hey tojiscrack! (can’t get over ur user lolll!) just wanted to drop by again to say that your fic is absolutely divine—truly everything i could ever want and more. i had a quick observation to share, though i’m not entirely sure if it holds up. ♡⸜(˶˃ ᵕ ˂˶)⸝♡

so, from what i recall, megumi doesn’t like change (or am i tripping? i think it was mentioned in the earlier chapters). he seems very at ease with the current dynamic he shares with our little mermaid—so accustomed to her being by his side that the idea of anyone else being interested in her feels almost bizzare to him. ｢( • ﾍ •)

so far, there hasn’t been a strong, viable love interest for y/n other than megumi. even the flyer guy, who showed some interest, was quickly brushed aside. megumi seemed relieved by that, since it meant his status quo remained intact, with no real threat to disrupt the life he’s so familiar with as y/n wasn’t interested/didn’t even realize flyer guy had a crush on her. nothing changed and life could continue as normal for them hehe. (๑˃́ꇴ˂̀๑)

now we have kamo expressing interest in someone, and while it could be anyone, my hunch is that it’s y/n (big surprise, right?). if y/n and kamo end up together, as you hinted at with the love triangle, it seems inevitable that megumi will *hate* it—much like he hated change in earlier chapters. even if it turns out to be the flyer guy, the result would be the same: megumi would despise the shift because it upends his sense of stability and changes the way things already are.

it feels like megumi’s aversion to change runs so deep that he’d rather remain friends with y/n and preserve the life he knows than risk complicating things by acting on his feelings. we’ve seen hints of his internal struggle, from how he reacted to her in elementary school, the airport hug scene, the dance scene, and more recently, when he claimed no one could have a crush on her, tweaking at the thought when she brought it up, how cute!! ⸜(｡˃ ᵕ ˂ )⸝

i hope this makes sense, but essentially, my point is that megumi likely views anyone interested in y/n as a threat to his normalcy. he’s so resistant to change that it will undoubtedly be a major theme in the story, especially as y/n’s potential new relationship forces him to confront the reality that change is an inevitable part of life, especially as they grow older and navigate adolescence. 

or maybe i’m just yapping and everything i’ve said is just me doing obstacles to prove a point that doesn’t exist? idk, i saw the foreshadowing tag and now all i’ve been doing is actively looking for it hehe.

no, you are most certainly not tripping. i think it was elementary school or smth, it was not only mentioned but vaguely implied that megumi the porcupine doesn’t like change. like, at all. he’s comfortable with the way things are: i wanted to parallel it to canon (EVERYTHING INSIDE THIS BRACKET IN BOLD INCLUDES MANGA SPOILERS FROM JJK266!!! — it was mentioned, tho i can’t remember the exact wording, that megumi just wants to be able to do the simple things with his family, the example being laundry. the change he experienced with sukuna and jujutsu society in general after gojo’s sealing was something he didn’t like, at all. albeit, it was very extreme, ANYONE would hate it, but his stance on doing something as simple as laundry inspired this stance megumi has in ‘liar, liar’, where he wants to remain comfortable with his friends and family as he is, a parallel to canon).

here comes the debate tho! some of my readers have completely forgotten about jeremiah (the flyer guy), whereas others acknowledge him and believe him to be important in terms of the second love interest for the love triangle, and then you, who believes that he was important for the sole purpose of proving that point you’ve just made: that megumi was relieved by him being shrugged off, ‘cause it meant, in ur words, that ‘his status quo remained intact’.

because of the fact that everyone’s kinda torn on this, i am not gonna tell you whether you’re right or not 😋 i would have if there was just one collective stance on jeremiah, but there isn’t, and it’s fun reading all these theories, debates and predictions :) but i’m gonna say this: out of the three predictions for jeremiah, only one is completely right. now it’s time for everyone to guess which one it is (muahahahaha)!!!

Max gave you a look of displeasure. He pursed his lips, raising his shot of tequila in cheers before downing it. You flipped the ping pong racket in your hand playfully, a teasing look on your face as your opponent got ready for another round.

Not so long ago, after arriving at a bar max recommended, you and him discovered an unoccupied ping pong table with all the equipment needed for a few rounds. You both gave it a shot, finding no harm in a few rounds. And amidst the talk of getting to know each other, Max discovered that you were not a big fan of Red bull— the drink. 

Of course he was in disbelief and gave you an offended look before turning the once calm game into a drinking one. Well at least for him, since you decided to be the reserve driver for the night. 

For each ball you miss, you drink a big gulp of Red Bull, the summer edition. And for every ball max misses, a shot of tequila. It was a fairly equal game. Each time you missed you'd scrunch your face and gulp, and Max would go on about telling you how it's not that bad. 

It was fun though. You were enjoying your time and soon enough Max was too drunk to stand stable on his feet. Playing any further would be unfair since you're sober and he's dancing to himself singing super max.

"Where are we going?" "We are hoping to sit down and drink water." You tell him, guiding him to the bar where you both sat.

"But water is boring." He argued, not taking his eyes off you as you sat him down before sitting beside him. While you looked through the chalkboard menu, looking for non alcoholic drinks that were more interesting, Max leaned his chin on his palm playing with the strong on your hoodie. 

"Other than red bull, do you want juice?" You offered. Turning to look at the blond, gently pulling the string from his hand. "Hey," He frowned, taking it back. You chuckled at him.

"Alright, princess." You breathed out heavily, opening your car door and helping max in. It took a few seconds before he sat down properly, struggling to put his feet in from the swaying. "Where's your hotel? I'll drop you off." The engine started smoothly when you sat in the driver's seat. 

"Don't remember." Max mumbles watching you lean close and buckle him up. "Don't remember?" You asked again to make sure and he nodded. "How about you stay with me for the night." Max nodded again. He wanted to spend more time with you, he didn't want the night to end just yet.

It was a funny drive, with silly jokes coming from the drunk man and horrible singing as well. "Next time— hic— next time you're in Japan we should go to karaoke." He insisted, scrolling through your phone in search of a good song.

You couldn't wipe the smile on your face, glancing at max through the drive as he sang to purple rain then to Taylor swift. He was such a fun time. Even convincing you to join along in the singing. The windows were down and at the stop lights people looked at you like you were crazy people.

“Hah!” Max cheered when you missed the ball, watching it bounce on the floor rolling away. You put your hands on your hips, glaring at him. “What?” Max picked up another ball, ready to continue with the match. You rolled your eyes playfully, getting ready to smack the ball to the other side again. 

You and Max randomly decide to get together and have a rematch from the small ping pong game from azerbaijan. The blond decided (more like insisted) you play paddle. You tried to pull the ‘i don't have a racket or paddle or whatever you call it for that’ the man, much to your misfortune had an extra. This led to you renting a little court for an hour and a half, forgetting about all the rules and playing with max for the fun of it.

And you were having fun, moving around and laughing as the ball bounced back and forth instead of staying at home in your sim the whole time. The time you spent running and exercising felt even more memorable because you were sharing it with Max, arguing over him throwing two balls to sabotage you or if you saw the ball bounce more than once on his side. 

It was a fun time overall. You stayed until an employee had to ask you to leave. “Thanks for the fun time, Max.” You gave him a fist bump, pulling your bag’s strap over your shoulder. Max smiled like the golden retriever he was, stuffing the paddle racket in his own bag.

“Keep it.” He tells you when you hold out the other racket for him to take.

“It’s yours,” You decline, holding it out further for him, but he only pushes it back towards you.

“It has cooties now, you take it.” He replies sassily. You hold in a chuckle, pursing your lips. That was one way to gift someone your stuff

With one last wave, the two of you departed, you in the Toyota Supra and he in a Honda NSX.

So, here we gooo!

💪 XI - Strength : Soft and deliberate control, guidance and influence, compassion, enduring, reliability.

There has been a few strong influences in Elara's life. First, there were her parents and her big brother who taught her at a very young age all the ropes of a Lantillian traders family business; how to handle money, stocks and cargo, what to do with them, that everything is worth something for someone, what are the needs of the customers of the Outer Rim, when to invest in something, when not to… And, even if she's not thinking it herself, she's good at it. And she had to, in order to survive when all her family died.

Then, there were the Mandalorians of the local covert, with whom her parents had regular business. The tribe were here for her when no-one else was anymore, and she learned a lot from them. Especially Crahl, the instructor, and later, the Armorer.

They taught her other kinds of skills; how to fight, how to shoot, another kind of perceptiveness and quick thinking — those of a hunter.

Fighting was not something that came easily to Elara. And it's still not. But she's strong-willed and went through it, and never regretted it. Even if it earned her some scars…

🌞 XIX - The Sun : Enlightenment, finding the truth, a moment of glory or vitality, trusting your abilities.

I think I have an already-written scene that could very well answer that question. 👀

A few hours of translation later…

At this point in her life, this is the first time she actually was in a situation in which she needed to use all the training she received years ago, and in which it made a difference for someone else than her.

The pain in Elara's back was growing with each step on the cold, cracked plain. She and the farmhand boy had walked for a while in companionable silence; him, muttering some half broken sentences to himself once in a while, and her trying to ignore the pain, imagining how wide and black that bruise would be before the sun had set.

Who knew how painful the parts of a speederbike exploding against rocks could be when received at high speed in one's face?!

She had known worse. She didn't really care. About the bruise, the pain, and the wrecked speeder… That boy was safe now. And he would be even more so as soon as they'd be back in town. Still many klicks away…

"Thanks…"

The boy's voice pulled her from her thoughts.

"What for?"

"For... for helping me," he stuttered with a brief shrug.

For all answer, Elara smiled to him when his eyes searched for hers. They walked for a few more meters when the boy added:

"I mean… This guy killed Mudros! A-and now, he wants to kill me 'cause I saw everything!"

This kid was on the verge of a panic attack. And he had all the reasons to be, honestly! But there was nothing to answer to that, so Elara stayed silent. At least to let him process everything without interfering.

"He could have kill you too! Kriff, he was about to!"

"Don't worry about that…"

But the boy went on:

"That's none of your business, that's-that's…"

He let out a little, nervous yelp and Elara clasped his shoulder in a supportive gesture, slowing down a little. The boy came to a stop.

"And now, you're gonna get killed too ! He will find us, and he's gonna finish the job, to-to silence us, and—"

"Hey, kid," Elara called to him to distract him from his own panic. "Hey, listen…"

He blinked once or twice but looked attentive enough.

"Once we're back in town, you'll tell everything to the marshal and he will either be arrested, or he'll have to flee. The town, at least. He won't bother you, or your family, ever again. Mmh?"

The boy nodded, convinced. Elara didn't know everything about the inner workings of crime syndicates but she was pretty sure that a henchman wouldn't miss the opportunity to leave the planet and disappear somewhere in the galaxy, or to get back grovelling under his overlord's protection as soon as possible, rather than insisting on making all witnesses vanish, and risking to get caught.

"You're just the courier!" the boy cried out still, waving his hands. "Why d'you even care!?"

His bewilderment fed Elara's.

"Why, this... is the way."

Both stared at each other, confused. Then, the boy cast a sweeping look around them.

"Wh-what way ?"

The words came to her so naturally that she didn't even need to think them through. Why wouldn't she have fought when she could do so? Why would she have let that boy be killed by that dirt bag when she had the ability to stop him, that she had every reason to stop him, that it was the right thing to do?

Maybe Crahl's teachings were more ingrained than she dared to hope after all. And maybe the Armorer had hit her hard enough to shape her into something better than just back into human form.

"Nevermind," she dismissed after a perplex silence. "Let's go…"

With a hand on the boy's back, shivering from the cold, she incited him to continue walking.

🌍 XXI - The World : Integration, synthesis, accomplishment, blossoming, fulfilment and wholesomeness.

The whole galaxy is wide and full but it feels too big and too empty when you've lost everyone you loved and cared about. Or at least it's how Elara feels since the loss of all her family in one fell swoop.

After that, she couldn't feel at home anymore, all alone in that empty house she grew up in. She found a bit of comfort for a time with the covert, during her training, but she couldn't stay even if they offered her to take her in.

So, she left the planet and started drifting from world to world, ship to ship, crew to crew for quite some time, never finding a place to call her own, nor was she really seeking one at this point anyway.

Eventually, her path will lead her back to someone she thought she had lost too and, with him and his tiny foundling, she will find a new purpose and feeling of belonging.
