i see a lot of complaints about the women of black butler and people saying "who is this fanservice for?!" and its kind of funny to me, because yana has put into the extras pages who that fanservice is for (spoiler alert: its for her)

"Jade! At a point during early development he had an over-the-top punk haircut and his ears were covered in accessories. He was toned down to suit the aesthetic of Mostro Lounge. Everyone was kind of toned down to make it easier to adapt them to outfit changes.”

"Kalim! In the early stages of his character design he had a small monkey for a familiar. Other students had their own beasts or familiars as well, including owls, penguins, puppies, etc."
