Hot Wheels: New races, new drivers

Chapter 3 : Mari's first race

(some parts were based from the comics, which I think their track its the 'Jungle terrain', starts with chapter 11 and you will understand)

The 35 drivers got into their cars and they stood at the starting point, one after one, side by side, the cars are organized vertically and horizontally in a perfect line. Mari is inside of her Mercy Breaker (NOT TONO'S CAR!! Search on google, it really exists), she is behind Skeet, a member from the Roadbeasts team, and she is beside with Ricky Bell, a teammember from her team.

She took a deep breath and concetrated on the traffic light, the red light turned into yellow, and then the yellow light turned into green. Time to go. The drivers pressed their foot on the pedal and they went straight, Banjee Castillo, the leader of the Roadbeasts, pressed the red button and the Nitrox 2 made his car go faster.

"HEEEEYAAAH! I'll never get tired of this!" yelled Banjee while his car is tilted in the air because of the booster.

Taro, Kurt, Vert and Kadeem used the Nitrox 2 too to get faster into the portal, Dan Dresden warned Mari.

"You need more speed to get into the portal, use the Nitrox 2 booster, Mari" said Dresden

"okay" responded Mari, she pressed the red button too and her car went 300 mph, she held her breath for a minute and her grip on the steering wheel got thigh, a giant portal could be seen at the end of the desert.

Banjee was the first to enter through the portal, as he got there, he landed on a curve which took him by surprise.

"woah! Watch out for the first curve, amigos, at least if you got wind!" warned Banjee After him, a lot of drivers came out of the portal together which almost every driver bumped their cars on the first curve, Mari's eyes widen and tried not hitting Taro's car, but she bumped it accidentaly.

"Oh- sorry!" Mari apologized to Taro while driving ahead

"don't apologize to the team's leader rival" commanded Kurt through the comms

Kurt was too ahead that he left his own team behind. Mari followed Dan Dresden, Ricky Bell and the whole Street Breed team on the cliffside tracks until they see 2 tracks divided in a loop.

"look! Hope we don't crash at each other" said Mari 

Dan Dresden, Bart Scampi and Maximo went to the left side while Mari, Ricky Bell and San Jay Khan went to the right side, luckily none of them crashed at each other during the loop, but when they were about to jump from the ramp to another track, Maximo and Mari bumped their cars' sides and they landed not in a perfect way, making their vehicles skid, turning around and stopping in an inverted position.

"watch out, chica! You want to kill us?" asked Maximo while cursing at Mari

"I'm sorry, it's just-- I got nervous with the jump" answered Mari

"Maximo, calm down. It's her first race, it's normal for the rookies getting nervous during their first race" said Dan Dresden 

"Whatever" Maximo puffed

"guys, we need to be going, our leader isn't responding us" said San Jay Khan

The team started driving again and they noticed they are been followed by the Dune Ratz and Scorches team, their leaders are behind them. Mari is being pursued by a Dune Rat team's member called Toni Berry, a Toyota RSC female driver. Toni accelerated her car and pushed her front on Mari's Mercy Breaker from the behind, Mari felt the bump inside of her car and almost lost control behind the wheel, but she hold on tight the steering wheel. She sees her rearview mirror and noticed that the Toyota RSC isn't behind her anymore, it's by her left side.

"you Street Breed people are always pretentious just like your leader" said Toni Berry

"well I just met him before this race so I don't know very much about him" nervously chuckling, Mari said to Toni through the comms 

"ugh... shame"

Toni hit Mari's car, trying to make the girl lose control again, Mari presses her lips while looking at Toni's Toyota RSC, so she does the same thing that the rival did. They got distracted fighting while the rest of the teams passed them. The two ladies were about to hit at each other's cars again until Taro Kitano and Kadeem passed them so fast that Toni and Mari dodged.

"what was that?" asked Mari to herself

Another car came passing them, it was a Wave Rippers car, following Kadeem and Taro. The Street Breed girl followed straight ahead and noticed a bunch of cars from the Dune Ratz, one from Street Breed and some from the Scorches in the middle and almost out of the track.

"Dan, what happened here?" asked Mari through the comms

"I tried to do the pursuit intervention technique and everything went wrong, you can go without me, go with the rest of our team, the other teams are way ahead, I'll be right behind you" ordered

Dresden and Mari nods. Maximo leads the Street Breed into a tunel inside of a montain, and in it, the track divides in 2 sides, Mari followed Maximo while San Jay followed Bart, the two sides leaded straight ahead until they go over a ramp, all of them accelerated and jump, Ricky, Maximo and San Jay made a stunt during the jump, but Mari was the only one who didn't. And they landed perfectly. No one got hurt.

"Thank God you didn't made a stunt, have you imagined what would happened to us?" asked Maximo refering to Mari

"Maximo!" San Jay called, his patience started to overflow Mari started to feel shame for herself, maybe her brother was right after all. She is very clumsy for racing, but she holds back tears and took a deep breath. Dan Dresden finally reached them and they were driving together.

The background with a lot of mountains started to tremble like an earthquake, stones from mountains were colapsing, massive strange explosions, they came out of nowhere. Speaking of 'out of nowhere', suddenly Kurt's Slingshot came out jumping from a mountain's ramp and landed in front of the team.

"Looks like you got into a trouble" said Kurt

"where have you been?" asked Bart

"I took a shortcut which is that purple track and then I found out it was a very long way to the first place" Kurt responded, which is a lie

"ugh, and now we are so far behind" exclaimed Maximo

Maximo grunted and looked at Mari, and the girl only looked to the other side just to avoid his death glare. She thought 'why he is lookin' at me like that?', it didn't take 1 race and she is being a target of rude criticism not only from Kurt, but also from Maximo. Being honest, this isn't the first when she is underestimated, a few people from her own family didn't trusted her knowledge, her capacity for doing things for her own, she is just waiting for the time to prove they are wrong... If this never happen...

"Guys, check it out!  A cave entrance in the mountainside!" Bart informed while pointing the entrance

"Good catch, Shrimp" Kurt tries to give a compliment

"Bart hates that nickname, Kurt" said San Jay Khan

There were golden statues built by the Accelerons, Bart couldn't stop thinking about of maybe there would be treasures inside the cave.

"Hey, check out these golden statues, are these real gold?" asked Bart amazed by the statues

"LOOK OUT!" Mari shouted while the cave's stones started to fall 

The cave started to collapse too like the mountains and the Street Breed team wasted no time and they accelerated before the cave closes. But the problem is--

"Ricky Bell got trapped, what should we do?" Mari asked hoping they didn't get mashed in the cave

"Did 'Shrimp' help him? He couldn't stop talking about the statues" Kurt didn't sound worried

"we need to help them!"

"guys, look! It's coming from the rocks" said San Jay Khan Suddenly, Bart got out of the rocks while holding Ricky, they didn't seemed okay, like- a cave just collapsed on them. Mari got out of her car to help her teammates, she extends her hand to pull Ricky and help them to stand up.

She notices that their cars didn't get smashed by the rocks, they are indeed irrestible to high damage. After this life and death situation, Kurt leads the team until the finish line, they saw a portal, the finish line. They used the Nitrox 2 booster and passed it. They didn't get a first place like Kurt did alone last time in another track, but at least they got out of there alive. The question that appeared in most of their minds is: where did that earthquake came from?

When the brazilian girl is about to go back to Tezla's HQ, she saw more cars comming out of the portal, two teams. They were the Roadbeasts and Wave Rippers, they were the last ones. Mari watched the young teammembers from the Wave Rippers team getting out of their cars and giving a good job at each other even tho they didn't get neither a first place nor a second place, she saw Vert Wheeler, the blondie boy who has 16 years old getting out of the Deora II and she felt something familiar with him. Doctor Peter Tezla reunited all the 35 drivers inside of his H.Q informing the results of the race, he said that the next day in the morning will have another race and gives hope to the drivers to give 5 million dollars for a driver along with the teammates who will get the Wheel of the Power.

"Now get some rest. You'll need it" Tezla finished the reunion

Dan Dresden walked with San Jay Khan towards Mari, who was making some adjustments inside of her car.

"hey, Mari" Dresden called and she already stood up

"Dan..." there was a silence between them, "I'm very sorry. I'm not the good driver as you expected, maybe Kurt was right" Mari looked down with disappointed face

"hey, don't be like that. It was your first race, and I didn't know that Maximo would act like Kurt. San Jay told me everything..." Dresden informed

The girl closed her eyes and looked to her right side while her long hair hides her face, Dan Dresden felt sad for her and tried to think of something to cheer her up.

"look, why don't you take some rest like Dr. Tezla commanded? Sleeping late at night isn't very good for health" She nods.

The members of her team left her with her car, she decided to take some fresh air before rest, she closed the car's doors and accidentally bumped into someone. She looks up and it is a boy from the Wave Rippers.

"Oh- careful there" he said

"sorry" Mari apologized as she put her hair behind her ear

"hey I know you"

"I don't think so" Mari got confused

"you look kinda- Yo, Vert! Come here" he called and a blondie boy came

The boy whose name is Vert came towards Mari and Alec

"sup Alec, what is it?" Vert asked

"does she look familiar?" Alec grabbed Mari's shoulders from behind

Seeing Vert up close made Mari finally remember, he is the same school as her, she is studying at California, but they aren't in the same class. They don't even talk to each other, but she once saw him with Alec and his friend group in front of school after classes. Mari doesn't have all of friends like Vert has, bunch of teenagers came to her only to ask questions, not to make friendship.

"We've 'met' at the middle school, remember?" Mari tried remind them

After some time of think, a thought finally hit them

"ohhh, now I remember" said Vert "you're Luan's young sister, the famous driver from Brazil, I'm Vert Wheeler by the way. Leader of the Wave Rippers"

Okay, she would be lying if she says that she wasn't expecting that because that's one of two reasons why most of teenagers only went to her to ask questions. If wasn't because of him, her mother, her father or even she wouldn't be there at California, all thanks to Luan's fame. She started to feel that she is her older brother's shadow, but she doesn't keep any rage for her brother, actually, she feels happy for him.

"yeaahhh... that's me. Luan's younger sister" Mari faked her smile

"dude, your brother has an amazing skills, it's a shame that he needed to retire for a while" Vert happily said catching Mari when he called her 'dude'

"my brother always liked the racing and I should be taking care of him, but another person took my place to do it" Mari said in a honest way 

"hah! No wonder Kurt choose you, you must have greatest skills as Luan's" 

"Actually... I always wanted to try racing like him, but he never allowed me, he always says I'm very 'clumsy', but here I am"

She awkwardly smiled at them while Vert and Alec exchanged glances, they actually don't know what to say after what Mari has declared.

"but I wish you and your team a good luck for tomorrow's race. Because I ruined my team's race today. Some of them already hates me" Mari said while scratching the back of her neck and sighs

Vert and Alex noticed Mari's sad face so Vert signs Alec that they'll leave her

"oh hey" Vert said "how about a race between me and you after the oficial race? Just to see if you are good or bad"

"wait-- Really? What makes you think that I'll accept this offer?" Mari asked

"because I know the feeling of being underestimated. Trust me. You, me and Markie are not taken seriously only because of our age" Vert confesses and before he is about to leave, "you and Lani would make good friends tho. See you at the race tomorrow. You. Will. Lose" and he finally goes away while smiling, leaving a shocked Mari standing beside her car.

She smiled, finally another person instead of Dan Dresden who respects her and at the same time having this funny competition spirit, at least in her vision. Her expression turned into a confident one while thinking 'let's see then, Vert Wheeler'.

All the episodes of the cartoon Ratz – part 1

Like I said in my previous post about this cartoon that I really love, there is 52 episodes of it! In the French Wikipedia page, it says that there are also 3 seasons but since I have nothing that prove that, so it doesn’t matter in here. Because I love this cartoon so much, I’m going to explain to you all of the episodes, with a resume and why I love them!

Actually, it will probably be too long for only one post (52 episodes, 52 pictures��) so I’ll divide it in 9 parts! The 8 first will present 6 episodes each and the last one will present 4 episodes, so that way it will be easier for you to read it! All the parts except for the last one will talk about. Like I said, my personal order is the order of the French Wikipedia page, so it will be in that order that I will present them. Once again, don’t worry about it, you don’t have to follow that specific order but the one you want! I will also give you the French names, so in the other languages it won’t be the same but that’s the way I know the cartoon.

A last warning! There will be some spoilers to describe the episodes and the characters in it so if you don’t want to be spoil, you may as well want to come back later! However! If you’re not afraid of spoilers, you can read it, it’ll be fun (at least I hope so).

In this first part, I will present to you the following episodes: Stop, Salut ma poule ! , La nuit du gouda toxique, Le génie du fromage, Panne sèche and Un ami qui vous veut du bien.

Stop is an episode in which Razmo, after a race with Rapido, has a light accident and become paranoid about it and tries to protect Rapido and himself from the dangers of racing, speed, and accidents, acting like a cop, putting a very lot of signages everywhere in the ship and even remaking their ratboards, giving it an AI to force Rapido to drive as slow as possible to protect him, just bothering Rapido more and more.

I think it’s a really good episode to start the show! It introduces us to the main characters, Razmo and Rapido, and understand how they are, their relationship and everything. It’s not my favorite episode but it still is a good one, funny and great. Razmo’s will protect both Rapido and himself is adorable (but a little too much). And even if he is really angry at Razmo for being overprotective and paranoid, Rapido still is showed being happier when he can do anything with his little friend.

Characters in that episode: Razmo, Rapido, the Captain, Steve the AI

Score: 6.5/10 (I love the demonstrations of affection between Razmo and Rapido and the fact that the episode is almost only about the two of them)

Salut ma poule (which could literally be translated by “Hello chick” I guess) is an episode in which Razmo is having a depressive episode with the beginning of the spring and after Rapido “tries” to comfort him, the little rat comfort himself by saving a chicken from the cook Benny and trying to help her flying despite Rapido explaining him how impossible this is, finally helping her to fly away from the boat and from Benny.

This episode is pretty good! It gives us another aspect of the relationship of Razmo and Rapido, were Rapido is trying, in his own bad way to comfort Razmo, badly but clearly used to Razmo’s blues. Also, it’s a really good demonstration of the heroism of Razmo, being so much into his own things that he doesn’t even notice things that are obvious (like chickens not being able to fly). Also, his way to overcome the problems by doing things more and more strange ending by a success is really awesome! Razmo is the kind of genius that really like to go extreme really fast, using science to protect himself from his different issues, which may have happened a lot because Rapido tries really hard to stop him.

Characters in that episode:  Razmo, Rapido, Benny, Marie the Chicken (she may have another name in English, I don’t know)

Score: 8.5/10 (really funny and soft, one of my favorites episodes with a good rhythm in it)

La nuit du gouda toxique (translated by The night of the toxic gouda) is an “horror-like” episode, but for children obviously, in the Halloween theme (one of the two). In this episode, while Razmo tries to scare Rapido with his pranks, the Captain of the ship accepts chemicals on his boat because he needs money. After making Rapido angry against him, Razmo runs away to prepare an other pranks with goudas but, by accident, some chemicals flow on the goudas who come to live, with the want to eat the two rats.

It’s a nice episode, not the best, but nice to watch sometimes. It screams a little too much for me maybe? This episode shows how weak and easily scared the two rats are but I do like how it describe to us the relationship between the three humans on the boat and how strong Svetlana is (we love strong & tall women here)!! It’s one of the first episodes were the side non-human characters are enemies and promise to come back (and they never do, it happens with one character only, I’ll present them later).

Characters in that episode: Razmo, Rapido, the three goudas (Mo, Gory and the last one), the Captain, Svetlana, Benny

Score: 5/10 (it’s okay but that’s all)

Le génie du fromage (translated by The cheese genie) is a pretty nice episode in which Rapido and Razmo accidentally awake a genie in a lamp, having 3 wishes to make between the two of them (so one wish and an half each). Razmo then wishes to attract the cheese to himself and Rapido wishes to change everything he touches in cheese.

I love this episode!! It’s so funny and nice, Rapido and Razmo are just so great and well written! The Genie is an absolute jerk with them, playing with what they want and ask, just to give them a lesson (or maybe just to mess with them). Also, the fact Rapido is willing to give up a huge chance to have his dreams just for Razmo is a real strong good point for me. It’s one of the episodes that I just love to watch because it’s a really good episode and I love to re-watch it a lot. And it’s the only one episode with a moral! So yeah, it’s really great.

Characters in that episode: Rapido, Razmo, the Genie

Score: 9.5/10 (I won’t spoil why it lost 0.5 point but it’s because Razmo is my favorite character of this show)

Panne sèche (translated by Off fuel) is an episode where Razmo, in a really huge need of affection or something like that, break the ship, making it off fuel (see? Like the name of the episode, eheh). When another ship’ captain come to help, a weasel attacks him to obligates him to make her fly or she will kill him.

It’s not the best episode but it’s so funny!! Watching it now, there’s a lot of tendentious innuendos in Razmo’s attitude and I can’t help but smile like a dumbass every time because Razmo is needy as hell and Rapido is just used to it like if it happened a lot. And like, for someone who like Rapido, there is good content of him.

Characters in that episode: Razmo, Rapido, the Captain, Svetlana, Benny, the weasel, Captain Salami (I believe his name is translated because it makes a joke in French but I don’t know what it is)

Score: 6.5/10 (Nice, lot of adult undertones, Rapido having a bath)

And last but not least! Un ami qui vous veut du bien (translated by A friend with good intentions)! This episode presents us one of the many forgettable nemesis of the two rats, a penguin named Fred who is a thief really good with lying, manipulating Razmo really easily, but not Rapido who understands really quickly that something is wrong with that bird.

It’s not an amazing episode, just a little better in my opinion than La nuit des goudas toxiques because I like it when Razmo plays music, but that’s very personal of me. Also, it gives us some Domestic trope of Rapido and Razmo and I love it so much. And I really love when Rapido doesn’t fall for the lies of someone else because he’s himself a huge liar (but he falls for Razmo’s lies every times) so he’s very angry at everyone trying to manipulate his Razmo (I’m a huge fan of it).

Characters in that episode: Razmo, Rapido, Fred, Benny

Score: 6.5/10 (it gains point because of the jealous!Rapido thing only, yes)

The interviewer managed to gain rare access to the mysterious Rat King.

Restituirea acestei memorii ocultate de regimul totalitar bolşevic şi ignorată parțial și de noul regim pseudo-democratic, este o datorie de onoare a elitelor transilvănene, indiferent de originea lor etnică.

Istoriografia de partid şi de stat a pus un accent unilateral, pe structura socială a românilor ardeleni, inoculând ideea falsă doar a unor români ardeleni iobăgiţi, sărăciţi şi umiliţi, întreținând o continuă stare de autovictimizare.

Unirea religioasă cu Roma a celei mai mari părţi a românilor ardeleni, apariţia Şcolii Ardelene, întreaga mişcare de emancipare a românilor din Transilvania, din secolele XVIII – XIX, crearea unor elite de o mare calitate, mai ales după 1848, au condus naţiunea românească din Austro-Ungaria, la o poziţie extrem de puternică în Transilvania, Banat, Partium şi Bucovina, mai ales din punct de vedere cultural şi economic.

Toată evoluţia naţiunii româneşti din Ardeal și din celelalte regiuni menționate, nu poate fi înţeleasă, fără acest formidabil suport social, pe care l-a constituit nobilimea românească din Transilvania şi Ungaria, ea fiind o adevărată păstrătoare a identităţii etnice, religioase şi naţionale.

Este momentul să spunem adevărul până la capăt şi să devoalăm grosolanele minciuni, care au înfierbântat minţile câtorva generaţii de români…

Istoria nobilimii din aceste regiuni este neglijată de o mare parte a istoricilor maghiari şi români, e adevărat, din cauze diferite.

Maghiarii, fiindcă nu îi interesează decât nobilimea de origine maghiară sau maghiarizată, iar românii fiindcă nu le convine să se ştie că românii ardeleni au avut nobilime şi încă nu puţină.

Nu se potriveşte cu imaginea creată cu atâta trudă(începând cu anii 1920 și terminând cu pseudo-istoricii comuniști), cea a bietului român ardelean, exploatat de groful ungur. Ce-i drept, și pe vremea Școlii Ardelene a existat această tendință de autovictimizare, dar barem atunci, exista o motivație extraordinar de puternică. Care, după 1920, n-ar fi trebuit să mai existe aproape de loc.

Că iobagii şi jelerii au dus-o greu, în multe perioade, asta o ştie toată lumea, că doar nu degeaba s-au răsculat de atâtea ori, dar şi în acest caz se mistifică adevărul, uitând să ni se spună că şi maghiarii, secuii, chiar şi saşii, aveau iobagi.

Oare Budai Nagy Antal sau Dózsa György/Gheorghe Doja, care erau maghiari, au făcut altceva decât ce a făcut Horea ???

Toţi trei s-au răsculat împotriva aceleiaşi clase sociale, nobilimea( din care, cu onor, făceau parte şi români).

Noi zboruri Wizz Air din Bucureşti

Compania aeriană Wizz Air a alocat cea de-a zecea aeronavă la București și a sărbătorit 11 ani de la inaugurarea bazei locale. Aeronava Airbus A321 de ultimă generație, cu 230 de locuri, va asigura cursele pe cele mai noi rute, cu începere din București spre Atena, Göteborg, Nisa și Kutaisi, precum și frecvențele crescute către 8 destinații din București: Barcelona, Bari, Billund, Eindhoven, Geneva, Londra Luton, Paris Beauvais și Tel-Aviv. În total, programul WIZZ va avea 24 de zboruri adiționale săptămânale cu plecare de la București.

În primele șase luni din 2018, mai mult de 1,6 milioane de pasageri au călătorit la bordul aeronavelor companiei din București, în creștere cu 10% față de aceeași perioadă din anul anterior. Pentru a răspunde cererii tot mai mari din România, WIZZ lansează 4 rute noi și crește frecvențele pentru 8 curse populare din București, în 2018. Anul acesta, Wizz Air oferă mai mult de 4,2 milioane de locuri la vânzare, spre 47 de destinații din 20 de țări, cu tarife ce încep de la doar 39 de lei.

Investiția totală WIZZ din București depășește 1,1 miliarde de dolari și susține piața locală de forță de muncă, în condițiile în care baza are o echipă formată din peste 400 de profesioniști în aviație și facilitează peste 2.300 de locuri de muncă anual în regiune, în industriile afiliate. De la decolarea primei aeronave WIZZ de la București, în 2007, mai mult de 19 milioane de pasageri s-au bucurat de tarifele scăzute WIZZ, de sistemul facil de rezervări și de serviciile de calitate de la bordul aeronavelor.

„Sărbătorim aniversarea de 11 ani a bazei din București cu o aeronavă complet nouă și patru noi rute. Rămânem în continuare dedicați pieței din România și suntem nerăbdători să ne diversificăm rețeaua extinsă”, a declarat Sorina Ratz, Head of Corporate Communications Wizz Air (interimar) în cadrul unei conferințe de presă la București. „În calitate de cea mai mare companie aeriană din România, vom continua să oferim oportunități cu adevărat accesibile tuturor pasagerilor noștri și vom susține în continuare turismul și economia locală.”

Wizz Air oferă în prezent 141 de rute către 22 de țări (inclusiv zborul intern București – Cluj Napoca) spre toată Europa de pe zece aeroporturi locale. În 2018, 20 de noi rute au fost deja anunțate din România, spre destinații populare precum Atena din București și Cluj – Napoca, Nisa, Lyon, Malmo sau Salonic din Iași. Wizz Air operează de pe aeroporturile din România cu o flotă tânără formată din 25 de aparate de zbor, inclusiv 5 noi și ultra- eficiente Airbus A321 cu 230 de locuri, și o echipă formată în prezent din mai mult de 1.000 de angajați locali.

Just in time for the inauguration, or, more accurately, doomsday, comes Battle Hymns, a record specifically designed to rally your spirits during these turbulent times. As plainly stated on the compilation’s website: “It is a protest record!” So play it loud.

Battle Hymns is available through Quasi’s website, quasiband.com, and the band not only contributes a track, the group’s core members, Sam Coomes and Janet Weiss, also turn up on a number of the other tracks as backing players. The roster of other participating musicians reads like a who’s who of NW indie rock: Carrie Brownstein, Corin Tucker, Stephen Malkmus, Rebecca Gates, Scott McCaughey, and Doug Martsch, among others.

Things get off to a forthright start with the self-explanatory “We Won’t Go Back” by Love Always — the Thermals’ Kathy Foster, who handles all instrument and vocal chores, proudly declaiming, “We fight the hate, the lies/We won’t go back” over a powerful (and fuzzy) musical backing. Mary Timony’s “Fight the Hate” is in a similar vein, a simple statement wedded to a tough rock beat.

But a number of tracks, unsurprisingly, evince a darker humor. The best in this regard is Quasi’s creepy “Ballad of Donald Duck & Elmer Fudd,” an allegorical parable narrated with sinister coolness by Coomes. Elsewhere, Mac McCaughan tries to find a silver lining in the poppy “Happy New Year (Prince Can’t Die Again),” but the best he can do is assert that well, at least we won’t have to live through the horrors of 2016 again (Martsch’s ghostly, aptly titled, “Fuck 2016” expresses a similar sentiment). And “No More Fizz,” by MEDS (Carrie Brownstein and Katie Harkin) presents a stripped-down, sharp shock of a litany of what perils may await us; not only the absence of essentials like electricity and sex, but “No more punctuation” and “No more mathematics,” which, given the increasing disparagement of science and education, doesn’t seem entirely far-fetched. “I’m just waitin’ to feel love,” Brownstein sings hopefully during the chorus. Don’t hold your breath.

But the answer might be provided by “Love in the Time of Resistance” by the wonderfully named Filthy Friends (Tucker, McCaughey, Bill Rieflin, Kurt Bloch, and Peter Buck). Its sound is mournful and a bit dissonant (rather like a Sleater-Kinney track), but it’s a song that also refuses to concede defeat: “Can’t go back, we must move on … Can’t let hatred rule.” There’s an urgency in Tucker’s voice, pleading with you to not give into despair. Let this album provide the soundtrack to your own form of resistance. Even buying it makes a difference; the album, available as a download, is a pay-what-you-want release, and all proceeds are earmarked for Planned Parenthood, the ACLU, and 350.org.

Another one for Micro May. These three ladies are from my least popular size comic in the 2000s. You would think that they have learned something in the last decades…

Länge: etwa 23 km; Höhenmeter: ca. 835 m Geschätzte Pilgerdauer: 8 Stunden

Wichtiger Hinweis: da es auf der ganzen Strecke kein Geschäft, Café oder Restaurant.  Aber auch keinen Brunnen. Daher meine Empfehlung: nehmt sicherheitshalber 2 Liter Wasser mit. Denn die Etappe ist doch einigermaßen schweißtreibend.

Kurzfassung: Die Etappe führt durch das Tal des Alagnon. Nach dessen Überquerung bei Auroze würde die Via Arverna in einem großen Bogen und mit einem ordentlichen Anstieg versehen nach Molompize führen. Quasi mit der Kirche ums Dorf. Ich habe die ‚Abkürzung‘ genommen und bin ratz-fatz neben der Straße nach Molompize dahinspaziert. Denn da gibt es einen Fahrradweg, man wird also nicht vom Verkehr bedrängt. Nach Molompize geht’s dann ans Eingemachte: die morgendliche Bergtour auf ein Hochplateau. Was sich sehr lohnt. Denn es hält unvergessliche Ausblicke bereit. Und beim Abstieg passieren die kulturbeflissenen Pilgersleute eine der ältesten Kirchen der Auvergne: Saint-Mary, die Kirche des heiligen Marian. Und jetzt ist’s nicht mehr weit nach Ferrières-Saint-Mary wo ein Lebensmittelgeschäft und eine der schönsten Herbergen auf die müden Spaziergänger wartet. Freut euch!

Wieder hatte ich das Glück, trotz der aufziehenden schwarzen Wolken lange Zeit ohne mein Regenzeug spazieren zu dürfen. Die Landschaft im Tal des Alagnon ist wunderschön, die kleinen Dörflein sind pittoresk. Allein: sie scheinen verlassen. Alte Weintrassen sind noch sichtbar. Dass kein Wein mehr angebaut wird ist der Reblaus zu verdanken, die vor mehr als 170 Jahren die Lebensgrundlage dieser Menschen zerstört hatte.

Nach Molompize – wo es zwar ein Café gibt, das aber geschlossen war – geht’s in einem langen Aufstieg wiederum auf ein Plateau. Jenes von Chazeloux. Der Wind pfeift einem hier schon einigermaßen resch um die Ohren. Einige verstreut liegende Höfe, Kühe, Ruhe und Landschaft. Ein Traum für wahre Pilgersleute.

Nach einem ausgedehnten Pilgerbummel in luftiger Höhe – man spaziert hier auf 1.000 m Seehöhe – beginnt ein bisweilen steiler Abstieg nach Ferrières-Saint-Mary. Auf halber Höhe passieren die frohgemuten Pilgersleute  jene Kirche, die dem Ort den zweiten Namensteil verliehen hat: Saint-Mary. Wie gesagt, es ist kein Marienheiligtum sondern einem der ersten auvergnatischen Missionare gewidmet, dem Heiligen Marian.

Das Kirchlein ist wiederum ein Juwel romanischer Architektur und Baukunst. Ich frage mich immer, weshalb es hier heroben errichtet worden ist. Quasi im totalen Outback. Meine einzige Erklärung: Saint-Mary steht auf einem alten vorchristlichen Kultplatz. Ich rate euch, um den Kirchenschlüssel im Nachbargebäude zu fragen. Das Innere der Kirche ist nicht wirklich erbaulich hat aber eine eigene Atmosphäre, die ich als wunderschön empfunden habe. Aber vielleicht geht’s nur mir so. Ich stelle die Kirche in der Kategorie „Die Romanik der Auvergne“ HIER näher vor.

Von hier aus geht es durch grandiose Buchenwälder nach Ferrières, wo es zur großen Freude der Pilgersleute ein sehr gut sortiertes Lebensmittelgeschäft gibt. Und quasi als Draufgabe eine der schönsten Herbergen, das Hotel Voyageurs.

A WizzAir új járatot indít Pozsonyból Londonba

Az új járat 2018 nyarától naponta fog közlekedni a két város között.

A WizzAir légitársaság új, egyenes járatot indít a pozsonyi M. R. Štefánik repülőtér és a londoni Luton repülőtér között. A légitársaság 2018. június 20-tól helyezi üzembe az új járatot, ami nyártól naponta fog közlekedni a két város között

  „Az utasok jövő évtől a WizzAir hat járatát használhatják ki – Szkopjébe, Kijevbe, Varsóba, Szófiába, Tuzlába, valamint újonnan a londoni Lutonba” – mondta a pozsonyi reptér vezérigazgatója, Jozef Pojedinec.

  A WizzAir szóvivője, Sorina Marie Ratz elmondása szerint a légitársaság jelentős növekedést jegyzett Szlovákiában, év közben pedig 60 százalékkal sikerült emelnie a kapacitását a szlovák piacon.

  A WizzAir jelenleg 11 járatot kínál nyolc országba három szlovákiai reptérről: Pozsonyból, Poprádról és Kassáról.

Compania aeriană Wizz Air anunță deschiderea celei mai noi destinații de vacanță, Marrakech în Maroc, disponibilă din Polonia și Lituania. Cu începere din octombrie 2018, compania va oferi în sezonul de iarnă două noi servicii spre Marrakech din Varșovia, Polonia și Vilnius, Lituania. Noile zboruri, operate de două ori pe săptămână, sunt singurele conexiuni directe și sunt disponibile acum de la un preț de doar 29,99 euro. Biletele se află deja la vânzare și pot fi rezervate pe wizzair.com sau prin aplicația WIZZ.
