Nach zweieinhalb Tagen Madrid mit sehr gemischten kulinarischen Erlebnissen (ein toller Abend im DiverXO, Höhen und Tiefen im Desde 1911 und einem enttäuschenden Dinner im El Club Allard) steht vor dem Heimflug noch das Mittagessen im Coque an. Das zweifach besternte Restaurant wird von den drei Brüdern Sandoval betrieben - Mario (der Chef), Rafael (der Sommelier) sowie Diego (der Manager) - und befindet sich im Stadtteil Chamberí, einem relativ noblen Wohnviertel östlich der Innenstadt. Viele Touristen zieht es nicht hierher, und so sind die Strassen an einem Samstag kurz nach 13.00 Uhr menschenleer, als mich das Taxi vor der lachsfarbenen, herrschaftlichen Stadtvilla absetzt. Das Gepäck in der Hand, versuche ich mir Zugang zum Restaurant zu verschaffen, stehe jedoch vor verschlossenen Toren. Als Mitteleuropäer bin ich natürlich in der spanischen Metropole, wie immer dieser Tage, sehr früh dran. Allerdings sollte das Coque bereits seit knapp 10 Minuten geöffnet haben. Drinnen wuseln Angestellte umher, mein Winken wird jedoch geflissentlich ignoriert. Nach einigen weiteren Winkversuchen erscheint plötzlich die Frau von Chef Mario Sandoval an der Tür und gewährt mir Einlass. Sie ist eigentlich nicht im Tagesgeschäft eingebunden, wie sie mir erzählt, fühlt sich jedoch immerhin für wartende Gäste zuständig. Eine etwas kuriose Situation, was mir in diesem Moment aber herzlich egal ist. Hauptsache drin. Einmal im Haus, erspähe ich im weitläufig-feudalen und verzweigten Inneren, das eher an eine Anwaltskanzlei oder einen privaten Club erinnert, im hinteren Teil eine Küche. Freundliches Grüssen aus der Ferne, bevor ich zum Lift begleitet werde. Es geht nach unten.

Im unteren Stock befindet sich eine Cocktailbar samt Mini-Kino. Mixologen und Köche wirken beschäftigt, wenngleich die unerwartete Kulisse noch weit von einem munteren Treiben entfernt ist. Kein Wunder, schliesslich ist ausser mir noch niemand hier. Es gibt erstmal einen Coque Club Malfy Gin Cocktail mit Rauchblase obenauf. Für den Auftakt zu einem Mittagessen ist der Drink für meinen Geschmack etwas gar stramm…

… aber es folgt sogleich auch die kulinarische Eröffnung. Erst wird eine Auster mit Jalapeño und Bloody Mary Perlen gereicht, gefolgt von einem Mais-Taco mit Miso und Gänseleber. Beide Snacks sind geradlinig und wohlschmeckend.

Das Intermezzo an der Bar ist nur von kurzer Dauer, es geht gleich weiter in den Weinkeller. Das Bild zeigt einen verschwindend kleinen Teil des imposanten Flaschenlagers. Spanische (Sterne-)Restaurants gelten nicht zu unrecht als Eldorado für Weinliebhaber, wie auch das Coque wieder zeigt. Hier werden einige überaus rare Schätze gelagert.

Auf einem Tischchen mitten im Keller liegen auf einem ausladenden Teller die nächsten Happen, die durch den Einsatz von Trockeneis in küstennahes Licht gerückt werden sollen. Meer, Nebelschwaden, Gischt und so. Rechts ist eine galizische Wildmuschel in Albariño-Sauce, links Jakobsmuschel Ceviche. Wiederum präsentieren sich beide Kleinigkeiten linear und wirken fast forciert reduziert. Die Jakobsmuschel ist mir trotz grüner Sauce ein wenig zu süss (hallo, Granatapfelkerne), die Wildmuscheln hingegen werden von der säurebetonten Weissweinsauce treffend akzentuiert.

Die Karawane zieht weiter in die Sakristei. Eine Gruft, in der nicht nur die nächsten Gerichte serviert werden, sondern in der auch ein Trafalgar Sherry aus dem Jahr 1805 lagert. Man führe sich das Alter nur mal vor Augen: Champagnerliebhaber Napoleon wird zum König von Italien gekrönt, führt seine napoleonischen Kriege (bei denen er in der Schlacht von Trafalgar geschlagen wird…), das fast 900 Jahre andauernde Heilige Römische Reich findet sein Ende, Weinliebhaber Thomas Jefferson wird für seine zweite Amtszeit als US Präsident vereidigt. Erfindungen wie das Telefon oder die Glühbirne lassen noch Jahrzehnte auf sich warten. Sommelier Alex Pardo lässt mich einen kleinen Tropfen, den er mit einer ellenlangen, daumenbreiten Glaspipette aus dem Behälter zieht und auf meinen Handrücken träufelt, probieren. Die pechschwarze, dickflüssige Masse schmeckt balsamisch, nach Tabak, nach Leder und hat eine unheimliche Tiefe, die von einer immer noch präsenten Säure getragen wird. Ein berührendes Erlebnis.

Auch an dieser Station gibt es natürlich etwas zu essen. Einmal ein Stier-Tatar mit Senf und Baumblatt sowie Parrocha-Sardine mariniert in goldenem Sherryessig. Dazu ein Glas Fino Sherry. Zum fetten Fisch, der in Escabeche serviert wird, passt der Wein wunderbar und mildert auch die intensive Fettigkeit ein wenig. Noch besser gefällt allerdings die Kombination mit dem kernigen Fleisch im Stierkopf-Knuspersandwich, das trotz seiner Kraft eine enorme Klarheit ausstrahlt.

Aus den dunklen Niederungen der Sousterrains geht es mit dem Lift zurück nach oben ans Tageslicht. Der Wanderzirkus macht nun im Gardemanger Bereich der Küche halt. Zu einem erfrischenden Alhambra 1925 Bier mit Rosenblättern gibt es erst eine gegrillte Seegurke mit Aji Pilpil. Knusprig, subtil rauchig, lebendige Schärfe, köstlich. Es folgt eine Rambutan mit eingelegten Mollusken und gefriergetrockneter Tomate zum Löffeln. Die Tomate überlagert alles, so dass ich von der Frucht lediglich eine dezente Süsse wahrnehme und die Muscheln gar nicht schmecke.

Endlich kann ich es mir am Tisch im wild designten Speisesaal gemütlich machen (siehe Titelbild). Ganz im Gegensatz zur optisch fordernden Inneneinrichtung setzt Sandoval beim ersten Gang im Restaurant auf eine klassische Kombo: klare Moruno-Tomaten-Gazpacho (im Kristallglas), gebratene Kirschtomaten mit Basilikum und Gewürzen. Das schmeckt genau so, wie man es sich beim Annoncieren vorstellt. Die lokal angebauten Tomaten sind sehr gut, besitzen aber keine Referenzqualität, die man bei einer solchen Produktschau vielleicht erwarten könnte. Das ist sommerlich-erfrischend und schmeckt gut, viel mehr aber auch nicht.

Von einem vollkommen anderen Kaliber ist die geeiste Pistazienblüte mit Olivengazpachuelo, Beluga-Kaviar, Pistazienschaum und Craft Beer. Mundfüllende Opulenz, durch die Zubereitung und die angenehm kühle Temperatur jedoch herrlich leicht. Natürlich geprägt von einer barocken Nussigkeit, kaum Süsse, viel jodiger Salinität und untermalt von einer tragenden, beschwingten Bitternote. Ebenso ungewöhnlich wir grossartig!

Bei den Quisquilla de Motril mit Maissuppe kommen gleich zwei Produkte zum Einsatz, die ich im Kontext der Hochküche oftmals eher kritisch wahrnehme. Zum einen neigen rohe Garnelen dazu, schleimig zu werden, wenn sie nicht von bester Qualität und Frische sind, zum anderen überdeckt der Mais gerne alles mit seiner dumpfen, pappigen Süsse. Nun, Sandoval bezieht offensichtlich bestes Grundmaterial. Die ausgelösten Schrimps sind herrlich süss, dezent jodig, und so frisch, dass sie beim herzhaften Zubeissen sogar ein wenig zu knacken scheinen. Und nein, das sind keine Reste der Schalen, auf die ich beisse. Auch den Mais rückt der Chef ins bestmögliche Licht. Die Süsse ist zwar da, klar, aber die Suppe mit ihrer Einlage aus frischen und gepoppten Maiskörnern ist würzig, hat eine leichte Schärfe und ergänzt die Meeresbewohner optimal. Schön.

Fordernder wird es beim Tatar von der blauen Krabbe mit Corail-Air, amerikanische Krabbe mit ihrem Kollagen, Frühlingszwiebeln und Ibarra-Chili-Paprika. Eine äusserst kräftige, fast schon ans penetrante grenzende Jodigkeit setzt sich beim ersten Bissen in der Nase und am Gaumen fest. Dieser Eindruck wird durch die rohen Zwiebeln kurzzeitig verstärkt, bevor die Schärfe das Ganze ein wenig eindämmt. Mit jeder Gabel wird es dann glücklicherweise harmonischer, so dass es zum Schluss sogar richtig gut schmeckt. Wie oftmals bei einem grossen Wein ist auch in diesem Fall der letzte Schluck - oder Bissen - der beste.

Mit mindestens eineinhalb Augen schielen die grünen Kichererbsen mit Pesto, Milchblumenschleier, Parmesan-Buttermilch und Basilikumperlen nach Italien. Sandoval interpretiert den spanischen Klassiker "Potaje de Garbanzos" neu mit würzigem Pesto und umamireicher Sauce. Gekonnt kontrastiert er die Wucht mit einem fein gewobenen Netz aus Säure und kräuteriger Frische. Unkomplizierter, dennoch mit genügend Tiefe behafteter Genuss auf hohem Niveau.

Eingelegte Foie Gras mit Amontillado-Sherry und Mango bedient sich an einer der klassischsten Kombination der modernen Haute Cuisine. Doch kaum jemals wird diese Kombo so auf den Punkt gebracht wie in diesem Fall. Die Reduktion aufs Wesentliche lässt auch keinen Raum mehr für Fehler. Die Leber ist von allerhöchster Qualität und perfekt zubereitet. Von betörendem Schmelz, dicht, luxuriös. Dazu das begleitende, optimal feinjustierte Zusammenspiel des satten, dunklen, nussigen und säurebetonten Weins mit der ausladenden Exotik der Mango. Nahe an der Perfektion.

Noch reduzierter ist der nächste Gang: Gepökelter Thunfischbauch mit Polyphenolen, Thunfischmark-Gazpachuelo und Thunfisch-Tatar mit grüner Mojo. Man könnte meinen, dass es sich hierbei eher um eine Produktschau als um ein durchdachtes, fertiges Gericht handelt. Sandoval legt zwar nur wenige, dafür aber entscheidende Handgriffe an. Jede Zubereitung ist pointiert gewürzt. Wunderbar herzhaft und von mundfüllender Saftigkeit geprägt. Kraftvoll und unheimlich elegant zugleich. Kaum jemals zuvor habe ich ein Gericht gegessen, das in seinem Purismus so unangreifbar war, wie dieses. Unfassbar köstlich, eine Produktreferenz und sich definitiv einen Platz in der The Important Stuff Hall of Fame sichernd. Aufwühlend gut.

Geräucherter Tintenfisch in seiner eigenen Tinte, gegrillte süsse Zwiebel aus Jaral de la Mira, Osetra-Kaviar und Suppe aus fermentiertem Gemüse hört sich spannend an, funktioniert aber nicht ganz so gut wie erhofft. Das liegt hauptsächlich an den Proportionen. Zwiebeln und Kaviar - die als Duo meines Erachtens nach kein “match made in heaven” sind - drängen den Tintenfisch in den Hintergrund. Da kämpft auch die Tinte gegen Windmühlen. Somit fehlt es an Balance und an einer gewissen Fleischigkeit, die der Tintenfisch eigentlich beisteuern könnte. So lässt sich nur erahnen, dass das wirklich funktionieren und tatsächlich sogar richtig gut schmecken könnte.

Zum Hauptgang widmet sich die Küche dem auf der iberischen Halbinsel zurecht so geschätzten Schwein, in der Form eines Spanferkels. Im Detail gibt es saftiges Fleisch und knusprige Haut, konfiertes Schweinekotelett mit Melasse sowie Saam vom Spanferkel mit Zitronengras und sauren Früchten. Konzeptionell ist dieser Gang dem Thunfisch zuvor sehr ähnlich, nur schmeckt es leider um Welten weniger gut. Das Fleisch ist okay, aber weit entfernt von grossartig oder gar einer Referenz. Auch wenn unterschiedliche Stücke serviert werden, ähneln sie sich in Geschmack und Textur so sehr, dass sie kaum zu unterscheiden sind. Lediglich das Saam, das an völlig aus den Fugen geratener Unausgewogenheit leidet, hebt sich (negativ) ab. Schade.

Das Sorbet von eingelegten Erdbeeren mit Käsekuchen-Popcorn und das Kirschencoulis mit Gewürzschokolade und Kaffeesahne kommen nach dem wenig überzeugenden Hauptgang wie gerufen. Zwei exzellent umgesetzte, total unkomplizierte Süssspeisen, die den Namen auch verdienen. Simpler Genuss, dem man sich nach einem ausgiebigen Menü ohne das Kopfkino anzuwerfen einfach hingeben kann.

Um die Gäste auf der Zielgeraden des vierstündigen Mahls nochmal richtig wachzurütteln, wird der Guéridon samt imposantem Bunsenbrenner an den Tisch gerollt. Es gibt allerdings keine Crêpe Suzette, sondern in der Kupferpfanne flambierte Heidelbeeren für das abschliessende Dessert. Durch den ausgetretenen Saft hat sich eine herrliche, ganz leicht karamellisierte Heidelbeersauce gebildet, in der die warmen Heidelbeeren schwimmen. Beeren und Sauce werden in ein Schüsselchen umgefüllt, dazu wird am Tisch eine Nocke von geräuchter Schafsmilcheiscrème serviert. Mit diesem Zweikomponentendessert trifft die Küche zum Schluss voll ins Schwarze. Man kann gar nicht anders, als dieses appetitliche zwischen heiss und kalt, tiefsommerlicher Beerigkeit und samtener Cremigkeit changierende Dessert im Nu wegzulöffeln.

Zum Espresso wird ein weisses Karussell auf den Tisch gestellt, auf dessen Figuren die Petits Fours seelenruhig im Kreis reiten. Fehlt nur noch das handelsübliche metallische Quietschen. Von diesem Auftritt kann man halten, was man will, die süssen Häppchen schmecken jedenfalls gut.

Das Ende meines Besuchs im Coque gleicht dem Anfang: Warten ist angesagt. Vor einigen Stunden waren es die verschlossenen Restauranttüren, nun ist es das Taxi, das zuerst einige Ehrenrunden um den Block dreht. Doch auch das klappt schlussendlich noch. Einmal auf dem Weg zum Flughafen fällt das Fazit zum Coque schnell. Das Mittagessen bei den Brüdern Sandoval wirkte wie ein komprimierter Querschnitt meines Kurztrips nach Madrid. In den besten Momenten atemberaubend, teilweise etwas durchzogen und in einigen wenigen Augenblicken ernüchternd. In knapp drei Tagen habe ich nur an der Oberfläche des kulinarischen Madrid gekratzt. Es ist sonnenklar, dass es hier noch viel Spannendes zu entdecken gibt und ich unbedingt wiederkommen muss. Auch für ein weiteres Essen im Coque. Denn ich werde das Gefühl nicht los, dass in der Küche von Mario Sandoval noch mehr Grossartiges steckt, als er heute schon gezeigt hat.

International Trans Day of Visibility

Today we are spotlighting a few of the books from our LGBTQ+ Collection that highlight trans lives and issues. Check out the photo captions to find out what books the images came from. 

International Transgender Day of Visibility was created in 2009 by therapist and transgender activist Rachel Crandall Crocker, partially as counterweight to Trans Day of Remembrance, a day of memoriam for all those lost to transgender violence. Crocker wanted "a day that we can just celebrate being ourselves.” More recently, Crocker spoke about the double-edge sword of visibility for trans folks, and called on allies of trans people to make themselves more visible. So for all the cis people reading this, think hard about how you are going to show up for the trans community today, and every day.

 Je suis arrivé au Guatemala en provenance du Salvador le mardi 16 février pour suivre la campagne électorale. J'allais parcourir le pays en proie à une guerre civile, dont on parlait très peu en Europe, le Salvador faisant les "unes" des quotidiens et magazines américains, et dans une moindre mesure des médias européens.

 Le pays est somptueux, mais cassé par cette guerre civile qui dura trente six ans, de 1960 à 1996. Les principales victimes furent les différentes ethnies des indiens maya.

 Il y aura plus de 200.000 morts, des dizaines de milliers de disparus et plus d'un million de déplacés. (Voir le journal du lundi 16 à aujourd'hui).

 Campagne électorale de Mario Sandoval Alarcon et de Lionel Sisniega Otero, candidats respectivement à la présidence et à la vice-présidence pour le parti MLN (Movimiento de Liberacion nacional), parti nationaliste et anti-communiste.

Alarcon se trouve ici dans la ville de Chiquimula, près de la frontière avec le Honduras. Cette ville est le fief du candidat conservateur.

 J'ai ressenti dès le début de ce meeting qu'il y avait quelque chose qui n'allait pas. La foule composée majoritairement d'indiens semblait enthousiaste, mais beaucoup plus par obligation que par support pour le candidat, comme si elle était surveillée.

 Alarcon a joué un rôle important dans les assassinats commis par les escadrons de la mort de la "mano blanca", la main blanche. Sandoval était aussi un responsable de la ligue anti-communiste.

PROHIBE OVISPO ACTOS DE PROSELITISMO EN CULTOS

El obispo Hilario González García dictó a los católicos los lineamientos para el proceso electoral del 2024 y prohibió a los sacerdotes de la Diócesis de Saltillo utilizar las reuniones de culto o evangelización para realizar actos de proselitismo o campañas políticas. Al mismo tiempo, a través de un documento dirigido al pueblo de Dios en la Diócesis de Saltillo, el obispo instruyó a los ministros de culto a abstenerse para realizar cualquier acto tendiente a presionar o inducir a cualquier persona a votar en algún sentido.

También se prohibió el uso de los templos y parroquias, tanto del interior como muros o fachadas exteriores, para realizar promoción o publicidad verbal, gráfica, estricta o de cualquier otra forma, en favor de algún candidato, partido o coalición política.

Fin del fuero eclesiástico. Sanciones a jerarcas religiosos

El 25 de enero el Tribunal Electoral del Poder Judicial de la Federación sancionó al arzobispo emérito de Guadalajara, Juan Sandoval Íñiguez; al arzobispo primado de México, Carlos Aguiar Retes, ambos cardenales, y a dos clérigos importantes: el rector de la Universidad Pontificia, Mario Ángel Flores, y al legionario de Cristo Ángel Espinosa de los Monteros Gómez Haro por llamar a votar contra el partido en el gobierno. El fallo ordenó a la Secretaría de Gobernación sanciones de ley por violación de los artículos 24 y 130 de la Constitución y sus reglamentaciones como la Ley de Asociaciones Religiosas y Culto Público y la legislación en materia electoral. Lo novedoso es que se sancione a jerarcas religiosos. Surgió una polémica de interpretaciones, la Conferencia del Episcopado Mexicano los defendió reivindicando la libertad de expresión de los clérigos mencionados. El fallo del Tribunal Electoral es ya cosa juzgada. ¿Qué sucedió? El Artículo 130 de la Constitución dice: ���e) Los ministros no podrán asociarse

Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy (2001)

jak, the vaugely anime-esque boy with no personality, and his way more personable best friend and sidekick daxter, sneak onto misty island for the epic lulz. one thing leads to another and daxter is accidentally knocked into some dark ooze and TFed into an ottsel, an otter weasel hybrid. finding him to be way too marketable now, jak and daxter embark on a quest to change him back to normal. that's all the story yer gettin, so time to make like mario and collect as many power stars cells as humanly possible.

while on paper this would be a bog standard 3d platformer collectathon game, there's a few things that set it apart. the big thing is you're not jumping into paintings or portals to go to different stages or something; rather, the entire world is interconnected, making this one of the first open world games so to speak. and the cool thing is there's hardly any load times! there is a drawback to this though; you have to leave each area the way you came in, and if you're not used to the level layout for each area it can take a while to find your way back. i know the last time i played this game years ago i got stuck on snowy mountain and got too infuriated to keep playing. not this time~!

missions range from "find the power cell somewhere in the stage" to "help out an NPC and they'll give you a power cell" or even "pay an npc with precursor orbs and they'll give you a power cell" and maybe sometimes you'll be like "find 7 red coins scoutflies and get a power cell" and there's the odd mission where it's all like "lick daxter's feet and he'll give you nothing in return also you have to get mouthwash now." okay i made that one up. or did i... ANYWAY, you'll be doing a lot of different things to get these power cells and it's all pretty fun and engaging. gotta catch em all!

the controls are pretty solid for the most part, although sometimes i ran into issues where jak just wouldnt double jump for some reason or wouldnt grab onto ledges. other than that though the movement was fun and i liked spinning around breaking crates. wait am i talking about crash bandicoot or... well, they ARE by the same developer. one other thing i had an issue was the health collectables. you only have three hit points, with no stat upgrades whatsoever to increase it. this wouldn't be that much of an issue if it didn't take 50 whole green eco orbs to replenish ONE hit point. for the record, most enemies just drop 3 or 4, and a lot of stages arent exactly brimming with enemies sometimes. so just dont get hit as much as possible. i feel like if they halved the amount of eco orbs to replenish your health this wouldve been mitigated somewhat.

there are also vehicle sections, where you ride a zoomer (no, not that kind of zoomer) to try and get from one "hub" area to the next. these make your controller vibrate like fucking crazy and whenever one finally ends i feel all weird and tingly. i dont know if this is a good or bad thing but hey it's worth mentioning.

the story is not really existent after the beginning of the game up until you near the end, which is fine for a game like this. i quite liked the ending where jak and daxter find some mystical energy that can defeat the bad guys but it could also change daxter back to normal, so he has to decide if he wants to either become unmarketable again or save the world from destruction. guess what happens. the music fits the game, its basically more subdued crash bandicoot music. not something i'd particularly listen to outside of the game but it does add to the lighthearted mood of the game. graphics are honestly still kind of amazing to this day; the characters look like living cartoons and the different environments are breathtaking. i love the shot when you first leave the green sage's hut and see sandover village sprawl before you; can't even imagine how amazing this must've looked back in 2001.

all in all, this is a solid, fun collectathon, a great first (and ultimately last) attempt at the genre by naughty dog. yeah, thats right, they never did anything like this again. a few months before this game came out, a little game known as grand theft auto iii came out and permanently changed gaming forever. it had all the open environments like this but with more gameplay variety besides jump here and collect stuff. more importantly you could steal peoples cars and shoot people in the face. so naughty dog took one look at this and said "this is just what our mascot platformer series NEEDS!" so in jak 2 you can ALSO steal peoples cars and shoot people in the face. and then they decided to cut the cartoony middle man entirely and make uncharted and the last of us, which use photorealistic graphics instead, and get rid of the open world shit and make it so it's JUST shooting people in the face. oh well, it was fun while it lasted!

EL GENERAL LUIS CRESENCIO SANDOVAL, TITULAR DE SEDENA, ME INFORMÓ QUE EL COMPAÑERO PRESIDENTE HABÍA DECIDIDO NO VENDER EL CAMPO MILITAR NÚMERO 1F

reo que fue a principios de 2017 que recibí una información que me parecía increíble: que estaba en venta el campo militar número 1F. Ese predio es de ocho y medio millones de metros cuadrados de bosque y está a la salida de la Ciudad de México entre Constituyentes y Reforma. Ahí se encuentra la Fábrica Real de Pólvora (hoy un monumento colonial) e instalaciones importantes de la industria militar mexicana. Bajo el pretexto de modernizar esta última, se pretendía vender en 1000 millones de dólares el citado predio.

Me llegaron diversos documentos y fotografías sobre la pretensión de vender esta zona militar. Una vez que constaté que la información era fidedigna, convocamos a una conferencia de prensa para dar a conocer tan grave hecho. Ni un solo medio acudió a la convocatoria y únicamente un par de medios virtuales dieron a conocer nuestra denuncia: SDPNoticias y Tiempos Modernos. Durante todo 2017, particularmente durante unos ocho meses, batallamos con nuestro intento de que la denuncia pública tomara fuerza. A pesar de las múltiples protestas que hicimos en el perímetro del campo militar citado, ningún medio cubrió, y mucho menos difundió, la importante denuncia que realizábamos. Recibimos amenazas de muerte, particularmente mi compañera y un servidor, sin que por ello recibiéramos la mínima atención y cobertura de los medios tradicionales. Sin embargo, no desistimos en realizar nuestra denuncia mediante las redes sociales. Después de mucho batallar, a finales de 2017, varios senadores del PT-Morena apoyaron nuestra denuncia de la venta del campo militar número 1F rompiendo nuestro aislamiento. En la denuncia de este intento de remate del patrimonio nacional se habían destacado el senador Mario Delgado y la senadora Layda Sansores. El propio senador Manuel Bartlett había apoyado la denuncia y nos habían dado una urgente y oportuna cobertura.

La situación fue tan realmente peligrosa que en mayo de 2019, el coronel Sergio Gallardo Bonilla, quien había advertido de las dificultades que enfrentarían la venta del campo militar número 1F, apareció muerto y se dio como versión oficial que se había suicidado. Estaba comisionado en Cancún después de encabezar el proyecto de venta del campo militar citado. Finalmente, después de la muerte del coronel y con la denuncia que finalmente logró publicarse en los diarios Reforma y El Universal, se anunció por parte del gobierno federal que se cancelaba la decisión de vender dicho predio. Por todo lo anterior fue verdaderamente sorpresivo que el compañero presidente López Obrador anunciara la venta del campo militar número 1F, en los primeros días de su gobierno. Frente a las críticas que recibió ante tal decisión y mi propio posicionamiento planteando que era un error dar ese paso, el compañero presidente anunció que sólo se construiría en las zonas que ya habían sido afectadas.

Es decir, se construirían departamentos de lujo para financiar la Guardia Nacional sólo en las áreas donde ya se habían realizado construcciones. Anunció también que se llevaría a cabo una consulta para validar o no esta decisión. En lo personal, yo consideraba que esa salida no era solución y que no se debería vender ni un milímetro del campo militar número 1F. Valoré realizar una protesta a principios de enero, en las afueras del campo militar, pero consideré que la idea de la consulta permitiría abrir un debate serio sobre la venta del citado predio.

También pensé que el gobierno de la Ciudad de México podría detener la construcción por las dificultades de lo que hoy llaman movilidad, de abasto de agua y de potencial destrucción del bosque que esto implicaba. Entramos en un paréntesis y finalmente decidí hacer un último esfuerzo para tratar de convencer a nuestro gobierno del yerro que esta decisión implicaba. Conversé la semana pasada telefónicamente con el secretario de la Defensa Nacional, el general Luis Cresencio Sandoval González, quien resultó un hombre extraordinariamente accesible y gentil.

Él me informóque el compañero Presidente había tomado la decisión de no vender absolutamente nada del campo militar número 1F. Que las únicas construcciones que se harían, serían de vivienda para los militares que vivían en el campo de Santa Lucía y se trasladarían a la zona habitacional ya existente en el campo militar número 1F. Como ustedes comprenderán, me pareció una extraordinaria buena noticia. Se demostró una vez más la sensibilidad y el compromiso de nuestro compañero presidente López Obrador. Considero relevante contar esta anécdota política y la comparto con ustedes en esta mi primera colaboración formal en El Heraldo de México.

Desenfrenada y prematura carrera por la sucesión gubernamental

Maremágnum » RICARDO | CASTILLO BARRIENTOS ) Acapulco Press El estado de Guerrero comenzó a navegar en turbulentas aguas políticas, debido a los prematuros destapes de aspirantes a las candidaturas partidistas para suceder a la gobernadora Evelyn Salgado Pineda, al frente de la administración pública estatal, a casi tres años que concluya su periodo de gobierno. El inusitado escenario no se había presentado en anteriores sucesiones gubernamentales con bastante anticipación, propiciándose una desenfrenada carrera de ambiciones políticas perturbadoras, que están generando inestabilidad y distracción, de los ancestrales problemas de Guerrero. Se está confeccionando una larga y endeble lista de suspirantes de ambos géneros, con mayor presencia las ante precandidatas y ante precandidatos de MORENA, con presencia nacional y local, como la senadora Beatriz Mojica, las subsecretarias del gobierno federal, Esthela Damián Peralta, Rocío Barcena Molina y la alcaldesa porteña, Abelina López Rodríguez. Por el frente masculino figuran, el senador Félix Salgado Macedonio, Arturo Martinez Nuñez, secretario de Arte y Cultura del CEN, el coordinador de la JUCOPO, Jesús Urióstegui García, el presidente del comité estatal, Jacinto González Varona, Ricardo Salinas Méndez, oficial mayor del gobierno estatal, el diputado local, Pablo Sandoval Ballesteros y el senador suplente, Arturo Pérez. Por el lado del PRI, se encamina solitario el senador Manuel Añorve Baños, coordinador parlamentario en el Senado de la República y factótum del PRI-Guerrero y prominente aliado de Alejandro “Alito” Moreno Cárdenas, presidente “vitalicio” del CEN del PRI. Por Movimiento Ciudadano (MC) existen dudas, si el ex alcalde chilpancingueño, Mario Moreno Arcos, se mantendrá firme en este partido o elevará anclas para vestir la casaca verde del PVEM, con el inconveniente que tendría mano, el alcalde de Iguala, Erik Catalán Rendón, postulado por este partido a la alcaldía tamarindera. El controvertido empresario, Pedro Segura Valladares, podría obtener por segunda ocasión, la candidatura del PT. Por el casi inexistente PRD, entraría a la puja por segunda ocasión, el inefable, Evodio Velázquez Aguirre. Los del PAN, ni sus luces hasta el momento. Por la libre circula a pasos agigantados, el rector Javier Saldaña Almazán, quien buscaría alzarse con la candidatura morenista con el apoyo de la gobernadora Salgado Pineda y del senador Félix Salgado, además del eventual apoyo de la presidenta Claudia Sheinbaum, en compensación al gran activismo político desplegado con las huestes universitarias, durante la campaña presidencial de la actual mandataria nacional. La mayoría de los aspirantes están ”desatados”, recorriendo el territorio suriano en tareas proselitistas, con el afán de darse a conocer para aglutinar a simpatizantes y posicionarse, cuando se realicen las encuestas de MORENA. Sin embargo, deberían de calmar sus “ansias de novillero”, a fin de no obstruir y afectar con esa insana dinámica política, la marcha de la administración pública estatal. Marea Baja.- Todavía no existen noticias de la conclusión del Hospital de Especialidades del ISSSTE, en las ex instalaciones del Centro de Convenciones, prometida su inauguración para antes que concluyera su mandato, el presidente Andrés Manuel López Obrador. ELIGEN ESTE VIERNES AL DEPORTISTA DEL AÑO 2024

Ciudad Juárez, Chih., jueves 14 de noviembre de 2024.-En entrevista con la regidora de la comisión de deportes del Municipio, Karla Escalante Ramírez, nos habla sobre la elección del Deportista del Año 2024 que se llevará a cabo este viernes en las instalaciones del Instituto Municipal del Deporte, entre otras cosas

Con un total de 39 candidatos, este viernes se realizará en las instalaciones del Instituto Municipal del Deporte y Cultura Física de Juárez, la votación para elegir al Deportista de Año 2024.

El Comité Elector está formado por 11 periodistas de los diferentes medios de comunicación de la ciudad, la jefa del área de Deporte Federado del IMDEJ, Ericka Guardado; y la Regidora encargada de la Comisión del Deporte, Karla Escalante, para un total de 13 votos.

En caso de que haya empate, el Director del IMDEJ, Juan Escalante, será el encargado de dar su voto en la terna.

Las 11 categorías que estarán compitiendo en esta votación son Deportista del Año, Talento Deportivo, Atleta paralímpico, Entrenador Amateur y Profesional, Deportista Profesional, Equipo Amateur y Profesional, Promotor Deportivo Amateur y Profesional; además de Maestro de Educación Física.

Para la categoría de Deportista del Año, se recibieron seis currículos pertenecientes a Blanca Camila Granillo Palacios, de taekwondo; Etiel Soto Maldonado, de atletismo; Clemente Lara Palomino, de taekwondo; Paulina Luna, de rodeo; Diana Alejandra Rosales Núñez, de judo; y Valeria Muñoz Receles, de boxeo.

En Talento Deportivo, se registraron 11 deportistas como Jireh Paulina Zamarripa, Gael Marentes Trujillo y Roberto Aguirre Villela, de taekwondo; Gerardo Hernández Aguirre y Ángel Eduardo Botello Muñoz, de atletismo; Kenneth Damián Alba Ruíz, de ajedrez; Mariana Deneb Carrillo Rodríguez, Emilio Alexander Falcón Díaz y Fernanda Isabella Sandoval Soto, de judo; Mateo Isaías Holguín Aguirre, artes marciales; y Audrick Montaño Ávila, de tochito bandera.

En Atleta Paralímpico se recibieron tres expedientes correspondientes a Lorenzo Antonio Valles Rivera y Pablo Samuel Larreta García, de atletismo; y Melissa Alvarado Nevárez, de natación.

En Entrenador Amateur, son seis los candidatos: Oscar Manuel Chávez, Karim Hernández, Juan Antonio Vázquez Polanco, José Luis Vázquez Magallanes, Francisco Lozoya Puentes y Fernando Alonso Soto Franco.

En las categorías de Deportista y Entrenador profesional se recibieron un currículum por cada una, de Miriam “Puppy” Hernández y Javier Enock Solís, de manera respectiva.

Como Equipo Amateur se inscribieron Karim Taekwondo y el equipo de basquetbol Master Ciudad Juárez.

Como Equipo Profesional están en la terna Indomables, de voleibol y Jefes, de futbol Americano.

Como Promotor Deportivo Amateur, Jorge Amaya, de taekwondo; y Marco Antonio “Chueco” Solís están en la terna.

Como Promotor Deportivo Profesional, estarán compitiendo José Luis Mayrán, de Rodeo; y César Durán, de los Jefes de futbol americano.

En la terna de Maestro de Educación Física, hubo tres registros que corresponden a Luis Enrique Tamay, Luis Carlos Delgado y José Gustavo Luján.

The World Anti-Communist League, having adopted the cause of "freedom fighters" around the world, includes many members whose own political activities and philosophies belie the very idea of freedom or democracy. Despite the new WACL "pro-freedom" image displayed in Dallas, WACL remains rife with Nazis, racists, and death squad leaders. Among the delegates at the convention were:

Mario Sandoval Alarcon, whose National Liberation Movement (NLM) party organized the White Hand death squads in Guatemala in the 1960s. The NLM was reportedly responsible for the murders of eight to ten thousand civilians in 1966 and 1967. According to investigative reporter Craig Pyes, Sandoval introduced El Salvador’s neo-fascist leader Roberto D’Aubuisson to his WACL contacts in Argentina. They later arranged for Argentinean generals to visit El Salvador to help set up safe houses from which death squad operations were carried out. D’Aubuisson, who was recently forced out as head of the ARENA party, has announced he will head a political institute in San Salvador affiliated with WACL. Dr. Yaroslav Stetsko, a member of the WACL Executive Board, was a prominent Nazi collaborator who briefly headed a puppet government in the Ukraine. Joe Conason, Murray Waas, and Kevin Coogan reported in the Village Voice on other Nazis in attendance, including Chirila Ciuntu of Canada, a member of the Rumanian Iron Guard, notorious for its pogroms against the Jews in the early 1940s, and Ivan Kosiak, a member of the wartime pro-Nazi Byelorussian Central Council. Dr. Manuel Frutos, also a member of the WACL Executive Board, chaired the 1979 WACL conference in Paraguay, said to have been the "most Nazified" of all their annual meetings, at which former Nazi SS officers and wanted neo-fascists from Italy were present. Benito Guanes, former chief of Paraguayan military intelligence, who supplied passports for Chilean agents who came to the U.S. to assassinate Orlando Letelier. John K. Singlaub, head of the CIA's "counter terror program" in Vietnam in 1965, according to Anthony Herbert's book, Soldier. This operation, the Intelligence Coordination and Exploitation Program — later known as the Phoenix Program — ran assassination units which killed thousands of Vietnamese civilians. In 1978, Singlaub was reassigned from command of U.S. troops in Korea for insubordination after repeated public attacks on President Carter’s Korea policy. Singlaub announced in Dallas that in honor of the twelfth anniversary of the "military overthrow of the Allende regime in Chile" and the ninety-eighth anniversary of the "Paraguayan Republic," congratulations would be sent to General Pinochet and the head of the ruling Paraguayan Colorado Party. Takeshi Furuta, representative of the International Federation for Victory Over Communism, the original political organization of the Unification Church of the Rev. Sun Myung Moon. Moon asserts that democracy must be replaced with "unificationism" in order to strengthen the West for the final assault on communism. Moon also blames the Jews for the death of Christ and explains the suffering of the Jews in history, including the Nazi holocaust, as "indemnity" for this "collective sin." William Starr, a Moonie from Tucson, Arizona, attended Moon's CAUSA as an observer. (Osami Kuboki, a longtime member of the WACL Executive Board, was not present in Dallas; he heads the Japanese WACL chapter, which is dominated by the Unification Church, whose Japanese branch he also leads.) Hubert Kelly of the Christian Patriots Defense League (CPDL) was present as an official observer. According to an Anti-Defamation League report, "racism and anti-Semitism are an integral part of the CPDL ministry." The group’s official statement of purpose, signed by president John Harrell, says CPDL is "dedicated to the preservation of Anglo-Saxon, American-type culture… We believe the forced mixing of races of people is a self-evident, obvious, proven tragedy. We believe such forced integration results in racial suicide, creating an endangered species problem." … CPDL runs several paramilitary training camps in the U.S.
