1st pic with my new iPhone taken more than 24hours after getting it. My new phone experience has mostly been bad. My main motivation for getting an iPhone was wanting a great phone camera and engaging the family hive mind aspect shared by the Apple family. My wife and two of my kids use them. However, at this point, if I could do it over, I’d simply get a high end Samsung.
The good: This pic is a masterpiece compared to what my old phone would produce and being able to track each other and each other’s devices is great. Many of the apps on my android phone ported over and all of those work fine. All the apps I had to manually download work fine as well. The phone’s battery is outstanding so far.
The bad: The cellular modem in our new phones suck!!! Even the WiFi modem is shit compared to my old Samsung A50 and her iPhone 12. I’m probably going to have to upgrade our home WiFi network but that still leaves me no fix for traveling in rural areas with weak cellular coverage. My A50 was a marvel at pulling in a signal. I have 1 bar sitting here at my house! Cellular signal was never a problem here before. I was excited to take advantage of Apple’s MagSafe technology that allows wireless charging combined with magnets that affix your phone to the charger. The idea is brilliant, the implementation is flawed for too many reasons to go into. Also, I’ll never buy a phone at Best Buy again.
Still, this pic was taken in fading light with no physical stabilization and the barn is 4 tenths of a mile away. Just wow.

Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max, 256GB, Natural Titanium - Unlocked (Renewed): A Comprehensive Review
Design and Build Quality
One of the standout features of the iPhone 15 Pro Max is its design. The Natural Titanium finish gives the device a premium, sophisticated look, while also enhancing its durability. Titanium, known for its strength and lightweight properties, makes the phone both resilient and easy to handle. The sleek, minimalist design is characteristic of Apple’s design philosophy, combining aesthetics with practical usability. The Pro Max variant, with its larger size, ensures a more immersive experience, whether you’re browsing, gaming, or watching videos.
Display
The iPhone 15 Pro Max boasts a 6.7-inch Super Retina XDR display, which is one of the best in the industry. The OLED panel delivers vibrant colors, deep blacks, and an impressive contrast ratio, ensuring that every image and video looks stunning. The display supports HDR10 and Dolby Vision, making it ideal for streaming high-definition content. With a resolution of 2778 x 1284 pixels, the clarity and sharpness of the screen are unparalleled. Additionally, the ProMotion technology with a 120Hz refresh rate ensures smooth scrolling and responsiveness, enhancing the overall user experience.
Performance
Under the hood, the iPhone 15 Pro Max is powered by the A17 Bionic chip, Apple’s most advanced processor to date. The A17 Bionic is built on a 3nm process, which not only makes it more efficient but also significantly faster than its predecessors. This chip features a 6-core CPU, a 5-core GPU, and a 16-core Neural Engine, delivering exceptional performance across all tasks. Whether you are multitasking, gaming, or using demanding applications, the iPhone 15 Pro Max handles everything with ease. The enhanced machine learning capabilities also improve the efficiency and functionality of various apps, from photography to augmented reality.
Camera System
The camera system on the iPhone 15 Pro Max is another major highlight. It features a triple-camera setup, including a 48MP main sensor, a 12MP ultra-wide sensor, and a 12MP telephoto sensor. This combination allows for a versatile photography experience, catering to different shooting scenarios. The main sensor with a larger aperture captures more light, resulting in better low-light performance and sharper images. The ultra-wide sensor is perfect for capturing expansive landscapes, while the telephoto sensor with 3x optical zoom allows for detailed close-up shots.
The Pro Max also supports advanced computational photography features such as Smart HDR 4, Deep Fusion, and Night mode, ensuring that every shot is perfectly balanced in terms of color, contrast, and detail. The ProRAW and ProRes video recording capabilities provide professional-level control and quality, making it a favorite among content creators and filmmakers.
Battery Life and Charging
Battery life is a crucial aspect for any smartphone, and the iPhone 15 Pro Max does not disappoint. With its larger battery capacity and efficient A17 Bionic chip, it offers extended usage times, ensuring that you can go through a full day of heavy use without needing to recharge. When it does come time to recharge, the iPhone 15 Pro Max supports fast charging, capable of reaching up to 50% charge in just 30 minutes with a compatible charger. Additionally, it supports MagSafe and Qi wireless charging, providing convenient options for powering up.
Storage and Connectivity
The 256GB storage variant of the iPhone 15 Pro Max offers ample space for all your needs, from apps and games to photos and videos. This capacity strikes a balance between affordability and functionality, ensuring that you have enough room without overpaying for storage you might not use. As an unlocked device, the iPhone 15 Pro Max provides the flexibility to choose your carrier and switch networks as needed, making it a versatile option for travelers and those who prefer not to be tied to a single provider.
In terms of connectivity, the iPhone 15 Pro Max supports 5G, ensuring lightning-fast internet speeds and a seamless online experience. It also includes Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, and Ultra-Wideband (UWB) technology, which enhance connectivity and compatibility with a range of devices and accessories.

I Love My Little Charging Bundle
I recently wrote about not needing USB-A, and mentioned the _USB-C Lifestyle_™️. That reminded me of a little bundle of cables I always keep in my backpack. So here are some …
Advice for frustration-free charging
When I talk about "chargers", I generally refer to the brick itself – not including the cable.
1) Buy extra
Here’s my bundle:
Tumblr media
The trick is that I don’t need any of these elsewhere – they are extra. I have other chargers in my office, next to my bed, etc. I get that this is a bit more wasteful than just having one charger that you move around everywhere. But I think this is resource spending that’s worth it – and hopefully the devices you buy don’t come with (sub-par) chargers you don’t need. Furthermore, try to keep chargers for a long time.
2) Think about colour and texture of the cables
These are the cables in the bundle:
USB-C, 3 meters (black, braided)
MagSafe for Mac (light gray, braided)
Lightning, 1 meter (white)
Micro-USB (black)
As you can see, all of them have a different combination of colour and texture. This makes it easier to pick out the correct one!
3) Don’t buy “original” chargers
In general, buying “original” accessories will give you something that might be pricier, but at least is among the best. But when it comes to chargers, and especially compared to Apple, the third-party chargers are objectively better. The reason being that Apple doesn’t use GaN, a relatively new technology that allows for significantly smaller size to power ratio.
Mine’s a 65 watt Anker charger 🖇️, that I really like. Because while I don’t necessarily recommend getting chargers from Apple/Samsung/etc., I do recommend getting a “name-brand” one. Anker is a brand I’ve always been pleased with, so I haven’t tried many others. But I think Ugreen and Belkin might be decent as well. Would love to hear about it if you have other recommendations I can add here!
4) Get enough wattage, but not more
The number you want to look at when buying chargers, is the wattage. Here’s an overview:
5 watts: The old, little iPhone chargers. Not worth using.
20 watts: Great for phones, adequate for tablets. Will charge most laptops, but a bit slowly.
30 watts: Good for tablets, adequate for laptops.
65 watts: Around the max for devices like the MacBook Air. More than fast enough for my MacBook Pro as well.
100 watts: Great for fast charging of more demanding laptops.
There’s no issue with using a more powerful charger than necessary – you can safely plug your phone in a 100-watt charger. But they become larger, and more expensive, as they increase in size – so that’s why I recommend getting enough, but not more.
In general, I use 30 watts for chargers I have “here and there” – and I carry 65 watts in my backpack. I’ve never needed more.
5) Consider having fewer(!) ports
I get the urge of buying chargers with more than one port –** and occasionally that’s absolutely a great option**.
Tumblr media
The charger above is in my kitchen, with a MagSafe puck 🖇️ and USB-C cable always connected. It provides 47 watts – but that’s, obviously, shared between the ports. It tries to doll out the power to where it’s needed – but it doesn’t always work flawlessly. So sometimes I have to unplug the MagSafe puck to get more juice for the USB-C cable (even though I don’t have any devices on the puck).
But for the times when you “always” need two outputs, I’d still go for one of these. But the reason I went for the one-port-version for my backpack, is that I really like the simplicity and reliability of always knowing what you’re getting. When I want to charge several things at once, I can usually charge through another device. For instance, I’ll charge my phone via my iPad or MacBook, or iPad via the MacBook.
Bonus recommendation: 3-in-1 charger(s)
If you have a smartwatch, like my wife, you might want something other than just loose cables for your travels. So I bought this for her one Christmas:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I swapped out the charger it came with, to one from Anker, that was smaller while providing the same wattage. Then I placed the one I got with it somewhere in the house where size doesn't matter. I also swapped the cable for a longer one. This experience is a good example of why I, in general, prefer it when charger/cables are not included. Because then you can, instead, buy better ones/the type you need. However, I don't mind there being a bundle available that includes these things.
This is the Mophie 3-in-1 charger. There are many variants of 3-in-1 chargers, but the 2023 version of the Mophie charger has two important details:
The MagSafe/Qi 2 pad in the middle charges the full 15 watts,
and the Apple Watch can fast charge.
The latter is not true of the previous versions of the Mophie charger.
Tumblr media
You can recognise the previous version, which I don't recommend getting, on the travel case. It doesn't have a zip, but instead has this button and rubber band.
So, when researching these chargers, always check the charging speed of the different parts! However, if you always charge over-night, you might not need the fastest charging – and something like form-factor might weigh more. I’m just saying it’s good to be aware. Also, keep in mind how powerful the power brick needs to be.1
So, my summation is:
Buy extra. Don’t just move around one charger. (My wife only uses the Mophie above while traveling.)
Think about colour and texture of the cables, to make the different types easy to pick out.
Don’t buy “original” chargers. Instead, buy name-brand GaN chargers, from brands like Anker.
Get enough wattage, but not more. 20 watts for phones and tablets, 30 watts for phones, tablets and consumer laptops, and 65 watts for everything mentioned above, but also pro laptops. 100 watts is more niche.
Consider getting fewer ports, as this is simpler and more reliable.
Check charging speed, especially when buying chargers that can charge several devices at once.
For the Mophie, it’s at least 30 watt. ↩︎

MagSafe vs Regular: Which Phone Case Do I Need for My S23 Ultra?
The Galaxy S23 Ultra is one of Samsung’s marvels. If you are carrying it; then you will need a good reason to buy a good accessory for it. This time, consider getting one of the premium phone cases for Samsung. Although the word ‘premium’ might intimidate a few buyers, these cases are really cheap if you know where to look.
Finding a good online provider for Samsung cases; you might be confused if you need the transparent case to showcase your phone or the MagSafe case to get advanced portability. Reading this post; you might get to solve this confusion and determine which one you’ll spend money for.
Let’s Define the MagSafe and the Regular Case for Your Galaxy S23
Speaking of MagSafe cases, we already know that they are a newcomer in the industry. And the sad truth is not all phones have MagSafe charging facilities available.
Your Galaxy S23 won’t disappoint you at this point though. MagSafe chargers for the Galaxy S23 are available in various shades and designs. In fact, if you find a good provider for a mobile back cover for your Samsung Phone, then the variety it has with MagSafe cases may surprise iPhone MagSafe users.
But we better start learning about the MagSafe cover and its contenders.
You see MagSafe covers are made according to the MagSafe charging facility you get with selected phones such as the S23 Ultra. It is a form of wireless charging, which amplifies portability and productivity on the go. With the MagSafe Case, you can get wireless charging without having to take the phone case off your phone.
However, a more ‘regular’ or general phone case can be any premium mobile back cover. Manufacturers make these covers according to your phone's design and material features so that all-around protection is not compromised.
Don’t get it wrong. MagSafe covers do not compromise on safety either. However, they have a different use case. This matter goes the same with a regular phone cover too.
So, When Do You Need a MagSafe Cover?
You may get yourself a MagSafe cover when you have a strong need for charging your phones on the go. We need to learn more about this.
You see MagSafe covers are a little expensive for the price they come with (it’s justified for the facility you get with them). For the MagSafe charging facility; you can take your wireless MagSafe charger and travel quite a lot.
MagSafe chargers are made keeping in mind the convenience they can offer their users. You will need a MagSafe charger when you are travelling a lot; when you don’t want to keep a cluttered mess of charging cables with you or you want to enhance your phone’s productivity.
People who are content creators or gamers might need the USB-C port of the phone for a variety of reasons. MagSafe phone cases for SamsungS23 ultra leave that port available to them.
Limitations? With every facility, there comes something that asks you to compromise. The wireless charging MagSafe cases won’t ask much from you though. It is that MagSafe wireless charging can be slower than regular charging (using a data cable). Although that’s something you might frown on, that is not technically a downside, don’t you think?
Traditional Phone Cases: What’s the Point with Them?
Coming back to the department of traditional phone cases; we might say the diversity in the S23 mobile cases can surprise you again.
Innovation never stops. That’s what its nature is. In a premium mobile back coverfor the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, innovation made its way through both traditional and out-of-the-box design options.
Now if you are looking forward to revealing Samsung’s design ideas without compromising on protection, then you can go for a simple; transparent back cover. These covers – from a reputed manufacturer – come with non-yellowing properties and ultra-grippy texture to help your phone be 99% resistant to slips or just falling off your hand.
Whether it is the cream or the limited lime hue of the Samsung S23 Ultra; your transparent back cover can portray all the beauty of the device you own.
Now, if you want to go for a pretty much traditional cover, then you might get them easily in a variety of materials and textures. The next point can help you with that.
To Conclude: Where to Buy These Fantastic Covers?
Instead of browsing through countless premium phone cover manufacturers, choose Bharatcase. You can choose from its range of products; which are all made with personalized dedication.
For a MagSafe case, you might want to choose a futuristic back cover with designs of circuitry. It took inspiration from the Nothing Phone. However, the cover does look great.
If you are looking for a plain phone cover, choose the leather-made premium mobile back cover for Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra. Leather covers can give you additional grips too.
Pick a good one designed by Bharatcase and the likes. You can also check out other products of them such as iPhone cases and more.

iPhone 15 Pro Max – Get the latest iPhone every year !
Tumblr media
iPhone 15 Pro Max Review : Story
A few weeks ago, I expressed my indifference towards the iPhone 15 series, stating my intention to stick with my iPhone 14 Pro for another year. However, after the official unveiling of the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro, I have had a change of heart. I have decided to let go of my current iDevice in favor of the iPhone 15 Pro Max. Allow me to explain my reasons.
First and foremost, the optical and digital zoom capabilities on the iPhone 14 Pro are subpar. As an individual constantly on the move, exploring new locations and capturing photos, I find this limitation to be quite frustrating. Every time my friends with Pixel and Galaxy phones flaunt their superior zoom capabilities, I feel like I am missing out on a proper camera system. Considering that the iPhone 14 Pro previously boasted the most advanced mobile camera system from Apple, I find its zoom and low-light performance to be lacking.
Now that the iPhone 15 Pro Max has been officially announced, we no longer have to rely on rumors and leaks. My colleague Ben has had the opportunity to test the device, and its camera performance appears to be much more promising than its predecessor. With this newfound clarity, I am more tempted than ever to upgrade to a superior iPhone camera.
In terms of design, the iPhone 15 Pro Max offers a titanium frame with rounded edges. I recently started using my iPhone 14 Pro without a case, as I have never dropped a smartphone in my life. While I find the case-less feel to be more comfortable, the stainless steel frame quickly becomes a magnet for fingerprints, diminishing the phone’s premium appearance. The titanium frame of the iPhone 15 Pro Max, on the other hand, is more resistant to fingerprints. Although smudges may still be visible on the highest-end 2023 iPhones, they are less conspicuous than those on stainless steel. Additionally, the rounded frame enhances the comfort of holding the device.
Another notable design change is the introduction of the all-new Action button, which replaces the classic mute switch. Personally, I rarely toggle the switch as I usually leave my iPhone muted or unmuted for extended periods of time. Consequently, I believe it would be more practical to repurpose the Action button as a camera launcher for quickly capturing time-sensitive shots while on the move.
The adoption of the USB-C port is another noteworthy feature of the iPhone 15 Pro Max. As I have mentioned in previous articles, I rely exclusively on MagSafe charging and wireless data transfer methods. However, when traveling with a backpack, I still carry a Lightning charger due to the lack of portability of my MagSafe charging stand. Moreover, there are instances when I am compelled to resort to wired charging when I am in a hurry to leave the house and need to quickly charge my dwindling battery. The transition to USB-C eliminates the need for a dedicated cable, as I already utilize a USB-C charger for my iPad and Nintendo Switch.
The iPhone 15 Pro Max intrigues me with its larger display, surpassing 6.1 inches. As someone who has always favored smaller to medium-sized smartphones, this represents a departure from my norm. However, with advancements in technology and the growing popularity of video content on online platforms, I am inclined to explore the benefits of a larger display for long-term use. Additionally, the device offers an extended battery life, which is undoubtedly a welcome advantage. Like many others, I have felt compelled by Apple to opt for the larger Pro variant due to its exclusive tetraprism lens. Although I am not particularly fond of this Pro division, I am willing to adapt and become accustomed to the wider and heavier model.
Considering the resale value of my iPhone 14 Pro, which is still in excellent condition, upgrading to the iPhone 15 Pro Max appears to be a reasonably affordable option. Apple products are known for their lasting value when compared to those of other brands, which makes it easier for me to justify the purchase. By paying a modest fee, I would have access to the latest and best iPhone model available.
Despite my decision to upgrade to the iPhone 15 Pro Max, I am still eagerly anticipating the iPhone 16 series. Rumor has it that the tetra prism lens will be introduced to the smaller Pro variant next year. If I find the size of the iPhone 15 Pro Max challenging to handle, I may opt for the 6.1-inch model next year. It is also worth noting that Apple may replace physical buttons with solid-state ones in their upcoming release. Undoubtedly, the Cupertino firm has more exciting changes planned, some of which may leak in the months to come.
