#fuck it's over#sad this series is ending on this note - absolutely adore it </3#l always thought ME5 would be their last chance but with EA's massive losses I think it was too much for them to brush off to investors#we won't be getting another DA game from Bioware and certainly nothing else unless the IP is bought/given to another studio#and if that happens it won't be for another decade plus#EA is trash but bioware is also at fault - don't let them get away with how they treat their staff by blanketing it with EA hate#“but at least me5 is in development!” what a tasteless thing to add to your statement on lay offs bioware#so many bad decisions made by higher ups -> anthem / cancelling joplin / laying off staff...but the people responsible don't get the boot#this studio doesn't value creatives or writers or their staff - i wish everyone the best of luck#the company culture of bioware and EA is fucked - you better give them their fucking severance unlike the last time#datv killed my interest in further dragon age/bioware games but this is just the end for the company in general + IP#looks like all those rumours about the edmonton studio closing are true? yikes#best of luck to everyone getting new jobs - that's never a fun thing and I hope they get stable positions soon

how it feels getting trapped in a sleep paralysis/false awakening loop for 40 minutes while trying to take a nap right before having to make a phone call
#this made less and less sense the more i worked on it and the more the memory faded#didn't see a demon or anything (couldn't open my eyes) but hallucinated for the first time ever someone?#presumed it was my friend or sibling or something someone who could feasibly get in my room#poking me in the ribs bc they thought it was funny (it was not)#was going to try to find an emoji or one of those meme faces but i don't think it would have worked as well#so hurrah first my art im posting exclusively to this blog#literally the ONLY thing in one of the loops that indicated it being a dream was where in the previous loop i moved my water bottle#and it was in the same place that i moved it into the previous loop#the fuckiest thing was i was trying to take deep breaths to not panic but i couldn't control my lungs or airways or anything#so it was a lot like when you surface from water and there's that vacuum and you try to suck in air#but there's nothing there so there's that massive disconnect of what you expect to what you feel and ofc that makes it worse#but also when i was trying to exhale and my body (on autopilot) was inhaling#that phone call went surprisingly well considering i was like only 40% sure it was even real#i'm like still only 60% this is real some of those loops were scarily realistic#yikes#i uh don't like this feeling#i really didn't like that#sleep paralysis#false awakening loop#eggsistential draws#my art#eggsistential speaks#tag rant

WHAT STORE REQUIRES YOU TO GIVE YOUR SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER TO AN ASSOCIATE WTF WTF WTF
I don't know how much I am allowed to say but at my last position, signing up for our credit card plan required you to give your social. That isn't weird. It's actually standard practice w credit cards.
The weird part to me is in that if you didn't have your physical card on you, a cashier can look you up in the system. As a cashier I just needed your full name, date of birth, address, and social. Which to me is entirely too much information for me, a minimum wage monkey, to just have rotating around my skull. There was no oversight on it at all, no 'I need to call my manager,' no taking it to management at all. I hit a button and you just need to give me all your personal information.
They treated it as 'Oh we make sure there's no fraud all our cashiers have to check the ID of the person purchasing,' but like. To me the bigger problem is that random worker can just. Have your personal data. And damn near all of it at that point. I'm pretty sure I could also use the backend of the system -- again as a random minimum wage monkey with no higher ranking whatsoever -- to look up people's info in the system.
