MCM Birmingham Comic Con tomorrow aaaaaa

I'm cosplaying as Madoka Kaname one last time because I bought her official cosplay shoes for an absolute steal just before covid hit and then I never even got to wear them to a con. So even though I've decided to give up cosplaying, never wearing them to a convention ever would be Criminal

Well I mean, I say I've given up cosplaying, but really I mean that I've given up complex cosplays. I wouldn't mind something easy or casual, but for costumes like Madoka's that are actually Not Fun to wear for the day (the underskirt is so heavy and the wig is also heavy with the pigtails) - I'm not doing it anymore lmao

I'm over suffering for the craft at this point, I can't wait to go to a con and be Comfy As Hell while I walk around

Combining the last three days into one post lol Magical Girl May 2021! Day 17: Your Favorite Modern Magical Girl Series Puella Magi Madoka Magica! It's what got me back into the genre because it was such a great twist on the formula. The gorgeous visuals and wonderful cast is a pleasure too. For how dark it is, I think there's still some fun in it. I'm watching Magia Record right now and it's so far nice. Day 20: Your Favorite Magical Girl Outfit A tough one. Very. The eternal sailor scouts (Sailor Moon), Ultimate Madoka/Akuma Homura (Madoka Magica), and the iconic pink dress from the first Card Captor Sakura opening are so gorgeous. For a standard look, I'm actually going to say Homura Akemi's magical girl outfit. It's quite cute, versatile because of Homura's appearance changes (Braids w/ glasses and hair down no glasses), not over the top and very practical. I could fight in it probably, haha. If I had to go with a powered up one, eternal sailor scouts for being pretty diverse, more practical but still really pretty. Day 23: Your Favorite Pretty Cure Character Confession: I have seen a lot of beautiful and adorable cosplays, and some memes from this series but have yet to sit down and actaully watch it. At most, I think I saw it on 4Kids as a kid...that's all. I've seen a lot of Hanadera Nodoka and thought she was lovely; being voiced by Madoka Kaname is a plus! I don't see any wrong answer to this at all though. On this pic, another Kyoko selfie for this! CPAC 2015. At some point inyour life, MCM Comic Con had become like a tradition. You and Promptowent every year, typically in matching Jfashion coords or in pairedcosplay.

You’d cosplayedKagamine Rin and Len, Rapunzel and Flynn Ryder, Ichigo and Rukia,Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask, Mello and Near, and even as Kiki andLala.

This year,however, you’d opted for something a little different. You’dpicked out each other’s cosplay and set yourselves a challenge.You’d have to remain in character for the entirety of the con.

You’d just gotdone with your makeup, and were now pulling your pink wig into place,brushing the fringe gently with your fingers. You twirled in themirror, admiring your seamstress skills. You’d worked your butt offsewing this dress, and you were damn proud of yourself!

Prompto haddecided that this year, you’d be attending the con as KanameMadoka. Which was absolutely fine by you. He’d left it up to youwhether you’d go as Regular Madoka or Goddess Madoka. You choseRegular Madoka, since you found her a little cuter and the wig wouldbe infinitely less annoying.

“Babe, youready?” Prompto called, wandering into your shared bedroom.

You had such ahard time picking out a cosplay for Prompto. Initially, you wantedhim to be 9S, then Castiel, and then, briefly, Howl. Finally, yousettled on a cosplay you were super excited about. Apollo Justice!

And he lookedamazing in that red suit,Apollo’s bracelet tight onhis wrist.

“Wow,”you smiled, wrapping you arms around his waist. “You look great,Polly.”

Promptoreturned the hug, squeezing you close to him. “You look evenbetter, Maddy.” he said. He let go of you, grabbing hold of yourhand and spinning you around. “Look at you!”

Yougiggled as you danced out of his reach. “Maddy?”

“Yeah,if you can turn ‘Apollo’ into ‘Polly’ why can’t I turn‘Madoka’ into ‘Maddy’?”

Yousighed, crossing your arms. “Polly is what Trucy calls him in thegames, remember?” you stated with a tut.

Youcould tell that Prompto wasn’t listening, he was to busy admiringyou. Just everything about you. The small details on your dress,those cute little socks, the way the pink of the wig and circlelenses suited you just right. “Wait here.” he said, beforedisappearing into the living room.

Naturally,you knew what to expect when he returned. It was Prompto.You picked up the bow you’dspent hours making, quickly inspecting it for flaws or inaccuracies.

“Okay,babe,” Prompto walked back in, fiddling with his camera. “Strikea pretty pose.”

Fartoo used to this by now, you shiftedyour weight to one hip, lifting yourself onto your tiptoes and posingwith your bow raised. You definitely heard that shutter more thanonce, but you weren’t about to complain.

“Okay,c’mon, we’re gonna be late.” you said, dropping your posture.You grabbed your bag off the floor and headed towards the door,Prompto following closely behind, bumping into you as you stopped. “Ihope you don’t think you’re taking that.” you pointed at thecamera in his hands.

Prompto’ssmile dropped. “What?”

Yousmiled, shrugging your shoulders. “Apollo doesn’t take pictures.”you shook your head and carried on.

“Youhave got to be kiddingme?” he called after you. “Come on,honey, it’s me!”

Anime North 2017 Plans!

Yet again Anime North is almost here. I’m not going overboard with costume plans because I’m getting older and it’s way too much effort to make costume changes throughout the days. XD No Cosplay plans for Sunday either because I’m just going to relax and check out the Crafter’s Corner and the Comic Market that day with friends.

I’ll be re-wearing my Young Bulma costume from Dragon Ball on Friday. It’s a pretty comfy costume although I wish the weather looked more favourable for a summer feeling costume. On Saturday I’ll be re-wearing my new Madoka Kaname school uniform costume from Madoka Magica. I worked on it over the winter and debuted it at Toronto ComiCon back in March. It took me 3 months to make! It’s been a dream costume of mine for years so I’m happy that I was finally able to make it. No photoshoots planned for Madoka, sadly, but I’ll have to stop in Photo Alley to hopefully get some pics there. My amazing wig was purchased from my friend technoranama.

My only commitment for the weekend is to the Nominoichi on Friday night. I’ll be running a table for the 4th year. This time I’m at table N117. I have lots of figures, gashapons, trading goods and plush toys for sale. A lot of Sailor Moon, Pokemon, Madoka Magica, Tsubasa and The Nightmare Before Christmas merchandise. I have a number of Figmas, Nendoroids and S.H. Figuarts figures to sell. I have a pre-sale list up on the Anime North forum that you can view here. If you join the forum you can reserve things that you’re interested in up until Tuesday night. Some of the small low value items along with clothing and wigs will only be brought if they’re reserved so do have a look at the list! I’ll be bringing some Star Wars figures as well as some trading figures that I don’t have on my list so be sure to stop by! :3 The Nomi is a really fun social event so I'm excited for it.

The rest of Anime North should be fairly relaxing. I have no plans beyond the Nominoichi because the Nomi is such a high energy event. I hope I can actually use the hotel pool this year and I'm excited to see the artists, dealers, and of course, my friends. Definitely can’t wait for the con next week! :3

I used to take dance classes when I was a kid! But I gave them up so I could hang out with friends, since the classes took up my whole Saturday and I was starting to miss out on doing stuff outside of school. I sometimes wonder what would have happened if I'd have kept up the classes! I was just about to earn my double tipped tap shoes and my pointe ballet shoes when I quit ;;

also I cannot hold a note for singing rip

30. if you had to dye your hair an unnatural color right now, what would you choose?

I already answered this one, but another colour I'd like my hair is pastel pink! I think the Madoka Kaname wig I wear for her cosplay actually suits my skin tone (pale as chalk) so I think it would look cute!~
