Seeing people say Jinshi is not all that and how his relevance doesn’t make sense HURTS ME… 😓
Guys, he’s a complex character, trust me 💔💔 People often seem to forget that he’s not just a silly ‘airhead’ in love. Even Maomao MULTIPLE times acknowledges & mentions how scary and intelligent Jinshi is. Like, he realized Maomao was literate in the matter of a few mins and then he used that against her cuz he realized she must’ve been the one who warned Lady Gyoukyo
And then there’s just some people who hate him cuz he’s twisted & say that makes him a sh*tty leading character
Which i don’t get?? Of course the leads of a thriller mystery will be manipulative or sly. Or at the very least flawed to some capacity. Even Maomao herself is almost equally twisted and tends to be self serving Them both being flawed is what makes them intriguing characters. They both have their vices that they acknowledge - vices that add another layer of complexity upon their characters. Do you imagine how uninteresting this series would become if Jinshi was seriously JUST a silly lover boy and Maomao was a simple girl ready to help ANYTIME AND ANY DAY instead of being the way she is? This story’s charm comes not only just from the intriguing setting/mysteries but also how these flawed, yet interesting, characters act and think in said settings.

My husband cannot get over the costumes in OPLA and not because he thinks they’re amazingly camp and spot on to the animanga (which they are) but because “what is this Target looking ass shirt” “I swear to god they bought that at Target for budget cuts” “I AM TELLING YOU I HAVE SEEN THIS EXACT SHIRT AT TARGET YOU AIN’T SLICK NETFLIX” and it kills me every time we watch it together
#he is such a goober#and even though I think the costumes are fucking perfect#…I also don’t think he’s wrong#😅😅😅#😂😂😂#mine#opla#one piece#one piece netflix#one piece live action#anime#manga#live action adaptation#anime adaptation#manga adaptation#eiichiro oda#oda eiichiro

I'm worried about how Digital Circus will be seen in the future. The show only has three episodes and yet it has built up a fandom that takes other shows years to build up, has a pop up shop in Japan, an upcoming manga, is on Netflix and has merchandise galore.
I understand that the show kinda has to "sell out" because animation especially a cgi indie series that has (so far) introduced new locations and characters each episode is very expensive. But it still makes me worry about how the show will be perceived.
The speed at which this is happening makes me worry that the show will become the new cool thing to hate before the ninth (and final) episode even comes out. Not because of anything in the actual show but just because of people being sick of seeing it everywhere.

House of Sayuri (2024)
Directed by: Koji Shiraishi
Genre: Horror, Supernatural
Synopsis:
The Kamiki family has moved into their dream single-family home. The happy time of the 7-member family was short-lived. A family where each member dies one by one, with strange laughter heard from somewhere. There is something in this house… ~ Adapted from the manga series "Sayuri" (サユリ) by Oshikiri Rensuke (押切蓮介).
An exciting horror manga adaptation!
I love Oshikiri Rensuke's works, especially Misu Misou, and I just finished reading Sayuri as well - which is another awesome recommendation. This manga has a ton of creepy and insane moments!
I couldn't find this movie streaming anywhere, but I hope it becomes available soon. Oh, and have I mentioned that it's directed by the same director who brought us Noroi: The Curse, Dark Tales of Japan, and Occult? I'm even more excited now! Here's the trailer:

HIDAMARI GA KIKOERU (2024, JAPAN)
Episode 3
A Little insight into Taichi (KOBAYASHI TORANOSUKE) this episode.
A girl showed interest in Taichi (or so he thought) she actually was interested in Kohei (NAKAZAWA MOTOKI) which was cool but when she made him into a plot line from a book she happen to be reading. Taichi showed his friendship by defending Kohei.
The way the friendship has developed is beautiful but for Kohei he's looking at Taichi with the eyes of admiration plus maybe romantic interest.
Note: Recently watched the movie adaptation from 2017 called SILHOUETTE OF YOUR VOICE as it was released on VIKI a few months ago.
I'm enjoying the series a bit more...so far.

My Opinions on the Different KumoDesu Adaptations.
-Overall
The Light Novel is the best, both the Manga and Anime Adaption unfortunately bungled the Plot in different ways. Cutting out the Human Side (Manga Adaption) or Rushing the Plot (Anime Adaption) messes with the Pacing and Foreshadowing.
-Web Novel vs Light Novel:
The author himself said that the Web Novel is sort of the “bad end” where the Light Novel is the “good/true end” of the series. Therefore I haven’t read the WN but only the LN because the WN sounds depressing.
-Manga:
The Manga cuts out the changing perspective which messes with the narrative (particularly foreshadowing and world building that Shun is responsible for) a lot. Also, though I never wanna put down someone’s art (because I’m sure they will improve with time), the character design changes are really bad looking. My personal pet peeve will forever be giving Kumoko three body segments making her NOT A SPIDER by definition. But I must give credit where credit is due, paneling is really hard and no one talks about the skill it takes turning a mainly text media into a manga layout and they did a great job on that front.
-Anime:
The human side does not suck the Anime just adapted it poorly. The Anime tries to cram in a lot of plot so they cut out most of the fun character interactions that make you like them (mostly Shun and Katia’s Relationship and Childhood) but also somehow missed and fumbled major plot points that are super important later on (Bee Fight, Leston Rescue, and Kumoko’s Reaction To Maxing Taboo as Top Three). It was fun if you know the series though, just to see parts of it animated was nice. Also simplified versions of the Light Novel designs are appreciated.

Japanese series and their tendency to hit our hearts with angst never fails
The feeling of loneliness and worthlessness when one has nothing, the person will stop expecting anything from life and will treat the bare minimum as the happiness.
Kai deserves better.
Also Bonus (Spoiler if you have not caught up to this episode):
It escalated quite quickly
