than the devil. There will a deceptions in the last days. Satan and his followers will seek to change the sabbath the seventh day to the first day sabbath. He will seek men away from the Bible. He and his demons will try to impersonate Christ and dead love ones. He will force people into worshiping him and take on his evil plans. He will oppress those who worship the true God. But if we look to God of the Bible, God never changed the sabbath. God did not alter the Bible and has been consistent haromony back then , now, and forever more. God is the only one who can resurrect dead people back to life. That when a person dies they don’t even know they were dead. They simply cease to exist after the last breath. God’s Word does not change because it is consistently true. Luke 21:33, Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away. (KJV) James 1:17, Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. (NIV) God knows what is best for you, trust him and he will take care of you even when the tribulation happens. Revelation 7:9-17, After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands. And they cried out in a loud voice: “Salvation belongs to our God, who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb.” All the angels were standing around the throne and around the elders and the four living creatures. They fell down on their faces before the throne and worshiped God, saying: “Amen! Praise and glory and wisdom and thanks and honor and power and strength
be to our God for ever and ever. Amen!” Then one of the elders asked me, “These in white robes—who are they, and where did they come from?” I answered, “Sir, you know.” And he said, “These are they who have come out of the great tribulation; they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. Therefore, “they are before the throne of God and serve him day and night in his temple; and he who sits on the throne will shelter them with his presence. ‘Never again will they hunger; never again will they thirst. The sun will not beat down on them,’[a] nor any scorching heat. For the Lamb at the center of the throne will be their shepherd; ‘he will lead them to springs of living water.’[b] ‘And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.’[c]” The word is true and these events will unfold but don’t look too much at the problem but focus on the solution which is Jesus Christ my lord and hope he will be yours too. For they might be some who is above this earthly law but there is no created being that is above God’s Universal Law, not even the devil himself. Philippians 2:10-11 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. 20 Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances, 21 (Touch not; taste not; handle not; 22 Which all are to perish with the using;) after the commandments and doctrines of men? (Colossians 2:20-22 KJV)
If we are dead with Christ, and born again in the spirit, then why do we put so much emphasis on carnal ordinances? All these external ordinances as to what we need to do to be right with God, are all man made doctrines (Matthew 15:9), and not given to us by God under this new covenant, so why do we give them any of our attention. The traditions of man make the Word of God of none effect (Mark 7:13). All the carnal things will perish some day, and we need to be concerned with eternal things that are spiritual. If we would just do what Jesus told us to do, which is love God above all, and love our neighbor as ourselves (Matthew 22:37-40), then we would be as right with God as we can get. You do not have to have actions in accordance with a lot of commandments and doctrines to be right with God, but just let the love of God flow through you, and you will be in perfect harmony with the Father, as He is love (1 John 4:8). The churches still like to teach that you must do a lot of things, like attending church, tithing, praying, reading your bible, etc., for God to fellowship with you, but that is not true. If you get full of God’s love, you will do a lot of those things, but it is out of love for Him, not to be right with Him. If we would pay more attention to loving (John 15:12), instead of doing, we would be more like God, and He would be happier with us. Thank you Jesus for your commandments of love.
