Sometimes, you questioned why he would want to be in the army in the first place, fighting a war that he has no fault in. How could he just leave you?

You’d thought it would get easier to live with after you got married. Turned out, it wasn’t.

John called out for you and spotted you by the window where he’d caught you staring out of just before you moved away to hide. He read your resistance right off the bat.

“Hey, honey” he smiled as he set his army green bag on the floor in the hallway. “Don’t I get a kiss huh?”He tried to joke to loosen you up.

There was definitely tension in the air that he’d detected even before walking in, but he wanted to avoid conflict on his first day home. “That wasn’t my fault! We got ambushed by an IED in the middle of nowhere. We lost the RV and had to trek through the goddamn desert. You think I wanted that happen?!”

“Then you shouldn’t have relisted! I just don’t get it! Why would you want to go back to that?!”

“You don’t have to get anything! You’re acting like this is all new to you! You knew I was in the Army before, that it wouldn’t change when we got married!”

“Maybe I’d hope it would! So crucify me for thinking that maybe my husband would want to actually be home with me after getting married!”

Your argument only escalated after that. John was angry and you were furious. A blur of loud voices, searing tears and fists pounding on walls and countertops. At some point, he had decided to blow off some steam and slammed the front door shut as he left to have a drink at the bar. He didn’t want to get drunk or talk to anybody. He just wanted to get out of there before you’d both said things that couldn’t be taken back.

Sat on a tall stool with a beer bottle cradled in his hands, he stared into nothingness wanting to forget everything. However, his mind found itself returning to you. You could hear the tinge of impatience in his voice. He sat at the edge of his side on the bed to untie his boots and set them aside with a thud muffled by the carpet.

“You can sleep on the couch if you want, but I’m sleeping right here.”

What's your least favourite scenes/section in each Milgram song?

My least? This has been really hard to answer. If I had to go off the top of my head. I'm going do this counting down.

Harrow

I don't think I should say it's my least favorite scene for suck a nitpicky reasons but I hate in Harrow when Kotoko rushes in the door. It was always obvious that she'd changed clothes to me which made it appear like she left and came back. Which annoyed me because it implies she saw that happened did nothing and came back later.

Which is meant to be the implication more than likely. But she could have called someone or helped immediately. Which always kind of bothered me.

Deep Cover

Is it rude to say I don't like the vulnerable parts of Deep Cover? Like the façade slip and the breaks in the voice. Near the end especially. They sound pretty human and disquieting. So, it's a bit nerve wracking especially since they happen when you can't really see much of what's going on.

So it gives off this scary feeling of knowing something has gone wrong but not what yet. It's really unsettling and the exact opposite sound wise of how Cat ends.

She always sounds so panicked and stressed it makes me feel bad. Especially on the last line.

Then I remember the clothes things from Harrow and was like girl just missed her good shoes too much. Sorry trying to lighten the mood after that.

MeMe

Now you would think I have no complaints about MeMe. Which they are very little but I still have them. I know it's meant to obscure things but the jump cuts are a bit jarring and the texts on the tarot cards isn't fitted correctly. Which is a design flaw on Mikoto's part that I hold against him every day. Like the words are fucking covered by the border of the card and it's sooo fucking annoying to me.

The text great the two stars on the border itself amazing. The tilt on the text fantastic. Where this text is fucking positioned is obnoxious.

Fuck him for this on some real shit. Like I know what they are but still. Also while I'm here I don't like that his shirt is tucked in here either.

Like you're wearing jogging pants I see the strings why are you like this. What is the shirt tucked in here it's a t-shirt. Who asked you to do this. This can't feel nice. Like I know it was probably to keep mess off or soemthing. But damn man it just looks uncomfortable for some reason I can feel it.

I feel like a lot of what I'm going to say here is going to speak volumes about me- But another thing. Using the red bull can as an ashtray- God, I hated having to throw away cans that are already sticky that have cigarettes in them and that is right on your tub.

Magic

I don't like Magic all that much in general. People will be surprised to be reminded I voted Amane Guilty trial one in fact she's the first character in this series I voted on. It was simply due to the mindset she espoused in her voice drama. Of teaching her religion in the prison. Not because I thought she would change her mind or anything.

So I don't even regret that decision. Her first music video didn't help with this problem I showed it to my dad and he literally said "She reminds me of you at that age innocent." me sitting there that's exactly why I voted her guilty. Not on some I hate my child self way or anything but because I was pretty certain she wouldn't change her mind so the only thing to be done was go yeah no I'm not agreeing to that thing in the voice drama.

Then Kotoko's deal was agreed to when I was still not really voting like that and I thought well fuck it. Since we're just letting people do anything here anyhow. People tend to misjudge and think I switched my verdict because of the abuse but it was pretty clear Amane was abused from her first song to me.

As someone who has experienced childhood abuse and neglect I was pretty certain it was a fucked either way situation. Still am they said she wouldn't be dangerous not that she still wouldn't be teaching her religion. I mean she literally said that was her plan in her first voice drama and never moved away from that.

As soon as she was like well I fucking did it anyway already I was like whelp um that was my only complaint. Didn't want to agree with that but since you're doing it anyway I'll just judge based on the crime. You do you little lady.

But yeah no all of Magic is rather ahn. It's just nice I'm not particularly passionate about it any which way. Definitely not enough to say what a least favorite scene would be.

I guess I'd have to say the end because it's never really followed up on in Purge March. Because it cuts and shows Amane watching a television. It's implied that she's watching a tv show probably the one with the mascots she likes. But we never get to see where the tv is or her room in Purge March. So I was kind of disappointed by that.

Purge March

I don't like what happened to the cat. Even though it's just alluded to. Also for as much as I like Amane this video features my dreaded nemesis balloons and a lot of them. So those always kind of bother me. Girl has big socks-

Half

Can I just say I don't like this whole video aesthetically. I actually like this song. Yet Kazui's movement are so overemphasized and dramatic looking back on it now. Most of the exaggeration is done for misdirection purposes but ultimately I feel like Half gives a very reduced version of events. It's the story made for the stage straight forward, clear cut, simple.

A lot of the best parts of Half don't lie in the visuals but the sound.

Cat

I don't like when his victim falls off the balcony. Look I know some of these are like very on the nose. Yet, she learned something really upsetting then she died. I think that kind of sucks. Also someone else watched her die. So someone is literally implied to have seen her fall.

Which is most definitely a thing to witness. Sucks to be those two people.

This Is How To Be In Love With You

Least favorite part... It's all really good I'm sorry. Despite how critical I can be in analysis and how much I dislike some of her actions. i really like how earnest Mahiru is with her feelings and her first trial song really highlights that. It's just really fun and cute all the way up to the end.

I Love You

I think there's a running pattern of me just not liking to see people suffering. Because even though when her significant other is begging on the ground still gets a emotional response from even now just as much as it did the day it came out. It's still very oh no that's bad.

Know what's worse the useless fucking carousel scene that's just there to obscure other information or pad out the visuals. If it was other information we'll probably never see it now.

Best scene sound wise is Mahiru saying "Die" in straight English and how they worked all the lyrics to lead up to that having the hardest emphasis it could.

Throw Down

Least favorite in throw down the eating of the pomegranate. ultimately it wasn't followed up on yet and probably won't be followed up on now.

Though given it is the fruit of the underworld I would hazard a guess and say he was eating a fresh one in Throw Down that eventually dried up in reference to his family. It's also shown broken up into three pieces later when it's dried.

Wife and two children. Pomegranate is also one of the man things he eats with his family so ultimately this could just be alluding to them being dead. This is followed up on with more wilting flowers and cut up fruit in Triage.

Representing his incessant taking and wastefulness to fulfill a goal long impossible. One he knew was fruitless and admitted was such.

Which was probably why he wrote his family structure as wife and two children than crossed it out and before he died started talking like he still had a family to Kazui and Mahiru. Since the last scene of Triage is literally them alive.

So, honestly asking,

Whose lives was he saying needed safeguarding again?

"That’s right, there are lives that need safeguarding."

Many people gave him the benefit of the doubt and asserted it was the prisoners. Even though they show up visually in other songs or are directly referenced in lyrics. But that wasn't done with Shidou for any of the victims of the attacks. I mean he made a reference to Kotoko the attacker. With the,

"In that case, give me the chance to make amends. To extract that fang, now."

In fact the main lives that he was shown trying to save over and over throughout Triage was that of his family. He only pulls the gloves on again after seeing them there not vanishing. After convincing himself like maybe this time it will be possible.

So I guess that's not my least favorite now since it makes some sense when thought on a little more. Then yeah no problems here either.

Triage

The two Shidou's. Like what was up with that? We'll probably never know now.

There is no explanation for this I hate it. It could be symbolic we see this scene happen like he gets up from a sitting positioning to do this. I don't know why it would be laid out like this. Like this scene happens in sequential order. It's just played straight.

So like I don't even know.

After Pain

It's a bit whiny and self-pitying. At least that was my first thought watching it. It still sort of is and feels more performative now. I think the scene that annoys me the most in hindsight is the bathroom one where Mu is being bullied and there's water all around her but she is bone dry. Because it's just soo in the audiences faces about it but just gets overlooked.

It's Not My Fault

It's very self-congratulatory like for seemingly no reason. It's very dystopian too. Like seeing Mu and her friends prance and dance around on the shattered remains of the other members of their group is very chilling but then there's this peppy song in the back.

I don't have any least favorite scenes here this one just always gets to me. The song and it's video were very Mu and I liked it a lot. Falls under the category of This Is How To Be in Love With You she was being so honestly herself I enjoyed it a lot.

Bring It On

Hmmm I don't really like most of the complaints Futa had about school and the arcade. It was all rather uppity. He seems like someone who talks a lot but does very little. Either because he doesn't know where to start or because he's worried about being just as bad. The atmosphere for Bring It On is boisterous and self-congratulatory even though nothing has really been fixed or saved at all.

It's a lot of fun.

Backdraft

Mmmm I don't have many least favoirtie scene options for this. It was rather solid. I'd complain about the two Futa's thing but we may get an answer for that at least. Plus there was more foreshadowing for that than like with Shidou. That shit was kind of out of nowhere there. I hope more prisoners get bold enough to just put Es in their videos visually like what was done here.

I guess I wish Futa's music videos had a bit more dynamic movement. They can meander a bit and his motions are usually stiffer than other prisoners. Like he's always a bit rigid. Though it's cool how all the character move in ways unique to them.

Umbilical

I still don't like balloons. One was popped right next to my ear on a car ride while I was asleep. By someone who is honestly a bit of a jerk. Though I like the designs of the balloons here a bit more it's still a bit of an issue. The bigger one is Yuno's job looks like a lot of emotional labor. Seems tiring. Still she presents as very professional.

I have no problem with this scene I just think it's really neat attention to detail that they showed the balloon Yuno was aiming for had a red ribbon not yellow.

Tear Drop

Ha, ha she's very pretty and incredibly mean. My favorite combination. I liked Yuno in Umbilical because everything she sung was so multifaceted. But in Tear Drop she's drop the pretenses and has just decided to say things straight. It is very fun. She's completely over this. Least favorite scene is when she is getting really upset before throwing the glasses.

Repeating the chorus in a whipser,

"Don’t weigh me measure me against your morality. Just shut it will you, you know it all. Feeling magnanimous? INNOCENT? I’m so not that Just shut it will you, you know it all."

Because it reminds me that no matter how responsibile or put together any woman young adult or pretty deep into adulthood. There are still a lot of people who won't take what they say about their own lives seriously if it doesn't align with what the listener wants to hear. And the infantilization woman face that is usually dressed up as concern for them.

It's really upsetting because I can understand the frustration.

Weakness

Puppy no, girl no, other child with a distinct shadow from the girl and blood on the floor-

HUH???

This is either foreshadowing Haruka's possible death within Milgram or just literally a different kill. Don't know which. But like what the fuck? Because we see in Weakness there's no blood near the girl and she is in fact shown to killed outside through strangulation.

Yet for some reason Weakness tries to act like the inside door opening being caught scene involves here here too. Then later just shows a completely different person who looks like Haruka being killed.

But he also says,

Q.07 Tell us your family structure.

Haruka: My father and my mother and me.

So I kind of doubt he has a sibling and he said he was right to kill her in his second voice drama. There was no mention of a him.

"But it turns out I wasn't wrong after all! It wasn't wrong of me to kill her!"

So really don't know what this is about here. But he also goes from looking like his child hold self to himself now in All Knowing All Agony. So, I'm willing to say he is just like this.

Mercs' Pokémon Team Relist

So, I made a list of Mercs’ Pokémon team back in June. But now, I’m going to do it again as a relist, which means changing the Pokémon from the Mercs’ Pokémon party team because it doesn’t feel right to me or something. All mercs’ have Eeveeutions as their partner, we’ll start with the offensive class, defensive class, and finally support class.

I sometimes buy adopts from ych commishes and theres this artist on there who occasionally makes designs i like and 3 months ago i was able to buy one after a brief bid war with someone. I genuinely like this design and I do use it in writing, art, and rps and by now this oc has a nice amount of art and a few bits of writing in the library, like, it is very clear this oc is well loved and used regularly.

Two months ago a new th user pmed me BEGGING to buy this oc, like, offering double what I bought the oc for and everything and when I said no they offered me 300$ for the oc, an oc I bought for 27$.

Turns out this dude owns all but three of this artists designs and he intends to own all of them and he made a th account literally just so he could contact me and buy the oc from me. I want to note, while the auction number on ych is not super accurate because of relistings and general bugginess, the artist he collects designs from has 437 auctions and i did check roughly 20 of them and yea he has the winning bid on the ones i checked.

Eventually I told him I did not plan to ever sell the character and asked that he please be respectful of this... He decided to then tell me he hopes I kill myself so that he can take the OC. I ended up reporting him and it seemed he got banned cause his account got closed. But then maybe a week later he pops up on a new account to just further harass me over this oc, to which I promptly block and report him. And then he pops up again, i block and report him, and it keeps happening and has continued to happen. I'm extremely tempted to just private the oc and then tell him I sold it to someone else anonymously.

It sounds like this person is very unwell and I am surprised that the artist is allowing him to continue buying their designs.

I am relisting to SAYER and you should see my face during episode 67 lmao. That conversation with Dr. Young is so painful to listen to. I can't stop cringing.

Specially after hearing the convo SAYER had with Dr. Brady last episode, where he was able to immediately tell SAYER was pissed off and efficiently located what the problem was, and even made an effort to placate it. Compared to that level of competence, Dr. Young seems to be making every effort to get himself "accidentally" killed. It is insane to me that this man will later be put in charge of gauging SAYER's "state of mind" so to speak. He threatens it constantly, which seems to be - amazingly - mostly on accident (excluding some specific instances). He does not seem to even realize he's doing it half the time; and there's like, a 30% chance of him being able to tell SAYER is threatening him back during any given interaction between the two.

Insult the AI that regulates almost every single thing about your continued existence at your own risk, I guess.

Bit of context: I'm playing a homebrew DND campaign that's being run by my oldest brother, and in this campaign he has this character named Ozmus who (from my understanding) is this sort of "Robin Hood"-like character who does crimes, like thief, against the rich and powerful of the kingdom to give the money from those crimes to the people who live in the same area, of the first kingdom we visited in the campaign, he did. And there's this song that my brother had when introducing him:

So here's my new SPR OC that is for now just for The World Below(because this OC is a part of my original species for SPR and the Paintonians nor AT haven't been shown in my continuation au yet, so it wouldn't make sense to add this character in yet).

This is Ox, named after those paint brushes that have bristles made of Ox hair.

He is the Ex-jester of the Paintonian Queen. From before the revolution back at their home planet against the species that made them(with outside provided blueprints as a foundation), during the in-between period of Paintonians being space nomads, and before the Paintonians got taken over by Altuo Tenwor, He was the one to bring joy to his people and queen during the hard times. With him being alive during those events, it makes him about 900 years old(Paintonians live about 2000 years sense they are pretty much cyborg android aliens, which I would imagine that being shorter than species like Harmonians, Crevons, and certain box creatures, yet way longer than the other species like Robloxians).

After he saw his people and queen be put back into the same situation as they were in back at their original planet, he fought back before he could become just like the rest of his people under AT's control and new code, canceling any update notifications he gets from the Paintonian factories(where Paintonians are built) because he knows AT has a hold of those factories and modified the updates. So he isn't as advanced as the normal Paintonian, but that's common with Paintonians that aren't under AT's control. He is currently trying to get his people, along with some supporter, to break free of the "chains" that were put back on them.

I would imagine in The World Below, The main three would first find him trying to rally up some people at a bar, and could probably be a good asset to the main three to trying to get their stuff back and get back to Cover. Because I got a little idea for AT with the Void Star in the works. Maybe Ox could have a little side plot with Base Cleph, Tretone, and Ridge, because; Base Cleph does have some blood "connection" to AT that may help Ox, Ox can sympathize with Tretone's current in the story with something I'm not saying yet because of spoilers(but is has to do with the other Wish Titan, not AT) and may want to help Tretone out of it in exchange for support, and also Ox and Ridge are both Paintonians that had their lifes effected by AT in some way so yeah

Also yes his ax is a sharpened paint pallet on a pencil.

Cadet Worf Found Elsewhere; Greta and Herman Still At Large

When did I see that action figure last? The last time a picture of Greta was on this website was almost three years ago. One year ago, I was considering some AFB elements to be used in another video, and this may very well have been the last time that action figure was in my sights, but still...

If nothing else fails, there is a second Cadet Howard action figure. I got it with... I believe... my Galoob Data. It looks a little dingy, though I'd just say she had a tan from sticking her head in the warp core (in-joke). I also have a second Generations Data, though I would prefer to keep that action figure as is, since he was part of a lot consisting of all the 4.5 inch Generations action figures. I think if I had to go that far to replace Herman, Herman wouldn't be a Data action figure.

I don't remember actually doing anything with the Greta action figure last year. I was just going to reuse some of her dialogue, though she is presumed to be there, in those scenes but sight unseen.

Every so often, I'll go on these hunts for something that's missing and it can be distressing and harmful to the tidiness of the house, but might also make for good exercise, I dunno. It can also be an odd trip through time, as sometimes, you dig into boxes that are very era specific. I wrote about that a little in the last few entries.

Did I ever tell the tale of-- not really a story, actually. I have good luck with online orders, and this was one of the quite rare moments where something just didn't show up. One of those somethings- and I can only remember four times in almost twenty years where something simply didn't show up- was the first Greta action figure I ordered. The updates suggested it was picked up at the post office, or was it that the label was created? I wonder if I still have the e-mail?

I do. I was looking for the tracking number. I have it! No, I'm actually- I mean, I do, but I wrote that it was picked up. Nope. The label was made, and then nothing happened. After 3 weeks, I contacted them, and they were quick to concede the notion that it had been stolen, and gave me a refund. I think they misplaced the action figure or just forgot to actually mail it off. I didn't see them relist it, and, like I said, I got a quick refund, which was used to go get another action figure. This is why some of the earliest images of the idea of this group of cadet action figures being something non-Star Trek omits Greta- she wasn't there. It reminds me of those early TNG promotional photo shoots and Worf is nowhere to be found. They were still unsure if they wanted a Klingon in the main cast. In another world, was Worf just a one-off? The captain had to get on him quite a bit in that episode, "Do you intend to blast a hole in the viewer?", made him look like a dipshit. Maybe he would have been an O'Brien like character, I doubt they would want that Klingon forehead stuff to go to waste.

It's not a big deal, BUT every action figure is unique- they're always painted just a little bit differently, different choices made. Some Datas have brown eye brows, some seem to be black, and some are silver. Sometimes, your Kirks are squinty, other times they look fat-headed. Their eyes are doing something different, which goes a long ways toward giving an action figure automatic personality. I have two 80s TNG Datas. One looks pretty mellow, if not spaced out. He got the season 2 pelt. The other looks like a Lore action figure, oddly enough, just looks mean and evil.

While I don't think there's anything exceptionally remarkable about the action figure used for Greta, under slightly different circumstances, "Greta" would have a little bit different personality in the face, and one could very well have had some unseen influence on Rachael's performance. I do recall letting the actors play around with the action figures they were voicing just to see if it inspired something.

I'm running out of places to look for those two action figures. I'd love if if they were somewhere so close to me right now, they could bite me. I'm kind of hoping I'm just a dumbass and they're in a really obvious spot.

When it was originally listed like a year or so ago, I was constantly watching Bethesdas online store for any merch I could get relating specifically to FO4 most times. (They need to bring back the Railroad + Minuteman flag btw. I lost my MM one and I want the Railroad one too so. Bring them back pls). Anyway. They had this on sale at some point and I was finally able to get it! After like. Months of wanting it!! And so I bought it. Waited. And then they cancelled my order! Because they "ran out" or some shit. Like. Bruh?? You posted the listing!! How do u not know how many you have?! Don't list it if it's not available?!? ANYWAY. My wonderful and lovely boyfriend was so. Amazing. He spent hours talking to like. Etsy shop type ppl. People who specifically made leather bags and the sort! He wanted to commission someone to essentially remake the bag for me. Because he knew I wanted it so bad. And he wasn't able to! No one could do it for whatever reason (I get it, probably gotta be careful with stuff like that). But recently, it was relisted on the website. I didn't even know! I had stopped watching the website after this occurred 😭 . Anyway he got it for me and it actually came and it's even better than I had expected it to be and I just love him so much. For the first time in nearly a year, the former chair of Health P.E.I.'s board has criticized the state of the province's healthcare system and challenged the current health minister on recruitment efforts. Derek Key stepped down from the health agency's board in December 2022, citing multiple failures in the government's efforts to foster quality health care on the Island.

On Thursday night, the Summerside lawyer stood to speak at a packed town hall meeting held to let residents and healthcare workers express concerns about recent cuts to services at Prince County Hospital.

McLane had just finished replying to an assertion from the town hall's moderator, Prince County Hospital Foundation vice-president Derek Bondt, that physicians and medical school students aren't receiving a response when they contact Health P.E.I. recruiters about their desire to work on the Island.

The health minister said he had been told of 16 instances like that during his eight months in the job of not hearing back from a recruiter.

He said he personally followed up on 15 of those cases and asked anyone in the crowd who knew of a similar issue to contact him directly.

But Key begged to differ. He took the microphone to a big round of applause from the hundreds of people gathered in Credit Union Place for the town hall. He said he had received an email just three days earlier from a third-year medical school student from the Island. Key said he asked the student if he'd been contacted by a recruiter about working in his home province.

CBC News has not seen the email Key was quoting. He declined a request for an interview following the meeting. Key told the crowd that the student went on to write that it's been frustrating as well for three other classmates, also from the Island, when it came to dealing with Health P.E.I. recruiters.

He said the student also wrote of not getting a reply to a question about a housing subsidy during a required training rotation on P.E.I., although other Atlantic provinces do provide such help to medical students whose seats they have sponsored.

McLane said he would look into the issue and try to figure out where people are falling through the cracks in the recruitment process.

Back in February 2023, Key told a legislative committee that the planning and decision-making around health care on the Island was being done by the government — out of the hands of Health P.E.I. He also said there were too many hurdles when it came to hiring staff and making necessary changes.

A small group of landlords who own hundreds of rental properties across the province have run out of money, owe over $144 million in unpaid loans, and face dozens of lawsuits from creditors, according to documents filed with the Ontario Superior Court of Justice. Dylan Suitor, Ryan Molony, and Aruba Butt are behind 11 now-insolvent corporations that face a "liquidity crisis" with only $100,000 in the bank, the documents say.

The three received court-ordered protection under the Companies Creditors Arrangement Act (CCAA) from over 300 lenders until the end of March 2024, wrote Justice Jessica Kimmel in her decision this week.

Also known as bankruptcy protection, it means any legal action taken by lenders to recoup their money has been paused so the landlords can attempt to save their business. Documents say 32 lawsuits are currently filed against the corporations in courthouses across Ontario. The landlords and their corporations are based in the Hamilton area but specialize in buying, renovating, and, in some cases, relisting "distressed residential real estate in undervalued markets," said a court factum.

Those markets are in Timmins, Sault Ste. Marie and Sudbury, as well as smaller communities, including Kirkland Lake, Temiskaming Shores, and Val Caron. The landlords currently own 406 properties where 1,000 tenants live, making them "one of the largest holders of residential real estate in Ontario," Kimmel wrote.

Suitor is a Hamilton investor who made headlines last year for shutting off tenants' water for nearly three months at 1083 Main St. E. after a pipe burst. At the same time, he was trying to evict them through the Landlord and Tenant Board to renovate their units, which is an ongoing process, lawyers representing the tenants have said.

The corporation that owns the building — which sits across from Hamilton's picturesque Gage Park — is not among those in financial trouble that require creditor protection.

Suitor is also a Realtor with over 200,000 followers on Instagram, where he shares business advice as a "self-made" entrepreneur and real estate investor. Last August, Suitor hosted a "Business Results Training Seminar" in Burlington, Ont., promising attendees would learn to grow their business up to 150 percent over 12 months, according to his social media posts.

Butt is a director of some of the corporations under creditor protection, which own dozens of properties in Sault Ste. Marie. Molony is president of SID Developments, according to the website of the company, which provides renovation and management services to the corporations.

SID Developments was founded by Robert "Robby" Clark, a former child actor known for his starring role in The Zack Files. Clark described the corporations' unraveling in an affidavit filed in court.

Their efforts were "hampered" by the Bank of Canada's interest rate hikes beginning in March 2022 and falling home prices. They ran out of money to finish renovating some units, which now sit empty, and represent $350,000 a month in lost revenue, Clark said. More than 200 of the 631 rental units they own are currently empty, documents show.

With the creditor protection order, the landlords have access to a $12-million loan to pay for the cost of the court proceedings and complete renovations. They'll also pursue "comprehensive refinancing or restructuring" and a "consensual plan of compromise" with lenders to continue operations. Filing for creditor protection is often used as "a very last resort" for companies on the brink of bankruptcy, said lawyer Karen Fellowes, based in Calgary and Vancouver, who specializes in restructuring and insolvency and is not involved in this case.

Other times, companies use it strategically if they predict a looming "liquidation crisis" and need to restructure over several months, she said.

Whether the landlords will be successful in saving their business depends on whether the 300 lenders agree to support them, Fellowes said. They will likely get an extension for creditor protection and try to sell some properties, she added. Tenants have rights that would allow them to stay in their homes even if there's a new owner unless lenders want the units vacated and it's ordered by the court, Fellowes said.

For tenants living in properties not part of the proceedings, like the one at 1083 Main St. E. in Hamilton, it's unlikely those buildings would be directly impacted as they're owned by other corporations, she said. Real estate investors often try to "limit liability" by creating multiple corporations.

I bought myself a Xmas present

This Kid Kore guy has been listed and relisted for at least a month now. Clearly the seller took seriously eBay's hinting and coaxing that a 99-cent opening bid would spark a bidding war.

I'd initially hesitated on him because I was planning to rebody Manbun Ken with articulation and wanted to have guys be articulated. But I'm not thrilled with my articulation options, and it'd be cool to have a Kid Kore dude to go with my burgeoning Kid Kore community. The price was very much right.

After buying him, it occurred to me that a titian-haired nude gladiator* would have been a good brother for Kelsey and Ben. The titian-haired dude usually lists in the $10 range nude, which made him easier to turn down. I think this guy gets to be the brother to either Teen Skipper or Teen Fun Lacey, depending how he seems to fit in. Manbun Ken will be relieved to have some dude support.

Bitcoin’s price increased by a little less than 1% in the past seven days. The week was, overall, positive for the industry as the total market capitalization approaches the $1.1 trillion cap. The biggest news of the week is undoubtedly the US FOMC meeting that happened on Wednesday. According to the official announcement, the central bank took the decision to maintain the target range for the federal fund rate at 5-1/4 to 5/12 percent. The statement also noted that job gains have slowed but also that they remain elevated altogether. The unemployment rate in the country is also reported as low, while the inflation remains above its target. Bitcoin’s price didn’t react to the news and remained flat. All in all, it couldn’t initiate a leg-up, although it did try to poak above $27K on a few occasions. Every time the price increased above that level, though, bears were quick to intercept and push it back down. Some altcoins saw action. Namely, this week’s top performer was Toncoin (TON). It’s up a whopping 17% in a market where the second-best performer is up 3.7%. This is Ripple’s XRP. Interestingly enough, for XRP, it also became the most-traded altcoin across US-based exchanges. This is a very curious fact, given that most of them had delisted it until July when a Judge ruled that secondary XRP sales are not securities. This is when Coinbase, amongst a bunch of other exchanges, re-listed it, and the volumes skyrocketed. All in all, the week was exciting, but Bitcoin failed to capitalize on the momentum and is trading more or less where it was this time last week. It’s curious to see if the next seven days will be any different. Eurovision 2023: Airbnb host tried to increase rent from £465 to over £2,000

Airbnb hosts in Liverpool are being warned not to try to hike prices on stays already booked ahead of the Eurovision Song Contest.

Roy Henry said his host tried to raise the price from £465 to £2,046 when they realised his stay was for the event.

Airbnb said it had “zero tolerance for this behaviour” and was taking action to stop hosts cancelling bookings and relisting at a higher price.

Liverpool is expecting an extra 150,000 visitors during Eurovision.

All tickets have sold out for the two semis and grand final of the international music competition from 9 to 13 May.

With only 84 hotels in the city centre, Airbnb partnered with Visit Liverpool to encourage more people to list their properties to help cope with the massive influx of visitors.

But both organisations said they were concerned about “price gouging”, where prices are increased to levels much higher than what is considered reasonable or fair.

‘An unpleasant experience’

After securing his tickets Mr Henry, who lives in London, booked an apartment in the city for five nights “for a steal” at £456.

But a day later he received an email from the host who asked him to cancel the booking so the price could be amended to £2,046.

“It was unbelievable,” said Mr Henry. “If the host said, look, I made a genuine mistake, can I increase it by a small amount, say £50 a night, I would have been fine with that.

“But my mortgage in London is less a month than what people are being expected to pay for a few days.”

Airbnb has since allowed Mr Henry to cancel his stay and is helping him to cover the costs of finding alternative accommodation. Airbnb said his host is not allowed to relist the property for Eurovision.

In a statement it said: “We take a range of actions to deter host cancellations, including applying fees, penalties and blocking Hosts from accepting a new booking for the same dates.

“The average price per night of a booked stay during Eurovision is £260, providing affordable accommodation for guests and helping local families boost their income.”

Airbnb said it had seen an increase in people listing their properties since Liverpool was announced as the Eurovision host city because it would be “an economic lifeline for many battling rising living costs”.

The city is used to hosting large events but Chris Brown, director of Marketing Liverpool, said Eurovision was “probably the biggest, high-impact, high-profile event we’ve ever had”.

“The area we have a problem with is landlords and private bookings, we have no ability to regulate them. Our advice is: If it’s expensive, don’t buy it,” Mr Brown said.

‘Hotel prices going beserk’

But Simon Bennett, secretary of the Eurovision Fan Club OGAE UK, said “everybody needs to take a deep breath”.

Hotel prices were stabilising at around £200 to £300 per night after going “berserk” when Liverpool was first announced as the host city and people made precautionary bookings, he said.

Many fans had simply booked accommodation elsewhere, in nearby Manchester, Warrington or Southport and would drive or take public transport, the 59-year-old added.

“Prices are starting to settle because not everyone got tickets,” he said.

Delegates from the participating countries, broadcasting media and associated organisations are all now accommodated and city hotels are releasing any remaining availability, but weekends are sold out.

Vacation rental data analytics company AirDNA said the median rate for available properties for the night of the final was nearly £1,000. It said many will have to reduce their rates as the competition nears.

Booking.com is listing a two-bedroom apartment in the city centre for the five days of the contest for £8,145. The following week it is available for £2,218.

‘No idea what to charge’

Other property owners are advertising on social media and say renting to the public is a “new thing” for them.

Sara Roberts said she had only ever let out her flat to “family and friends for football weekends” or the races at Aintree.

“How much do people looking for accommodation think is reasonable to pay?” she asked. “Many people have never rented their homes before… let’s all be transparent from both sides.”

Tom Jackson, who is also letting out his home, said: “I have no idea what I should charge, so I just put open to offers.”

Meanwhile, Mr Henry, who has been to other Eurovision contests in Europe where his accommodation was much cheaper, is still looking forward to his time in Liverpool, wherever he ends up staying.

“Eurovision may never come back to the UK again. I just love it, I’ve got the bug,” he said.
