  The fall solstice was upon the city of Baldur's Gate. Though the temperature did not fluctuate much in this temperate zone, they were fortunate to have a sunny, clear day for the solstice festival. While many of the locals were still setting up booths, tables, and decorations, Deuce, the Nightingale, had found himself a spot near a stack of crates. There, he sat, with a small group of children that had found their way over. He had promised to keep them busy as the adults worked, after all. "I suppose I ought to tell you a story? One before the festival really gets started. Tell me, have you heard the many tales of the famed Drizzt Do'Urden?" There were some excited gasps and wiggles amongst the younger children, but even the older ones smiled and scooted closer. As the masked man began to focus his attention on his audience, he did not notice additional people filtering into the square... (Hope this is good!)

   𝙻𝙴𝚃𝚃𝙴𝚁𝚂 .   unprompted interactions ────────────────────────

      The festival was just another excuse for her family to arrange a booth for reasons to expand their popularity.      They would not exactly need it   —   Tailor shop Ziromzu was well-known, one of the best in the upper city anyway. Yet, it was a must; new customers could be acquired oh so easily with the help of events like these. A no-brainer, so to say.

With seven sisters managing building up the little spot they secured for their works, it came natural to have a free minute between a new crate that was being opened  &  unpacked. Babette herself helped enough already, the youngest was granted a break   —   even if she rather would help her siblings more.

Forked ears caught the excited whispers of a group of children not far from their stand, and what better to do was there except letting her curiosity win this time   ?   The young woman sauntered over, not an active participant, rather looking from the sidelines as this mysterious figure began to spin his tales to his little audience. A fan of stories since she was little, it came easy to lose herself in his story. Drizzt Do'Urden had a fascinatingly large arsenal of heroic tales   —   there surely was the one or other she did not know until now.

The seamstress found herself invested   —   a childlike interest in both the sagas  &  this man telling them as if he experienced them himself   !   What a natural. Was he a bard   ?   Then again, a bard would perhaps seek out an older audience, one that could pay for the entertainment. The edges of her lips tugged up in a soft smile, it was heartwarming, truly, having the masked one distract the little ones so they would not cause a turmoil in these preparation times. And before the hexblood could realize, she took a spot amongst the children.

When the first short tales came to an end  &  the stranger took a small breather, preparing for the next one, a gentle voice made itself noticeable from between the crowd.

     ❝ Has Drizzt ever visited our city   ? ❞     Babette finally spoke, an innocent question which was laced with true curiosity. Possibly something not only her, but the kids would be eager to know, too.

HIIII forgive me for the WILDLY belated response <33 but !!! the answer is that all three of them not only HAVE hands but ARE HOLDING hands <333 playing w the interdynamics of Fabian gorgug and adaine in the context was soososoo delightful for me bc theyve all got. very different relationships to the other two and to their own feelings <3 it starts with Fabian having a very unhealthy crush on aelwyn and then he and gorgug are both forced to reckon with their feelings for adaine when she's kidnapped- as well as reevaluate their relationship w each other in her absence !! ohoohoohoh <3

also ALSO fig is also emphatically present !!! I adore her so much and I had so much fun integrating her into this au as well <3 she joins up with the crew on their way to find adaine part way thru and ends up forming a very close.... friendship with ayda, who is also there:))

also also also yes I love the priory of the orange tree VERY much !! a couple weeks ago I read the prequel novel- a day of fallen night- and really really enjoyed that too <33

tbh the design is not that impressive imo??? the coat shape is nice but overall ..eh? also the shiny boot?? i hate them for some reason. they just....look like platformer boots XDDD r u suggesting he is short!? how dare. (maybe?) but yeah. feels like just made his original design redish and yep and oh feathers. i will look back at it again to see if artist sneaked something here or there. but i like the gloves so thats one thing.
