Whenever I see those 'miraculous out of context' compilations it's so funny bc it's really just like. Clips of the characters being really blunt and socially unaware, like interrupting or not realizing what they're saying is random and unrelated. Like god they're all just fucking autistic.
They seriously might as well change the name to 'miraculous autism moment compilation' or something like wtf

an interaction i had with my partner that is coded like post-reveal aged-up adrienette:
a: *sees pet cat, grabs it, rolls onto his back, suplexes the cat over his shoulder and stands back up* did you see me just utterly decimate my cat?
m: *laughing in bewilderment at her boyfriend's antics*
a: no seriously, look how shocked he is *points at normal looking cat* he doesn't know how to recover
m: *still laughing*
a: oh also the reason I asked for help earlier was because the Gatorades don't fit in the door of the fridge and so I kinda shoved them in and I was trying to get one out and I started to pull the frame out of the door...
m: *watches in laughter as he attempts to pull another Gatorade out of the door of the fridge and struggles*
a: *finally gets the Gatorade out and drinks some, getting Gatorade all over his face*
m: *tries to kiss him but it's wet* ew wipe off your face
a: you were just trying to taste the Gatorade huh
I'd draw it but im utter shit at drawing. if only y'all could see this....

Wanted to keep the original tags but I just HAD to reblog because omg
imagine marinette getting told by friends and family Hey Girl. we think you might have adhd. and they cite symptoms she shows but she accidentally connects them to stuff she started doing after she became ladybug and now shes like OH NO… if i deny this disorder they will suspect my identity… YEAH I TOTALLY HAVE ADHD YOU GUYS!!!! so she thinks she’s keeping it up for her superhero life and nods along to all the tips and tricks for adhd people her loved ones find on the internet. she flashes smiles as they hand her meds that could help and only pretends to take them because she’s Lying About It Right. but then one day at patrol chat noir tells her hey um recently a friend of mine was diagnosed with adhd. have you heard of it? because i think you might have it. and her eye twitches
#this#this is everything#and so correct#I always knew she reminded me of one of my friends#but I never knew why#BUT THIS IS WHY#my friend has adhd and she always gets mari#y’all it’s all making sense#miraculous ladybug#marinette dupain cheng#ladynoir

i think marinette's neurodivergency is the kind of neurodivergency where everyone's like 'no, yeah, she totally has adhd.' but adrien has spent so much of his life masking that even he doesn't even realise that maybe there's something goin on in his noggin.
but YEARS after they start dating, when theyre like 18/19 and have first moved in together, marinette notices that adrien has a tendency to just... sporadically info dump. just very random chunks of information on things with absolutely no preamble nor explanation of context afterwards.
one night at like, 2am, marinette's just about to drift off to sleep when adrien's like, "are you awake?" thinking he had a nightmare she's like yes of course chaton what's on your mind? he's quiet for a moment before, in a single stream of speech, says "did you know in england they found this man called the cheddar man in cheddar cave? they made this 3d bust of him and it showed that he had dark skin and blue eyes. and apparently this was actually a super common thing because as a species we started off as dark skinned and white skin was actually a genetic mutation that just persisted in the north because we didn't need the UV protection from melanin. and since there were literally thousands of years before we actually got distinct ethnic phenotypes, does that mean in a thousand years the phenotypes will be even more different? what if people develop purple eyes? or blue skin, like avatars? like how do we know that won't happen? and if it did happen how would makeup brands know when to start introducing new foundation shades? at what point will the population have to grow for mac to release, like, a purple concealer line?"
marinette just looks at him and says "do you want to try my adderall tomorrow?"

Why I love Marinette Dupain Cheng
So, I just watched the London Special and I have feelings!!
I want to preface this by saying that I very much didn't resonate with the second half of season five for a lot of different reasons, but that the special really worked for me, gave me what I needed to get to a place to be excited about the potential of season six.
Marinette is a 14 year old superhero who is fundamentally a good person. She tries to do right by others, and when she realizes that she's done harm she genuinely tries to fix it. Now, her character is often portrayed as someone with ADHD. She is subject to tunnel vision, hyperfixating, anxiety spirals, and not always being great at taking other perspectives into account. She's never been good at anticipating how her actions and choices might hurt someone else.
And I LOVE that about her!!!
You know who else is not great about taking other people's perspectives? Fourteen year olds!! Developmentally, they're LEARNING THIS AT THIS AGE!! They're also LEARNING to make decisions and accept responsibility. And they are NOT good at it!! Take it from someone who works with fifteen years olds DAILY!! Even the most "good" well behaved teenager does and says thoughtless harmful things that hurt others sometimes in excruciating ways. And you ask them, "What were you thinking?" after it's blown up in their face and the answer is ALWAYS, "I don't know" OR "I wasn't thinking."
Developmentally, middle school is about fitting in. It is not easy for kids at this age to stand up for what is right, to make decisions that are healthy, to communicate in healthy ways. Marinette's whole character is about learning to do that! And to showcase that you have to show her making mistakes, sometimes even big ones, and learning to take responsibility for those choices.
Marinette salt hurts me so much because the salt seems to paint her at this malicious manipulative girl who wants to control Adrien and the world on whole. That she's malicious in the choices that she's made.
Meanwhile, the narrative is not framing her as in the right when she makes these choices. Kagami told her she disagreed in almost the first scene. Nathalie told her it was time to tell the truth. Throughout the whole special, it's obvious how much the choice she made is weighing on her, how much she's wondering if this was right. She seems to know on some level that it isn't.
THAT IS SO RELATABLE!!!
Have you ever lied to a friend or to your parents? And then, realized huh, I probably shouldn't have done that, but now you're in too deep and don't know how to take it back? Have you ever NOT told someone about a hard truth about themselves or about you because you didn't want to hurt their feelings, and then have to watch as they get hurt or rejected again and again because they just don't realize what the problem is??? Or confronted with someone around you who has lost a lot and just not sure at all what to do in the face of all that? And then to be given the choice to maybe ease the hurt of that loss with a lie? You think you WOULDN'T at least CONSIDER doing that for someone you love??
Do I think it will bite her in the butt? YES!! AND I AM HERE TO SEE IT!
Nathalie tells Marinette they should tell the truth. And Marinette's like, "but you'll go to jail." And Nathalie nods, accepting this. "But then Adrien will be alone." And Nathalie responds with "he'll have you."
DO YOU KNOW HOW TERRIFYING THAT WOULD BE TO HER??
If she does tell the truth, Adrien DOES lose Nathalie. That would hurt him too. Adrien DOES have to deal with the backlash of being Hawkmoth's son both inside his own head and with the world at large. And maybe in the long term, that would be the better choice. But how many of us choose what's better in the long term??? (THE ANSWER HERE IS ALMOST ZERO! I DON'T CARE HOW OLD YOU ARE!)
Bunnyx tells her there will consequences good and bad to every decision she makes. And what matters is how she faces the consequences. How she tries to take responsibility for them in the future.
Marinette is not trying to hurt Adrien here. She's not trying to manipulate or control him. It also doesn't mean she thinks what Gabriel did was right or that she condones his actions. It certainly doesn't mean she's okay with abuse. Everyone saying that she is has the benefit of the global perspective of knowing everything in the show! Marinette does NOT have that perspective.
Does that mean she isn't causing harm? No! She IS probably causing harm here. As so many of us do unintentionally, or sometimes even knowing that we're doing it because doing something else feels impossible to face in that moment.
And when the truth comes out, and I do think Gabriel's identity will come out (I'm less confident about the senti reveal, but that's more because they're literally not allowed to say the words), Adrien is going to have a LOT to work through. But the thing about Adrien, that all of his defenders seem to misunderstand, is that HE IS FORGIVING! If she explains it all to him, he will be angry and maybe hurt, but he is also going to be the first to understand. He's been the one right there next to her with a front row seat to all the pressures she had to face often completely on her own. I think she will be way more angry and hard on herself than he will be on her. That's kinda who his character is. He's NOT VENGEFUL.
This whole show from the beginning has been about characters making mistakes, sometimes learning from them, and being forgiven for them!! And it's the FORGIVENESS AND UNDERSTANDING given to each other after the fact that has brought the characters together time and time again. Watch origins and look at the class dynamic. Then watch guilt trip. The class has come together in a way they absolutely were not in the beginning! Because they have gotten to know each other and forgave each other. Watch Alya apologize to Marinette for telling Nino about still being the fox, and watch Marinette smile and say she knows what it feels like to need to share your secret with your best friend! Watch Ladybug ask Chat Noir if he understands the weight of a secret, and have him dryly agree that he is familiar with the feeling.
They are all flawed characters who make mistakes, who do things that hurt each other even when they're are trying SO HARD to do the opposite, and that's why I love them!!
I like characters making mistakes! I like there to be conflict in my stories.
And what I love about miraculous is that so far, the resolution to conflicts has always been one of listening to each other, and coming to a place of understanding and forgiveness.
#Marinette Dupain Cheng#miraculous ladybug#london special#didn't have much to do about london#but whatever#My girl is amazing#BECAUSE she is flawed#BECAUSE she tries to be good#BECAUSE she still makes mistakes#don't know why fans always expect characters to be perfect#to make the RIGHT choices#THAT WOULD BE SO BORING#Assuming we even agree on what the right choice is#ml spoilers#ml fandom salt

marinette does have adhd but i do not believe she has developed enough self awareness yet to realize she’s bad at time management. marinette actually thinks she’s superior at time management and that her multitasking is very efficient and actually the best way to get things done. how could she be bad at time management when she’s juggling school, superheroing, hobbies, friends, family, a boyfriend, secret iden—what do you mean school started 20 minutes ago???

While I don’t think the senti-kid story necessarily works if the writers wanted to keep the show focused on kids, I think it would’ve gone over a bit better if it was just Felix who was the senti, rather than also Adrien and Kagami (especially Kagami, she was a complete retcon in that regard).
Picture this:
Gabriel, Emilie, and Natalie find the Miraculous (Butterfly and Peacock) because they have an expensive hobby (archeology/collecting rare items, as wealthy people like to do), not because they need the magic at all. They just heard a rumor of an old Tibetan monastery and wanted to check it out, got lucky in finding the two jewels. The Peacock doesn’t even have to be broken.
We can keep the basics of the backstory shown in Representation- minus the detail of Adrien being made with the Peacock. Gabriel and Emilie conceive Adrien normally, but Colt and Amelie aren’t able to like in canon, so Colt has that same jealous outburst at Gabriel. Because Emilie feels bad for her sister, and Gabriel sees an opportunity to make a deal, they lend, or maybe trade, the Peacock to them to create a child. As in canon, Colt uses it, and his jealousy makes Felix a physical copy of Adrien.
Emilie gets sick for non-magical reasons. (I wouldn’t mind having her use it for funsies and not realizing it was broken, but it’s very obviously cracked, and I can’t imagine at least one of their two kwamis not giving them a warning.) As for what happens to Colt, I’m on the fence about him being alive in present times because that kind of abuse is really heavy, so maybe he just dies for unsaid reasons (though I vote Amelie poisoned him or something).
This version would allow for a really cool contrast between Adrien and Felix’s stories and characters. You have Adrien, a normal human, capable of disobedience, but who bends easily under others and is a people-pleaser. Versus Felix, a senti being magically compelled to obey orders of whoever has his amok, but fights to be free every chance he gets. That contrast would also further Felix’s frustration and jealousy of Adrien, in addition to his own father’s hatred of him and being identical to his cousin, because Felix would kill for Adrien’s free will, but he squanders it. But then there’s also the issue that he’s essentially victim blaming Adrien, not realizing that magic isn’t the only way to force obedience- not to mention ignoring the times that Adrien did stand up for himself (like running away to school). I think that would be a really great discussion of free will, how jealousy can blind you, family conflict (and resolution), and how different kinds of abuse/trauma aren’t automatically better than each other just because they’re opposites (ex: someone with heatstroke shouldn’t be jealous of someone with frostbite. Both suck.) The intensity might be worse for each circumstance (since Felix has magical abuse and physical+verbal abuse), but he would be in the wrong for saying Adrien has it easy.
(I think at this point my ADHD is over-explaining, so I’ll leave it at that lol)
Do you think a route like that would’ve improved the show at all? I’d love to hear your thoughts!
The sentiplot has many issues and one of the big ones is that it's not a great fit for a show where Marinette is the one and only main character. They've given Kagami, Felix, and Adrien this massive weight that begs for them to take center stage for at least a few episodes, but probably a whole season or two. The show isn't going to do that, so it's near impossible to really fix the sentiplot without truly massive changes to canon.
That being said, I think that this idea would have vastly improved the sentiplot in its current form! Right now, the senti thing truly doesn't matter to Adrien's character. His mom could have gotten sick for any random reason and the only meaningful change would be that Gabriel couldn't use the rings to keep Adrienette from kissing that one time. Outside of that, Adrien's status has no meaningful effect on the story. It doesn't even keep him out of the final! He does that on his own! The senti thing is just there for cheap drama.
There's also the issue that the current storyline makes the Agreste's look awful which is clearly not the story's goal. Emilie is supposed to be an angel and Gabriel is supposed to be a grief-stricken man who loves his family. That doesn't fit with the kind of monsters who would make a magical designer slave to be their child and then wear his control rings around as daily accessories. Remember, they picked their freaking wedding rings for his slave collars! Most people wear those every day. The implications are nasty!
It makes way more sense for the Agreste's to have the peacock for more mundane reasons and for Colt to get it somehow. Maybe even have him steal it after he finds out about it to really remove the Ageste's from the perfect slave child issue. This allows for the contrast between Gabriel and Colt that canon so clearly wanted, but failed to write. It also makes Felix's actions towards Adrien make way more sense. It feels like canon Felix hates Adrien and we still don't know why that is.
As nebulous as Felix's character is, he still feels like the kind of character who needs to be tied to something like the sentiplot. It's part of the reason I don't think I can use him in my own stuff. The sentiplot is - or at least should be - such a major, defining thing for him that the only possible way to use him is to keep that plot or to give him a plot about freeing the Kwamis since they're also slaves and his abusive childhood could make him feel a bond with them.
Focusing the sentistruggle on Felix instead of spreading it out to include Adrien and Kagami would also keep the sentistuff from dominating the story. Making the male romantic lead an artificial being without true free will whose creation killed his mother is a massive thing that needs to be the focus of his character for the rest of the story. People are on the edge of their seats waiting for Adrien to learn the truth and want this to be a big plot. I do not think they're going to get that, but they should.
Having a side character be the artificial human allows this to be something that is dealt with and then Felix either leaves or fades into the background once his story is over because his story allowed to have an ending whenever they want it to. That's not true for Adrien. Adrien's ending is happily every after with Marinette and the sentiplot needlessly complicates that plan because it means that Adrien's character is always going to be center stage, making people want the sentiplot to mean something since it's apparently impossible for him to ever be a real boy who has true free will. That's such a massive thing that it begs for Adrien to be the main character, which is an asinine writing choice. I have no idea why they keep giving Adrien all this massive narrative weight. You don't do that if you want the female romantic lead to be the main focus! You do it if you want them to be true costars or if you want the male lead to get the majority of the focus. This is writing 101!
As you said at the top, I'm not sure how well this works for a show aimed at five-year-olds because it's still a pretty heavy stuff, but as a general idea, I'd be down to watch it! I didn't have a ton to add to this one because your pitch was already excellent!

Fandom headcanons that I love
Marinette is a caffeine addict.
Alya is an MCU fan.
Adrien is obsessed with croissants.
Chat Noir gets offended when Ladybug pets or plays with other cats.
Nino has an obsession with potatoes.
Nathalie is in love with Emelie (though that's sorta canon isn't it?)
Everyone crushed on Marinette at one point.
Adrien possesses the most Ladybug merch.
Marinette creates Chat Noir merch- mainly for herself though.
Adrien recognises that the scarf was made by Marinette because he finds her signature on the fabric.
Marinette, Alya, Nino and Adrien often do dumb shit when they hang out, be it intentionally or unintentionally.
Adrien wants to marry both Marinette and Ladybug (pre-reveal).
Marinette has ADHD and the rest of the core four are neurodivergent too.
#miraculous ladybug#miraculous ladybug and chat noir#there's also so much more but i can't think of any right now#i'm talking about the popular fandom headcanons btw and not personal ones#cos majority of my personal headcanons are very niche lol

I'm really surprised at how many people are taking away from Derision that the thing that ruined Marinette was Kim's prank. Because it wasn't about Kim - it was about Chloe.
The reason why we have so much flashback in this episode is to show that Chloe was making Marinette's life hell every day. Marinette is afraid to go to school because of Chloe. Marinette is nervous to open her locker because of Chloe. Marinette is late to class and gets in trouble because of Chloe, because Chloe is relentlessly harassing her.
This isn't even just implied. There's a whole conversation in which we see that many people like Marinette and she has friends she sits with at lunch because the cafeteria is the one place that Chloe isn't ruining her life, and Chloe immediately shows up and tells Marinette that the last safe space she has in the school isn't going to be safe anymore.
Then Chloe proves that she's right! She manipulated Kim to mess with Marinette outside of school, and Chloe is right there to take a picture. That's the point. That's why Marinette says that "above all I'll make sure they aren't friends with Chloe". She knows exactly what's happening because it's been happening to Marinette for years. Chloe chose Marinette as her favorite person to bully and did not let up on her for multiple years, and by the end of the last year of middle school it had reached the point that Marinette couldn't even count on her life outside of class to not be under Chloe's attack.
It's not paranoia either! Chloe has gotten people fired! Chloe worked specifically to give Marinette a reputation at the school of being a bad kid - one who doesn't come to class on time, who is clowning around and taking up everyone's attention, who is consistently blaming Chloe for all her problems as consistently as Chloe as bullying her. Socqueline is literally expelled for standing up to Chloe, which means every time they've threatened to expel Marinette for the same she's right to be afraid!
As an adult who has worked in the school system, this is painfully real. I saw so many kids who would consistently get in trouble despite the fact that they were the ones being bullied. It happened to me when I was a kid in middle school and high school because I was the weird kid with ADHD who couldn't sit still. It doesn't take much for a kid to get a reputation, and for teachers to spread around and share that some kids shouldn't ever be believed or listened to.
The episode explains that Marinette knows the system will not help her. Marinette has reached out for help and been called a liar for years. She's looked to her fellow students for help and found them all silent. She has been attacked by people with wealth and power because they don't think she's high class enough to be in their presence.
Why do people believe Lila? Why do people ignore Marinette? Why is she consistently paranoid about being hurt, about thinking other people are trying to deceive her? Why is Marinette terrified of relying on anyone other than herself?
Because Chloe bullied her for years, destroyed her school career, and convinced her first crush to pretend to be into her as a joke just so they could post it on social media. And that whole time, there was one person who stood up for her, and it ended with that person being expelled from school.
Trauma isn't always just one incident. Sometimes it's years of a pattern of behavior that informs the way you see the world, and it makes the people around you think that you're crazy and paranoid and that you're always seeing dangers that aren't there.
If you want to hate on the show or hate on Marinette, fine, but don't belittle how much this sucks. This is a real thing that real kids experience all the time. This is what bullying actually looks like, the consistent neverending drip of misery that convinces people that safety is an impossible dream.
It wasn't one bad proposal. It was a pattern of systemic abuse and neglect for years.

HELLLLOOOOOO! 🌟I liked @teamoon7 ‘s designs so I suggested doing something together. We decided to redraw this scenes with our own designs! Hope you like them!
I was hoping to make posts about Miraculous and sharing my rewrite but I got bored of it 😭 Damn you ADHD!
Anyway I kinda already like Chatnoir’s design so I can’t say I’ve changed much. Also there is not much to do with black cat concept haha. I added yellows because black was too much and leaved hand open because it looks cool and sexy maybe lmao. I made his hair as messy as much because like in the show Adrian becomes very outgoing and silly character once he transforms. I kinda wanted to show how he is more open a personality wise by making his hair facing more to sides (if that makes sense 😭) . When he is “Adrian” he has more tided hair. As Chatnoir he has more sharper face shape than his “Adrian version”. He still has pockets near his belt under yellow lines. I thought greens were too less so I added those lines like whiskers maybe? I had more greens but I got rid of them.
He is same as personality wise just more silent and closed as Adrian and more socially awkward. He is the first person to start developing feelings to Marinette because of her talent as both fashion designer and as Ladybug. Marinette starts with idolizing and adoring him. Then she will start to fell in love (maybe sooner than Adrian) but she will deny her feelings for a long time (at least till they defeat Hawkmoth) because she don’t want to “waste” her time and focus with such things.
I had this black parts in his hair (as whiskers?) in my first designs but I got rid of them. I like it but I guess it s too much. What do you think?
Also here is a sooner design. And my first Adrian design.

Friends and fellow miraculers! I need help!
For the miraculous AU I’m creating, what kind of things did you think the original series were lacking in/could’ve elaborated on? Comment below!! I’ll list some themes/struggles to overcome I was thinking about below. I’d appreciate the feedback!!
Also, when I post stuff I’ll make sure to include trigger warnings :)
Marinette’s struggles/flaws - severe social anxiety, panic attacks, depression, self-sabotaging tendencies, anxious attachment style that leads to stalking from past social trauma, girl bullying
Ladybug’s struggles/flaws - PTSD, trust issues, celebrity struggles (sexualisation, privacy invasion, slander, etc.), headstrong/defensive
Adrien’s struggles/flaws - Chronic people pleaser that puts others before himself and causes people to get hurt inadvertently, easily peer pressured (into situations, drugs, etc), ADHD, wants nothing more than to please his dad, no social intelligence, skewed perspectives of relationships, depression, celebrity struggles (sexualisation, privacy invasion, paparazzi/stalkers), model struggles (sexualisation, assault, coercion, drugs, anorexia, dehydration), neglect, loss
Chat Noir’s struggles/flaws - Rejection, PTSD, spontaneous/impulsive, fueled by emotion
Chloe’s struggles/flaws - Narcissism, parental abuse, drug abuse/addiction, master manipulator/girl bully, party girl, lowkey an abuser to Adrien
Alya’s struggles/flaws - Adrenaline junkie (rushes into danger headfirst), stubborn/difficulty accepting when she’s wrong, headstrong, passionate
Nino’s struggles/flaws - party animal, doesn’t want to grow up
Kagami’s struggles/flaws - no social skills/ doesn’t know how to express herself, walls to protect her emotions, parental abuse, narcissism, celebrity struggles (manipulation, sexualisation, coercion, privacy invasion), perfectionist
Luka’s struggles/flaws - free spirit and hard to ground in reality, abandonment issues, drug use to cope with severe social anxiety,
Felix’s struggles/flaws - revenge-fueled, drug abuse/addiction, manipulator, rebellious/chaotic
Gabriel Agreste’s flaws - Obsessive (in winning), fueled by grief, thinks he has nothing left to lose (he forgets his son), cold, will not accept loss (ie his dead wifey)
— overall themes —
Gore, loss, mass casualties/destruction, the dark side of being famous, the dark side of modeling, intense pressure of being a soldier/hero/protector, mental illness, drugs, complicated relationships, sexual assault/harassment, death, bullying/psychological harassment, and so much more~!
— other ideas —
- Marinette is a Fashion Intern by Gabriel Agreste Brand after she wins a contest
- Marinette meets Adrien via her internship and also has to deal with Chloe - her ex best friend - there (her mother works with Gabriel)
- Alya takes writing as a “track” in high school and also participates in a reporter internship. She runs her own blog and constantly puts herself in danger for it
- Marinette is studying fashion/graphic design and Adrien is taking the general track in high school - though I can kind of see Adrien becoming a nurse or in a profession where he helps others
- Adrien and Chloe go through a situationship triggered after his mother dies, and she takes advantage of his emotions. He just wants her to be happy and doesn’t care that he is at the expense of that at first (people pleaser tendency). Adrien is forced into other relationships at points - like with Kagami and Lila - because it’s what his father wants.
- The kids from the original collége (middle school) class will appear in an Art club they all participate in. It takes place in the final year of Lycée (high school) and classes are set up similar to American University/College, with different “tracks” to take, which leads to taking the “Bac.” (According to my research at least ;-;)
- Lila will appear as both an ally of Hawkmoth (with a kwami OC) and as marinette’s main foe as herself (teamed up with Chloe and Sabrina) - but worse than the series because Lila wins at first
- Adrien experiences the dark side of being a celebrity and male model - being taken advantage of, pressured into substances, sexualized, and exploited. He doesn’t know how to say no at first
- Marinette faces the dark adult world of fashion as she too is criticized, sees the corruption of it, and is forced into situations she has to get out of.
- Adrien doesn’t know what a real relationship is supposed to feel like and sexual acts become tainted for him — Marinette helps him see the innocent, nontoxic side of being in a relationship
- Major redesign of the miraculous and the capabilities of their powers - and consequences.
