Tokyo Police Club Announce Farewell Tour Dates and Share Last Songs
In January, Tokyo Police Club announced their decision to disband following a final farewell tour. The Canadian group has now unveiled the details of this tour, which will conclude with four performances at Toronto's History. Find the tour dates listed below. Additionally, Tokyo Police Club has released their last two tracks, produced by Jesse Turnbull at Toronto's Taurus Recording. The songs, titled “Just a Scratch” and “Catch Me If You Can,” are available for listening below. Tokyo Police Club, comprising vocalist and bassist Dave Monks, guitarist and keyboardist Graham Wright, drummer Greg Alsop, and guitarist Josh Hook, was formed in Ontario in the mid-2000s. The band first caught attention with EPs like A Lesson in Crime and Smith, leading to their debut album, Elephant Shell, in 2008. They subsequently released three more albums: Champ in 2010, Forcefield in 2014, and TPC in 2018. Josh Hook reflected on the journey, saying, "We've been incredibly lucky and honored to share our music and to experience so many personal moments with our fans, from graduations and birthdays to onstage proposals. Seeing familiar faces from our early tours and connecting with so many over nearly two decades is a true privilege. This final tour is the ultimate retirement celebration we could have hoped for.

Northbound UP Manifest Train at Dexter, MO por Zach Pumphery Por Flickr: Once upon a time, the George Bush 41 Presidential Library and Museum Locomotive was used on revenue freight trains wearing its Air Force One inspired paint scheme. The engine sat stored almost constantly after 2009 at Jenks Shop in North Little Rock, shrouded in a tarp and lots of rumors. The most prevalent, and perhaps morbid, was that it would lead a funeral train for the mourning of the former President when he passed away. As it turned out, those rumors for the better part of a decade were true, and the locomotive led a funeral train carrying the former president's casket in full view through Texas from Spring to College Station on December 6, 2018, where Bush was laid to rest. After the funeral train the engine toured the system for displays with the baggage car that casket. It was then donated to the museum mentioned on the side of the unit a couple years later, where it's on public display, another rumor that came true. This was only the G. H. W. Bush Unit's 7th visit to Dexter since being unveiled about 2 years prior, and as far as I know it only came back through a couple times since. Once was after the funeral train when it toured the system on with UP 1943 Back in 2007, it departs the North Dexter Crew Change Point, appropriately at 0747 according to my camera's time stamp leading UP Train QDYAS 05 on the UP Chester Sub. I don't care what side you lean towards politically--this was a cool looking engine that I wish was still roaming around. Locomotives: UP 4141, UP 8588, UP 9283 10-7-07 Dexter, MO

Thank you for tagging me, @tuliharja! Your responses were absolute pleasure to read <3
01: Do you have a good relationship with your parents?
Ans. I've a brilliant relationship with my mother, and my father wants to kill me, so that's that.
02: Who did you last say “I love you” to?
Ans. My grandmother.
03: Do you regret anything?
Ans. Yes, horribly.
04: Are you insecure?
Ans. Somedays I am, somedays I'm not. Just like everyone else.
05: What is your relationship status?
Ans. I'm single and sometimes sleep deprived.
06: How do you want to die?
Ans. You know, I've experienced a lot of things that should have killed me, but I really said no♥️.
Okay, this one is going to be long, because I feel the need to overshare. In 2018, a person I know and his friends played a ""harmless"" prank on me , and I ended up drowning quite deep. You know those dramatic movies where everything looks slow-mo? Yeah, that's how it felt like. Anyhow, I got out somehow and a kind stranger pulled me up so I was pretty away from water. I always found that prank weird because they took away everyone including life guards, distracted my buddy, barricaded all the shallow areas, but maybe it was simply harmless.
I didn't swim since then, and I was planning to get over my fear this year, but well, 2020 happened.
But having experienced that, when I die of age 2357754367 years, I'd like to die by drowning. I really really do.
If not, an assassination will do. Just make sure it's for a good cause.
07: What did you last eat?
Ans. Gouda.
08: Played any sports?
Ans. Yes, basketball and tennis, mostly. Sometimes, shooting.
09: Do you bite your nails?
Ans. Well no but actually yes.
10: When was your last physical fight?
Ans. I don't remember. I'm more of a pacifist.
11: Do you like someone?
Ans. Do fictional people count?
12: Have you ever stayed up 48 hours?
Ans. Yes, unfortunately. Never again.
13: Do you hate anyone at the moment?
Ans. Hate is a pretty strong word, so I'll pass.
14: Do you miss someone?
Ans. Yes, terribly.
15: Have any pets?
Ans. I used to have two chicks, and my grandmother, till recently, had two Labradors.
16: How exactly are you feeling at the moment?
Ans. Melancholic.
17: Ever made out in the bathroom?
Ans. Yuck. Never have, never will.
18: Are you scared of spiders?
Ans. Absolutely not. I think they're adorable.
19: Would you go back in time if you were given the chance?
Ans. I've been reading too many isekai manga, so yes.
20: Where was the last place you snogged someone?
Ans. I've never kissed anyone in that sense of the word.
21: What are your plans for this weekend?
Ans. Give tests, study, and organize a bit.
22: Do you want to have kids? How many?
Ans. I'm an ace. But when I actually have the financial income for it, I'll like to foster some kids, get them great degrees, and send them an emergency fund. I feel as if not many people are talking about the things foster kids face, especially teens and once they age out of the system. I'll pull an evil scientist and clone myself, if a need for someone young with my gene arises.
23: Do you have piercings? How many?
Ans. My ears were pierced traditionally.
24: What is/are/were your best subject(s)?
Ans. Biology, Chemistry, Physics, History, Politics, Economics, Geography, Statistics and Languages.
25: Do you miss anyone from your past?
Ans. Yes.
26: What are you craving right now?
Ans. Something I cannot name, for I don't know. Probably water.
27: Have you ever broken someone’s heart?
Ans. No, none that I know of, and definitely not on purpose.
28: Have you ever been cheated on?
Ans. As I said, mich Asexual. I've not been in a romantic relationship.
29: Have you made a boyfriend/girlfriend cry?
Ans. See above.
30: What’s irritating you right now?
Ans. These extremely important exams that are coming in few months.
31: Does somebody love you?
Ans. Yes, and it baffles me so.
32: What is your favourite color?
Ans. Blood Red and Prussian Blue.
33: Do you have trust issues?
Ans. Maybe. Not extremely, but just a bit. Harmless enough to not need intervention.
34: Who/what was your last dream about?
Ans. Well, yesterday I had a dream that my favourite characters were there and I was loved, and day before yesterday (Ereyesterday, if you will) I was getting chased by two murderous, ghostly, serial killing cows. They got me in the end, I think.
35: Who was the last person you cried in front of?
Ans. I don't cry in front of people. I cry alone.
36: Do you give out second chances too easily?
Ans. Unfortunately, yes.
37: Is it easier to forgive or forget?
Ans. Mostly, it is easier to forgive. But that's not an absolute answer or argument.
38: Is this year the best year of your life?
Ans. Well, the fate of this year depends on those super-important exams.
39: How old were you when you had your first kiss?
Ans. I've been kissed before I could even walk, I think. If you are thinking in the other sense of the word: well, I've never been kissed that way.
40: Have you ever walked outside completely naked?
Ans. Once, into the ocean. I was six.
51: Favourite food?
Ans. Tomatoes and Bell peppers. Shakshuka, Kuleybyaka, Thukpa, pickles—you name it. I guess anything traditional/homemade. Anything really, I love food.
52: Do you believe everything happens for a reason?
Ans. Yes, it does.
53: What is the last thing you did before you went to bed last night?
Ans. I prayed.
54: Is cheating ever okay?
Ans. No, it isn't.
55: Are you mean?
Ans. Nope. Not until you hurt people.
56: How many people have you fist fought?
Ans. As in, actually fought and not practiced, yes? Around six, all in self defense.
57: Do you believe in true love?
Ans. Yes, but not in the way it is portrayed.
58: Favourite weather?
Ans. Cold, with loads of sunlight, Snowing or Thunderstorms—I love the rain.
59: Do you like the snow?
Ans. Yes!
60: Do you wanna get married?
Ans. No♥️
61: Is it cute when a boy/girl calls you baby?
Ans. No, it activates my fight-or-flight.
62: What makes you happy?
Ans. Stars, books, people being happy, the way you see a stranger's day getting better, winning/accomplishments/success, stationary, hugs, libraries, zoos—it doesn't take much, really.
63: Would you change your name?
Ans. I might. Not change it, but add more names to it.
64: Would it be hard to kiss the last person you kissed?
Ans. Nope, it was my mother. Not hard at all.
65: Your best friend of the opposite sex likes you, what do you do?
Ans. Tell them, as lovingly and kindly as I can, that I do not like them that way, that I'm not looking for a relationship, and that I'd rather be friends. Also tell them that I'll be the world's coolest winggirl ever, so....
66: Do you have a friend of the opposite sex who you can act your complete self around?
Ans. Yes.
67: Who was the last person of the opposite sex you talked to?
Ans. It was a classmate.
68: Who’s the last person you had a deep conversation with?
Ans. A family member.
69: Do you believe in soulmates?
Ans. Yes, but I don't believe anyone is "perfect" for you. You've got to work on your relationships, no matter what kind they are. Also, soulmates are not necessarily only one, and not necessarily romantic, or so I hope.
70: Is there anyone you would die for?
Ans. Yes, many. Without second thoughts or regrets.

Cori Bush triumphs in Missouri
The insurgent Justice Democrat Cori Bush has won a primary race in St Louis, MO, against Lacy Clay, the son of the cofounder of the Congressional Black Caucus. Between them, father and son Clay held the seat for more than 50 years.
https://theintercept.com/2020/08/05/cori-bush-lacy-clay-primary/
Bush is a perfect Justice Democrat: a young (44), working class (nurse), activist (she was a founder of the Ferguson uprising) candidate who got AOC's endorsement in 2018 and Sanders's in 2020, and outraised her opponent with small-dollar contributions.
Her platform planks include Medicare for All, the Green New Deal and defunding the police. She was backed by Sunrise and Matriarch,"a new organization that backs working-class women running for office."
And she was featured in Netflix's documentary about Justice Democrats, "Knock Down the House," alongside AOC, Tlaib, Pressley and Omar.
The victory is part of a wave of primary challenges to long-term incumbent Democrats who promoted finance-friendly policies including Eliot Engel and Dan Lipinski.
Clay was attacked by the Fight Corporate Monopolies dark money group for his role in killing Obama's Fiduciary Rule, which required financial advisors to act in their clients' interests. Now advisors can recommend products that will enrich them, rather than their clients.
Fight Corporate Monopolies is also backing a primary challenger against Mass Congressman Richie Neal, who cosponsored a bill protecting private equity funds that use "surprise billing" to gouge emergency room patients.
https://pluralistic.net/2020/07/13/youre-still-the-product/#richie-neal
Bush's victory was a squeaker, in part because of tepid support from AOC and other squad members who'd backed her in 2018.
Writing in The Intercept, Ryan Grim attributes this to concern among Justice Democrats that challenges to Congressional Black Caucus members - even when the challengers are also Black - are cast as racist.

Irritator challengeri
By José Carlos Cortés
Etymology: The One That Irritated
First Described By: Martill et al., 1996
Classification: Dinosauromorpha, Dinosauriformes, Dracohors, Dinosauria, Saurischia, Eusaurischia, Theropoda, Neotheropoda, Averostra, Tetanurae, Orionides, Megalosauroidea, Megalosauria, Spinosauridae, Spinosaurinae
Status: Extinct
Time and Place: Between 110 and 108 million years ago, in the Albian of the Early Cretaceous
Irritator is known from the Romualdo Member of the Santana Formation in Brazil
Physical Description: Irritator was a Spinosaurid, so the weird crocodile-mimicking theropods that roamed the Cretaceous landscape across the Southern hemisphere (and some of Europe). Irritator, however, is not known from very much material, despite having loads written about it. It was one of the smaller members of the Spinosaur group, only about 7.5 meters long and not weigh more than one tonne - which may actually indicate it could have still had some sort of fluffy integument, though this still seems unlikely based on its ecology. As a Spinosaur, Irritator would have been fairly bulky, with a long and vaguely crocodilian skull. Its skull also featured a long thin crest going from the midline to the eye, where it flattened into a bulge - this was probably some sort of display structure. Little is known of the rest of its skeleton, but it is known to have had a long and well-clawed hand. It probably had some sort of sail on its back, but it probably was a shorter one, and whether or not its legs were a normal size is unknown.
By Alexander Vieira, CC BY-SA 4.0 (Irritator is on the far right, in green)
Diet: Irritator would have mainly fed upon fish and other aquatic organisms.
Behavior: Irritator, being a Spinosaur, spent most of its time in the water, swimming about and searching for food. Since it was rather small, it would have been able to fit in smaller streams of water than most of its other relatives. Though, since it probably still had fairly decent legs, it also would have spent a good amount of time on the land, surveying the shore for food and seeking out prey. Its long snout would then be used to grab fish and other animals from the water, using the lightweight instrument to grab food it might not be able to reach otherwise. While swimming, it would be able to use that snout to reach even more food than before, ducking its head underwater or doing the reverse to hide from land sources of prey. Its very powerful neck muscles would have also been extremely helpful in grabbing and holding onto thrashing prey.
By Fred Wierum, CC BY 3.0
Irritator was probably warm-blooded, and used its sail more for display than for keeping warm. This display structure may have been able to change color based on blood circulation or environment in order to send different messages to other members of the species. The crest on the center of the snout also probably served similar features, for displaying to one another. It seems likely that Irritator, like most other dinosaurs, took care of its young; but there is no evidence either way to support that hypothesis.
By PaleoGeekSquared, CC BY 3.0
Ecosystem: Irritator lived in the Romualdo Environment of Brazil, which was a basin of lakes surrounded by rivers and other wetland environments, filled to the brim with a wide variety of plantlife. Nearby was the burgeoning Atlantic Ocean, making this a Spinosaur’s favorite place of all. Here there were a wide variety of early flowering plants like magnolias, seagrasses, and lilies - all of which were associated heavily with this aquatic environment. There were many types of ray-finned fish, which would have been the primary source of prey for Irritator, as well as lobe-finned fish which would have also been decent sources of food. Sharks seem to have been rare. There were plenty of turtles too, including one of the earliest sea turtles Santanachelys. This was the land of extreme pterosaurs, including Anhanguera, Arirpesaurus, Barbosania, Brasileodactylus, Cearadacytlus, Maaradactylus, Santanadactylus, Tapejara, Thalassodromeus, Tropeognathus, Tupuxuara, and Unwindia. There was also a Notosuchian, Araripesuchus. There were other dinosaurs there too - the compsognathid Mirischia and the Tyrannosauroid Santanaraptor, which would have mainly fed on small animal prey.
By Scott Reid
Other: Irritator was found as part of the illegal fossil trade, initially mistake for a pterosaur, then a maniraptoran, before being finally identified as a spinosaur. The confusion surrounding this fossil - and the fact that the snout had been artificially elongated by the fossil traders - lead to its name. Its position within the Spinosaurs is well supported, and it seems to have been at least somewhat closely related to Spinosaurus itself, rather than Baryonyx on the other end of the family tree.

Just above a scorching sonic fusion of alternative experimentation, metallic energy, and rock appeal, SAVAGE HANDS detail the trials and tribulations of addiction, deceit, depression, and heartbreak. The Maryland quintet, consisting of Michael Garrow [vocals], Justin Hein [guitar], Nathan O’Brien [guitar], Jayvon Green [bass], and Alex Gacek [drums]—paint poignant pictures without pulling any punches on their 2020 full-length debut, 'The Truth In Your Eyes'. “We worked really hard on trying to create memorable moments in each song,” says Michael. “The lyrics and melodies were the main focus. It was about doing something a little different. All of the stories on the record point towards truth and lies. If you look at someone, their eyes will often reveal the truth, even if they don’t say it. We tried to take some risks and really just strive to be us.” The metalcore-infused-alternative-rock outfit introduced a singular identity on the 2018 EP, 'Barely Alive'. The project quietly put up nearly 2 million total streams in less than a year as they attracted early praise from the likes of Alternative Press who claimed, “it’s the lyricism that channels the most emotion.” In between touring with the likes of WAGE WAR, PALISADES AND KUBLAI KHAN, they signed to SharpTone Records and began work on what would become 'The Truth In Your Eyes'. SAVAGE HANDS built a full studio at Michael’s place and recorded these eleven tracks alongside producer Andrew Baylis [MY ENEMIES & I, SYLAR]. Ultimately, SAVAGE HANDS present a whole new story for heavy music with heart-wrenching honesty.
