“I remember he said, ‘Don’t worry. We’ll make your nose real sexy.’ And I thought, ‘I’m not coming to you to be sexy.’” Plastic Surgeons Are Mostly Men, But Their Patients Are Mostly Women Why the industry’s double gender gap matters. In 2016, 1.7 million elective cosmetic surgeries were performed in the United States. Of these 1.7 million, over 200,000 were rhinoplasties, or nose jobs. Women underwent 75 percent of these nasal surgeries, the vast majority of which were performed by men. Finding a plastic surgeon is not exactly like drawing blindly from a hat. There are online directories and annual rankings, like Super Doctors and America’s Top Doctors. A search on that second database, for plastic surgeons within 50 miles of my Massachusetts hometown, returned 61 “Top Doctors.” Eight of them were women. The gap between male and female cosmetic surgeons is also true of surgery overall, but the disparity is more startling in plastics because it is so unlike the one among patients. Ninety-two percent of cosmetic surgeries are performed on women, and women make up only 15 percent of the doctors available to patients. #plasticsurgery #aesthetic #happy #photo #beautiful #perfect #perfection #awesome #pretty #cute #look #love #peace #sweet #surgeon #transformation

13 Things I Wish I Knew Before I Became a Plastic surgeon 👩🏼‍⚕️ 1. It takes a lot of very unglamorous training to become a plastic surgeon. 2. Even in Hollywood, you'll rarely operate on celebrities, if ever. 3. If you have kids, you'll be in the minority. 4. Running your own practice has advantages, but it will come with a big set of challenges. 5. There's no such thing as a "typical" plastic surgery patient. 6. Surgery time is just a fraction of the time you spend with patients. 7. You need to be able to balance what the patient wants what's actually best for them. 8. Patients won't always be happy with their results, but you shouldn't always take it personally. 9. Many people don't believe that you're actually helping people. 10. You'll sometimes have to fix other doctors' mistakes. 11. If you're a woman, people will have a hard time believing you're a surgeon. 12. How you present yourself will affect your brand as a plastic surgeon. 13. You're not just changing patients' looks — you're changing their perspective on life by Cosmopolitan. #girl #amazing #look #love #cute #peace #happy #sun #life #amazing #awesome #art #perfect #perfection #nature #photooftheday #follow #instagood #beautiful #beauty #surgeon #drelsaborodina #summer #style #smile #fitness #photo #sky #instadaily #bestoftheday

Plastic surgery is defined as “the process of reconstructing or repairing parts of the body by the transfer of tissue, either in the treatment of injury or for cosmetic reasons.”An increasing number of Americans are opting for plastic surgery, contributing to a boom in the industry. Another rationale for plastic surgery would be to correct physical defects that may have resulted from genetics or accidents. Plastic surgery in this case would drastically improve their quality of life. Others that pursue plastic surgery to improve their quality of life may look to liposuction and breast reduction – these may not be defects per se, but can result in a drastic improvement in the quality of life. it is yet unknown what the effect of plastic surgery is on these patients. Few studies have been conducted to examine the safety and long-term risks of these procedures on adolescents–an age at which teenagers are still developing. With a rise in the acceptance and availability of plastic surgery fuelled by mainstream media and societal trends, there seems to be no sign of the booming industry slowing down. Plastic surgery has the potential to increase our quality of lives, but it also has the potential to mislead our judgements. Mainstream media propagates the idea of attractiveness brings about better and easier lives by earning the envy of others. It is still yet to be fully understood what the impact of plastic surgery will have in World. Societal norms and trends around plastic surgery are definitely changing. One factor that won’t change however, is that plastic surgery is here to stay in as long as societal trends do not change. #plasticsurgery #aesthetic #surgeon #happy #photooftheday #nature #perfection #awesome #pretty #look #life #lifestyle #lookingood #beauty #art #antiaging #body #amazing #cute #love #face

Facial PeelsChemical peel uses a chemical solution to improve and smooth the texture of the facial skin by removing its damaged outer layers. It is helpful for those individuals with facial blemishes, wrinkles, and uneven skin pigmentation. Phenol, trichloroacetic acid (TCA) and alphahydroxy acids (AHAs) are commonly used for this purpose. The precise formula used may be adjusted to meet each patient’s needs. Chemical Peels create an even and controlled shedding of damaged skin cells. Glycolic Peels are derived from sugar cane and have the smallest molecular structure for deeper penetration ability. For people at high risk, a light chemical peel twice a year is a great way to keep skin cancer at bay. It is also helpful for individuals with facial blemishes, wrinkles, acne scars, and uneven skin pigmentation. Chemical peels involve applying a chemical solution to the skin which, after a day or so, begins to peel off. This process is used on the face, but also on the neck, chest and hands if needed. Varying strengths of the solutions applied determine whether you will have a light or medium peeling. After the skin loosens and falls away, new skin is allowed to appear from underneath. The removal of dead skin cells stimulates the production of new skin cells. You will see a dramatic difference in skin color, texture and tone. The skin feels softer, smoother and has a healthy glow to it. Chemical peels are especially effective in erasing fine lines under the eyes and around the mouth, for smoothing areas of rough skin, evening out pigmentation and age spots, eliminating small scars, and improving tone and texture. The total time in the office for this procedure is approximately 30 minutes. Peeling after the treatment is normal, and may last for 3-5 days. Be sure to protect the treated area from the sun by staying indoors or by using a broad-spectrum sunscreen. #facial #face #peel #skin #wrinkles #plasticsurgery #amazing #look #love #cute #peace #happy #amazing #awesome #perfection #baby #ponchiky #sweet #instagood #art #nature #love

In 2011, over 1.3 million men chose to have surgical and minimally invasive cosmetic procedures, according to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS). This is on the rise since 2010. More men than ever are coming to Plastic Surgery to seek solutions to their aesthetic challenges. These patients invest in their appearance for professional or personal purposes, and we have the treatments available to help them achieve their goals. Although treatments like facial plastic surgery, cosmetic injectables, and liposuction are available to both men and women, each of the following is provided specifically for men who are looking to improve their body shape, including: Calf Augmentation, Gynecomastia (Male Breast Reduction) Pectoral Augmentation, Rhinoplasty, Blepharoplasty, Liposuction, Facelift..etc. Many of the same surgical procedures that are performed on women – such as liposuction, tummy tucks, and facelifts – can be also performed on men. However, since the composition of a man’s body is so different from a woman’s, the goal of surgery may also be quite different. #plasticsurgery #aesthetic #male #happy #awesome #amazing #look #life #swag #style #smile #photooftheday #cool #fitness #instagood #summer #photo #peace #perfect #masculino

The Brazilian Butt Lift surgery (BBL) is a butt augmentation procedure that results in a more prominent, perky and attractive buttocks, sensuous silhouette and hourglass figure. Your own body fat is used to augment the buttocks in the most natural of ways. With age, the buttocks can drop. A Brazilian Butt Lift helps fight the effects of aging. Considered a safe form of plastic surgery, the Brazilian Butt Lift applies the use of a patient’s own tissue. This is a benefit that helps to provide amazing, long-lasting results. #buttlifting #brazil #plasticsurgery #aesthetic #buttockaugmentation #miracle #transformation #drelsaborodina #beauty #life #girl #beautiful #cute #love #happy

Buttock augmentation surgery, or sometimes referred to as a Brazilian butt lift, is a procedure where fat is harvested from other parts of the body and injected into the buttocks to increase the size of your buttocks. This procedure can: Increase fullness, roundness and projection of your buttock Improve the balance of your figure Enhance your self-image and self-confidence Buttock augmentation surgery is right for someone who does not like the shape of their buttock or is looking to balance their body. It is commonly performed in one of two ways, with implants or fat transfer. The fat transfer procedure is commonly known as a “Brazilian butt lift.” You will be asked to avoid prolonged sitting for about two weeks. This is very important because prolonged sitting will damage the fat. You will also be encouraged to sleep face down or on your side. When you do have to sit, you will have to use a pillow or cushion placed behind the legs (hamstring muscles) to help raise the buttock avoiding pressure onto the fat grafts. #butlift #transformation #miracle #plasticsurgery #sexy #cosmeticsurgery #beforeandafter #girl #amazing #look #love #cute #peace #happy #sun #photooftheday #nature #art #summer #follow

Approved by the FDA in June 2006, Juvederm™ is a non-surgical, injectable gel used to restore the skin’s volume and correct wrinkles and nasolabial folds. From the creators of Botox® Cosmetic, Juvederm™ is considered a “next generation” injectable; it is a dermal facial filler made of a smooth consistency gel that is composed of cross-linked hyaluronic acid. Juvederm is a family of injectable hyaluronic acid dermal fillers used to provide 9 months to one year of correction for moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds (lines from the nose to the corners of the mouth). The JUVÉDERM® collection of fillers is made from hyaluronic acid (HA). What’s interesting about HA is that it’s a natural substance in the skin that delivers nutrients, helps the skin retain moisture and softness, and adds volume. Each product in the JUVÉDERM® collection of fillers is made from a modified form of HA. JUVÉDERM VOLUMA® XC injectable gel instantly adds volume to the cheek area to correct age-related volume loss in adults over 21. JUVÉDERM® XC injectable gel instantly smooths moderate to severe parentheses lines and wrinkles around your nose and mouth. JUVÉDERM® Ultra XC injectable gel is for lip augmentation in adults over 21. Results Juvederm™ maintains corrective results for an average of six months. Some patients experience a longer-lasting effect. Additional injections and touch-ups may be needed to achieve optimal correction. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance and will gradually absorb into the body. #cosmeticsurgery #aesthetic #beautiful #happy #girl #instagood #plasticsurgery #juvederm #dermalfillers #dermalogica #cute #love #antiaging #miracle #life #health #instadaily #art #perfect #perfection #face #style #smile #photo #picoftheday
