Heeyyyyy if you’re still doing AU’s, can I pretty please have some a Jamilton Swim AU (or any jamilton really, I don’t care)

~ I feel like Jefferson’s strength would be backstroke because of his powerful upper body muscles? Hamilton does something like butterfly because he’s lean and vicious.

~ Their rivalry dates all the way back to middle school. Jefferson went to a posh private school and Hamilton went to a public school in a low-income neighbourhood in the a neighbouring state, so they would go toe to toe first in regional competitions and then in nationals. (I obviously have no clue about how anything actually works, please indulge me here.) Basically Jefferson won gold over Hamilton once and was a total dick about it, and Hamilton has been fixated on beating him ever since. They’re pretty evenly matched, but Jefferson has the upper hand because of the top-noch training facilities and coaching he gets.

~ Here’s the kicker: they end up going to the same college, and suddenly they’re on the same swim team and constantly seeing each other in training. The coach only puts up with them relentlessly sassing each other because they’re the two most hardworking swimmers on the team. Jefferson is in it for the swimming (intends to make the Olympic team some day), while Alex goes to the college on a scholarship based on his swimming prestige and has his sights on other, bigger things in life. (This would combine pretty nicely with a dorm roommates AU, too.)

~ Four words: locker room sexual tension. They steal glances for months, neither making a move. One night when the pre-nationals stress is at its peak, they end up fighting about about something stupid after training. Eventually they realize that they’re both still in their boxers and everyone else has cleared out ages ago. Jefferson slams his palm into a locker next to Hamilton’s head and looks down at his flushed face with a raised eyebrow. (”So, we gonna do this or what?”)

~ So for the longest of time, it’s just sex. An outlet for the stress or for the frustrations of not making enough progress, whatever excuse they feel like slapping on it at any time. Alex comes in fourth in a big competition and Jefferson finds him sobbing in a bathroom. Until that moment he’d kind of assumed that swimming was just an outlet for Alexander’s competitiveness (one of the reasons he kinda resents the guy), but this is where he finds out that the entire weight of Alexander’s future rests on his success in swimming. Thomas’ shoulder gets fucked up later in the season due to excessive training and Alex is the only person who doesn’t pity or condescend him. That’s when Emotions™ start to make a gradual appearance.
