The Indian state of Manipur has been experiencing large scale violence and displacement since mid 2023. This organisation helps feed the children in Manipur who have suffered through atrocities for almost a year now, along with organising art, music and other creative workshops. Consider d0nating to them or amplifying their posts on Instagram and on this app as well.

hello, the hindublr cynic here. people in manipur are still being fucking murdered. the government who claims for an amrit kaal is doing jack shit for them. queer people in india are still unsafe (personal experiences here so try and prove me wrong!). sc/st people still suffer. hindi politics has lead to hate crimes against south indian settlers (so apparently india does not have 22 offical languages? /src). so, use the same energy y'all had for the pran prathistha for these things too because i've never seen most one of you speak up about it.
#i am not even gonna breach up palestine here because some of y'all the most rancid islamophobes ever!#anyways#medu rambles#desiblr#hindublr#manipur#anti hindutva facism#queer india#okay but will i get murdered if i said that india is turning into a fucking theocracy#and many of y'all need to revise your political science books

Our system is a joke.
Jokes are taken as crime and crimes as jokes.
What happened at India's got latent was joke and a bad one.But it's not so serious to make it a national issue, no one is talking about the real problems in our country. It has become so annoying.
Manipur is burning and it's cm has resined. The stamped at maha kumb, the worst management in maha kumb and the 300km jam.RGK case and Atual subhash case, are not made a issue but our cm of maharashtra and Assam are not concerned about it but they are concerned about a 10 year old joke.
It's really stupid
Rapists, terrorists, abusers and murders are rooming around freely and we don't have a problem with it but we have a problem with a joke.
In 2015 this same thing happened with AIB now with India's got latent.
It's really stupid at your part as a society.India can never grown if you make small issues into a national issue. There are many politions who have done many henius crimes bit there is not action taken against them..

Hi guys! So this is a little bit of a serious post and I had to post this since I haven't seen anything related to this anywhere. Manipur, a state in India, is in a state of civil war. And it has been going for more than 5 months now, without any proper action from the government. The people there are practically left to fend for themselves.
I am attaching an article below for further information:
And if you wanna go into more depth about the government's ignorance here is a video:
youtube
The video is in Hindi language but it does have English subtitles available.
Please please reblog as much as you can. The violence is deadly and basically the whole state is suffering because of it for the last 5 months. Horrifying things are being done to them, especially the women and children.

The BJP often fends off allegations of being “anti-women” by highlighting its record number of women ministers in government. However, as their track record reveals, BJP women politicians are mouthpieces for defending patriarchy. Irani, for instance, has remained a mute spectator to the atrocities against women in BJP-ruled Manipur. Modi himself has often made derogatory remarks against his female political opponents, be it West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee or senior Congress leader Sonia Gandhi. If Hindutva foot-soldiers revel in misogyny, then it can be ascribed to the trickle-down effect of those at the top.

India: Renewed Ethnic Violence in Manipur State
Authorities Should Protect All Communities, End Divisive Policies

(New York) – Indian authorities should urgently intervene to address renewed violence between ethnic groups in India’s northeastern state of Manipur, Human Rights Watch said today. Both the Manipur state and central governments should take prompt measures to resolve disputes, investigate abuses, and appropriately punish those responsible.
Armed groups from the predominantly Christian Kuki-Zo community and the mostly Hindu Meitei community have engaged in deadly violence, which has reportedly killed at least 11 people. Students and others have protested the violence, and some have clashed with security forces and attacked government buildings. On September 10, 2024, the Manipur state government imposed a curfew in three districts and suspended the internet in five districts until September 15.
“The state government’s response to increasingly violent ethnic clashes in Manipur has just caused greater harm,” said Meenakshi Ganguly, deputy Asia director at Human Right Watch. “Instead of protecting vulnerable communities and upholding the rule of law, the authorities have deepened longstanding anger and distrust among the communities through polarizing policies.”
Manipur’s Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state government, led by Chief Minister N. Biren Singh, an ethnic Meitei, has replicated his party’s divisive policies used nationally to promote Hindu majoritarianism. He has publicly claimed without any basis that the Kuki were providing sanctuary to illegal immigrants from Myanmar and engaged in drug trafficking, deforestation, and militancy.
Since May 2023, over 200 people have been killed and hundreds injured. More than 60,000 people have been displaced and are living in cramped shelters. Several Kuki women have reported sexual violence and rape by Meitei mobs. Homes, businesses, villages, and places of worship, mostly targeting the Kuki community, have been burned down, attacked, and vandalized.

TW: Violent rape, Manipur, India.
What's happening in Manipur?

This is a screenshot from the video of two Kuki tribal women being gang-raped in the North Eastern Indian state of Manipur. The video, recorded by the rapists is freely available online for the time being, although the Indian government is threatening legal action against Twitter for exposing the incident. The incident allegedly happened back in May, when the communal riots began in Manipur. We're only seeing it now, because the Internet has been shut down in the state since the rioting began. We don't know how many women have been victimised, we don't know how many people have perished. The rest of the country barely knows what's been happening in Manipur for the past months because of the Internet shutdown.
The police are complicit. The union government is complicit.
Manipur is burning.
https://m.thewire.in/article/rights/manipur-police-women-video-paraded-naked

HE is complicit.
During the Hathras rape, when the victim's body was unceremoniously burned by police after her family was locked inside.
During the Unnao rape when the victim's family was publicly threatened and abused by the rapists' upper caste community.
During the Kathua rape, where the victim was eight years old and murdered inside a temple.
During the Wrestler's protest, when Modi refuses to oust the rapist.

Posting after a long time but here's a suggestion to all the people out there crying about Israel-Palestine...
How about you first look after your own country? You can't have a literal silent civil war or systematic genocide of minorities in your own country and preach stuff about peace and rights. C'mon, South Asians, my dear Indians, Bangladeshis, Pakistanis, Nepalis and Sri Lankans, you know what I'm talking about. Your nations are not doodh ka dhula (a hindi idiom for pure or innocent), so maybe take care of those issues too while you're at it? Our countries are probably the epitome of racism, discrimination and persecution lol. And Indians, yo, Manipur??? :)))

manipur never stopped burning. any cm possessing a sordid facsimile of shame would have held themself accountable and resigned while any capable leader of a country would not have turned a blind eye to the conflict there. this horror is absolutely not permissible. it should not be forgotten.
