Endeavour Morse is a man that is so thoroughly fed up with idiotic social conventions and by golly do I love him for that. They put him on general duties for being too good at his job and he says "nah" and continues to make everyone eat crow and he doesn't even care about adulation, he literally just wants to do his job. Someone in much higher social standing than him tries to intimidate him into not doing his job and he's just like 🤨 His superiors (with the exception of Thursday) constantly belittle him for being too good at his job and then are like "hey can you come off of general duties and help us catch this serial killer 👉👈" because that man is deeply brilliant and deeply autistic about opera and he's like "yeah" and he catches the serial killer. He's the perfect balance of "idgaf" and "I give more fucks than literally anyone else here" and by golly. I love him. A lot.
