Happy 10th anniversary to Touken Ranbu!

In honor of this I thought I'd share my wishful crossover headcanons (I highly doubt it'll actually happen as an actual collaboration but one can dream?)

✨��� TKRB x Malevolent Spirits: Mononogatari ✨✨

The ultimate OP crossover imo because the entire world of Mononogatari deals exclusively with tsukumogami.... And tkrb characters are all tsukumogami!

If you like tkrb lore and the ayakashi/yokai aspect, I definitely recommend reading the Mononogatari manga - so. much. tsukumogami. lore!!!!

Especially the current ongoing arc!

Anyways... Incoming lore and headcanon dump!....

‼️ maybe mild spoilers? Idk, so proceed with caution ‼️ ....

I can only imagine the field day they'd all have with each other XD

The swords/spears can meet other kinds of tsukumogami, like ink bottles, haori coats, mirrors and more. (There are so many!!!)

Hopefully not any paper umbrellas though.

And the three saenome families and their people* Hyoma, Botan and her tsukumogami family can all meet the tsukumogami of national/cultural treasures.

I can't remember if Botan is majoring in history or literature (or if it was even mentioned) but either way I think she and the rest of them would definitely be fielding questions at the tkrb folk left and right! Over some nice tea and snacks of course.

Tbh, tkrb folk would probably feel right at home with these guys as Hyoma, Botan and her family all live fairly normal lives in a human-tsukumogami mixed household :)

*(I don't know how the saenome families would take this because saenome clan people are all exorcists and their jobs are to seal and send tsukumogami back to the spirit world (or have them adjust among humans, on a case by case basis) - but if they do meet, I bet there are a few history buffs in the ranks just absolutely losing their minds over them at the very least!)

Nagi would honestly be in high heaven with tkrb folk as he himself is a sword tsukumogami too hehe. (It'd be interesting to see, too, because Nagi can summon his sword self from his hands vs having his sword form physically separate from himself like the tkrb folk - see reference below)

Hyoma's reaction... I think he'll be more impressed and accept the situation and go into "let's train/fight!" mode (no door pulls though, Hyoma!). Probably would be a bit weary but chill nonetheless.

I wonder if Botan would be akin to saniwa in power or even more overpowered? Maybe Time Government level power!? And what reaction tkrb folk would have to her (iykyk - don't want to spoil) being who she currently is.

Will they be able to identify her secret? Can Botan herself take out the entire History Retrograde army???

I need answers!

So yeah, that's my two cents and my wishful thinking XD

But the new tkrb trailer and the current arc going on in the manga for Mononogatari both expanding on tsukumogami/yokai and world lore.... 😌😌😌

This is kind of fun! She’d never had a part-time job before. In high school, when her classmates hurried off after the last bell, leaving the cleaning to her, she’d felt… envious. Like she was missing out.

“I’ve got this.” Pushing back her sleeves, Botan leverages the pot of rice off the counter, but gravity takes hold and it is suddenly much heavier. With a crash that has every saenome in the cafeteria half out of their chairs, talismans at the ready, Botan grimaces,
