I feel like Disney has been almost maliciously casting black and brown women in these live action remakes to generate public discourse, and they're leaving these poor actresses to fend for themselves almost? They don't seem to protect them in any meaningful way. The quality of the movies themselves is awful, and these women get the (extremely racist, misogynistic and misplaced) blame like it's somehow their fault that the movie is bad. Disney is pumping out garbage and it feels like they know it, but as long as the reaction is profoundly racist against the lead actresses and not actually thoughtful critiques of the quality of the writing and effects and screenplay the company itself can easily dismiss ALL dissatisfaction as infected racist discourse. Am I making sense

my mom just had a 7cm brain tumor removed and since she's woken up she's been talking nonstop about this dream she had about going to an art gallery full of colourful paintings by a 'homosexual artist' named klimsdorf who was ethereal and wise, both young and old... at first she was convinced he was a real person but after failing to find him online she's accepted he was a figment of her subconscious mind and is now determined to bring him to life via painting his portrait herself. she's 67 and has never drawn in her life. and now this. blorbo from her tumor

JD Vance is weird.
The misogyny and thirst for power have eaten his brain. His wife and kids are props.
The only father more weird is Trump.
Both these men lack humanity.

Update on this: We filed separate formal complaints. The creep has been suspended for two weeks while the investigation goes on and can't come on office premises.
He's also received show cause notices and responded to them with his version of the incidents. All lies and twisting facts of course. We got his response on Friday and having to read that delusional shit ruined my weekend lol. Now we need to respond to HIS response making clarifications etc.
There's a creep at my work who's been creeping on various women at the office for months. He's like 40 and has been reported by several 22-25 year old women before but his manager blocked it from getting escalated to HR to protect his ass. Well he's finally creeped out one too many women and my friend who is the most recent one to be creeped on went and complained. The entire office knows by now and the senior manager wants three of us including me to send an email reporting the specific incidents of him creeping on us. It's the weekend and I have to write an email talking about the stuff the creep said to me.

We have brothers, sons, lovers – but they can’t live here!’ The happy home shared by 26 women
With residents aged from 58 to 94, New Ground is the UK’s first cohousing community exclusively for older women. Setting it up was an 18-year battle – but with soaring numbers of people living alone, is this an idea whose time has come?
Chipping Barnet, a leafy suburb of north London, is an unlikely location for a feminist utopia. Yet it is here, at the top of the high street, past the Susi Earnshaw theatre school and the Joie de Vie patisserie, that you will find Britain’s first cohousing community exclusively for women over 50. The purpose-built development is entirely managed by the women who set it up as an alternative to living alone.
New Ground’s entrance, all glass and bold typography, could easily be mistaken for a co-working space, as could the common room I am ushered into. Everything is bright, airy and spotlessly clean. The walls are lined with sleek white bookcases and a cinema-grade TV screen. The only clue as to the residents’ demographic is an unfinished 1,000-piece jigsaw on a table overlooking the large garden.

Relevant to that article on male suffering:
I was discussing this with a friend recently, with regards to Valerie Solanas. She is usually talked about either with derision or extreme contempt, as a complete psycho; the total lack of compassion for her lifetime of suffering is mind-blowing. Men have put her through pretty much every horrifying experience a woman can go through. She was raped by her father age 5/6, then raped by her stepfather as a teen so that she had a first child when she was 14, then a second one the next year, whom she had to give up for adoption. She was homeless for decades and had to prostitute herself to survive, with everything that entails. She also spent years in detention centres and mental hospitals in horrific living conditions (cockroaches in her food and the like), where she was raped again, by prison doctors this time. When she got out she went back to being homeless (and said that was worse than living in lunatic asylums), and since she was now infamous as the Warhol shooter she had people spitting on her in the street and generally lived a life of extreme isolation and poverty. In the last years of her life several people who knew her reported having seen her begging in the streets, covered in sores and wearing nothing but a blanket.
None of this is ever brought up at all to take even an iota of responsibility off of her for shooting Warhol, or to justify or excuse her ‘insane’ opinions. Most people probably don’t even know about it. But a man can rape (or murder) multiple women and girls and his backstory that “led” him to this is always taken into account. Even the people who don’t see his suffering as a mitigating factor at least know about it because it’s talked about, asked about; it matters. Male suffering is grotesquely over-valued, over-acknowledged and pandered to—by men and women alike—while female suffering isn’t worth mentioning, let alone caring about. Which is why male serial killers have fangirls on tumblr, who probably despise Valerie Solanas if they’ve heard of her… One of the most feminist acts you can do is to stop wasting any of your empathy on men and redirect it towards women, because the worldwide imbalance in compassion is completely off the charts.
