Finish What You Started 2024 - Event Rules

The goal of this event is to get things done that you’ve already started. We all have unfinished projects whose incomplete status haunts us. Those are what we want to tackle!

The structure is loose, as this is a multimedia event. While primarily aimed at writers, this event is open to any kind of creative fanwork. Fics, translations, podfics, fanart, animations, cosplay - if you started it and never got it done, it qualifies. There is no sign-up required. I will not assign beta readers for writers, but I can boost requests for those who want them! And I can boost messages of those who would like to beta read.

The mod is a danmei fan mainly, but your work can be any fandom. Maybe something you started before your current fandom excitement took over, or one you keep putting off in favor of compelling new ideas.

Alt text is very encouraged, especially for boost posts or artwork!

If your work is NSFW, I will only boost it if it has appropriate content warnings. Spoilering images is recommended but not required as long as it’s tagged. Do not letter-swap or abbreviate content warnings. These are so people can mute them as needed. Example: "gore" not "g0re"

Remember Tumblr can mute phrases, but each warning should be its own tag as well as in the body.

FAQ:

Q: Are original works acceptable?

A: This is primarily a fanwork-focused event. If original work is the only WIP you have to work on, it's certainly fine to work on it during the time frame of the event. If it is posted publicly when finished, you may tag it for boosting.

Q: Are there any restrictions on topics?

A: No, so long as your event # post is properly & fully tagged for content (see rules about tagging above). "Dead Dove" topics are allowed. Some submissions will be 18+. For me, this is less about the content and more about finishing it. 

The usual restrictions based on laws and Community Guidelines of course apply, so you may need to tailor how you post to which event space your interacting with. Twitter, Tumblr, and Discord all have their own rules. There are also some topics that are in poor taste to make fanworks around. I can’t believe it’s gotten to a point where I need to make one of these? It’s insane that for the past year you guys have been getting invested in my original characters and been making fanart of them. I had an ask today asking whether it was okay to make headcannons about my characters, so I thought I should make me boundaries clear, and explain certain things about my characters so you know what they are like and what they would be comfortable with. (I have to also be grateful to the creator of Welcome Home for making one of these ‘fanwork guides’ otherwise I wouldn’t have known this was a thing I could make).

I’m going to break this down into general things I’m okay with and things I’m not okay with, as well as facts and information about individual characters and what they would be comfortable with, as most of my original characters are trans I want people to be respectful and not draw them in ways that would cause them dysphoria nor draw them with body parts they aren’t comfortable with. And remember that while my persona/vtuber model has his own backstory, I’m still a real person and do not treat my persona or myself like you would treat a fictional character.

I reserve the right to be uncomfortable with any fanworks, and to disagree with any headcannons that you have for my persona or my original characters. Don’t get personally offended if I don’t accept your headcannon for my characters as canon. And while I have listed that fanfic is okay, it’s still something I’m more sensitive about as it’s much easier than fanart to portray my characters in our-of-character ways if you’re going to write about them rather than draw them. So, please be respectful.

There may be things listed here that don’t line up with some of the info about these characters in their audios, that’s because things can change and with my older characters I didn’t have an actual guide for them or details about them when I first started voicing them. When making any fan-content of me or my characters you must credit me as the creator of those characters/vtuber in that content. You can use the hashtag #dervampireprince and also tag me @dervampireprince (if the website/app allows that) in the post.

You must be 18+ to make and post fanart of me or my ocs online. (You should already be 18+ of you’re following me or interacting with my content. Youtube is the only exception on this as I don’t post 18+ content there, and my sfw art account isn’t 18+).

Fan-Merch Policy

Fan-merch means anything that is made of myself or my works that wasn’t made by myself and is being sold/monetised in some way.

It is okay to sell fan-merch of my original characters that are listed on this post as long as they adhere to the rules in the rest of this post. You are not allowed to sell fan-merch of any of my original characters not listed on this page or of myself or my vtuber model.

Items that are allowed to be sold: stickers, pins (enamel, wooden, acrylic, etc), badges/buttons, prints/posters, keychains/charms.

Items that aren’t allowed to be sold: apparel and clothing (t-shirts, hoodies, etc), figures/figurines, plushies, bags.

You are not allowed to sell fanart on places like RedBubble, Society6 and any similar site where you upload the image and they make and sell the products for you.

No mass-produced or factory made items are allowed to be sold (exception being if you’re an artist who uses a company to print your stickers or make your pins but you personally then get the items and ship them out).

Kickstarters or any other fund-raising campaigns for fan-merch is not allowed.

Label your work as unofficial merch, do not claim to be made by or affiliated with myself.

You are not allowed to use any of my works (or works made by anyone other than yourself) to create products/listings to sell. I can and will take copyright action against anyone stealing my work and selling it, please don’t make me have to do that.

Selling fan-merch is only for other artists (for example on their Etsy/Shopify stores, at comic cons), business (for example Hot Topic, Sharkrobot) are not allowed to sell fan-merch.

I reserve the right to change, update or even reverse decisions on this policy at any time. Please respect these rules and boundaries so I don’t have to reverse any of these decisions.

You wouldn’t send an ask to your favourite author or film director telling them about a fanfic you wrote or headcannon you have, so please don’t tell me about them, it’s sort of weird, and I think you’ll ultimately get upset when I don’t agree with your portrayal of my characters.

Having headcannons about my ocs is fine, but please don’t send me asks about them, inform me directly of them, or ask if they’re canon because it's likely that no I won’t agree with them, I won’t think they’re canon, and I don’t want that to upset because you’re still free to have whatever headcannons you want in your mind. I have headcannons about characters that aren’t mine all the time, but I don’t message the character creator and tell them about them.

Gender-bending, genders-swapping or changing the gender of my persona/vtuber or any of my original characters. I don’t have anything against gender-bending in general, but myself and most of my original characters are trans and it would be extremely uncomfortable and dysphoric to see me/them depicted as other genders. This includes genderbending one of my trans man characters into a woman, or into a cis man. Do not change any of my trans character's gender identities or assigned-at-birth-gender.

Changing the personality, gender, sexuality, morals, religion, body type, body, genitalia, hair, age of my persona or my original characters. If a character doesn’t have a canonical body/genitals/chest/etc please do not draw what you assume they have.

Re-posting, re-uploading, or editing any of my work (even if you do it with credit). This includes my audios, artwork, photos and any other content I’ve made. Including making video edits that include my artwork, voice, or other content I’ve made.

Re-posting, re-uploading, or editing any fanworks of my characters made by others without their permission (even if you’ve credited them).

I do, do requests actually! More details are in my master post but it is long so here's the skinny, yeah?

Be polite, as always! (Not that you'll have a problem with it, but it never hurts to make it clear for others).

I do requests for any character at least once! Have yet to ban a character outright. I write for whatever your fancy is, but I don't do rape/noncon, pedophilia, scat/piss, or vomit. I can and will add to this list.

If you want smut you must have your age in bio and the characters involved must also be at least 18! If it's anonymously asked, keep in mind I flag my posts as sexually explicit for smut and if you're not +18 on your account, you won't see it at all. I also require a base prompt and (if smut) kinks preferred or to be outright avoided.

I do reader inserts but need to know if they're afab, amab, or just totally non binary (with preferred pronouns regardless of sex). This is especially important if I'm writing smut cause writing around two very different types of sex is... Tricky. I prefer to avoid it if possible.

If you just want a head canon I can do that no problem, just keep above in mind!

I actually still have the option for jewelry requests open but I haven't done one in quite a while. Essentially I design jewelry for a character that's been requested, the type can either be specified or left up to me.

For events I open it up to OCs I've never written before and we hash out the details in DMs.

For commissions I am a little more open but my nopes are still firmly fixed. Feel free to refer to the master post for more info on comms specifically, I don't wanna bog down this ask.

The goal of this event is to get things done that you’ve already started. We all have unfinished projects whose incomplete status haunts us. Those are what we want to tackle!

The structure is loose, as this is a multimedia event. While primarily aimed at writers, this event is open to any kind of creative fanwork. Fics, translations, podfics, fanart, animations, cosplay - if you started it and never got it done, it qualifies. There is no sign-up required. I will not assign beta readers for writers, but I can boost requests for those who want them! And I can boost messages of those who would like to beta read.

The mod is a danmei fan mainly, but your work can be any fandom. Maybe something you started before your current fandom excitement took over, or one you keep putting off in favor of compelling new ideas.

Remember Tumblr can mute phrases, but each warning should be its own tag as well as in the body.

This account will post weekly morale-boosting messages and helpful resources. Every Friday, starting March 15th, will be Finished It Friday. All the completed works posted that week will be boosted together in a big thread, so we can celebrate your accomplishment!

FAQ:

Q: Are original works acceptable?

A: This is primarily a fanwork-focused event. If original work is the only WIP you have to work on, it's certainly fine to work on it during the time frame of the event. If it is posted publicly when finished, you may tag it for boosting.

Q: Are there any restrictions on topics?

A: No, so long as your event # post is properly & fully tagged for content (see rules about tagging above). "Dead Dove" topics are allowed. Some submissions will be 18+. For me, this is less about the content and more about finishing it. 

The usual restrictions based on laws and Community Guidelines of course apply, so you may need to tailor how you post to which event space your interacting with. Twitter, Tumblr, and Discord all have their own rules. There are also some topics that are in poor taste to make fanworks around. The event organizer and mods reserve the right to not boost your work if they decide it is rage-baiting or trolling. They are not responsible for negative reactions to your works. Please be respectful of those you share a digital space with. 

Keep in mind that when I link to your finished work during a Finished It Friday, it may reach a wider audience than you may be used to.

Q: Are there any restrictions on media that can be submitted?

A: Machine Generated or "AI" images and writing are not permitted. If you are found in violation of this rule, you will be removed from the event. All images, writing, or other works must be your own.

I am highly selective about writing sex scenes. As a general rule, I don't write them and prefer fading to black.

This blog is multiship, and I only ship chemistry. I enjoy writing out interactions between characters organically, so I'd rather not assume pre-existing connections unless we've discussed it prior.

Half-Russian, half-American, full nerd. After being raised in a household dominated by his abusive father, druglord by excellence, he took matters into his own hands. That is, he killed the guy... and eventually, himself. Then he came back, a little less human, a little more angel. He roams the city with his sometimes-human, sometimes-cat Lisbeth [ @deadlist ]. Death seems to have an affinity for him, and he doesn't seem to care. On the contrary, he actively pursues paths that lead to death. An artist and hopeless romantic, Dmitry never fails to see beauty in living. He's just bad at remembering that, and bad at staying dead. He has never met a challenge capable of dissuading him once he's made up his mind. True, he's the poster boy for several chapters in the DSM, but you can't have it all, can you?

I'll put up a proper intro post later, but I wanted to go ahead and give a little info. You can call me A.T. or Diamond. I'm in my 30s and I've been RPing as Angel Dust for about two years now. This is an RP account focused on the darker aspects of Angel's life and afterlife. Please be aware that there will be quite a bit of dead dove content. Because of this, I am going to be very strict about no minors. If you interact with this account in any way and your page doesn't state that you are 18+, you will be blocked.

As stated, with this account, I'm looking to get into the darker aspects of Angel's life and afterlife. This account is specifically for threads featuring such topics as rape, abusive relationships - relationships that are physically, sexually, emotionally, and/or otherwise abusive - prostitution and trafficking, violence, murder, drug abuse, and organized crime. I will put trigger tags on things, but this entire account also just has a blanket dead dove warning.

To be clear, these are the things I intend to RP here. EVERYTHING must be discussed first. My character might be going through (or doing) some shit, but I want both muns comfortable with what's happening. Communication is key! If that's a problem, we're not gonna click to write together. The topics on this blog are dark and the muses might be hurt in any number of ways, but everything should be consensual from the standpoint of all MUNS involved.

This is not my main account, nor will I be linking it, but just know I cannot follow you back from here. The main reason I don't intend to link my main blog is the potential for harassment. → Pre-stabilished relationships are only for canon relationships. Your OCs will have to be introduced to my muses first, or plotted beforehand. Non-canon ships also must be plotted beforehand, sorry. I'm really picky about that. If you don't ship a canon ship, let me know beforehand so I can avoid writing pre-stabilished romantic relationships with you.

→ I don't expect anyone with canon characters to follow the storylines/plotlines I post (or reblog) in this blog. You're free to disagree with them as you wish; however If you like them and want to join them, feel free to ask me first! And yes, I can change parts of these verses/plotlines to accommodate you and your headcanons, just let me know first!

→ Our portrayals of the same muse may differ, and that's okay. Don't expect me to write the same muse like you and vice-versa (I feel uncomfortable when people do that).

※ If you feel unsure about your own portrayals, please remember that even the canon material has different portrayals of a character because it was written by multiple people. I may block if someone comes to "teach" me or anyone else how to write my or their muses. Hi I'm Ni (She/They; 20↑), I love Digimon in general, but the series I work with more is the OG Adventure series. I'm Ace/Panromantic, please use she/her or they/them pronouns. I'm a scaredy-cat kind of person who gets nervous and anxious at first, but once we start bonding I'll drop that and be more of myself. Also, I'm not good with people/communication, so sometimes I have meltdowns and have to step back for a while. Usually I'm either cooling off on a non-roleplaying blog or just hanging out on Discord. So please be patient with me during these times.

I love to learn new things, so please correct me if needed but without yelling at me because I kind of hate being yelled at, because I had bad personal life experiences in the past. My muses, despite some being quite closer to my personality are NOT me so please be aware of the differences between muse and writer.

I get super duper fired up when talking about the things I love the most. However I can be quite harsh and critical about said stuff as well. I tend to get a lot of brainstorms so if I’m messaging you that much please tell me and I will slow down my pace. 

I also get excited when writing a thread, so I tend to reply hella quickly while I still have in mind what to say. Don’t rush me, but give me small reminders if I forget to reply since there’s a chance I actually forgot to or thought it was your turn when in fact I hadn’t replied in the first place.

I also draw. Like, a lot. Quite compulsive. Some of my non-canon-material icons are my own art. And I feel a bit uncomfortable by using other people’s fanart WITHOUT their permission. So yeah, I do my own doodled icons… When I get energy for those.
