Location, Location, Location...

On a certain corner of Twitter you will often see Tweets like these, where the merits of a city are discussed, most especially in relation to other cities. I always found these kinds of tweets off the mark, there are hardly any differences between even London and Shanghai, much less two American cities (this guy is also wrong about cafes). The whole thing reeks of narcissism and status signaling, as if people are hyping a place up to use the city itself as a fashion statement. After all, it hardly takes any effort to move to a place. Much easier to move to Bushwick and “drift through cafés at night” LARPing as a “bohemian” than to actually do the work of cultivating artistic knowledge or talent.

With the invention of the car and airplane, people have been free to move across the country at the drop of a hat. Much of the population of any given place consists of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd generation transplants from other areas—not to mention, immigrants from other countries. These transplants have over time, diluted and made extinct the varied regional cultures across the US. There is really no longer such a thing as a “Virginian” as there may have been in the 1800s—all local identities and cultures have long been subsumed into that of “American.” The printing press, radio, television, and internet have lead to even more extreme levels of homogenization. What you will find, whether in New York, Chicago, or San Francisco, is that people consume the same media and are subject to the same social pressures as those elsewhere across the country. As I’m sure you’re aware, most people are not really individuals, but status maximizing robots that mirror the tastes and views of high status people and institutions. As those tastes and views are the same no matter where you are, the general population consists of carbon copies of various archetypes with small variations between them and a very small handful of true individuals.

Global brands like Starbucks and McDonald’s have displaced older and more historical retail stores, leading to the same stores and brands in every city. Architecture too, consists of the same steel skyscraper abominations, with maybe, a smattering of a few decaying historical buildings. Even the layout of the city itself is shared between cities, with most being some variation of a grid pattern. Perhaps the only differentiating factor left is the geography of the location itself, such as rivers or mountains. Though really, what is the difference, from our perspective as a city dweller between the Thames and the Potomac? Any city with a river is interchangeable with any other that shares a river.

Although it pains me to say, because I loathe to reduce everything to just numbers, where you live really just boils down to a few key statistics such as average temperature/humidity, population size, cost of living, demographic makeup, crime rate, and available jobs. Some cities may have a quirk, like New York being big or San Jose being full of tech workers, but these are just quirks and do little to meaningfully differentiate the city beyond that one trait. The quality of life and people you meet are really going to be the same as any other place with similar statistics. Any real regional differences in areas have long since evaporated and only exist in the overactive imaginations of Twitter posters.

There is another aspect to the Tweet above that really bothered me, the “be a bohemian” comment. In the current year, the artist is little more than an identity to adopt for status signaling. Real artistic talent, and indeed even knowledge of the arts, has been, along with everything else, on a slow decline since the late 19th century. One does not “become a bohemian” by adopting the signs of a bohemian—drinking coffee in some trendy café in a trendy neighborhood does not make you a bohemian any more than putting on a space suit makes you an astronaut. It is actually impossible to be a bohemian, because the Bohemians, like the beatnik, hippie, hipster, and other related artistic movements are completely dead. You are just LARPing, adopting superficial aspects of some long gone group to craft a fake identity. If you want to channel the spirit of the bohemian, you must be something new entirely.

Fascination with cities or the hottest Brooklyn neighborhoods is a sure sign that you are not, in fact, channeling the spirit of the Bohemian and are instead just a narcissistic poser. This preoccupation with location and physical space is the old mindset of the old world. What distinguishes our age from that of other ages? What is new and exciting about our world? It is undoubtedly the invention of the internet, and so any real artistic movement is likely going to be location agnostic and internet focused. Yet, the internet too, is becoming old news and dying. Given the noted state of decline in just about everything, it’s entirely possible that in the end the internet spawns nothing of note. Still, I’m not holding my breath for “sock_dem” and others caught in this most ancient mindset.

Evelyna Castro is an amazing voice actor and Ex-Miss Wheelchair Washington. Formerly, she also worked as both a makeup artist and a theatre actress. She was born in San Jose, California.

Evelyna was born with Spina Bifida Myelomeningocele which is technically the most severe form of Spina Bifida. This left her paralyzed from the knees down. During her early childhood, she walked with the assistance of reciprocal gate braces. When she was 10 years old, she broke her leg which lead to full-time manual wheelchair use.

While attending catholic primary school, Evelyna had some tough times. Because she was extremely shy and didn't know how to defend herself properly, children often made fun of her and bullied her with her disability.

Despite her shyness and her difficulties with making friends, Evelyna still always tried to stand up for herself. During the 4th grade, she even got in a fight with a classmate because he called her wheelchair a 'stroller'. This incident was the first time she ever got detention. Contrary to what you might expect, her parents weren't even mad at her because of this, because they knew she was bullied and they were glad that she did her best to defend herself. because of actions like this one, Evelyna ensured that the bullying got less and less and eventually even stopped.

In high school, Evelyna wasn't a victim of bullying anymore, but she still had a hard time making friends.

Because Evelyna enjoyed doing creative things and always had a dream of working in the performing arts, she decided to become part of a theatre group. This turned out to be a great decision. Not only did she really like her new hobby, it also helped her getting rid of her shyness and making lots of friends.

After Evelyna graduated from high school, she took a year off of school to be a Corps member for "City Year" in San Jose/Silicon Valley. This is an Americorps program where she tutored children one-on-one in elementary schools and middle schools.

After she completed her year with City Year, she pursued a career path as an actress in the Performing Arts. Unfortunately, this turned out to be practically impossible. At every attempt she undertook to get a role in a play, she was rejected with arguments like a wheelchair-inaccessible stage or that there was no role for a character in a wheelchair.

While still wanting to pursue a career as an actor, Evelyna found voice-acting to be her outlet. Evelyna also attended Foothill Theatre Conservatory in Palo Alto, where she graduated as a Special Effects Makeup Artist.

Eventually, Evelyna moved to Washington State where she worked as a Wig & Makeup Designer(a job she unfortunately lost due to the coronavirus pandemic). In 2014, she was persuaded by a friend of her to applicate for The Ms. Wheelchair Washington pageant later that year. She first had her doubts because she never liked to be portrayed as a 'disabled person'. It didn't take long though before she discovered that the Ms. Wheelchair pageant was of great value for herself and for the disabled community. Because of her radiant appearance during the pageant and because of her impressive life story, Evelyna was crowned Ms. Wheelchair Washington 2014!

As Ms. Wheelchair Washington, Evelyna now had a year long duty to act as a disability advocate and to make lots of public appearances as the main representative for wheelchair users in Washington. Though it was a hectic year, Evelyna can look back at it with great joy.

Evelyna still does some advocacy work now and then and takes on bookings as a voice actor for preferably cartoon characters, TV and radio commercials. If all goes well, she will soon graduate as a certified "Fitness Trainer & Nutrition Coach", for which she is now studying.

Evalyna also has a wide range of sports which she practices. She is a very proficient archer, she loves track and field, she likes boxing and can often be found in the gym. She won several medals and trophies in both archery and track and field! Besides that, she really loves travelling and music.

So I’m about to expose myself as a dumb Amercian who knows nothing about Britain (other than that Jonathan Sims is sexy), but here’s my headcanons for where characters from litg would move to if they lived in the US.

Lottie

I know it’s canon that she moves to New York, but that’s boring. I think she’d end up in San Francisco or LA. There’s more entertainment focused industry there, and I can see her being a makeup artist that works with celebrities and influencers.

Noah

He’s a sensible dude who just wants to find a welcoming community and help others, and I think he’s less invested in living in a city. He’d move to the midwest because the cost of living is low and it’s a safe place to start a family. Anywhere in the midwest would do, but I want him somewhere beautiful so I say western Wisconsin/eastern Minnesota

Gary

He’d need to be in a big city to keep consistent work, but I don’t see him in a MASSIVE city. So he’d end up somewhere like Columbus (Ohio) or Denver (Colorado). He and MC still want a safe and quiet home and a community to contribute to though, so they definitely move to the suburbs.

Priya

Love of my life, the most beautiful girl in the world. She’d move to St. Petersburg, Florida. She loves the heat, the beach scene, it’s close to Tampa (and only a 2 hr drive to Orlando), plus there’s a thriving art scene. She’s absolutely going to meet a dreamy modern artist boy and fall in love. 

Henrik

I shouldn’t even have to say it, but Pacific Northwest FOR SURE. He and MC settle down in Troutdale, Oregon. Henrik can work Broughton Bluff, and they’re basically surrounded by national forests. It’s even close enough to Vancouver and Portland that MC can still have a career. 

Rahim

Obviously he travels a lot for work, but I think when he’s home it’s a condo he rents in Chicago. Jo/MC might have a real apartment that they stay in full time somewhere else, but they always spend time in the condo when Rahim’s home.

Chelsea

I want Chelsea somewhere warm, vibrant, and welcoming. I feel bad that I keep putting everyone in California but that’s what the villa reminds me of and it’s hard to contextualize people who really vibe in the villa going back to normal like in like... Idaho. But I don’t picture Chelsea in a big city, I think she commutes quite a ways to work. So I put her in Walnut Creek, CA. It’s a super cute city with a population of only around 70k and it’s super close to San Francisco, San Jose, and Sacramento. 

Lucas

I actually had to look up where physiotherapists work because I have no idea where Lucas would have to move. Turns out they make the most in Washington state and New York- but I don’t see Lucas there. I think he needs somewhere with a little prestige and a high population of wealthy people, so he’s moving to Massachusetts. I get that New England vibe from him, anyways. He’s going to work with American Football teams because America’s a nightmare and we pay people affiliated with sports triple what we pay normal doctors so uhhhhh.... He and MC would buy a townhouse on the water near the outskirts of a major city. That way they can do the fine arts/galas/entertainment of a bigger city while still being able to own their space.

Bobby

This one was hard because Bobby would genuinely be happy wherever MC wants to be? I don’t think he minds living in the city, but he’d certainly thrive in a smaller community where he could build relationships with everyone and look after people. I think he’d slip into the ‘PTA dad and community support uncle’ role really well. After a lot of searching, he’d thrive in Ocean Springs, Mississippi. The population is only around 20 thousand, it’s known for its food and art culture (which means Bobby’s Boops is a go). It’s also right on the golf coast, which means plenty of swimming and beach days alongside the lowkey small town life.

Marisol

Marisol’s super ambitious, wants to be surrounded by other smart and successful people, and wants to actually make a different in the world. As much as it hurts MC and her’s finances, she works in Washington DC. Obviously they can’t live within the city, so they buy a flat about a 45 minutes commute away (on a good day...). Marisol works for a large firm in the corporate district whilst MC stays closer to home and works in PA. 

Carl

This one’s a no brainer- silicon valley. He and MC are vibing in San Francisco, renting out a gentrified loft apartment.

Hope

Forget Lottie being in New York, Hope is the one who lives and thrives in New York. She loves the corporate culture, all the networking opportunities, being surrounded by business people, and the hustle and bustle of the city.

Summary: Nikki Sixx was a hard partying musician on the strip. He never expected to fall in love with anyone, until a girl knocked on his dressing room door looking for a ride home and took his breath away. Just like everything else Nikki did; the drugs, the money, the music; Nikki went hard with love. (Y/n) Bass never expected the bassist of Motley Crue to be the one to shake her calm and calculated life up. She had a plan. Graduate school, become an epic producer, and watch from behind the scenes as her brother’s band rose to fame. Nikki and (Y/n) were perfect for each other, too bad her brother, Tommy, didn’t think so.

Series warnings:  Smut (18+ Please), drug use, language, referenced miscarriage, drug overdose, mentioned attempted suicide, out of character moments for everyone in the band, the timeline might be a little screwy but it’s fanfiction! I know nothing of music production and my medical knowledge is really screwy, so it won’t be accurate.

She was waiting outside, looking down at her shoes like it was the most interesting. She was about to turn and head back in to check the time. Of course he wouldn’t show up. Why would he?

“Shit.” Nikki grumbled as he pulled up by the sidewalk.  Leaving the car idling, he ran up to her and gently grabbed her hand, making her turn and look at him. “Sorry! I’m so sorry! Tommy borrowed my car to get gas for his bike and then he lost my keys and I was looking for them and by the time I found them, it was after 6 o’clock. I… if you want to cancel I can understand, but please let me make it up to you for being late?” Nikki rambled as he looked down at the ground in shame.

"Oh Nikki, I was scared that you changed your mind." She looked away. "That Tommy sounds like fun."

“Like a snake bite,” Nikki sighed. “I’m really sorry, I understand if you don’t want to see me again,” Nikki breathed. He felt like a failure, he let her down.

"Of course I want to see you silly boy." She smiled at him. "Off we go?" She held her hand out for him.

Nikki gave her a bright smile, “Let’s go sweet girl,” he pulled her in for a sweet deep kiss. “Lets go catch our movie first and then dinner.”

He helped her into the car and drove off towards the movie theater.  The opted to see The E.T the Extra Terrestrial, and Nikki found himself liking the movie and loving (Y/n) snuggling up to him. They were sharing a bag of popcorn and there were few times where their hands reached at the same time. NIkki let her eat most of it. He kissed her head during the movie letting her know he was enjoying her company.  It didn’t take long before he gently pulled her face up and began kissing her deeply. His hand cupped her face before running his fingers rently through her hair.

(Y/n)felt herself pressing up against him and giving a soft sigh. Nikki smirked against her lips at the sounds she made. Kissing her again he felt his heart pound in his chest and the bulge in his pants get bigger.  Shifting slightly to fix himself he broke the kiss and touched his nose against hers.

“I hope Chinese is ok for dinner,” he whispered to her.    

“I love Chinese food.” (Y/n) smiled. “It’s like you can read my mind.”

“What can I say,” Nikki kissed her again. “I know what my girlfriend likes,” he realized his words and blush. “That is if you want to be… mygirlfriend.” he rushed.

“Mr. Sixx, did you just ask me to be your girlfriend?” (Y/n) laughed.

“Yes… unless you think it’s too fast and i’m not good enough… and….” Nikki felt her lips on his, shutting him up.

“I would love to be your girlfriend Nikki Sixx.” She smiled at him.

As soon as the movie was over they made their way to the Chinese restaurant. Once at a booth Nikki relaxed and smiled.

“So, you have siblings, and they sound kind of… I don’t know, mean?” Nikki shrugged. “I don’t know how anyone who cannot appreciate that brain of yours.”

“My siblings are kinda idiots,” (Y/n) laughed. “My sister is smarter than my brother. Nessa likes to say that mom and dad were saving all the brains for me.” She sighed. “I just wish I was as cool as them.”

“You are cool,” Nikki argued. “I mean hey, you listen to us and Aerosmith, and I’m sure you listen to other artists I haven’t mentioned that are pretty cool.” NIkki reached for her hand as he shoveled a spoonful of fried rice into his mouth.

“The Beatles are my favorite band,” She shrugged. “My brother teases me, but I cried so hard when John Lennon died.”

“You and me both sweet girl,” Nikki said and smiled at her. “Your brother sounds like he doesn’t know good music even if it hits him in the ass.”

“Oh, I’m telling him that.” She laughed. “He’d probably go pout and blair his old Led Zeppelin records.”

Nikki laughed but forgot he was eating and almost choked on his food. Taking a sip of water and cleared his throat, “Your brother is lame to make fun of you but listen to Zep!”

“Right?” She took a sip of her drink. “I can appreciate all kinds of different music. Just not classical. Not too big on it.” She smiled at him. “Besides yourself, what’s your favorite band?”

“Well, Zeppelin is one, then you got Queen, Leapard, Ramones, Kiss.” Nikki smiled.

“God, I would love to go see Queen.” (Y/n) said. “Freddie Mercury has better eyelashes and makeup than I do though.” She laughed. “But, I think your makeup is pretty good too.”

NIkki chuckled, “Maybe I can score us some tickets when they come by.” (Y/n) smiled at him.

“Do you have a gig tomorrow night?” (Y/n) asked. “My brother wants to hang out and...I just wanna make sure I don’t miss anything.”

“Yeah, we’re playing at Whiskey tomorrow,” Nikki said. “Best part is we live right down the street from it,” he put money on the table for their food. They got up and headed out.

“That’s convenient.�� (Y/n) laughed. “Bet it’s party central there.”

“Sometimes,” Nikki shrugs, “But the parties are boring without you.”

“I never was one for big parties. My brother and sister used to make me hang out in my room when they threw house parties, or they sent me off to Nessa’s. Think that’s when I started falling in love with muric.” She shrugged.

“Well, I think you would be a party animal,” Nikki said as he pulled her close as he walked with her along the street. “I want to kiss you so bad right now.”

“Who’s saying you can’t?” (Y/n) asked with a smile. “Might be the last time you get to before your bandmates interrupt us.”

“I got the best spot for us,” he smiled. “Come on”

“Where are we going?” (Y/n) asked as Nikki led her down the street. Nikki led her to his car and drove her to the Hollywood sign.

“I figured we can get a nice view,” he said as he parked the car and helped her out. Lifting her by her waist he sat her on the hood and sat by her. “What do you think?”

“It’s beautiful.” She said, looking out of Los Angeles. “I’ve done day hikes up here, but never night. It’s gorgeous.”

NIkki was looking at her, “Yeah it is.” he smiled.

“Have you ever wanted to leave California?” (Y/n) asked him, staring down at the lights.

“I was born in San Jose, Mom moved around alot had a lot of shitty step-dads when my dad split.”  he sighed and looked at the scenery. “My childhood wasn’t a happy one.” She reached out and held his hand.

“I know my siblings were mean to me, but I can only imagine what you went through.” She leaned against him. “I hope that I can make you happy now though.”

“You already are making me happy sweet girl,” he whispered as he pulled her in for a kiss. One hand cupped her face, the other wrapped around her waist. “I feel like i’m falling real hard and fast for you (Y/n) I can’t explain it.”

“I think I might be falling for you too.” (Y/n) admitted, leaning in to kiss him again.

Nikki let his hands roam her body as his fingers found their way under her shirt. His lips moved from her mouth to her jaw, to her ear, and then down her neck. (Y/n) moaned softly, but slowly pushed him back.

“Nikki, I really like you, I do...but...I never...you know…” She looked down, ashamed.

“You mean you’re a...oh… OH!” Nikki caressed her cheek and moved her face so he could gaze into her eyes. “That just means I would need to plan a date in a more comfortable spot away from the guys.”  Nikki rasped. “That is if you still want to be with me… I won’t pressure you… I mean it’s your choice.”

‘I want to,” She told him. “Maybe a couple more dates?” She asked, afraid he’d be upset.

“Sounds like a plan,” he smiled as he brought her in for a kiss. “How about I take you home?”

“Sounds great.” She smiled and slid off the hood with him. “Thank you for tonight.”

“Anything for my girl,” he said helping her into the car and driving her home holding her hand the whole way. He pulled up at the dorm.

“Thank you Nikki.” She smiled at him. “I had a great time. And I’ll be at the concert tomorrow night, barring inconvenience. I don’t have any classes tomorrow after my 8 am.”

“Maybe I can sneak away for a few to come make out with you?” Nikki wiggled his eyebrows as he parked next to the sidewalk to her dorm. Leaning over he pulled her in for another kiss. “Sorry, I just can’t help myself.”

“I think I’d love that.” She kissed him again. “I can’t get enough of that.”

“Ok, I’ll see what I can do just tell me where you’ll be at and I can meet you.” Nikki smiled kissing her again.

“Okay.” She kissed him one more time. “I probably should get in. Thank you for everything again Mr. Sixx.”

“Ok, sweet girl.” he whispered before kissing her again. “I’ll call you when I get to my apartment just to make sure you’re ok.” he whispered.

“I might be asleep, so please don’t be upset if I don’t answer.” (Y/n) told him. “Goodnight Nikki.” She kissed his cheek and headed towards the door, where Vanessa was waiting.

Nikki drove off towards his home as Vanessa ushered Y/N to her dorm. “So...how was it?”

“Amazing.” (Y/n) said dreamily. “I really like him Nessa. Would you want to go see Motley Crue tomorrow night? Athena might want to go too.”

“Does that mean I get to meet the infamous Vince Neil?” she said. “Rumor has it he’s really good in bed.”

“Sure, we’ll set you up.” (Y/n) laughed. “Let’s go get some sleep. I’ve got an 8 am.” They headed to Vanessa’s room. She had a double room, but no room mate. “I need to tell him I don’t really live here.”

“Do it sooner rather than later,” she sang. “So how should I dress tomorrow?”

“Jeans and I’ll let you borrow one of my band tees.” (Y/n) told her. “You’ll knock him dead.”

“That sounds like a plan,” Vanessa sighed as she gave (Y/n) some PJ's to sleep in. “So… are you and Nikki going to…. have a deflowering ceremony?” she batted her eyes at (Y/n).

“Oh my god.” (Y/n) groaned. “We talked about it. I think he wanted to tonight and I told him I’d never...and he seemed okay with waiting.” She sighed. “He’ll probably just find another girl on the side, right?”

“I wouldn’t hold my breath,” Vanessa smiled. “He seems happy with you.”

JULY 2019 DIMENSIONS ENTERTAINMENT SCHEDULES & REVIEW

Overall Company

Each artist under the company will hold their own fan sign this month for Dimensions’ summer photo book to help raise company profits. Overall, this is a mixed bag of a month for the company, but they’re going strong and netizens aren’t debating the company’s right to be considered in the top three as much lately.

Dimensions Soloist 1

Her North American tour finished successfully by the second week of the month and then she returns to South Korea to do her photo book fan sign. Upon her return, she’ll also begin testing out potential tracks for her next comeback which Dimensions wants to get in before the end of the year. The plan is currently for her next comeback to be another album so b-sides will be in consideration too. She’ll also be making an appearance on a special soloists-only episode of Weekly Idol with two of Gold Star’s soloists.

Dimensions has internally confirmed his first solo concert for this fall, so he begins early meetings for that where they’ll discuss the eventual set list and concert concept. Dimensions plans to go with something more intimate and low key to match his down to earth image. The entire process of his first solo concert coming to life will be documented in videos to be uploaded online eventually for the fans. As additional content for the videos, this month, he’s encouraged to film himself talking to his company seniors about what to do to prepare for a first concert.

Gal.actic

It’s comeback month! That means final preparations for the first half of the month before they comeback and then it’s on to promotions. The title track is still classically Gal.actic sexy, but doesn’t have the gimmicky sexuality of their last couple of title tracks in a grab for more general public attention to make up for the male fans they lost with the “Be Ambitious” controversy. The song not charting as well digitally and only selling slightly better physically than their last comeback proves Dimensions’ strategy either worked or didn’t depending on how you look at it. They will get a blaze of attention when they’re picked as the first (and only) idols to do a new segment on Show Champion based on reading mean comments that receives a lot of backlash toward Dimensions and Show Champion and a lot of pity for the girls. It might not have been the way to get back Gal.actic into good favor Dimensions wanted, but it’s one way.

The members finish recording for their next album this month, and that includes recording the English version of Play it Cool which will be released in September following their comeback. They’ll also learn the comeback choreography this month and shoot the photo jacket for the album. Save for their photo book fan sign, most of their schedule is behind the scenes this month before they go into full steam with promotions and touring the rest of the year.

MARS

MARS is the first of three Dimensions’ comebacks this month and the focus for this comeback is more fandom-based than general public-based. As Alien and Unity branch out into the American market, MARS is Dimensions’ boy group that stays firmly situated in the Korean and Japanese markets, so the fan focus is directed at domestic fans with a number of fan signs and a Weekly Idol appearance. On top of that, the members will film a fan service series of one on one interviews where they speak informally dressed in vaguely school uniform reminiscent clothes as a fan reward for reaching a certain number of MV views. Members are also encouraged to be active on social media and do (supervised) live streams throughout the promotion period,

More opportunities are coming 7ROPHY’s way. Not only are they performing at KCON NY, but they’ve also been chosen as the new faces of global Sephora x Memebox K-beauty brand Kaja. After learning the choreography for title track “Senorita” and b-side “Blow Your Mind” early in the month, the members will take off on a trip to San Francisco to film a short online reality show sponsored by Kaja Beauty and M2. While they’re there, they’ll try on Kaja makeup, explore the city, cook in the apartment they’re staying in, and make a member-filmed music video for the b-side “Blow Your Mind” on their new mini-album. After that, they’ll return to Seoul to film their title track MV and do final preparations for their comeback next month.

The North American tour wraps up this month with more miscellaneous radio and online promotional activities. Their biggest non-tour schedule during their time in North America is an experience on The Late Late Show with James Corden where they’ll once again perform their comeback track and play a game of Flinch. After their final concert in Vancouver, they’ll hop on a late night flight back to Seoul. As soon as they arrive in Seoul, they’ll be taken to a late night shooting for their comeback music video which will go through the morning of the next day. There’s a big time crunch to get everything done in time for the day of the comeback on the 26th, so their week and a half back in Seoul before comeback with be nothing but work. Because of the time crunch, the release date of their Japanese album has been delayed a few weeks to September, but they’re still doing final studio recordings and album jacket shootings for it this month.

Music show promotions end early in the month, but Dimensions has extended other promotions past that to include three fan signs and a radio show guesting. What is only meant to be a run of the mill festival performance on the 21st is what turns into the group’s most notable schedule this month, though, when a downpour prior to their performance makes the stage wet and leads to dangerous performance conditions (admin note: it’s plausible a couple of members may sustain an injury due to falling, but nothing that would affect their ability to continue regular schedules next month). In the days following, a fan cam of them performing “Me Gustas Tu” in the conditions will go viral and earn them praise for their professionalism, sending their song back up the charts and bringing in a flood of love calls for the group as the month ends.

Local Artists Showcase Works at Assemblage: Art Festival in Robinsons Galleria Cebu

Cebu is home to many artists whose works have been acclaimed locally and even internationally.

It does not come as a surprise that more aspiring artists emerge in the local scene to showcase their talents in the arts – from filmmaking, fashion design, painting, and many others.

Armed with the awareness of Cebu’s treasure trove of local artists, Robinsons Galleria Cebu (RGC) has organized its first ever Assemblage: Art Festival where artists both amateur and veterans can display their talents for the Cebuano community to appreciate.

Assemblage: Art Festival consists of several activities that have been lined up for the whole month of February, which is also the celebration of the National Arts Month.

“Robinsons Galleria Cebu has been very supportive of local artists and local talents. We had several events in the mall and have been a partner of numerous organizations, schools, community, civic groups that allow them to showcase their talents in the visual arts, music, dance, fashion and so much more,” said May Adolfo, Senior Regional Operations Manager for Cebu and Eastern Visayas of Robinsons Land Corp. (RLC).

“We always support and have the heart for artists,” she added.

Assemblage was launched last February 17 with the opening of an Art Gallery at the Level 1 of Robinsons Galleria Cebu. It is open to the public until February 29.

Robinsons Galleria Cebu partnered with Stylefirm and DraftGroupe in organizing Assemblage.

On February 24, several exciting activities have been scheduled and dubbed as Art + Fashion Revolution.

These activities include the Draft Academy Painting Competition, the Art of Film by the Film & Media Arts International Academy, Wearable Art Design Competition, Alazas x Virtucio Fashion Show, and a performance by Route 83.

The celebration continues on February 28 and 29 for Maquillage Masters wherein makeup artists can anticipate an event on makeup artistry with renowned makeup artist Romero Vergara.

Local artists and designers that are part of Assemblage include AJ Tabino, Ashton Samson, Anne Ruiz, Archie Goc-ong, Casmir Tayag, Cherry Gonzales, Cleanne Padilla, Densen Almeda, Dominic Tampos, Edgardo Palad, Francis Sollano, Gerald Salazar, Gerlynnia Galgo, Govinda Jean, Hady Sabbagh, Hannah Lee, Janot, and Josephus Bartin.
