After reading a bit of the extra story that Kanon leaves in the comments and the website about each of the new and "Encore" episodes and finding out that both Alam and Olivia fell in love instantly during their one night jaunt when they first met is so-- sad....

It makes so much sense though, knowing who they were.

Olivia comes from a noble family and was extremely sheltered, following her father's words, to be a docile and obedient woman, in hopes that she doesn't get casted away like her sisters.

Alam on the other hand came from a relatively poor family, but grows up to be a respectable young man. Even so his father worries, giving him words of encouragement to steer him right, and Alam accepts it because he deeply respects his father. Following in travelling the world with him and becoming a fine merchant.

The first time they met was likely the first time they had ever felt love.

Which makes it so much more worse that Matt and Harvey decided to screw Alam over before their relationship could properly begin.

Blinded by love, Alam searched for the ring, ignoring all the warning bells. He knew that what the two offered was a lie, but if it's for Olivia and to be by her side, he's willing to go to such lengths.

Alam and Olivia met and bonded in the span of one night before Alam decides to go find the ring, which means that every subsequent interaction they had until the end of BitB already had him under the ring's influence. The love was mutual for only one night.

In simplest terms, a group of robots managed to get into our base and steal our Sniper's bot-killer rifle.

He's rather upset about it.

Given the occasional break in attempts that happened in the past regarding that rifle, I can't say I am surprised.

If I'm being honest, I think this whole thing would've been avoided if he'd just removed that "charm" as he called it and gave it to the bots.
