Den modernaste filmen vi såg Maj månad var "Curse of the Ring" som jag blev rejält sugen att se om efter att ha läst Völksungasagan.

Curse of the Ring / Ring of the Nibelungs (2004) [👍🔁] Klart bättre än mycket som släpps inom fantasyn idag. Har fortfarande för avsikt att läsa Nibelungensången om jag kommer över den. Wagners operor skulle också vara kul att ge ett försök.

Den Gula Bilen (1963) [👍📺🆓] Den enda i serien som jag inte sett. Lika bra som de övriga i serien, även om man saknade fru Hillman lite. Finns på SVT Play.

Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters (2013) [👍🔁]

Happiness Cage, the / the Mind Snatchers (1972) [👎📺🆓] Konstig film med en del intressanta idéer, men knappast värd att sitta av.

Sword of Venus (1953) [📺🆓]

Tyrannernas Borg / Saracen Blade, the (1954) [👍📺🆓] Riktigt bra swashbuckler. Rekomenderas.

Voyage of the Rock Aliens (1984) [👍🔁📺🆓] Kulig SF-komedi fullmatad med bra musik som skulle kunnat vara legendarisk med en lite matigare produktion. Väl värd en chans iaf.

Med undantag för The Happines Cage ser jag inga hinder för att kasta sig över hela listan... Men Curse of the Ring / Ring of the Nibelungs, Tyrannernas Borg / Saracen Blade och Voyage of the Rock Aliens är väl värda att kika in om man inte vill sitta av hela listan.

Hercules Against the Moon Men (1964)

If you’re watching a movie called “Hercules Against the Moon Men”, I hope you’re not expecting a great, insightful art film with deep characters or grand drama. The only way you'll enjoy yourself is if you’re hoping to have some laughs at a goofy science-fiction-meets-fantasy adventure film. It runs a little too long, but it’s got a lot of fun things going on that will really entertain. If you watch it with some friends it’s sure to create some in-jokes that you can all share together for a long time. Yes, they will probably be the most obvious jokes you can imagine (I’ll get to the biggest one in a bit), but you won’t care. In no way does this even remotely resemble the Greek myth and that’s part of the fun. You get spike traps, monsters that pop out of nowhere for Hercules to clumsily beat up, a really random and poorly executed love plot, an evil queen set to take over the world, a lot of obvious stock footage, some fight scenes straight out of a WWE match and most grandiose of all, the revelation that all of the alien invasion is caused by “the evil influence of Uranus”. If that sounds like fun, you will have a good time. Don’t mistake this for a good movie. "Hercules Against the Moon Men" is entertaining trash. (On Dvd, August 2, 2012)

Comments: “The Evil Influence of Uranus” gets me every time. I know it’s childish but since this is a foreign film that’s been translated I take a lot of glee in the idea that the translators took a look at the original line, shook their heads and reluctantly translated it word for word.
