By "roles" I mean playing a different character, and in a different piece of media; someone playing one character across a franchise only counts as one thing for the purposes of this poll, as does playing multiple characters in one franchise/piece of media
For what counts as “roles”, please only consider acting performances, and not things such as non-acting music performances
Below are some of this actor's roles. Please only check after voting!
Rosalinda as Rosalinda Perez Romero
Quinceañera as Beatriz Villanueva Conteras
María Mercedes as María Mercedes Muñoz
María la del Barrio / Humble Maria as María Hernández
Thalía is the half-sister of actor Laura Zapata, and aunt of actor Camila Sodi

Hmm..you analyzed this situation pretty well.
Did Francisco just realize the full extent of her fake plot and hence responded again? Or something else is brewing.
I do agree with this plan being more impulsive than rational coz there's so many holes, it's all over the place.
When will she learn though? Does she still not realize everything she tries to do backfires on her?

Sleeping Beauty Spring: Happily Ever After: Fairy Tales for Every Child – Sleeping Beauty" (1995 animated series episode)
Tumblr media
Happily Ever After: Fairy Tales for Every Child was like an animated musical counterpart to Shelley Duvall's Faerie Tale Theatre for children of the '90s. Each episode, narrated by Robert Guillaume, adapts a classic fairy tale or fantasy story with a star-studded voice cast, blending irreverent humor with sincerity. But what sets this series apart from any similar series is that each story takes place in a different culture. Highlight episodes include a Chinese Little Red Riding Hood, a Caribbean Goldilocks and the Three Bears, a Native American Snow White, African versions of Jack and the Beanstalk, The Frog Prince, and Beauty and the Beast, and Latin American versions of Hansel and Gretel, Cinderella... and Sleeping Beauty.
This retelling of the tale takes place in an imaginary Latin American seaside kingdom. The dialogue is peppered with Spanish words and phrases, and the voice cast consists entirely of Latino and part-Latino celebrities: Marie Barrientos as Princess Rosita, Ricardo Montalbán as King Carlos, Lucie Arnaz as Queen Maria, Paul Rodriguez as Jesse the Jester, Jacob Vargas as Prince Luis, Carlos Mencia as his squire Poncho, Carmen Zapata as the Seventh Fairy, Vanessa Marquez as all of the other six fairies, and musical theatre/opera singer Julia Migenes as the villainous fairy Evelina.
Apart from the Latin American setting, the plot faithfully follows the traditional story. King Carlos and Queen Maria yearn for a child, comforted only by the slapstick comedy of their clumsy jester, Jesse. But at last, Princess Rosita is born. To her grand christening – a fiesta with flamenco dancing, salsa music, and a feast of arroz con pollo and ropa vieja – the king and queen invite seven good fairies, portrayed as middle aged and elderly women with tiny wings. But the hideous old fairy Evelina goes uninvited because she shut herself away in a tower long ago and is presumed dead. Of course she comes anyway, and after expressing her offense a grand musical number, she curses the princess, but the pink-clad Seventh Fairy softens her curse from death to a hundred-year sleep.
Sixteen years later, as in the Cannon Movie Tales adaptation, the whole kingdom is dressed in rags and patches because no new cloth can be made without spinning wheels. Princess Rosita knows that spinning was banned due to an old prophecy, but doesn't know what that prophecy is. When her parents go out a tour of the kingdom, Jesse the Jester promises to look after her. But he promptly knocks himself unconscious on a column, so Rosita is free to explore unknown parts of the castle. Of course she finds a tower where Evelina waits with a spinning wheel. King Carlos, Queen Maria, and Jesse are distraught when they find Rosita sleeping, but the Seventh Fairy arrives and puts the rest of the kingdom to sleep too. Over a hundred years, a dense jungle grows around the castle.
At long last, Prince Luis and his nervous squire Poncho arrive. They've heard many legends about the old castle, but finally an old man tells them the true story. When they ride into the jungle, the trees miraculously part, and soon the prince finds Rosita and kisses her, breaking the spell. A fantastico wedding is celebrated with new clothes for everyone, Evelina "goes all to pieces" with rage (her tower explodes with her inside it, leaving just a smoking ruin), and everyone else lives happily ever after.
While the animation isn't the most sophisticated, its lively, colorful, stylized aesthetic is memorable and charming. It perfectly suits the balance between humor and heart that the script offers. As in most episodes of this series, there are two featured songs, the brief "Good Fairies' Song" and Evelina's "Que Es Esto" ("A party without me? Surely you jest-o!"), both infused with the local color of the setting.
I recommend not only this episode, but the entire Happily Ever After series to anyone who enjoys seeing fairy tales told with fresh, colorful new spins, and especially to children of different ethnic groups, who will enjoy seeing themselves in the classic tales.

any book recs?
SO MANY OMG ill try to recommend some non-booktok/not mainstream series and books.
ill go by genres:
first my favourite book series in the world and forever my favourite book series is the percy jackson series <333 idc thay its for kids it’s so fun and emotional and entertaining i love it. has my all time favourite fictional couple and fictional character (percy and percabeth)
fantasy:
the cruel prince series (holly black; YA), the political intrigue and character development in this series is so good! also has one of my favourite protagonists and book couple :)
falling kingdoms series (morgan rhodes; YA), again more political intrigue and it is a bit slow at first but the plot picks up. also this has multiple povs!!
lost boy (christina henry; YA/NA?), MADE ME CRY AND IDEK WHY. retelling of peter pan but in captain hooks pov (he used to be one of peters lost boys). finished it in one night
storm and fury (jennifer l. armentrout; YA), probably the only series from her ill read. really like the main character and romance :) did not read the last book tho if im being honest LMAO
poison study series (maria v. snyder; YA ish? leaning towards NA high fantasy), i ADORED the premise of this book and rlly enjoyed the characters, world building and plot. the romance is subtle but is there and it’s all around a really interesting and immersive read.
dystopian:
all these monsters duology (amy tintera; YA), i rlly adore the main characters and the romantic subplot🫶🫶
angelfall series (susan ee), ONE OF THE MOST UNDERRATED AND FUN DYSTOPIANS !! love the female mc + love the male lead + made me cry + angels = perfect. the romance in this was also so cute
mystery:
malice (keigo higashino; adult) so SO clever and hands down my favourite mystery book. if you like smart, nuanced mysteries that leave you guessing at every turn then this is the one!
the 7 deaths of evelyn hardcastle (stuart turton; adult). this book is my favourite stand-alone of all time and it is so unique, SOOO clever, and so fun. it’s basically a time-loop, clue-style, body-swapping murder mystery that i guarantee you won’t be able to guess the plot twist of.
the word is murder (anthony horowitz; adult), super cool concept that is executed well (in my opinion), enjoyed the narration and the actual mystery! unlikeable deuteragonist tho
the inmate (frieda mcfadden; adult), had me stressed out the entire book🧍🏻‍♀️ also had another plot twist i did NOT see coming at the very very end.
basically anything agatha christie, queen of mystery novels, but mostly: and then there was none, and any hercule poirot novel
contemporary romance:
y’all i don’t rlly like contemporary romance but kulti, the wall of winnipeg is me, wait for it, and lukov with love (all by mariana zapata) are very good!! they are slowburn romances and HEALTHY (!!!!!!!!) relationships.
historical fiction:
veronica speedwell series (deanna raybourn; YA), a badass lepidopterist, a hot grumpy taxidermist, a setting in victorian london, murder mysteries, and BANTER !!!! what else do you need?
stalking jack the ripper series (kerri maniscalco; YA). basically all that above except forensic scientists^^^ this series also has one of my favourite book couples ever and is overall incredibly entertaining and clever.
classics:
the iliad and the odyssey🫶🫶🫶🫶🫶🫶🫶 (homer LMAO)
ANYWAY this was a lot but i hope i helped :) i love romance but mostly as a subplot because i enjoy plot-driven novels more (especially fantasy and mystery). some of these do center a bit on romance tho so if that’s what ur looking for then please feel free to check them out!

3, 10, 17 for the book ask!!
3. what were your top five books of the year?
crying in h-mart by michelle zauner. sjdfhsdf i feel like this book just came out but i think it is already an asian american cliche but you know what. fine. i will be the cliche. it's probably my favorite of all the mother daughter asian media that came out recently or at least the one that meant the most to me. i listened to her whole discography after this book also
in the dream house by carmen maria machado. this one was hard to read partially bc it's written a little academically and i am sooo sooo tragically stupid but also it made me realize a lot of things about myself and my life that i did not want to realize. i have since decided to throw away the whole suitcase but it is a powerful book and very beautiful........
people we meet on vacation by emily henry......i have actually been mocked relentlessly for reading this by my older sister and sjdghfsjdgh have not been able to complete a reread BUT i have to acknowledge that this book changed the course of my life. for the worse but i Would jump in front of a car for emily henry
dear aaron by mariana zapata. yes we are getting into $1.99 kindle literature AND SJDFGHSDGJH this is infamously the book they use for her anti-filipino racist callout posts but like. it's not racist & also this is the highest level email epistolary friends to lovers i have ever read. this is the friends to lovers i dream about at night. It's Just A Guy Who's Nice And Weird 00s Email Politeness
goodbye, again by jonny sun. this book is like. a feeling. for a second, you can be a plant
10. what was your favorite new release of the year?
confessions of an alleged good girl by joya goffney!! it is a ya romcom and as a romcom i enjoyed her older book more but she really impresses me in that she writes about things people don't really talk about or even know about that are important. like i did not even know about the condition she has in this book and i went to nursing school and she uses it to pretty insightfully comment on religious culture while simultaneously writing the like cutest disney channel original movie ever.
17. did any books surprise you with how good they are?
quite a few romance novels i'm embarrassed to admit i've read, crying in hmart which had me crying in my doctor's office, probably people we meet on vacation the most. before that i had lost a lot of faith in the contemporary romance genre and it blew my mind so much i gave the genre another try with a more open mind. this was ultimately a mistake but at least i read books again😭😭
end of year book asks

Sherry
✍🏻 Edip Kemal Eren

DILG Ramps Up Fight Against Trucker Extortion
Tumblr media
DILG's Strong Stance Against Extortion
In a significant development, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) has announced a stringent crackdown on the extortion of truckers, a move that has garnered widespread attention and support. This decision comes in the wake of persistent complaints from the trucking industry about illegal pass-through fees, despite a clear directive from President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to halt such practices.
Addressing the Extortion Epidemic
Interior Secretary Benjamin Abalos Jr. has assured the trucking community, represented by the Confederation of Truckers Association of the Philippines (CTAP), of the government's commitment to combat these illicit activities. Moreover, with the backing of the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the involvement of other concerned government agencies, there is a unified front against those undermining the transport sector's integrity.   Policing and Policy Enforcement Gen. Benjamin Acorda Jr., leading the PNP, plans to increase its visibility and vigilance to apprehend those involved in these criminal acts. A stern warning declares: that no leniency will be shown towards culprits, whether they are law enforcement officers or local government employees. This declaration marks a critical step in ensuring accountability and restoring trust within the trucking industry.   No Truck Ban in Metro Manila Further clarifying the situation, Abalos mentioned that neither the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) nor the local governments of Manila and Quezon City are imposing a truck ban. This clarification is crucial for maintaining the flow of goods and services across the capital, ensuring that businesses can operate without undue hindrances.
A Unified Approach to Compliance
A one-month timeline has been established for the full implementation of measures to eliminate extortion practices. This deadline underscores the urgency and seriousness with which the DILG and its partners are addressing the issue, aiming for swift and effective solutions to a problem that has long plagued the trucking sector.   Collaborating with Local Governments MMDA Chair Romando Artes highlighted the importance of dialogue with local government units (LGUs) to resolve any conflicts or misunderstandings regarding truck bans and other related regulations. This collaborative approach is essential for creating a regulatory environment that supports the trucking industry while ensuring public safety and order.   Optimism from the Trucking Community CTAP President Maria Zapata expressed optimism that the executive order's implementation would lead to improved business conditions for truckers and contribute to easing commodity prices. The trucking community's support for these measures reflects a collective desire for a more efficient, fair, and transparent transport sector.   Summary The DILG's decisive action against extortion schemes targeting truckers is a welcome development that promises to enhance the efficiency of the transport sector and the ease of doing business in the Philippines. By fostering a collaborative approach among government agencies, law enforcement, and local governments, the DILG is setting a strong precedent for addressing systemic issues that affect both the economy and the livelihoods of those within the trucking industry.   Sources: THX News & Philippine News Agency.
