Thinking about Two Bit on the anniversary of Johnny and Dally’s deaths. How his mind is screaming at him and he’s fighting so hard not to turn to alcohol to quiet his head. He just misses them so much. All the time, but especially today. And he doesn’t really have anyone to go to. He can’t go to Pony because god knows that kid is drowning so much grief already. He can’t go to Soda because he’s got to be so worried about Pony, and Two Bit can’t add to his stress. Not to mention the fact that Johnny was Soda’s friend first and he’s got to be upset today. Darrel is so busy working while trying to help his brother, so he’s out too. Ace is no doubt trying to do something to take her mind off Dally and Steve is probably with her. So he can’t go to any of them, especially when he can’t bring himself to lighten anyone’s mood today. So he calls Marcia. He calls her almost in tears and asks her to come over and just stay with him. Because he’s trying really hard to keep staying sober but he just doesn’t trust himself today. And the biggest thing she’s taught him is that it’s ok for him to ask for help. So he does.

Thinking about how Marcia comes over and just finds him sitting on the curb outside his house because he doesn’t trust himself. She takes one look and sees that he’s a mess. She can see that his eyes are red and puffy, there are still tear tracks on his cheeks, and she hears the way his voice breaks when he admits that he doesn’t trust himself right now. So she sits down next to him and takes his hand. She pulls him close and just holds him while he cries against her. She even finds herself tearing up at the amount of pain he’s in. After a little while, she gets him to at least drink some water. And she just nods when he asks her if she’s ok with him talking about them. That’s how she finds out more about them. Because Two Bit tells her stories about Dally doing something stupid and then bragging about it for months. He tells her a lot about Johnny a lot. About how he’d come to Two Bit’s house a lot if he didn’t think he could go home. He tells her about how he was the closest Two Bit ever had to a little brother. She offers that they can go to the cemetery but Two Bit just shook his head. He didn’t want to remember them as just two small tombstones. He wants to remember them as the life they had. He wants to remember Dally’s laugh and Johnny’s quiet smile.

Thinking about Seans Trip who gets mad at Bob and puts his body in front of Marcia to protect her after “eat shit Marcia” while K Cso and Henrys Trips just get mad at Marcia and try to hold her back…

Had Johnny lived, he would’ve gotten a new look on life and wanted to work with kids like himself (rip Johnny Cade part two you would’ve loved to hate on CPS "standards")

Now had DALLY lived, he would’ve ended up in prison or on the streets selling drugs (probably both)

Steve starts going over to Two-Bit’s when his dad kicks him out because Two misses when Johnny would sleep over

Two-Bit drinks much more after Johnny and Dally pass away and possibly tests it with hard drugs in the 70s to deal with his pain

Cough cough Sandy’s baby being Dally’s

Marcia and Two-Bit have a secret relationship for years until Marcia’s parents find out and disown her 

Pony not getting married or having children but being the coolest uncle ever (he doesn’t visit often but he calls every other week)

Steve and Soda opening a mechanic shop together at some point in the future. Or Soda working at a stable again. I rlly like both

Cherry and Marcia becoming nurses in adulthood and ALWAYS gossiping about the annoying/mean patients

So like, I know I did poor Marcia dirty- but like, I can't draw teeth and my dumbass decided to draw teeth!!!! Also I tried to draw ship art, but I was about to set the paper on fire (lucky you can barely see erased pencil marks) so you get a cute lil doodle of those two together instead!!!! But yeah, Daryl Tofa looks fine, but poor Sarahgrace.. girl i'm so sorry I did your drawing dirty... prob will redraw her sometime, but tomorrow i'm prob gonna do Cherry, Soda, or Darrel (Maybe all 3, maybe none, we'll see my motivation by than)

Ponyboy would’ve killed himself had it not been for Darry, soda, and two-bit.

No I’m serious. Looking back on the book you can clearly see just how bad mentally he was doing after the death of Johnny.

He was completely delusional and kept trying to convince himself that Johnny wasn’t dead. Going so far as to tell other people, Randy, that Johnny wasn’t dead and he was actually the one who killed Bob.

Ponyboys mental health took a nose dive after Johnnys death and i genuinely believe he would have killed himself had his family and friends not been there. In the movie Two-bit and Ponyboy hang out all day while his brothers are at work. Making it impossible for him to kill/hurt himself. When two-bit isn’t around, it’s Darry and soda keeping an eye on him.

Ponyboy famously said “why couldn’t dally take it, but I could”

You couldn’t take it Ponyboy. You couldn’t, but you had no way of being able to actually do anything about it. The Curtis gang accidentally saved his life.

Ponyboy Curtis would’ve ended up dead and I stand by that.

Haven’t decided yet if I want to rejoice or cry over this taking 9 hours; but that’s for future me to decide. Lowkey not too happy w/ this drawing but FUCK IT WE BALL and I don’t wanna spend anymore time on it.
