I forgot how ethereal the Dark Elf ships are internally. The movie is so dark, sometimes it’s hard to see. So I brightened this up and I gotta say, it’s as haunting as it is beautiful. At least I think so.

Also shoutout to Malekith for looking every bit as regal and spooky as his ship💀👍

“Thor et.al. Pen, Tombow brush, pen, and India ink. 11 x 17. 2023.

Thor and characters I created during my time writing and drawing the book. One of a series of Thor drawings I've done for charity auctions. Not much of a series yet. This is only the second auction piece although I've drawn three drawings based on this composition. It'll be auctioned at the NYCCon this weekend to raise funds for St. Jude's Hospital.

Top to bottom - the Thor Frog, Beta Ray Bill, Kurse, Lorelei, and Malekith the Accursed. The background is the minion level of the Time Variance Authority. I introduced the TVA in Thor although I didn't draw the minions until I was working on the FF. At least that's how I remember it. But I thought they'd make nice wallpaper here, an idea inspired by a conversation with my Son-in-Law. Thanks, Bryant.

The TVA have also upgraded their computers. Back in 1991 or so, they were using older models more or less like some old Apple versions. Now, they've gone to flat screens. :-)”

My version of Malekith the Accursed. I will never understand why, having all those amazing pieces of concept art, they made Eccleston sit through countless hours of makeup and prosthetics to end up making him look so... meh...

So I made a mix-and-match and came up with this, which is more or less how I (loosely) describe him in my current fict, "17 seconds earlier", where he's... let us say, far more fearsome.

I know the design might not be movie worthy, but at least he looks like a Sorcerer King instead of a regular mook.

“Please, I don’t wanna go. I don’t wanna go—!” (Mal because 10th doctor right to the feels)

No.

Malekith's head snapped upward and towards his daughter's voice.

NO.

Fear seized his dual hearts as his eyes met hers; grey and filled with terror.

"Father--" She croaked, and then, as Malekith watched in horror, she started to disintegrate.

"NO!" He launched himself towards Emily as she fell. He caught her just before she hit the ground, dropping to his knees so hard that sharp pains skirted up his thighs. Malekith ignored them. This wasn't happening. This could not be happening. Not again.

"Don't--" he cried, frantically pushing her dirtied white hair from her face as if that might somehow stop the inevitable. It didn't of course, and as she reached up to grab his shoulder, as words formed on her trembling lips, his only child (his last remaining child) crumbled to dust in his arms.

Malekith let out an anguished cry, doubling over and slamming his fists into the hard earth below. Why, he asked himself, shaking and cursing as tears spilled from his eyes. Why am I damned to this fate? Why must everyone I love be taken from me?

A bemused little smile tugged the former Dark Elf's mouth. He didn't miss the knot between her brows, nor the confused concern swirling in her eyes. What was it they said on this planet? Not to take a book at face value? Something like that, and it described their relationship as well.

"Sorry love," Malekith said; the pet name felt strange on his tongue, but if ever there were a time for honesty, it was now. He looked at her, really looked at this fearsome firecracker of a woman that had quite literally dropped into his life as if she were just that. If only he'd spent less time quarreling with her.

"There is something I must do," he told her, and then he kissed her, really kissed her--deep and long and filled with good-bye. When he pulled back, it was with a smile that he greeted her, a real, somber smile, echoing that farewell.

Last Look - Mal and Maddy

Maddie looked up at Mal a bit perplexed as her face was smushed against his hands. His grip was firm, but not painful. She took a few moments to drink in his face and expression before breaking the silence. "For a man who does not like touching, you are breaking some very personal personal space." Maddie taunted, before furrowing her brows as if to ask a question without asking it. What's wrong?

Who do you think is the worst written villain from all the TV shows/movies you've watched ?

So this is an interesting question.

Because to me, the worst written villain is not a one note villain, or a confused villain. It’s a boring villain. A boring villain is a badly written villain. The concept could be great, but if they are dull it’s bad writing.

In Anime, one prime example is Kaguya otsusuki

Last minute villain plot twist for a character with little relevance to the story and while super powerful… is boring as can be.

And I love Naruto, but this final villain was at BEST an asspull

For western media.

Not only boring but his plans were reliant on the stupidity of the main cast. It’s really hard to believe anyone trusted this guy, and he even made being a DARK Avatar boring.

Which is such a shame.

Now for movie villains, there is a BROAD list of villains I find badly written. A lot of twist villains from Disney come to mind. But there is one clear answer. And I had to look up his name.

Malekith the Accursed

He’s from Thor 2, I bet not a single person reading this knew that was his full name. Or even what he did in this movie.

It was a cliche plot with horrible dialogue that made the death of the main character’s mother so forgettable I actually forgot Frigga was in the MCU.

Malekith is by far the lamest and worst written villain. Because he is so boring I fell asleep watching him.
