your 3DS is OFFLINE . . .
(mucho texto below)
On April 8th, 2024, the online services for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U were shutdown. This affects online play across all games, and SpotPass, used in apps like Swapdoodle; this renders online-required games unplayable, most notably Nintendo Badge Arcade.
As of the date I'm writing this not aaall online features are unaccessible, Friends List seem to be working, Pokémon Bank is still running, usable for free and compatible with Pokémon Home, and you can download updates and games from the eShop (only if you bought them before the eShop shutdown from March 27th, 2023...), but there's no guarantee those will last much longer.
anyways Pretendo Network is a replacement for Nintendo Network that not only aims to restore online play, but also other abandoned features such as Miiverse and the Wara Wara Plaza.
Setting up Pretendo is pretty easy, there's a guide on its website for both Wii U, 3DS and their respective emulators, and you don't even need modding on Wii U for it to work (with some limitations), but you might as well do it since it's so easy (Wii U modding guide - 3DS modding guide)
Currently Pretendo is in a beta state and active development so it's not really a fully realized replacement yet, but a couple of popular games are supported well enough at the moment, like Mario Kart 7, Splatoon and Super Mario Maker (personally i care more about pokemon gen 6 and mh4u and idk if those will be supported aaaa oh well).
Since this is technically a whole different server, some things don't carry over from you Nintendo Network ID to your Pretendo Network ID, like your badges(you should backup your badges before using Pretendo on 3DS) or your Friends List... so I gotta fill it up again! my new 3DS Friend Code is 3878-6726-5312 and my PNID is dibudani (for Wii U), add me right now !!
"Why is the little wifi guy so happy?" idk. why was toad happy when Club Nintendo was discontinued?

Nintendo 3DS Retrospective Part 2: A System’s Function
The beauty of this handheld is that there are so many things you can do on this system without even having a game. I think it's what gave the 3DS its charm, giving you a reason to keep playing.
As a kid, I didn’t have any internet. The closest I had was this Telstra Prepaid Wi-Fi stick where I used to waste all the internet downloading Sailor Moon videos. There was a short period where I was able to connect my 3DS to the internet so I got to experience at least the heyday a bit!
Anyway, I spent most of my time on the system itself, the lovely Home Menu and all its built in software. I have a lot to say about all these!
Part 2 is under the cut!
I had three 3DSs at the very end, to which only one works properly. The other two have issues but I still kept them for the precious memories. It's crazy to think how long this handheld has been in my life, and how many memories it gave me.
Without it, I don't think I would be who I am today. I really don't know we will live in a world without it...
For as long as I can, I will keep playing on it! I’ll be 50 and still be on my 3DS lol
How did I get my first 3DS?
It was out of nowhere. I didn't know I was going to get this life changing handheld. My dad and I were driving to our family friend’s house as we always did back in the day, while I stared out the window blissfully unaware.
Once we got there…my dad stopped the car and pulled out a box from under the seat and handed it over to me, telling me that he had a surprise.
It was a red original 3DS?! I took it into my hands, staring at the box in disbelief. I remember the box so vividly, and the awe I felt at the fact my dad got me this?! My dad looked real happy to see me so happy.
I remember wanting to rip it open right then and there. My dad told me to wait until we actually got into the house since he also had another one for my family friend. At the time, I only had my DSI which I used be on all the time.
I remember rushing in and opening my 3DS with my family friend who opened theirs, plugging in the handheld and turning it on for the very first time. The setup music is so nostalgic to me for this reason, I spent some time setting it all up and exploring the home menu.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t charge well to this current day, you have to press down on the charger in order for the system to charge at all. I think something is wrong with the charging port but I was never able to fix it.
This was the first 3DS I ever modded, because I was too afraid to mod my 2DS back when. If I bricked my main 2DS, I would have cried. I nicknamed it my “Luma 3DS” after the custom firmware and installed a whole bunch of games on it! I even got a custom theme with the Luma 3DS logo.
I put it somewhere but I don’t know where it ended up aha
How did I get my second 3DS?
My red 3DS lasted probably a year or two before it decided to stop working out of nowhere. The blue LED would turn on, and then a small pop sound could be heard as it turned off. I remember I was really upset, because I loved this handheld.
I was out of a 3DS.
For my birthday shortly, my grandma bought me a white 3DS XL, the same one as above! It came preinstalled with Mario Kart 7, which is why its my favourite Mario Kart.
I remember pointing at it in Big W when she asked me what I wanted, and my grandma didn't look as happy as I was. I think the price displeased her but she still bought it for me, hehe.
This was my main handheld for years, where my brother used play on it from time to time despite how much I didn't want him to. I still have it to this day, although it is worse for wear. One day, it refused to boot into the Home Menu.
No matter what I tried, it wouldn't boot. It would either be stuck on the Black Screen of Death or it would be stuck on the Home Menu transition you would get when you pressed the home button. It was really devastating for me, I had so many memories on here that I couldn't access anymore.
My red 3DS started working out of nowhere, by the way. One day, I tried turning it on and it booted into the home menu without any trouble. I remember showing my dad and he wondered why I even got this white one if the red one was working.
That’s when I dubbed it my dad’s 3DS since he liked to play Mario Kart 7 with my brother and I from time to time and he would use this one. I actually wiped the whole 3DS for him since I wanted my dad to have it (even though I didn’t have to do that lol).
How did I get my current 2DS?
Surprisingly, I got out of gaming for a while. At least on the 3DS side, which is utter blasphemy to me now. I can't believe I'd ever stop playing this handheld! I feel like it makes me a fraud, you see how much I harp on about this handheld and yet I stopped playing it lol
In 2019, I made a friend who really liked Pokémon. He would often bring his 3DS XL to school to show me his games and all the Pokémon he caught. He would ask me if I had any of the Pokémon games and I said I did. This prompted me to find my red 3DS and buy Pokemon Moon so I could play alongside him.
But alas, since my red 3DS has those issues as you know, it was really hard for me to have a fully charged handheld. I felt so bad when my friend wanted to battle me, but I couldn't half the time since the 3DS was either dead or about to die.
He were kind enough to give me his charging dock for the 3DS, but it still didn't solve the issue.
That’s when I decided for my birthday, I would ask for a new 3DS! I wanted to play with my friend! It was harder to find a new 3DS on sale in the shops at this time, so I went to my local pawn shop. I remember wanting an actual 3DS, but my mum wanted to get something a bit cheaper.
This is why I have my 2DS! It came with its own case, which was one of the reasons I chose it. I didn't mind not having any 3D functionality, since I never used it anyway on either of my previous 3DSs.
It still works to this day, and fully modded! I finally got over my fear of modding it, nothing happened. It really is easy to mod your 3DS, by the way.
I do plan on buying a Japanese New 3DS LL one day, the pink and white one! I've always wanted it for myself!
A sad story...
I used to keep all my games in this case right here, since I didn't like keeping them in their original boxes for some reason. It's a decision I regret to this day, since I really like the boxes!
As I mentioned above, I got out of gaming for some time. It seems like during all that, I misplaced the case. It was gone from sight, no matter where I thought I left it. I looked everywhere, but it was nowhere.
To this day, I have no idea where it is. It's been years...perhaps its gone forever. It's really sad to lose something that meant a lot to you, although I don't blame anyone but myself for this. I should have taken better care of it.
I lost all the games I had physically, and that was practically all my games. I had so many I received over the years, all in a poof. I hope I can manage to find it one day, there are a lot of precious memories in it!
I have a fun fact with this that I’d like to share!
I had two copies of Super Mario 64 DS in here because I lost my first copy and asked my grandma to buy me another one, but then my mum found the first copy some time after lol
Now I take better care of things, but if it ever shows up, I will cry profusely. I hope I can find it!
Home Menu
When you turn on your 3DS, you are met with the Home Menu in all its glory.
It's probably one of my favourite menu designs, alongside the Wii. It's simple yet so effective, the BGM is one everyone will never forget and it's also customizable! I feel like Nintendo peaked here, and then just ditched it when the Switch rolled around.
I used to love scrolling all the way until the very end of the menu, and making the icons bigger or smaller! I also loved making folders to store my games. Ever since my white 3DS, I have a folder for the system titles and a folder for my games and demos!
Themes
With the Home Menu, you were able to customize it with themes! These could be bought from the Theme Shop, which sadly stopped working when they shut down the Nintendo eShop.
I’m using Pokemon Sun and Moon— Tropical currently, but I like swapping them out from time to time. Some have their own BGM and sound effects, while others simply change the background.
Here are some of my favorite ones I have!
Splatoon: Squid Sisters
Senbonzakura/Kurousa
ACNL: Paw Print Room
Kirby Copy Ability Global Poll
Sonic Boom Shattered Crystal
Persona Q2 Theme
Badges
To go with themes, they made badges that you could obtain and add to your menu!
When they released, I remember downloading the Nintendo Badge Arcade when I had the chance to. I'll be making a special post just for it, so please look out for it!
I used to put badges anywhere and everywhere I could! It didn't matter if it looked good or not, I just wanted to have as many as I could!
You could even put them on folders! The absolute peak of this feature.
My favourite badges are the ones that act like software icons, where you could click on them and it would open the software! As you can see, I have ones for each of the built in software. The original titles have been put in a folder at the very end, out of view.
Streetpass Mii Plaza
The iconic plaza that everyone knows! You can’t go hearing Streetpass without the Streetpass Mii Plaza!
I've spent a lot of time on here during my time on this handheld, from its initial stage to what we have now with all the DLC! I have always loved the concept of Streetpass, and I wish they brought it back for the Switch.
Alas.
Let’s talk about each of the things you can do in it! I come from Australia so I'll be using the European names for everything, by the way.
I feel like we can't overlook the main plaza area. The iconic BGM, the sea of Mii characters that you can look over as you increase your plaza population and all the various options and games you can choose from!
Puzzle Swap
I love this little game so much.
As the name suggests, you swap puzzle pieces with the people you Streetpass with to complete various puzzles and gain new ones!
I remember trying very hard to complete all puzzles I had, especially excited when I met new people who had the puzzle pieces I needed! I love the BGM and the little tweet of the bird that swoops in to deliver the pieces you got.
With my 2DS, I have loads of puzzles to complete since I always choose pieces from puzzles I don't have when I get Streetpasses. They are really rare nowadays after all. I want to try to do as many puzzles as I can.
Otherwise, I use Play Coins to buy pieces. This takes forever since you can only buy one at a time, and you aren't guaranteed a piece you don't have. I like to sit there and do this from time to time while watching something.
I have over 500 left to collect...I hope I can complete every single puzzle one day! That will be one of my life goals!
Streetpass Quest
Saving the world has never been so much fun.
This was the first game I ever completed fully, and probably will be the only one. You have to save the King who looks exactly like your Mii from the evil Dark Lord who kidnapped them by recruiting soldiers!
I originally beat this on my white 3DS, slowly progressing through all of the floors. There are many enemies and many types of floors that require certain abilities that are based off the Mii's colour. Very simple but fun!
I remember there was a floor that was bright white which required a Mii with black to darken the floor and a floor that was pitch black, requiring a Mii with white to brighten the area.
The only issue with that was I never got a Mii with those colours. I would buy soldiers with Play Coins, and yet I never got black or white for some reason.
There is also a sequel to this game, where you have to save the Princess and the Prince too! I remember being really surprised when there was more to play.
Later on, they introduced new games, as well as the concept of Streetpass VIP! It was a one time payment and you would receive all of the games available and have added bonuses, such as the ticket system!
I have played every single one, but I'll just talk about the one I enjoyed the most!
Streetpass Garden
This is my favourite game out of all of them. I remember choosing this as the free game that the Streetpass Mii Plaza was offering on my white 3DS.
I love how simple and yet fun it all is. You plant a seed into a pot and the people you meet water the flower and make it grow. It takes a lot of people to do so, more than you would expect.
Once it blooms, you can germinate for seeds! Each seed can either be a new breed or an alternate colour of a breed you already bloomed. There is a percentage for each of these, and I always chose the ones that guaranteed a new breed!
Your goal is to fill up your planter handbook and become a master gardener! I think I was very close to doing so on my white 3DS, while I’m still trying to on my 2DS.
For some reason, I chose the Streetpass Slot Racing game on my 2DS for my free game and I remember regretting it since I didn’t enjoy it as much as I thought I would.
I just wanted my garden back man.
Activity Log
It's so simple yet so charming.
I love the grid aesthetic they chose, it reminds me of my school notebooks I used to use.
All your titles are shown in this little book and I think that’s so cute. I love flipping through all the pages and seeing every single title I’ve ever played appear on there.
Even Homebrew appears on here, which I found really funny. You see normal titles and then you have the FBI manager.
I loved just looking through each the days, seeing what I played the most!
This reminds me of the Wii, where you would get an envelope with your play time. I actually didn't know this was a thing until I looked at the Activity Log recently.
System Settings
I really love the System Settings. I suppose that might be a weird sentence, but it's true!
The BGM is an absolute banger, sometimes I love to boot up the application to simply listen to it all! Please tell me I’m not the only one who does this.
My favourite one is the Internet Settings, Nintendo didn’t have to go so hard on something like this but they still did. I could listen to this for hours happily and vibe.
The little guy helper is the very best, I never really needed any help to connect to the internet, but I still used the helper anyway. I wish we had something like this guy on the Switch.
I would often visit Other Settings, particularly the Profile section. You can edit the User Name, Date of Birth, Region and go onto the Nintendo DS Profile, and that’s all you could do on there.
Nothing truly special, and yet here I am mentioning it for a very specific reason. It’s probably really odd and weird, but I still want to share it with you all!
I might be the only one but…I like to vibe to the Nintendo DS Profile.
It’s basically the DSi Settings but only having the ability to edit the Message and Colour. The sudden change from the light yellow to black as you see this on your screen….so good.
I love the BGM of this so much, it’s unfunny. It makes me feel things, so much nostalgia for something that most people overlook. I vibe so hard.
As soon as I found out that this existed, I was always there. I still do this from time to time in fact, whenever I’m on the System Settings.
I can hear it even now….
To be continued!
With that, Part 2 is done! We're far from done though, I still have more things to blab about in Part 3! Can you tell how much I like the 3DS?
Hope to see you there!

sometimes I’ll occasionally tinker with my hacked 2ds getting new games to play later that aren’t available for purchase anymore and install new homescreen themes and figure out a new thing or two about what you can do with the console and i always end up thinking to myself that there really won’t be a console era that feels Like That anymore and it makes me sad
it’s not even nostalgia anymore like the menus and native console apps have different designs that were trendy in the 2010s but now simply aren’t used anymore. the 2ds is probably one of the best console designs in terms of accesibility if you have trouble with hand-eye coordination or just keeping your grip on certain surfaces (i don’t think i’d have enjoyed or been as good in mario kart 7 if it wasn’t for the Huge L+R buttons in the corners) (also i’ve heard people with big hands find it uncomfortable to grab which is why i don’t claim it to be fully emcompassing in its accessibility but ok). it was also way cheaper than other consoles which is why i could even get it in the first place years ago lol
idk there’s such a charm in struggling with converting audio files to play them in a custom 3ds theme or manually changing the regions of the games you download with the SD card reader on the computer because they’re not available for your console’s region —i am aware you can bypass this but i like doing it this way—. i literally had to change my internet provider settings in order to make the 2ds signal compatible with my router. absolutely no one shares this opinion but i loveeeee when tech feels like a hassle to figure out. it feels like the right way to handle tech stuff.
#blog tag#it’s really sad that now everything is so easy because it has to be. you don’t have time to mess with this stuff anymore you have to work no#but it’s an incredible satisfaction when you make something Work#makes you giddy for days on end#anyways i’m so proud bc i could get Como te voy a olvidar from los angeles azules as a music#a bgm.bcstm or whatever the file was#for my homescreen theme#and it slaps So hard#i feel like a bad bitch. i feel so good

Now that the eshop is truly on its deathbed, do you know what the future of 3ds hacks will look like? Are there alternative methods? i hope i will be able to keep repairing and hacking them in the future but i just dont know :(
The good news is that by the time I wrote that post there are a handful of other ways to hack a 3ds. Since you sound like you hack a lot of em, you should look at the hack that involves you booting mario kart 7 on a hacked 3ds and sending hacks to an unhavked 3ds via download play.

My Journey With The Nintendo 3DS… Does It Still Hold Up?
Back in 2021, the Nintendo 3DS turned ten years old. It still boggles my mind that so much time has passed. I remember staying up late playing Mario Kart 7 and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D on school nights. It was so much more different than my DS Lite and DSi systems, this was a system with some great console-quality games that I poured hours and hours into.
This post will focus on my story with the Nintendo 3DS system, from getting it for the first time, to the many games I played, to today's gaming environment. Let's go down memory lane and see if it's still a capable system in 2023!
My days with the Nintendo 3DS system unfortunately did not begin on launch day, March 27, 2011. I was so excited for it to get it that I made one out of paper! I asked for it as a present on Easter, for my birthday, but... nothing. Then again, I can see why my parents did not want to fork over $250 for just another DS, even if it was more than that to me at the time. But not even half a year later in July, the price was cut almost in half- to $170. All owners of systems from launch got special NES and Game Boy Advance games as an apology for the quick price cut.
However, that meant that others like me that got it after the price cut never got those games. A shame, but it was never really a big deal in the end. I got my system Christmas of 2011- a Flame Red colored system that came with a physical copy of Super Mario 3D Land. I couldn't find a lot on this bundle over a decade later, but Google results of a defunct Best Buy listing led me to believe that this was only $180, just $10 more than the system alone! Definitely a bargain.
This took quite a while to find, no archives of any webpages or anything... I honestly thought I wouldn't find any price at all.
Not only this, but I also got copies of Mario Kart 7 and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D as well (as mentioned before, haha). My 3DS games collection was already off to a great start.
One downside that I soon discovered was that my internet was not new enough to be compatible with the 3DS system. I was unable to connect online on it for over 2 years in my own home!! That meant that I took the thing everywhere I went for that sweet free Wi-Fi goodness. Which brings me to one of the features I LOVED about the system!
StreetPass was something brand new and exclusive to the 3DS. It used a local wireless communication feature to trade certain information with other 3DS systems in the area. This could be user information, weapons, Mii characters, or anything else depending on the game! I always had my system with me and got excited whenever that green light came on. The SpotPass feature was a bit similar, but nowhere near as fun. It allowed you to receive similar things like StreetPass, but also downloaded the latest notifications from Nintendo.
It could also download videos onto the Nintendo Video app. This application had four slots for videos and refreshed weekly. You could view a 3D Kirby video, music videos, Dinosaur Office (rooooar!!), and select Channel Frederator videos (where I watched Bee and Puppycat for the first time). These videos differed between regions I believe, so that's what I experienced here in the United States.
Later in 2012, the Nintendo 3DS XL launched alongside New Super Mario Bros. 2, but I was still here with the original model. I wasn't complaining, though. I never felt like I needed a bigger model, so I just stuck with the one I had. I did happen to get that new Mario game when it came out, though. My mom told me she'd buy it for me if I didn't ever stop running during a 5K race, and I stuck to that. Guess it was a great motivator.
As the years went on, I got more and more games that I continue to love to this day. Kid Icarus Uprising, Pokémon X, Star Fox 64 3D, Animal Crossing: New Leaf, Tomodachi Life, The Legend Of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds and Majora's Mask 3D. But there's one that I definitely won't forget- Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS.
This was a pre-order present for my birthday. It launched October 3, 2014 while my birthday was one day earlier on the 2nd. We were also all going to be traveling on the 3rd too. So, after school I RAN to my dad's classroom (he was a high school teacher at the time), we left to pick up the game, we got home, and then left for our trip!! And then I unlocked all the fighters that night. It was amazing.
Not much else happened until Christmas of 2015, when I got the New Nintendo 3DS XL. It was a beefed up version of the system I knew, with an extra analog nub, bigger screens, more buttons, and amiibo functionality in the touch screen. I ended up getting two actually- the one in 2015 was a black one, and on Christmas of 2016 I got a family friend's golden Majora's Mask edition of the system. It was the first system I got multiple versions of in the same line.
Afterwards I just kept on playing games on my 3DS, not much else. But then the Nintendo Switch came along in March of 2017, and I was playing the system less and less, until I just played it only a few times a month- and not even that long too. Even after homebrewing the system it's not something I played much.
But of course, as you all know, I bought one more game for the system in late 2022, Fire Emblem Awakening, and I adored it. Then I got to playing a few more of my older games and was surprised with how well they all still played. It was like I was twelve years old again, almost.
It's honestly been really fun replaying some of the games of my younger years. I had really good taste, especially with Kid Icarus Uprising. Man, that was a great game. It saddens me that a lot of these games won't be brought back for the Switch, because I think they deserve another shot on it.
Even so, I enjoy playing on my 3DS whenever I can, and I absolutely think that it holds up today. Find one used, get some games (however you want), and have some fun with it!
Thanks for reading!! Loved revisiting this handheld, and I loved talking about the memories I shared with it.

#MARIO KART 7 3DS DOWNLOAD PLAY MANUAL#
If you've not checked the manual for this game (which comes within the game itself) note that you CAN delete the saved data by hitting A, B, X and Y at the same time before the Mario Kart 7 logo shows up before the game starts up. This is in the Mario Kart channal that comes with the game. Also, this Mario Kart game comes equiped with the ability to use the Spot Pass feature and Street Pass (you can exchange information with people you pass on the street such as ghost data and best times and try to beat them. Main game you can change the setting, however in the balloon pop game you have a 1st person perspective and you have the choice in game of what you do (though you could incorporate both here if you so choose. This is pretty a pretty cool feature but you don't have to race this way if you don't wan't. A completely new feature to this Mario Kart game unlike any other (at least for the hand held variety) is that you can steer simply by moving the 3DS system to the left or right. I imagine that if you get 3 stars on every race from every class you'll unlock something. As well as obtaining a gold trophy in the different cups within the classes, the game rates you from 1 to 3 stars based on driving ability. You un lock character as you go and as you go the races get harder. There is also a 7 icon pick up in which you'll get 7 different weapons at the same time (red shell, green shell, banana, bomb, mushroom, etc.). There are a few new weapon pick ups as well, such as the racoon tail and the ability to shoot fireballs from the fire flower. Also there are more characters that you can play with, including your Mii (once you beat all 50CC races) and now you can float through the air as well as drive your kart under water. This time around it's in 3D! It is pretty cool. This game is a lot of fun and retains all of the elements from the origiginal adds a lot more to it as well. I still remember playing to original released on the SNES quite ofen. Well Nintendo decided to put out yet another Mario Kart. Day 29 7/26/2021
Hiiiiii! Look at me catching up teehee.
Today marks one month on the atoll! It went so fast!
This morning, Ben and I did a shorebird survey on the runway before breakfast. We saw sooo many cutie shorebirds. They have the best calls too! I’m definitely getting a better handle counting and identifying them, but still need some practice. After seeing lots of cuties, we headed to the galley for some yummy pancakes. I put peanut butter on mine. Yum! Later in the morning, Ben and I responded to some emails and did some excel data organization. Very fun stuff! Before lunch we started our smart shell acceptance test. So we collected some foliage and put it into a large container, picked up 3 hermit crabs, and put them in the container with two of the smart shells to see if they traded their shell for the 3D printed shell which resembles a PVC cap (crabs were seen using PVC caps as shells in the past). We started by watching them for 15 minutes and then left them for 3 hours to see if they accepted the shells. They didn’t. They were very disgruntled and were just trying to escape. I don’t blame them, but I’m eager to see one try the shell out. At lunch, I had a PBJ. MMMMMM YUMMMMY. In the afternoon, Ben and I headed to Strawn to transplant some Pisonia babies to a field near their mama tree. This will hopefully give them a better chance because they were all clumped together under the mama tree and would likely not all survive. It was pretty tough digging them out without disrupting their fragile little roots, but really fun to get my green thumb on! While we were moving the little babies it was very hot. No wind and lots of sun. Luckily the heavens blessed us with lots of rain about halfway through so we cooled off real nice. After planting, we explored a bit and looked for sooty tern nests. Then we headed to Southern end to switch out our caller and decoy colony SD cards. Everything looked good so we headed back to the boat. I had driven on the way there which was fun and was planning to drive back, but had some troubles starting it up and the wind and waves were rocking us quite a bit. I got pretty frustrated because I had a lot of trouble lifting the engine. I had to fling my body back to get it up and I just wish I was little stronger. Then I couldn’t get it started and was already a little on edge so wasn’t thinking through what could be the problem. Turns out I had turned the throttle a bit forward in my struggle to lift the engine. As a safety mechanism, the engine won’t start if the throttle is turned. The whole time I just thought I wasn’t strong enough to pull the belt lawnmower starter thingy (you know what I’m talking about…hopefully) and then I gave up and had Ben do it. In retrospect, I should have just taken a breath but I just felt a wee overwhelmed. Anyyyywayyy we headed back to camp in the rain, put away the boat, and I rinsed off. Then I headed to the lab to try and catch up on my blogs!! It’s been driving me nuts how far behind I am. I made some progress and headed to the galley for dinner. Marsha made beer battered fish (fried tofu for the veggies), french fries, chipotle mayo, and a yummy cesar salad. For dessert, I had a super yummy blueberry scone. It was quite the treat! After a tummy full of french fries (my absolute favorite thing just like my Mama!), I headed to the commons (big screened in room where we watch movies, play games, and attached is a little gym with a ping pong table) to do more blogging while watching The Office. The Cocos (Lauren, Ryan, Andrew) and Ben joined too! They played Mario Kart on their Nintendo DSesss (? what’s the plural of DS haha) so that was fun to listen to them play. I miss video games (might have my Mama put my DS in the little package she sends me :))). I was also really happy to get more pictures and VIDEOS!!?…up on my blog. I got an app to transfer the photos I take on snorkels onto my phone which is wayyyy faster than downloading. Underwater photos coming soon!! It took a good chunk of the evening to get everything uploaded but it was so nice chatting and listening to music with everyone.
After everything loaded, I headed off to bed for some sleepies.
Smart shell acceptance trial with purple hermit crabs.
I forgot to post this with my Sunday entry. Look at this hermit crab using a coconut crab claw as a shell. What the heck!!

WAIT SHIT I FORGOT ABOUT HOMEBREW, the 3ds is already tons of fun unmodded but it's like 10 times more fun with homebrew
it's super quick and easy with this guide, it's 100% legal, undetectable to nintendo and it's nearly impossible to brick the thing! trust me, i've done it for 3 different models so far and the only roadblock i've ever had was somehow missing an entire bullet point. the guide tells you everything you'll absolutely need in the first few pages, but i suggest making sure your device's outer cameras still work since qr codes are often used to download homebrewed content. it's not required since with the fbi file manager you can just directly type in the link you wanna download from but it's a lot quicker and easier to scan
here're my favorite homebrew apps and features on my main 3ds to give you an idea of what you can do with it 👀
anenome3ds lets you download custom themes and splash screens! mmx splash by NewYorksFinest, sky cotl eden theme by yours truly! :3 you can make themes yourself with usagi3ds, but it's a windows application and it can be a little finicky sometimes 😔
fbi is a file manager that lets you do just about anything you can do with a file editor on a computer all from the comfort of your device! it's also protected by parental controls to make sure nobody messes with your files and has a warning before it lets you edit anything that has the potential ro brick your device
twilightmenu++ is a ds emulator which sounds useless on paper since all 3ds models are backwards compatible with ds carts by default, but it also has support for gba emulation with a few additional files and lets you add ds games directly to your home menu! rhythm heaven ds is visible in the themes picture up there and i also have the entire megaman starforce trilogy and explorers of sky sitting right next to 3ds games like mario kart 7 and kid icarus uprising. you could even theoretically play every single mainline pokemon game up till sword and shield on your 3ds by getting vc copies of the gameboy games and a gba emulator if you're into that (which i am and i have, it's the best way to experience the series imo <3)
and let's say you're into that, but you're bummed that you missed a bunch of distributions (or maybe you just wanna hack the shit outta some pokemon which honestly same 🤝)? well pksm's got your back! it supports every mainline pokemon game except the switch ones plus support for multiple saves! you can edit every single thing about your pokemon from its species to its stats to even tiny things like its encounter type and what ball it was caught in 😳 it also has a legality checker, an event distribution feature that lets you grab any event pokemom or item from any region as if you were actually there for it and storage feature that's compatible with every single game because bank sucks <3
i'd love to shout about 3ds homebrew more but i'm gonna run out of pictures </3 please homebrew your 3ds, it's 100% worth it
As a society, we need to bring back the Nintendo 3DS

MARIO KART 7 3DS DIGITAL DOWNLOAD SERIES
Jump actions, which were introduced in Mario Kart Wii as tricks, lets players obtain a brief burst of speed when driving off ramps. Up to ten coins can be collected in each race, but some will be lost if the player comes into contact with hazards or goes out of bounds. Ĭoins, originally introduced in Super Mario Kart (1992), are scattered about the tracks collecting them increases the kart's top speed. These items are the Fire Flower, which allows the player to shoot up to ten fireballs, the Super Leaf, which gives the player a tail that allows them to flip over nearby players, collect nearby Coins, and deflect items, and the Lucky Seven, which bestows seven items at once.
MARIO KART 7 3DS DIGITAL DOWNLOAD SERIES
Mario Kart 7 also features three items new to the Mario Kart series (the last two of which do not return in Mario Kart 8). The POW Block, Mega Mushroom, and Thunder Cloud from Mario Kart Wii are absent from the game, as well as the Fake Item Box from previous installments. Some of these power-ups include the series staple items Koopa Shells, Banana Peels, and Super Mushrooms. While driving, the players may use power-up items, obtained from running into item boxes located at specific points on the track, that are used to hinder the progression of opponents or to help the player in the race. Most tracks are based on various locations in the Mario series, but two tracks are set on Wuhu Island, which was featured in non- Mario video games Wii Fit, Wii Fit Plus, and Wii Sports Resort. Mario Kart 7 carries on traditional Mario Kart gameplay in which players race against each other in go-karts across a variety of themed tracks. Racing in first-person is one of the new elements in this game along with hang gliding. Mario Kart 7 is the 3DS's best-selling game, with 18.97 million copies sold worldwide as of 31 March 2022. The game was digitally released on the Nintendo eShop in 2012. Mario Kart 7 was the second 3DS game to sell over five million units, following Super Mario 3D Land. It was released to positive reviews with praise for the new additions, tracks and gameplay although the limited single player modes (such as the removal of the customizable Versus mode), item balancing and difficulty curve received criticism. The game supports both local and online multiplayer for up to eight players. New additions to the game include hang-gliding attachments for karts, the ability to drive underwater, the ability to drive in first person, and the ability to fully customize the vehicles' builds. While racing, the players make use of power-up items that either assist their character or hinder opposing characters. Some famous 3DS games such as Super Mario 3D Land, The Legend of Zelda, Mario Kart 7, Pokémon Sun and Moon … all work very well.Mario Kart 7 is a kart racing video game developed by Nintendo EAD in cooperation with Retro Studios and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo 3DS in 2011.Īs with the previous games in the Mario Kart series, players participate in racing on various Mario-themed tracks, playing as one of seventeen different Mario characters. cia formats that we provide in every game.
