Stuck

Trigger warnings: Claustrophobia, panic attacks
Scared one: Chan (I'm sorry that he always has to suffer from my mind's ideas TT)
Comforter: Changbin, Felix
In @eternal-stay 's country is/was a blackout and we just pretend that it was in Seoul. Well and when there is a blackout, elevators get stuck. And who is known for being... no, not stuck in an elevator (that would go to skz' Felix and the Felix who writes this... is that kinda a Felix-thing???), no who is known for being up all night in the studios? Right Chan and sometimes Changbin. Well you can imagine or read the rest.
..............................................................☀............................................................
"Hyung? It's already 2am, I think we should go home now" Chan looked up from his laptop, in Changbin's direction. The younger boy looked tired indeed and Chan started to feel guilty about letting him stay in the 3RACHA studio for so long. "You can already go Binnie, I'll just make this ready and-" "No, we'll go back together! I don't want you to stay here all night." The Aussie sighed but nodded defeated. Changbin, clearly suprised that the leader didn't argue, just took it as a win.
After they saved their work, they went to the elevator together.
Normaly the leader wouldn't go in an elevator and preffered the stairs. Small rooms made him anxious. Like really, really anxious. But he was too tired to fight against Changbin now. What could happen anyway?
They waited until the elevator arived. As soon, as the doors closed, Changbin felt Chan grabbing the right arm of the rapper and hold on it tight. "Sshh hyung, no need to be scared. See we're nearly there" Changbin tried to help the eldest. He got a slow nod back.
Suddenly, the elevator stood still and the light went out. Chan's grip around Changbin's arm tightened and he heard that Chan's breathing got faster. "B-Binnie, what's wrong?" the leader asked with a shaky voice. "I don't know. Maybe a little blacko-" realizing that his words weren't the smartest to calm his friend down, Changbin stopped himself. He pulled his phone out of his pocket and turned the flashlight on.
The rapper turned his head to Chan, so he could get a better view on the leader. As soon as the light hit the other's face, he turned away, clearly not wanting Changbin to see his face. But Changbin saw it and it broke his heart.
Chan's eyes were opened wide, tears already rolled down his cheeks and his breathing was fast and unsteady. His already pale skin was even paler and his complete body was shaking.
"Hey, Channie, look at me, yeah? Can you do that for me?" Changbin was suprised how soft his voice sounded, but hardly doubt that his friend would listen to him. The more surprised he was, when Chan really turned his face in Changbin's direction again. Before the rapper could say something, the older one started to speak "W-what if we won't c-come out here?" Changbin tried to understand what his leader said. As always when Chan was scared, hurt or sick, he started to speak a mix out of Korean and English and his voice cracked at some point. He was swallowing down a sob, Changbin was sure about it.
"No, that won't happen, I promise." "B-but how do you... do you know?" "I'm very sure about it" Changbin went over to his scared friend and pulled him in a tight hug. That was enough for Chan to break down.
He started to sob in Changbin's neck, holding the younger member so tight as if he feared he could fade away.
If Changbin's heart didn't already break, it broke now. He had never seen Chan in such a panic, never heard him sobbing like that. He slowly started to rub circles over the other's back and tried to comfort him. "Sshh Channie, it's okay, we'll be fine, we'll be fine. We are safe, nothing will happen to us. They will find us, don't worry. Should I call Felix, so they know where we are? Or Minho?" "...Lix"
Changbin barely heard him through the sobs, but managed to understand. "Okay, Felix it is then. Can I just call him and I hug you after it again?" he felt how Chan shook his head and started to sob harder again. "Hey, it's fine, it's completely fine. But can we sit down, maybe? It will be more comfortabe" this time Chan nodded and they sat down.
The rapper pullled his hyung closer to him and hugged him from the side, while he started to call Felix. He saw, that the other members already tried to call him. Hastily he tipped in Felix' name. "Please, please, please pick up Yongbok!" he muttered under his breath. After two ringing noises, a cracking sound could be heard and right after it Felix deep and with worry filled voice.
Felix: Changbin?? Where are you and Chan?
Changbin: In JYPE.
F: Are you both safe? The complete city is shut down, thanks to a blackout.
CB: We're aware of it. Chan-hyung is with me. *Whispering* but I can't tell you how safe we are.
F: What?! Where are you in JYPE?
CB: We got stuck in an elevator. Channie-hyung is freaking out completely.
F: I'll call someone to help you!
CB: Yeah, I guess that would be good...
F: I'll call you again as soon as possible. Say Channie-hyung that he doesn't need to be scared.
CB: Thank you, I'll tell him.
With that, Felix hung up.
Changbin looked back at the Aussie, who hid his head in the rapper's neck. "Channie?" he knew that Chan preffered that nickname when he was scared, so he tried to use it as often as possible in this situation. "Mhm?" Chan looked up to the rapper. His eyes were red and puffy from crying and tears still fall down his cheeks. "Felix calls someone to help us now. And then he will call again."
While talking Changbin gently pushed his hyungs head back on his shoulder and started to play with his hair. Chan didn't protest and just cuddled closer on his dongsaeng. "Are you still scared that something will happen to us?" Changbin asked softly and looked down at Chan, who nodded. "Y-you know I hate small rooms like this..." "Yeah, I know. Sorry for bringing you in here" "It's not your fault. I could've walked down" he still mixed the two languages up but at least he had stopped to talk so fast.
They sat there in silent for a little time, the only thing that was audible sometimes, were Chan's choked sobs and a slight pitch in his breathing. A look on the phone told Changbin 2:30am. He sighed and just wanted to put the phone away again, when a call from Felix showed up at the display.
F: Help will come as... as soon as possible.
CB: Oh thank god! Wait, why are you panting?
F: I-I'm on my way to JYPE
CB: What?! Why??
F: So I'm there as soon as you are out of that damn, fucking-
CB: Okay, I got it you can stop swearing on this elevator.
Felix stopped running for a moment to catch his breath again. When he stopped, he noticed a weird backround noise out of the phone.
F: Is Chan still crying?
CB: Yeah and he talks to me *whispering* I guess.
F: Do you even understand something out of this language-mess or does it only sound messy through the phone?
CB: No, it does sound messy and no, I can't understand that pretty good, but until now, I managed.
F: Can you put me on speaker? Maybe I can understand him when he wants to say something.
CB: Sure
*Puts phone on speaker*
F: Hello? Channie-hyung, Changbin? You both hear me?
BC, CB: Yes
F: Okay that's good. Is help already there?
CB: It wasn't there a second ago and I would've told you...
F: Sorry my bad. Channie-hyung?
BC: Y-yeah, I'm here don't worry.
Changbin and Felix heard how shaky Chan's voice was, but both decided to not say anything to that fact. Both knew that Chan hated to be 'weak' in front of his dongsaengs.
F: Okay, good. You fine, mate?
BC: Yes, I-I'm fine.
F: Okay I'm nearly...th...damn...f-
There was a cracking noise again, then silence. "Damn the signal broke!" Changbin muttered. Chan stayed silent and stared at the wall.
"Hey, you really okay?" Changbin looked at his friend with worry in his eyes. "Y-yeah, just feel a little sick" "Do you need to throw up?" the Aussie shook his head. "Okay, just say if it gets worse".
They sat there a couple of minutes, until Chan started to shiver again. "Do you feel worse?" the rapper asked a bit anxious, before he realized, that the leader had started to cry again. "I-I just want to get out of h-here" "I know Channie I know" Changbin pulled the older one in a hug again. "This is so dumb! I shouldn't cry like this. It's pathetic. I should be stronger than this. I'm such a bad hyung" "Hush now Chan! First of all, this is not dumb. You are scared and that is okay and not pathetic, no matter in which position or situation you are and especially that you cry is so, so strong. And second, you are the best hyung we could ever have! You are the best leader in the universe, got it?" Chan nodded against Changbin's shoulder and let out a shaky breath.
Just when Chan had calmed down, the elevator suddenly started to move down again and the light went back on. Completely surprised Chan and Changbin stood up. The Aussie clutched the rapper's arm again, fear in his eyes. "Hey Chan, no worries, the blackout is over, that's why it moves again" the other didn't look totally convinced but stopped to grip Changbin's arm like his life depended on it.
The elevator stopped again. A moment nothing happened and Changbin was afraid that Chan would start to panic again. But then finally the doors opened to the sides and Felix stood in front of them.
"Oh my- thank god!" he shouted and opened his arms for Chan, who ran straight to Felix and out of "the thing right out of hell" how he would call the elevator later. Felix hugged his hyung tightly and Chan started to sob again, but this time in Felix' shoulder. "Sshh Channie, it's okay, I've got you, nothing can happen to you now" the younger Aussie whispered, while he smiled at Changbin who came out a bit slower (what wasn't hard with the speed his hyung had had).
"I'm so glad you both are okay!" Felix muttered to Changbin, when he joined the hug. "Me too. Me too, believe me" he got as an answer.

Chapter Thoughts — Chapter 423: One For All vs. All For One
At the request of a few asks, have some chapter thoughts. I will warn everyone in advance that some portions of this post are extremely bitter. This is less salty than it is bile-flavored. It's also not quite as thorough as other posts have been, as my disillusionment with the material limits my willingness to comb the chapter for details to muse about beyond the ones that jump out at me.
None of which is to say that this post is short.
CONTENT WARNING: Confrontational rhetoric about irl prisons and the hypothetical of committing suicide to avoid them. I have strong personal feelings about some of the language I've been seeing from defenders of this chapter and I'm in no mood to prevaricate around them.
o Danger Sense continues to be some real bullshit. My initial response to the leaks was that it was yet another dumb contrivance to make things arbitrarily harder for the villains than equivalent things would be for the Heroes, but reading the official release, I actually just think it's dumb that AFO thinks Danger Sense would have alerted him to his/Shigaraki's failing body at all. Why would it? Danger Sense nominally (nominally) activates based on hostility, and where's the hostility in super-regeneration failing? If it were the remnants of Shigaraki/OFA attacking him from within his own body, that'd be one thing, but that doesn't seem to be what the first few pages are getting at.
Rather, it's just that the power of OFA is being too much for his body, in the same way it was for Deku at the beginning. As if, you know, Shigaraki hasn't already been surgically modified to handle both AFO and, presumably, OFA the whole time. Ujiko only mentioned the former specifically, but given that the plan was always for AFO's new vessel to be able to steal OFA, why wouldn't that also be accounted for? The best I can think is that AFO and Ujiko didn't know that OFA would put such strain on the body, but it's not like AFO couldn't have observed that the quirk's been growing stronger over the generations. If he and Ujiko just failed to calibrate the body correctly, it's a failure of Ujiko's warped genius as a mad biologist and quirk scientist—which again takes us back to dumb contrivances that make things harder for the villains than they would be for the heroes.
o The Kurogiri scene would be very touching if it, you know, actually amounted to something. If it didn't apparently end with Bakugou coming in to murder him. Except we don't even quite get that level of commitment because Kurogiri was falling apart already, so you get the impression that he would have collapsed with or without Bakugou's intervention.
o This in turn makes Bakugou's intervention really silly and pointless. My god, I don't care. I do not care! I do not care about Bakugou pushing Deku two steps forward past a barrier that was already failing. I do not care about Bakugou getting one last stupid victory lap when he's already dramatically endured a severe beating and emotional assault, stood back up from the stupidest heart surgery in the history of fiction, and faced down everything AFO could unleash on him, far outstripping that same villain's climactic efforts fighting All Might in Kamino in what remains AFO's only semi-emotionally resonant battle in the whole manga. As it is, this is just one more ludicrous handwaved magical cross-country teleport like every other one the Heroes have been enjoying through this whole fight.
o Yoichi paying attention to AFO now? Man, imagine if we could have just skipped a bunch of bullshit and gotten this way back in Chapter 368, when Yoichi first told AFO that it was over. Imagine if Vestige Yoichi had something like this when his actual for-real flesh-and-blood brother died, rather than having zero reaction to it whatsoever, not even looking over Deku's psychic shoulder and making a sad face about it.
o It actually kind of offends me that Horikoshi thinks he can get away with taking a stab in the direction of making AFO "sympathetic" now. Now, after he's spent the entire endgame portraying AFO as a two-dimensional Demon Lord who was literally Evil In Utero. And, you know, I'd buy AFO as being Evil In Utero but also capable of loneliness, sure. And I'm even more than on board with interpreting AFO as a man who's spent the last century working 24:7 to convince himself that he's heartlessly evil to deal with the loss of the only family he ever had. But the fact that this statement has been put in the mouth of Deku, who has never indicated the faintest trace of sympathy or understanding, much less compassion for AFO? Fuck off.
o All that Yoichi hyping up Deku's incredible finesse in attacking Shigaraki with the stored-up OFA quirks makes me think is, "Welcome to My Hero Academia, where the stakes are made up and the past doesn't matter!" I am so abominably weary of the endgame's—and the series in general's—willing to just baldly lie to the audience's face about what is actually happening at any given point in the story.
That was the moment when we should have had a response from Yoichi, what with Shigaraki having apparently torn AFO's vestige limb from psychic limb and Bakugou overseeing as the real man rewound out of existence. That Yoichi didn't respond back then just made him seem like he'd written off his brother generations ago; it makes his sorrowful-yet-grateful act in this chapter incredibly unearned. Of course, the actual reason we didn't get a beat like this back then wasn't for any reason consistent with Yoichi's feelings about his brother, nor because Yoichi was too far away to know that the brother he has a psychic bond with was dying. No, it was because Horikoshi was already writing towards this beat instead, so he didn't need to bother. The last time Yoichi looks the real AFO’s way was the chapter-ending Bakugou blast of 409, when it takes the first eight pages of 410 for AFO’s Rewinding death to finalize itself. The Hawks vestige talked more to All For One in his last moments than AFO’s own brother did.
Internal monologue is placed where internal monologue cannot possibly exist. Characters' plans are backdated to points in the story which are completely irreconcilable with how those characters were behaving at the time. Surprise and dismay are pantomimed from characters who are revealed to have anticipated and planned for the very eventuality they're acting so shocked about.
The main character, a kid who was once characterized by his tendency to mutter his thoughts out loud, who had a running gag of tightly packed, densely worded speech/thought balloons, has been reduced to an empty marionette, devoid of internal monologue, scoured of thoughts more complex than the multiplication tables of his quirk combinations. The story can retroactively say that Deku did—intentionally and willfully!—anything it wants and not have to worry about belying its phony stakes and made-for-Twitter cliffhangers because it has deprived Deku of his own capacity to reflect. He can't spoil twist reveals of his own true intentions if the narrative completely locks us out of his head! Nevermind how much of his final battle has occurred inside a shared goddamn psychic space.
All of this has made it totally impossible for me to read the story as a story. Not only do I see the strings, the strings have become all I can see.
Of course the vestiges are back one last time for a dramatic punch, despite multiple chapters swearing up and down to us that we were seeing a big emotional sacrifice play. Last chapter we witnessed the word vomit that was Horikoshi trying to justify Star's pilots surviving their planes blowing up, because that's how determined Horikoshi is that no one on Team Hero actually die. Of course the vestiges came back.
Who cares? Truly, who the fuck cares? I don't care about them; I don't care about whether they'll be back again in the epilogue; I don't care about why Vestige Might and Shinomori are missing from the punch; I don't care about the story finally trying to pretend that anyone in its pages has ever given a single starving river rat's ass about All For One's humanity.
—NOW ENTERING FULL-FLEDGED RANT ZONE—
I care about the only characters who have ever been facing actual stakes in this war: Shigaraki and his followers.
o Even though I care, I don't have it in me to weigh in much about Shigaraki's seeming death here, and especially not his last words. I'm far too jaded about Horikoshi's cliffhangers to think that anything I say now about Shigaraki dying and what it means for both Hero Society and the people Shigaraki leaves behind can be assumed to still be accurate two weeks from now.
I hope it's a fakeout. I hope a chunk of Shigaraki's body fell through Kurogiri's last portal and the hyper-regen can kick back in once he's no longer being assaulted on all sides by the allies of the kid who was trying to “save” him. I hope Horikoshi has one last stupid asspull up his sleeve. I hope for a complete Karma Houdini ending for Shigaraki and the rest of the League.
If we don't get that, it's gonna suck, and it's gonna turn Deku into a fraud and a liar. I don't care if the story wants me to think Shigaraki was saved; I don't care if Deku is satisfied with having saved "that crying boy."
I have not forgotten that "that crying boy" gently refused to accept Deku's "save" when the bell rang to go home. He wanted to go back to his friends, instead; he reiterated his desire to be a Hero for the Villains. The crying child returned to the form of Shigaraki Tomura and then AFO devoured him. Deku didn't save the child then, and he hasn't saved him now.
Remember how Eri didn't count as truly saved from Overhaul until the first time she could smile fully and freely? Guess what stops you from doing that? Right—being fucking dead.
And those touching last words of Shigaraki's won't do Spinner much good on account of him still being brain-damaged from a bunch of extra quirks no one can remove, because the only people who could are, again, fucking dead.
Unless, of course, the theorists are right and Deku is going to be not only not quirkless in the epilogue (meaning all that drama and emotion about sacrificing OFA is going to be another fucking lie), he's going to have the "unified" OFA+AFO quirk via Shigaraki's fistbump. Meaning Deku can remove the extra quirks, presumably just before telling Spinner that Deku saved-via-killing the love of Spinner's life.
Solidarity among outcasts is false and toxic. Everyone should just rely on Heroes more, no matter how much Heroes have failed them in the past.
o One last thing I want to address, less about the canon and more about the reactions I've been seeing elsewhere to the prospect of Shigaraki (and any combination of Dabi, Toga and Spinner) being dead: the idea that being dead is the best possible outcome for them because if they don't die they'll only have to spend the rest of their lives "rotting in jail."
Great job, team; nice message to take home. Everyone pack it in.
Firstly, and to get this out of the way, that is a false binary that totally ignores the long history of Shounen Jump villains getting absurd Karma Houdini endings where they walk off into the sunset free as birds because they've changed their minds and resolved to be better, or at least have decided mass murder is no longer worth their time and effort. (Vegeta wasn't the first mass murderer a Shounen Jump story rewarded with freedom and friendship, nor was he the last.)
But more importantly, that false binary is one that could only be presented by someone who truly does see prison as a fate worse than death. No rehabilitation is possible. No supervised release or house arrests in the care of assigned guardians who want better for them. No lenience can be granted in recognition of the League's mental states; they can be admitted to no mental hospitals focused on therapy.
The "better death than prison" line is the product of a perspective that has never had to seriously consider the prospect of living behind bars. It's a childish imagination of prison as a nebulous Bad Place where Bad People go to be Punished For Being Bad, or a self-righteous fantasy of a cold hell where sinners are sentenced to suffering eternal.
People can tell that the League have suffered too much to sentence them to Forever Bad Times, so they comfort themselves with the idea that at least they died happy, instead of living forever in a pop-culture-informed crayon doodle of concrete and solitude.
I’m not here to tell these readers that there aren't people in the world who would rather die than live under watch for the rest of their lives. I won’t deny that Japanese prisons are bleak and there’s every chance that the prisons in Horikoshi’s fictionalized Japan are even worse. But I am asking people espousing the view that death would be better than incarceration to seriously consider all the angles on what that sentiment means.
If it were you facing the life sentence, are you so sure you would prefer to take your own life? If it were someone you loved who would rather die than face imprisonment, would you help them—hand your older brother the gun, or your younger sister the knife?
Or would you want to hope that they could get some help instead, have an opportunity to connect to something meaningful—find religion, take up reading classic literature, connect with someone inside or via letters? Would you want them to accept the lawful punishment for what they'd done rather than evade it by ending their lives? Would you want them to hold on in case their case could be reassessed someday, that they might eventually finish serving their sentence or be moved to someplace that would focus on helping them rather than punishing them?
Would you want a glorified cop in a cape making that decision for them—or you—based on that cop's ability to "forgive"?
If you think prison is a fate worse than death, why is it okay that people like Gentle Criminal or the Shie Hassaikai Trash Trio have to endure it, while mass murderers, serial killers and insurrectionists like the League get to escape through death? Think of every purse snatcher who gets paraded in front of cameras with their arms bound and their face muzzled; think of Twice at sixteen; think of Mr. Compress now. Do these people deserve to suffer in the kind of torment you're imagining prison must entail? Would it be better for them to die rather than endure it?
If prisons in BNHA's Japan are so terrible as all that, isn't that something the kids should try to fix? Shouldn't that be a part of the mass societal improvement project people are swearing up and down the kids will have nicely sewn up in the epilogue? If the kids aren't going to fix these prisons—these places that take suicide risks like Ending and spit them out worse than ever; these places like Tartarus where the wardens call the people in their charge monsters and animals—then why should I believe the kids are going to fix literally anything else?
Or is it simply the case that it's perfectly fine that prisons should be this way; shitty prison conditions are only bad when it's the villains whose sympathetic backstories we know who're facing them?
"It's a shame, but the League has to pay for their crimes." But why does that “have to be”? Isn’t it because no one involved—not the characters, not the author, not the people who accept this ending—can envision a world where the “has to be” could be otherwise?
That's the problem with, "Killing someone can be a way of saving them," and, "They would have just spent the rest of their lives in prison anyway." It's a stunted mentality that leaves no room for the radical reforms and systemic improvements that are necessary to stop this whole cycle from repeating. Worse, as I very much suspect we're going to see in the epilogue, it's a mentality that says the system is actually fine as it is—the only real problems were caused by a tiny handful of bad actors, and now that they've been removed, everything else will self-correct, and things will go back to normal.
That precious, perfect status quo that Deku swore to return: this is the way he brings it back, it and everything that comes with it.
o In summary: if this ending sticks, then what we have in My Hero Academia is thus:
A world that played at being grounded, but which turned out to run on arbitrary rules, magic thinking and Evil Babies.
Characters that were presented as radically kind, but whose endgame resolutions represented a cruel underlining of the status quo, in which only those who suffer in silence deserve not to have to.
A story that wanted to be staunchly idealistic but which ultimately entrenched to hollow, meaningless platitudes.
o P.S. So like, Nana’s vestige saved Shigaraki off-screen, right? So even after all her fear that Shigaraki would have to die, even after all the efforts she and Deku made to help Deku break him down, at the very last moment, she wanted to save him. And she did so in the only reason she could, as one psychic scrap to another: she held his soul together when he was shattering apart. But when Deku comes to the very last moment, when Shigaraki’s body is shattering apart, does he do anything to try to hold Shigaraki together? Try to tell Shigaraki how to use Black Whip to hold his body together, call for Sero and his tape, Aizawa’s Erasure, anything like that?
If it doesn't stick? That I'm less sure of. But I'm pretty sure Deku's fucked as the Symbol of Hope no matter what. There’s no way, at this point, to fix his portrayal as the kid who has a drive to save that eclipses all common understanding. Every part of the story, before and after that declaration of Yoichi’s in Chapter 287, has served to undermine that claim. This is just the last nail in the sky coffin.
Nah. Instead, he just administers one last punch to finish the job. The boy with the drive to save that eclipses all common understanding, everyone.

Got a mobile EKG today... technology has come a long way since I had one of these 8 years ago!! My old one had like 5 electrodes and a monitor I had to carry around like a purse. This has one (1) electrode and a monitor legitimately the size of a Square attachment to a smartphone that sticks on like an electrode and weighs nothing.

Carsick

(I tried to find pictures, don't blame me qwq)
Trigger warings: emeto, carsickness
Sickie: Chan
Caregiver: Minho, Felix, Seungmin, Jeongin
Chan gets carsick. I don't know what to write else :,D
It was a hot summer day and to the Stray Kids members bad, they had to film a new music video in this heat. Chan was still wondering how no one fainted while dancing. He tried to get in as many breaks as possible, so all of them were able to drink enough.
The leader himself wasn't the best rolemodel in that case, but that had a reason: Minho forbit Chan to drive the car home. He made that already clear when Chan said he would drive the car to the place for the shooting. The dancer said that Chan wouldn't be able to focus in the evening after nearly 24 hours of working. Yeah, Minho was right but he had his little 'secret'. He got carsick very fast when he didn't know the road. And another problem for him was, that Minho and him drove with the maknae line. In the end it wasn't a real problem, but he knew how they were feeling around sick people and being honest with himself: there was a high chance he would get sick. So he tried to not eat and drink too much. Maybe he wouldn't get carsick then.
Around 7pm, they finally filmed the last scene. "And cut! Good job y'all, that was amazing!" with that the camera man stopped the recording. "Ugh finally, I thought one of us would faint!" Minho breathed out and looked at the older Aussie. "You look defenitely too tired to drive home. I will do that. Now come on, we'll just take the baby-line with us and then we head straight back home."
After the group settled in the car, Minho started to drive. The younger members sat in the back and chatted with each other on the regular Stray Kids volume. Chan looked out of the window and just hoped that not eating and drinking enough would beware him of getting sick. He looked at Minho. "Is it okay if I try to sleep for a bit?" the dancer just smiled warmly at him. "Of course Chan, don't worry. Guys! Keep it down a bit yeah?" but Chan shook his head. "I'm able to sleep in the studios when you all work, this isn't louder."
When Chan woke up again, he looked around confused. He needed a moment to remember why exactlly were in a car. The leader carefully wrapped an arm around his stomach, just a bit, so no one would notice.
After a few minutes, Seungmin called out to Minho: "Minho-hyung, do you always drive that slow? If you continue like that, we'll be home in 3 days!" the dancer muttered something like: "better safe than sorry you dumbass" but eventually got a bit faster over time.
In the back of the car, vocalRACHA plus Felix was focused on their phones. But when Jeongin looked up, he saw how pale Chan had gone. The oldest was trembeling slightly and swallowed more than it was normal. I.N shook Felix shoulder softly to get the other boy's attention. "Huh?" the dancer looked at him in confusion. "Felix-hyung, look how pale Chan-hyung is. Do you think he is okay?" Felix looked at the other Aussie. Yeah, he saw what their maknae meant. At this time, Chan was whiter than a sheet of paper, wich was way paler than Chan's normal skin tone.
"Chan? You okay mate?" Chan looked at his friend a bit stunned. He didn't expect that someone would start to talk to him and then even in English. "Y-yeah, I'm fine." he answered, but he didn't look convincing.
Now, Seungmin and Minho took part at the conversation too. Minho frowned a bit. English wasn't his strongest language, especially if the two Aussies spoke it with their damn accent. But when he looked at his only hyung, he probably knew why they talked in their mother tongue. Seungmin thought the same and looked at Chan with worry in his eyes. "Hyung, are you sick?" the vocalist asked softly and Minho nodded, wondering the same.
Chan tried to smile at them, what didn't make the situation any better since his smile looked forced and somehow painful. "No, I'm not sick, don't worry."
They sat there in silence for a while. Minho focused on the road again and Seungmin and Jeongin started to chat silently again. Only Felix saw, how Chan went even paler and started to swallow more. His hyung closed his eyes and leant his head back.
Minho looked at Chan and Felix again, when Felix asked something that the other dancer couldn't understand. Chan nodded, wich made Felix eyes grow wide and he started to search something in his back. "Felix-ah, what's wrong?" Minho asked a bit confused. "Chan feels like he'll throw up." Felix answered, still taking things out of his back. Now Minho's eyes widened too and he looked to side of the road. But there was nothing where he could stop.
Jeongin and Seungmin heard what Felix said and looked at him. Seunmin was the first one who clicked back in action and started to search something too. After a few seconds, he pulled out a plastic bag and gave it to their leader. "Here Channie-hyung." he said and patted his arm a bit. The other vocalist found a bottle of water in his back-pack and and handed it to Felix, who sat closer to Chan than I.N himself.
Lee Know leaned over to Chan, who hesitantley looked at the plastic bag. "Channie, it's okay if you need to throw up. We won't judge you and we are all here for you, okay? Don't worry" he started to rub Chan's arm while trying to sooth him. "Yeah mate, it's completely fine. As Minho-hyung said, we won't judge you." Felix noted and smiled warmly at Chan.
Chan still didn't look that amused, but eventually took the plastic bag that Seungmin offered him.
Minho still rubbed their leader's arm. He felt sorry for him. The dancer knew how much trouble the Aussie had with throwing up, especially in front the maknae-line.
Jeongin, who watched their conversation in silent noticed how tensed his hyung's shoulder were. His heart felt like it would break a bit. Chan was holding back everything, just so no one would get uncomfortable. "Hyung, try to relax a bit, yeah? I don't want to sound mean, but I see that you need to throw up and you won't be able to stop that process. With holding it back you'll only hurt yourself more." Everyone was surprised that I.N spoke up, but Chan nodded and tried to relax more.
Not even a minute later, he felt hot liquid coming up his throat and he started to swallow it down again. Minhow watched him and decided to stop him from that. "Sweets, you'll only hurt yourself, please stop it." his voice was soft and full of empathy wich shocked the other members. They never heard Lee Know saying something like 'sweets' to someone. But they also knew that his heart wasn't made out of stone and apparently it worked, since Chan stopped to swallow that hard.
After another minute of silence suddenly Chann hunched forward with a gag and then started to heave. Felix jumped in action and started to rub Chan's arm, while trying to comfort him. But no matter how hard Chan retched, nothing came up. "Damn hyung, didn't you eat or drink anything today?" Seungmin asked shoked. Their leader just shook his head while he continuded to heave dryly. After a few more heaves, he managed to bring up some stomach acid wich made his throat burn and tears started to sting in his eyes. But he didn't get the time to start crying, since now his body decided to get everything up that was somehow left in his body. WIth a splattering noise a mix out of bile and stomach acid came up his throat.
"That's good sweets, let it all out" Minho shushed and Felix added: "you'll feel much better after getting rid of everything, I promise."
"Minho, you can pull over there" Jeongin pointed to a part of the road where a little way lead to a forest.
Minho nodded and pulled over slowly, so Chan wouldn't feel even more sick thanks to a sudden stop.
As soon as Minho stopped the car, Chan unbuckelt his seatbealt and opened the door. He stood up with a hand in front of his mouth and got out of the car. When he had walked away a few meters, he continued to retch in the grass. While Felix went after hie hyung, Minho gave introductions to the maknaes: "You both stay here for now. Chan-hyung won't feel better the more people stand around him, okay?" both nodded and with that Minho walked to Chan and Felix.
"Channie, can you please try to breathe?" Felix pleaded and looked at Chan with worry filled eyes. Chan for his side had started crying and looked like he wouldn't be able to stand much longer, "Lix, can I?" Minho pushed Felix gently away and positioned himself next to his hyung. "Channie sweetie, I'll help you sit down now, yeah?" the dancer carefully placed a hand around their leader's waist and pulled him to the ground. "Okay, great. Can you sit down on your knees? It will be more comfortable" even tho Minho doubted that Chan understood him, the Aussie indeed did what his dongsaeng asked him to. "Felix can you grap the water bottle and text Changbin that we'll be late?" the other dancer nodded and jogged back to the car.
"Now it's just you and me, so please relax. You won't bring anything up if you keep this tension." Minho tried to explain and started to rub slow circles over Chan's back. The leader nodded and relaxed a bit. But only for short, until he felt something coming up his throat. He hated that feeling. He just hated it! More tears stung in his eyes, but he knew that Minho was right.
"No Channie, don't push it back down, it won't help you." Chan nodded and tried to stop pushing the bile down. He opened his mouth and gagged. With the next retch a mix of bile and stomach acid rushed over his lips and he started to cough. "There you go sweets, just let it all out, it's completely fine, I promise." Minho started to comfort him again.
The process continued like that for a few minutes, until Chan was completely emty. "You see? Much better now" Lee Know said, when Felix came back with a water bottle. He had waited in the car until his hyung was done with throwing up, knowing it would only cause Chan to tension up again.
"Channie-hyung, can you drink a bit water?" Felix kneeled down in front of his pale friend, while avoiding the vomit. But Chan just burried his head in Minho's neck and muffeled a "no" in the dancer's hair. "C'mon mate, you don't have to drink it okay? Just rinse your mouth out."
After a bit convincing, their leader eventually took the bottle with a shaking hand and spat out the water again. "Do you think you're done?" Felix asked with his low voice, trying to keep his accent as hearable as possible. He knew that Chan felt more home then. Chan nodded. "Okay, Chan can I pick you up?" he got another nod back and to Minho's surprise, Felix lifted Chan up and koala-carried him to the car. "What did make you so sick anyway? Did you catch a stomach bug?" this time he earned a headshaking and a "carsick" in his neck. Seungmin who came walking towards them looked at his leader in shock. "Chan why didn't you say something?" the older just shrugged and burried his head even deeper in Felix shoulder.
Jeongin followed Seungmin and started stroking Chan's hair. "It's okay Channie-hyung, now we know. Where do you want to sit? is back or front better?" everyone was shoked by the maknae again, who normally didn't go closer to sick people than he had to. But in the end that was his hyung and he wasn't able to count all the times Chan was with him when he was sick. The Aussie mumbled something in English and Felix just said: "front".
The other Aussie carried Chan to his seat and buckelt the seatbelt. Minho came back too. He brought another plastic bag and the bottle of water. "Chan, do you think it's possible that you need to throw up again?" the leader shrugged. "Okay, so could you please drink something? If it stays in that is good and if not, then it will feel better than just bile and stomach acid." Chan hesitantely took a few sips of the water after giving it back to Minho.
The started to continue the drive home. "Only 30 minutes then we're home." Minho said quietly.
After 20 minutes, Chan started to grow restless again and I.N just handed him the plastic back. "It's okay Channie, just let it out remember?" Seungmin started rubbing the leader's arm.
This time Chan listened immediatly and started to heave a few times, until he threw up the few sips of water he had managed, mixed with bile. "I-I hate this. I'm so-rry guys." Chan was clearly too tired to figh the tears and he just started to sob. "Hey, it's not your fault: Don't blame yourself for something you can't control." Jeongin tried his best to calm their leader down, but he wouldn't listen. "That is d-disgusting. I'm dis-gusting, I'm sorry-y" "oh sweets that is not disgusting or gross and you aren't either. That is completely normal." Minho tried to support I.N and Felix added: "Yeah, don't say that about yourself!". Chan sniffeled a bit and then said: "I'm sorry you all had to-to see that" now Seungmin spoke up: "Channie-hyung, you were there for us when we were sick uncountable times. We are allowed to take care of you too!" the others nodded in agreement and Chan gave up arguing against them.
When they came home (with only one more time Chan throwing up), Changbin already waited for them. "Hey Channie, how are you?" Chan shrugged again and the rapper just took him out of the car and koala-carried him in the house, just like Felix did.
After helping him to make hisself ready, Changbin helped the others to get their stuff out of the car. But Jeongin and Seungmin went up to their leader. "Can we come in?" the maknae asked and after they got a "yes" they opened the door.
Chan layed in his bed, still a bit pale but he looked way better. he had a bucket next to his bed, just in case. "Can we stay here for the night, hyung?" Seungmin asked. Their leader looked at them. "You really want to stay here?" both nodded. "But it could be that I have to throw up again, since I still feel a bit... sick." "Even better if someone stays with you!" I.N said and layed down next to his hyung. Seungmin followed and they sandwiched Chan between them. "Sleep well hyung." was the last thing he heard, before he drifted into sleep.
