Travelling is a magical way to create socially and economically unbreakable bonds. Jambojet, Kenya’s regional low-cost airline, is one of the magic that people have used to fly around within and without Kenya, marveling at the deliverables of nature that…

She went to the Emboo River Camp in Kenya. Showcasing the amazing Maasai women in this month’s edition of her newsletter #LoveOurGirl.

I love Danai's continued advocacy for the empowerment and betterment of women. She’s a beautiful, hardworking, compassionate, socially & environmentally conscious human being. Love her so much, she’s my role model 💗💖❤️‍🔥.

Sometimes, we allow fear to stop us. Did you know I am afraid of heights?
Tumblr media
In Kenya last year (2021) I had an opportunity. If I could manage my fear, I could watch the sunrise over Maasai Mara National Reserve from a hot air balloon (I will admit, there was some bribery involving Champagne).

I am learning that when I choose to be brave, it gets easier.

And there are rewards……

Monkey See
Tumblr media
As far as I know, monkeys (or baboons) don’t care what anyone else thinks. In the wild, they don’t have issues with depression. They live in extended family groups and like most of our families, they bicker, fuss and sometimes fight. They also look out for each other.
They don’t care who or what you worship, even if you worship at all. They have their own kind of politics, their leaders tend to be the biggest, meanest etc. nut at least they are not chosen in a popularity contest.
I am not a monkey expert, (probably why I keep calling these baboons monkeys, I’m sure that’s probably not right..) but after watching these monkeys for a while, I kind of envy them (please note, I said kind of, I am fond of my comforts).
If monkeys made their own religion, I think it would have lots of awe, and not many rules. Who knows, maybe they do.
