There is no definitive answer to this question as it depends on individual preferences and dietary needs. However, in general, healthy takeout options might include dishes that are high in protein and fiber, low in unhealthy fats and added sugars, and devoid of artificial ingredients. These meals might also be relatively easy to prepare and reasonably affordable. Ultimately, the best way to determine whether a particular takeout option is healthful is to examine its nutrient content and ingredient list.
Key Trends

Happy Taco Truck: Some Fine Things (Part 3)
Tumblr media
Part 1 Part 2
This is the final installment, an early Christmas gift to my sis @awrestlinggirlwholoves80sbands!  Thank you so much for your feedback, it means everything
Tag list: @izzysdenimjacket @no-stone-no-bone @sexcoffeeandrockandroll @awrestlinggirlwholoves80sbands @smokeandmirrorz @sodalitefully @roger-taylors-car  @harley-m-rose @whisperess33 @shawolat @80snikki
Warnings: language, Axl is a brat, horny Izz, Slaxl takes a long time to marinate, Izzy is just too romantic
Notes:  this is my first try at slash fiction, so be gentle.  All credits to the songwriters, and the “Jose Cuervo” line is from the movie “DC Cab.” I would give just about everything to hear Izzy sing “Lodi”
“Can I help you?” your coworker asked.
You glanced over at him, tenderness unfurling in your heart.  After Skyler took off with James from “Hetfield & Grohl’s” to work the barbecue circuit, you’d been up shit creek until Steven recommended a guy he knew, and a curly-haired, soft-spoken guy who for some undeterminable reason went by the moniker “Slash” had turned up to work the window.
It was the first time in your life you’d met an individual even shyer than yourself.  Slash was easy-going and smart, and once you got to know him, incredibly funny, but inside his shell was where he was truly comfortable, and with the amount of assholes who demanded the impossible being the brunt of your customers, you wondered if he was going to last.
“Yeah, gimme a chicken taco.”  Speaking of assholes, here was Axl placing his usual order.  He had been really taking advantage of the discount you offered him, turning up several times a day to collect his free meals.  Izzy mentioned he’d been finding antacids stashed in the ice cream truck.
The heat inside the truck forced Slash to pull his gorgeous curls back in a ponytail, and his exposed eyes fell downwards.  “Sure.  I’ll have that right out,” he said in his quiet voice, then closed the hatch.
You dumped chicken on the flattop.  “Slash, hon, we can’t shut the window until we’re closed,” you gently reminded him, moving the seasoned meat around.
“I-I can’t talk to him,” he whispered, his soft eyes full of fear.
“Why not?  I mean, yeah, he can be a jerk sometimes, but-”, and it was at that moment you caught it.  You recognized that same desperate look.  You’d worn it yourself a little while ago, when you had been too shy to chat up Izzy.  How frightened you’d been of embarrassing yourself, only to find out that Izz lit up every time he looked at you, and was now completely incapable of keeping his wandering hands to himself.
“Oh, Slash,” you murmured, handing him the taco.  His hands were shaking too bad to add the crema, so you did it yourself, and he opened the hatch to an irate Axl.
“Here-here you go,” he said, and you hoped you were the only one who heard the waver in his voice.
“The hell’s wrong with you!  You can’t even talk to your customers?!”  Axl’s face was nearly as red as his hair as he screamed at Slash.
Slash’s mouth flew open in hurt, and you stepped up to the window.  “Axl, that was my fault.  I was showing Slash how to add the special sauce.  And that is a closely guarded secret,” you lied.  There were some days you really wanted to punch him in the mouth.  “And you will not speak to my assistant like that ever again.  You understand?”
Axl looked at you, then Slash.  “Hey, man, I’m sorry,” he said, and you nearly tumbled out the window in surprise.  Axl raised hell with everybody and everything, but you’d never heard him apologize before.
“S’okay,” Slash said, barely audible, looking down, and you wanted to put your arms around him and give him a comforting squeeze.
Axl opened his mouth to say something, then stuffed his taco in it and walked away.
“Why he took a job in customer service is beyond me,” you muttered, then patted Slash on the back.  “I’ve never heard him tell anyone he was sorry.  You must be special,” and Slash’s face lit up as he smiled.
And you knew you had a problem on your hands.
“Yoo hoo?  Where’s my beloved?  I got a bottle of Jose Cuervo and I brought my lucky rubber,” Izzy announced, climbing aboard your truck.
“I’m out here, Izz,” you called, slamming the lid down on the trash can.
He walked into your view and let out a loud whistle.  “Have I told you you get more beautiful every day?” he asked, pulling you to him for a kiss.
“Mmmm, hi, handsome,” you said against his mouth.  “You’re just the person I wanted to see.”
“And you’re just the person I wanted to see naked.”
“Izz!” you scolded.  “I actually need your help with something.”
“I can help you do that.  Over and over again.”
You playfully swatted him.  “It’s about Slash.” Izzy’s face grew serious.  “He didn’t quit, did he?  I mean, I can fill in for him again, but I’d need to lay down for like a week afterward.”
You shook your head.  “No, he didn’t quit.”  That week Izzy subbed at the Happy Taco window had left him scarred for life.  “He, uh, he has a crush.”
Izzy furrowed his eyebrows.
“On Axl.”
He blinked.  “And?”
“And I thought maybe you could help me play matchmaker.”
Izzy turned and pounded his head against the side of the truck.
“Honey,” you pleaded, “please.  He’s so shy I don’t think he has any idea how to approach him.”
“Babe, even if I wanted to do this, and I don’t, Axl has been acting so fucking weird lately there’s no way I could talk to him.”
“Weird?  What’s he doing?”
“Well, he comes over here for tacos all the time now, then when comes back, he plays all of his Elton John tapes at full blast.  Then he cleans the truck from top to bottom.  He’s even nice to the customers now.”
“But he came over here and yelled at Slash!”
His eyes met yours.  “What did Slash do to him?”
“He didn’t talk to him.”
Izzy was quiet for a moment.  “Y/N, I don’t think he’s coming over here for just tacos, although they are excellent.”
“See, they need our help.”
Izzy closed his eyes and beat his head against the truck again.
“They just need a little nudge in the right direction.”
He wearily looked at you, and you put your hand on his cheek.  “Fine,” he rasped.  “Whatever.  But right now, I need to go in the right direction, and that direction is horizontal with you on top of me.”
“Slash, are you busy tonight?”
You honestly had no idea what Slash did on his nights off.  As soon as you closed the truck, he exchanged pleasantries with Izzy and hopped on his bike and pedaled away.  When you’d offered him an invitation to stay and meet the rest of the Circle, he mumbled something about feeding a snake and fled.
Tonight, you hoped he would have a change of heart.  After hours, you and Izzy usually got up to activities that did not require any participants, but he had talked Axl into a jam session, bringing along two guitars as well as a tambourine.
“I-I don’t have any plans,” he said quietly, gazing longingly out the window.  It was nearly time for Axl to fetch his dinner taco.
“There’s a jam over at the Frozen Delights truck after they close.”
Slash lit up, grinning wider than you had ever seen him, then his face fell.  “I didn’t bring my guitar.”
“Izzy brought two.  He’d like to hear you play.”  That was almost a lie.  Izzy wasn’t all that keen on a jam, preferring the two of you spending time alone, but when you whispered on his neck you’d make it up to him, his enthusiasm level picked up.
To your surprise, Slash’s cheeks flushed.  “I’d love to come,” then he stood up a little straighter and you saw Axl strutting up to the window.
“Hey, Slash,” he greeted him, and you stepped back into the shadows to give them a semblance of privacy.
“Hi.”
“Hey, you wanna come over tonight and play music with me and Izz?  He’s got an extra guitar.”
Slash beamed at him, then lowered his eyes.  “Sure.  So-sounds good.”
Axl smiled back, and you about fell over at the sight.  Too bad he didn’t do it more often, he was quite attractive when he stopped scowling.  He began to walk away, then backtracked.  “Hey,” he squinted up, “do you like barbecue?”
Slash blinked, then replied, “I love barbecue.”
Axl’s smile got even bigger.  “I’ll have some when you get there.”
After he left, Slash looked over at you with his mouth agape.
“Well, it sounds like you have a date,” you chuckled at him.  “Good thing he’s provided dinner.”
He tilted his head.  “Why?”
“I was going to suggest you bring over one of those homewrecker corn dogs and eat it in front of him,” you cackled.  “Izzy’s eyes nearly left his head when I did that.”
“Oh shit,” Slash breathed, laughing with you, then his eyes turned pleading.  “You’ll be there, won’t you, you and Izz?  You won’t leave me alone?”
Well, that had been the plan.  “Uhhh, sure, Slash.  We won’t leave you.”
After you locked up, you nearly had to drag a primping Slash down to the Frozen Delights truck, pecking Izzy on the lips when you arrived.  Axl had taken off to get dinner, so the three of you sat down and opened up beers while you awaited his return.
You watched Slash’s leg nervously bounce up and down, then Axl stood in front of him and handed him a takeout container.
“I didn’t know what you liked so I got you a sample platter,” he said, and you swore you heard a note of shyness in his voice.
Izzy cleared his throat, and Axl all but flung your containers at the two of you.  “Yeah, I got you the same,” he mumbled, jerking his lawn chair closer to Slash’s.
The four of you ate in silence, you silently thanking Kelly for his prowess with pork, working the meat off a rib and catching an ornery smile from Izzy.
Axl just picked at his platter, moving around his coleslaw and half heartedly munching on his brisket.  His eyes never left Slash, who looked down and gnawed on a rib.
Their awkwardness made you bite back a wince, then you snuck a glance at Izzy, who stabbed his pulled pork wearing expression that looked like he was in acute intestinal distress.  His eyes met yours, then he mouthed, “Kill me.”
“So, uh, Slash, how long have you played guitar?” you asked, dipping a slice of brisket into Kelly’s heavenly sauce.
He pulled on his beer.  “A few years.”
Izzy sat his container down and wiped his hands and face with a napkin.  “I’m ready to play if you are,” he barked, swiftly flicking open his guitar case.
Slash blinked, swallowing his pulled pork.  “Sure,” he said, wiping his hands and carefully picking Izzy’s other guitar up.
Izzy began the opening notes of “Midnight Rider,” Slash chiming in after a few bars, then Axl and Izzy began singing, “I’ve got to run to keep from hiding,” and you dropped a naked rib bone in shock.
They sounded incredible.
You watched them in awe, then Izzy nodded at you, and you began singing with them.  You’d actually done this before, sitting in with Izzy while he played guitar and Axl sang, but Slash was like the key that unlocked their greatness.
Axl and Slash exchanged grins, looking into each other’s eyes, then, wearing a happy smile, Izzy started singing one of his favorites, “Lodi.”
Slash strummed along, but Axl didn’t sing.  Instead, he watched Slash play, his fingers working up and down the neck of the guitar, his silver rings glinting in the moonlight, and a soft smile played on his lips.
He took a sip of beer when they finished, then said, “I have a song I’d like to sing.”
He moved closer to Slash, then pushed his curls out of his eyes and sang,
“Desperado
Why don’t you come to your senses
You’ve been out ridin fences for so long now”
Slash looked down, setting Izzy’s guitar in its case, then Axl tipped his chin up and continued,
“Oh, you’re a hard one
But I know that you got your reasons
These things that are pleasing you
Can hurt you somehow
Izzy silently packed away his guitar, then jerked his head towards Helen the Happy Taco truck.  You followed him, turning around to see Axl whisper,
“You better let somebody love you
Before it’s too late”
and press a kiss to Slash’s lips, then Slash put his arms around Axl’s neck and returned it.
“Thank God,” Izzy muttered.  “I’d rather fuck a bee’s nest than tag along on one of their dates again.”

1. What big corporation(s) do you support, particularly because you like what they stand for (many vegan items, donate large amount of money to charities, pay their workers a living wage, etc)? I don’t think there’s any I support just for that reason to be honest. If I’m being even more honest, I don’t really look into what they stand for. Well, except for when it comes to makeup and I see the “cruelty free” logo then I buy those. That’s all that immediately comes to mind.  2. For those who menstruate or have in the past, is it worse to deal with a period in the summer or winter time? Why do you feel that way over the other season? For me it was horrible all year round because I had really bad PMS/PMDD. Summer certainly didn’t help; though, because that makes me miserable enough already. 3. If you wear foundation or have in the past, what type of applicator do you use (beauty sponge, foundation brush, fingers, etc)? Is there a type of applicator that doesn’t work for you? I use a sponge.
4. For those of you that do listen/watch ASMR videos, what are your favorite “triggers”? If you don’t watch ASMR, what are your thoughts on the whole phenomenon that seemed to happen the past couple years over it? I love ASMR. If you read my surveys and the question is, “What are you listening to” or something along those lines, my answer is almost always “An ASMR video” lol. It’s been a thing on YouTube for several years, but it started off with a small community and then really grew over the past few years. The past couple of years it has gained recognition in the news and there was even a Superbowl beer commercial with Zoe Gravitz. There’s also those videos where various celebrities try ASMR. I’m glad it’s getting talked about more and people are learning about it because it has a stigma to it and people who don’t understand think it’s weird or sexual. It’s not inherently sexual, but like other things it can be made that way. Anyway, ASMR is a sensation I’ve experienced since I was a kid, but I only just learned there was a name for it about 4 years ago. I remember feeling it as a kid when someone would brush or play with my hair, and when someone was reading a book or magazine and like the sounds of the pages turning. Those things are definitely some of my triggers. My favorite types of videos are hairstylist role plays, applying makeup, receptionist with typing and writing sounds videos, and stuff like that. I prefer the role play style ones over just straight tapping on items videos. I also like ones where they’re not talking as well, I don’t care for the no talking videos.  5. Are there any true crime cases that bothers you immensely because of the story or verdict of the court case (ex. OJ Simpson)? Plenty. Particularly ones that involve the murder of children. I can never understand that. Also, I don’t understand how Casey Anthony got away with it.  6. When looking for discounted events or activities, where are you most likely to look for these deals (besides Google or other big search engines)? Google is really all I would use, though. 7. What is your favorite type of lip balm (brand, scent, what ingredients are in it, etc)? What about sunscreen or other sun protecting products? I like EOS. As for sunscreen, I like to use ones with the highest SPF.  8. What store(s) do you have the worst time finding clothing/accessories in because they don’t cater to your body type (disregard price and other factors when considering)? If this isn’t something you struggle with, what store(s) do you think people might struggle finding clothing options in if they were the opposite body type as you? I hear people talk about stores like H&M, Forever 21, and Victoria’s Secret because their sizes are too small. 9. Do you use store loyalty programs? If you don’t use them, what is your reasoning behind that? What store loyalty programs do you feel offer the best incentives, regardless if you aren’t a member of them? Like the rewards programs? If it’s something for free and I get points or coupons or whatever for what I spend then sure. If I have to pay for something then nah. 10. When it comes to skincare, what product could you not go without over the other ones? Where are you most likely to shop for your skincare needs?  I honestly don’t use any except for water and a moisturizer sometimes. It works for me. I should use the moisturizer more, though. 11. Regardless if you aren’t someone who hoards or keeps stuff for a long time, what is one (type of) item that you have a hard time getting rid of? I am that type of person. I have a hard time getting rid of anything. Like, I used to even keep receipts and shoe boxes for the longest, but I got better about that. I do still keep birthday cards, brochures, ticket stubs, things like that. OH I used to hoard homework assignments, binders, and notes and not even just for the current school year, I’d have stuff from years prior lol. I eventually got rid of that stuff as well. Now my biggest issue is clothes. I have way too many. It’s to the point where I have a dresser, a hamper full of clean clothes, and a mountain of clothes on my bed. I know I could get rid of a lot of it, but I have a really hard time with doing so for some reason. A lot of it I haven’t worn in a long time and probably never will again. I really, really need to go through it all again and try to get rid of some, though. :/  12. If you eat meat, what is at least one vegan item (not necessarily a banana) that you like or would like trying (such as a trying a soy ham substitute)? If you don’t eat meat, what is one meat item that you like and understand why people eat it? I don’t know. I’m so picky, so I don’t know if I’d like vegan “chicken” tenders or burgers or anything like that, really. 13. What is a food that is always better homemade? How about a food that is always better at a restaurant? I like the homemade meals my family makes, but I like a lot of takeout foods, too. I like both versions of foods, it just depends what I’m in the mood for. I definitely prefer getting pizza, chicken tenders, and french fries from restaurants/fast food places, though. The frozen stuff you put in the oven or microwave at home just doesn’t cut it. Basically all the fried stuff.  14. If you watched teen dramas growing up (such as 90210 or One Tree Hill), which one was your favorite or you liked the best? If you watched family sitcoms growing up (such as Full House or The Fresh Prince), which one was your favorite or liked the best? I like The OC, Degrassi, and Boy Meets World (does that count?) for teen dramas. As for family sitcoms, I liked Full House, Step by Step, Family Matters, and Roseanne. There were others, but those are the ones that immediately come to mind. 15. What is a tradition either within your country or family that you feel is not needed or could in fact even be bad (ex. using paper plates for every party, eating hot dogs every weekend during the summer, etc)? Ew, some people eat hot dogs every weekend during the summer? I can’t judge the paper plates thing because we use them a lot. They’re very convenient for me. The person before me said 4th of July traditions, which I could understand because of the fireworks. They’re obviously dangerous. And LOUD. They’re pretty to look at, but yeah I can see how they’re problematic.

Can You Turn Coal Miners into Coders? Not at Scale.
They Were Promised Coding Jobs in Appalachia. Now They Say It Was a Fraud. | Campbell Robinson reports on yet-another-scam-education-program, this one set in West Virginia, ostensibly to teach coal miners to code:
Many West Virginians like Ms. Frame signed up for Mined Minds, quitting their jobs or dropping out of school for the prized prospect of a stable and lucrative career. But the revival never came.
Almost none of those who signed up for Mined Minds are working in programming now. They described Mined Minds as an erratic operation, where guarantees suddenly evaporated and firings seemed inevitable, leaving people to start over again at the bottom rungs of the wage jobs they had left behind.
Over two dozen former students in West Virginia are pursuing a lawsuit, arguing that Mined Minds was a fraud. Out of the 10 or so people who made it to the final weeks of Ms. Frame’s class in Beckley, only one formally graduated. He is now delivering takeout.
“It was a too-good-to-be-true kind of deal,” said Billyjack Buzzard, 33, who attended another class and was the only former West Virginia coal miner to finish classes and get a job with the program. He was fired after 14 months and went back underground. “Just false hope.”
Mined Minds came into Appalachia espousing a certain dogma, fostered in the world of start-ups and TED Talks, and carried with missionary zeal into places in dire need of economic salvation. The group was premised on the notion, as one grant proposal read, that “anyone can have a successful career in the technology industry,” and that if enough people did, the whole area would be transformed.
Zeynep Tufekci has a great tear-down for this story on Twitter:
Decades of research shows job training programs don't work at scale because of lack of supply of appropriate good jobs. There are always nice learned-to-code stories (I'm one: started coding as a kid and it literally saved my life) but those don't scale.
I have seen many, many "teach computers to poor people" efforts over the year and studied them in my disseration. My most common observation is that they are wasting people's time and should just give people the money directly. Focus should be on living wage for realistic jobs.
I don't discount the occasional success story, and I think there are a significant number of reasonable online resources for the few people who might be inclined & actually able to take this path. It just isn't a realistic path out of poverty in places like the one in this piece.
I've seen "teach-them-code" efforts run by grifters. I've seen them them run by very well meaning people. I think there is some value in coding bootcamps, especially already well-positioned people to switch careers. It just isn't and won't ever be a way out of poverty at scale.
Go read the thread on Twitter, which includes Raghav Arora stating he's involved in a legitimate effort to scale such tech education, and can't:
We started @engyinlabs to help college students and dropouts get better at deep tech. We realized that 1. unless you engage in creaming, teaching is incredibly difficult and 2. that the one-to-one / one-to-few approach cannot run at scale. We'll shortly be shutting down.
These stories are the real backdrop to the hand waves we read endless about retraining workers, which proves to be incredibly difficult and costly, or else almost totally ineffective.

USING COUPONS AND DISCOUNTS SHOULD NOT BE A SOURCE OF SHAME
i never understood why (especially in the US) people are ashamed of saying that they are using discount websites or cashback apps... of course capitalism will tell you that saving money is shameful, but fuck anyone who makes fun of people trying to save money, if only for the fact that it makes some people who aren’t used to spending money some peace of mind when buying commodities that they want but don’t need...
two days ago, I bought 15 bottles of wine (which comes with a free $25 voucher and a corkscrew), discounted from 183 to 55 on Groupon, used a 50% coupon to get it for $30 ($25 max discount), plus used a cashback eBates account to get another $25 in welcome bonus and 15% cashback (was a holiday special extra), effectively making it around 3$. I am so fucking proud of getting 15 bottles of wine for practically free because I will drink that wine with no remorse and feel good about it, and it only took me 10 minutes to find and setup the accounts and use them (there is a $30 shipping fee on the website when redeeming it so ultimately it will cost around $35 to get the 15 bottles of wine, which is still pretty damn good imo given that finding $3 bottles of wine in the US is not that easy, and getting it delivered is convenient when we don’t have a car). I am going to post referral links for what I used for this deal if someone wants to do it as well:
Groupon: https://www.groupon.com/visitor_referral/h/09066575-4e8d-43a5-b954-5becfa56a2fa
Ebates: https://www.ebates.com/r/ALEXAN29538?eeid=28187
Wine deal i got: https://www.groupon.com/deals/wine-insiders-1780
Also, if you are a student in the US, unfortunately there aren’t many student discounts in the US but some websites do offer constant student discounts for a variety of online retailers... unidays for example offers some really good deals for first few orders on grubhub/seamless (better than referral or welcome offers on those websites), as well as discounts on any order on a shit ton of clothes’ stores, and BUS TICKETS (which is what we use it for the most). like they will generate a coupon code for you to use on demand.
Here’s a unidays referral: http://www.myunidays.com/r/A1iYupRRVHM (you will need an .edu email to make an account)
Finally, if you plan on buying a lot of things from one store (especially clothes), you can get store credit for pretty cheap and then use that store credit when buying online (and often print it for in-store too). the nice thing is also that if you do use cashback apps, you can get cashback on the store credit first, then also cashback on the actual store for what you’re buying. H&M and other big stores often have store credit with over 25% discount from its value (so you’d pay less than 75$ then get 100$ to use online or in-store)
The two store credit websites I use are CardCash: https://refer.cardcash.com/alexandrumahmoud96
Raise: https://geta.raise.com/AMAHMOUD5312
Also, to get cheap food, one thing you can do for websites like grubhub/seamless/etc... is create a new gmail account and use voice.google.com to get a phone number to use on there, then use a referral link to get the $10 or $12 off the first $15 order (although remember if you are a student you can get $15 off the first 2 orders with unidays). you might have to also buy some visa gift cards/use paypal to change payment name/methods. Also if they don’t let you order because of the address being the same, remember that you can change the apartment number if you’re ordering delivery, or put any address if you’re doing takeout to not come up as the same user and be eligible for an unlimited number of referrals. here’s a grubhub referral link:
Grubhub: http://fbuy.me/k7fXz
Seamless: http://fbuy.me/lpdSp
Other websites that might be useful:
iBotta ( https://ibotta.com/r/qpkqtyr ) gives cashback on both online and actual grocery/alcohol/other stores!! There are a lot of first-time bonuses: I got $22 off a $58 grocery bill which was pretty nice
Some other cashback accounts, also nice to use interchangeably for more cashback and to get welcome bonuses on all:

Diary: 12th March 2022
today i ate breakfast (lunch) at 1 because my mom was in a meeting. i didn't eat anything for 4 hours since i woke up except for a pack of 3 month old japanese grape jelly. her meeting was so long it was about orientation for new students @ her school.
i don't get why even the teachers must attend its not like the teachers are answering the questions the parents of the children ask anyway. the people responsible for hosting the meeting could just send them the powerpoint they showcased in the meeting a day before or something.
for breakfast (lunch) my 8 year old cousin is treating us!! she got so much money in her bank account it's crazy. (don't rob her)
she took us to Soon Lee (omg a grandeur restaurant!) it has private rooms and a ballroom and a vegetarian branch next to it. (basically the same dishes owned by the same company but vegan)
they occupied this square room in the restaurant that looked like some gathering place for mafia or people who earn black money having a party. she ordered stir fried veggies (lotus, mushroom, ginko..), sweet n sour pork in yam basket, orange juice fried chicken, tofu in cut up octopus tentacles and lala soup! (the bill was rm168..)
after the bill was paid (by my kid cousin..), my M grandma invited us to sit in her house but we told her we had to catch a movie. it was at 2.20 (we haven't actually booked it yet). when we arrived at the mall, my dad went to the directory and picked 3 tickets. ONE SEAT: RM18. KIDS: RM13. like i literally watched a movie yesterday in the same cinema and they had discount for students and it was RM11 per adult. there was a RM7 price difference between the weekday an weekend! how unbelievable... (so we planned to watch the same movie in a different mall in 2 hours)
we came back to my P grandparents house to freshen up. my grandpa made steamed buns!! it looked like durian flesh on the outside but it's very tasty. i washed my hair with their cold water and it was so refreshing!!!! they collect cold tap water in a huge tub and we have a pail to collect the water and splash it on our bodies. its super convenient and wakes you up even at 6am!
at 5 we departed to watch a movie in a different mall this time. AND GUESS WHAT!!! ADULT FOR RM11!!! KIDS: RM9! and they charged me for the kid price!!! no way in hell. i am 172cm... but whatever saves my money i guess!
after i ate 1/5 of the popcorn i immediately gave the rest to my parents. no way i'm peeing in the middle of a 3 hour movie. never. during the movie i kept fumbling around in my chair searching for a position that will let me hold in my piss for the longest time possible. there was this kid who kept going to the toilet which i only noticed were 3 different kids wearing the same shirt at the end of the movie.
when the movie ended it was already 8.20. we went back home and my grandparents ordered takeout! i got cold fried rice while both my parents ate char kuey tiaw. my nana baked a sponge cake for supper which i ate because i forgot i had my teeth brushed.

Peri-Peri’s MCU Caloocan Branch Features Park & Order
A lot of people are still quite hesitant to go outside their homes. Some of my friends have not entered a restaurant ever since the pandemic started last year. Food deliveries have greatly improved, but there is still a difference between eating a hot, freshly prepared meal at the restaurant and having it reheated in the microwave at home. Thankfully, Peri-Peri Charcoal Chicken is giving its customers another great option as they recently launched their Park and Order feature.
Peri-Peri Charcoal Chicken & Sauce Bar is the designated home of the charcoal-grilled chicken. Owned and managed by the Shakey’s group, Peri-Peri just opened their 45th branch at the Manila Central University (MCU) along EDSA in Caloocan last September 8, 2021. As one of the fastest growing restaurants in the country, this unique barbecue chicken is truly catching the taste buds of the Filipinos with its distinct aromas and flavorful spices.
With the new store comes a new way or ordering your favorite chicken, ribs, and pasta dishes from Peri-Peri. Aside from the usual dine-in and take-out options, the MCU Caloocan branch comes with a very convenient Park and Order feature. Guests can just drive and park their cars at the spacious Park and Dine areas then proceed to place their orders at the terminal, similar to a drive-thru.
This means that you can order your favorite items and have them delivered straight to your car, hot and fresh. You can then eat right inside your car, just like you were dining inside the restaurant. It’s safe, it’s convenient, and it’s a great option for those who are not yet fully ready for dine-in.
The new MCU Caloocan branch also sports a more colorful and upbeat look. Peri-Peri Charcoal Chicken celebrates the vibrant local art community through sustainable partnerships with homegrown talents, showcasing their work and creations in their restaurants. This is the first wall art installation they created which you can find here beside the Park and Dine area. Selfies for yourself and even for your cars are welcome.
They also have an exclusive pick-up window for delivery riders and for carry-out orders. The MCU Caloocan branch was really built with the pandemic in mind so everything has been designed for safety and convenience.
For those who are willing to dine-in, the 183 square meter branch is also a great attraction. It comes with the distinct and festive Portuguese ambiance and theme that you can find in all other Peri-Peri branches.
For now, only fully vaccinated guests are allowed to dine in based on the most recent IATF guidelines. The maximum seating capacity has also been increased while still maintaining the proper social distancing measures.
As for me, I decided to give the Park and Dine feature a try so I’m staying right inside my car. The staff will even disinfect your hands before they serve your orders.
My order was delivered straight to the car after just 15 minutes. We ordered the Signature Peri Grupo (P1,099) which is what we usually have delivered to the house.
This family set is good for up to four persons and comes with 1 Whole Peri-Peri Charcoal Chicken (choice of Classic or Picante), 1 Carbonara To Share, 1 Sebastian Salad, 4 Regular Sides, 4 Java Rice, and a 1.5L Coke. Best of all, you can get all of these for only P1,099 with a huge savings of P581 from its regular price.
I wasn’t planning on eating everything in the car, but I was already quite hungry so I couldn’t wait to start with the carbonara. This one is for sharing, so don’t worry, I left some for my husband.
The Peri Grupo also comes with an order of Sebastian Salad with its crunchy greens topped with egg, tomatoes, kani, and dressing.
The main attraction of the Peri Grupo set is their signature Peri-Peri Charcoal Chicken. This whole classic chicken is marinated overnight in a special concoction of peri-peri chili, herbs, and spices then charcoal grilled.
It also includes four servings of java rice plus a medley of sauces to choose from. This set is really perfect for sharing with the entire family.
The term “peri-peri” actually comes from an African bird’s eye chili called piri-piri which releases a fiery spice and helps create a wealth of flavors in every dish. Peri-Peri chicken traces its roots from Portuguese origins but this has been tweaked a little bit to satisfy the Filipino palate. It’s not as spicy and fiery as its original version, but you can customize your experience with a variety of their signature sauces.
Peri-Peri Charcoal Chicken comes with eight signature sauces from mildly sweet and tangy, to wildly smokey, and to flaming spicy. You can mix and match each of the sauces to create your own flavor adventure.
The Peri Grupo also comes with 4 regular side dishes. We chose coleslaw, mashed potato, corn and carrots, plus baked mac and cheese. This promotion was only available until September 30, 2021 but I do hope they offer it again soon.
We added a few more items to complete our Park and Dine order. The Salted Egg Crispy Chicken Skin (P275-to share) is a great appetizer to munch on in the car or at home. We also ordered the Peri BBQ Back Ribs (P692-half) with its smoky and flavorful pork ribs doused in their signature barbecue sauce.
I even got a FREE SuperCard Classic with my Signature Peri Grupo! This card entitles me to big discounts and free items at all Peri-Peri and Shakey’s branches for one whole year. All these fantastic dishes are available for dine-in, takeout or delivery through their hotline at 7374-7374 (PERI-PERI), their website at www.periperichicken.ph, or through other food delivery apps. Better yet, give their MCU Caloocan branch a visit and experience the new Park and Order feature for yourselves.

Chapter Three: Jumbo Slices and Metro Fares
As much as Satsuki enjoyed painting and welding, her favorite thing to do was lampwork. She found it relaxing to mold glass into the intricate sculptures she designed. To use fire to bring her ideas to life.
“A fairy?” One of the students observing her asked. She gave him a slight nod, keeping her eyes focused on her heated glass rods.
Satsuki didn't work with assistants but occasionally some of the apprentices would come observe her at work. Because she was mainly a private artist and worked on the commissioned pieces at Glass & Iron, she worked on pieces that were more enjoyable to observe being created.
It was good learning experience. The apprentices would learn new techniques they wouldn't typically use for the stuff they would make for Glass & Iron. At least not for a long, long time.
“Did they ask for a pink haired fairy?”
Satsuki blinked rapidly, trying to process what the apprentice had said. Considering how focused she was she couldn't believe that she had used the pink glass rod for the petal dress on the hair of her fairy sculpture. The original plan was all clear glass with the only color being on the dress and wings.
“It looks nice. Prettier. More girly?”
Satsuki raised a brow at the boy. He flushed red and stammered out an apology.
Everyone knew she was sensitive about the fact that she was one of the only women that worked at Glass & Iron. One of them worked in welding and the other woman occasionally assisted on large commission pieces but mostly worked on making the colored glass they used in the shop.
There once was a rumor that Satsuki got the better jobs because she was sleeping with Kakashi. It had infuriated the other women. It was insulting. Satsuki mostly found it annoying.
She didn't care what people said about her personally. Her skill spoke for itself and the men in the shop were just jealous that they weren't as talented.
It also didn't really affect her that people thought she was sleeping with her old teacher. She knew it wasn’t true and so did Rin, Kakashi’s wife. It only irritated her when Kakashi caught wind of it and burst out laughing. He patted her shoulder and sighed out the rest of his laugh.
“Are you even interested in men?”
Satsuki prepared to seal her fairy by running it in the kiln. From what her client had told her of her daughter she knew that the pink hair would be a nice surprise.
“Are you done for the day? Want to go grab a bite?”
Satsuki paused in the middle of cleaning up her work area and noticed the younger man still hanging around. There was a blush dusting his cheeks and she groaned inwardly. She had assumed that his attention was purely professional. It wouldn’t be the first time she had caught the eye of one of the apprentices. At her age it wasn’t new anymore that she attracted people with her looks but it didn’t make it any less unwanted.
“Are you even interested in men?”
Satsuki couldn’t really say she wasn’t interested in men. She could at this moment to deter the hopeful apprentice but it wouldn’t be entirely truthful.
She just never really thought about them. It was the same with women. It was odd how high her libido was considering she wasn’t attracted to either gender sexually. Usually whenever she was in the mood she didn’t really know where to turn to.
Like being hungry and opening the door of a full refrigerator and finding nothing to eat, her older cousin Shisui had joked once.
Satsuki avoided relationships because she wanted to avoid sex. Yes she had a high libido, but she couldn’t just sleep with someone and she knew it could cause a strain in a relationship with someone. There wasn’t a guarantee that she would engage in a sexual relationship with a person just because she entered a romantic relationship with them. She had never felt comfortable enough.
Correction: she never felt comfortable before.
There was comfort the other night apparently, Satsuki thought dryly.
When Satsuki calmed down from her─not so─minor moment of panic she had curled up on her side under her kitchen table and looked back on the events of that night that she could remember.
She remembered:
Pretending she didn’t already know Sakura Haruno’s name.
Drinking whiskey like it wasn’t god awful without Coke, feeling like she had something to prove to pretty green eyes and a pleasant smile.
Soft fingers down her bikini bottoms and really dirty words falling from a cute mouth.
Satsuki had gotten drunk around rather friendly people before. Sometimes she wondered if Kiba even knew what he was humping when he drank. But she never fucked anyone that wasn’t herself while inebriated.
But apparently she got well acquainted with Sakura who had previously just been a pink haired stranger.
A stranger who had at some point had her face between Satsuki's thighs.
The more Satsuki tried to will more memories all she could imagine were a pair of green eyes shimmering with mischief and a saucy grin before said grinning mouth lowered to give long teasing licks, humming in delight as a small pink tongue added pressure with each stroke.
Satsuki felt heat crawling down her face to her neck. She didn't want to analyze the fact she was probably fantasizing more than recalling memories.
“I'm going home,” she announced to no one in particular, nodding to herself and with her hands on her hips.
She grabbed her canvas one shoulder sling backpack and her utility jacket and left her studio. She shut the door and locked it preparing to stay out of Glass & Iron until her head was cleared of any intrusive thoughts.
“Okay…?” The apprentice stared dumbfounded through the studio’s windows as Satsuki just left, completely forgetting he was in the room. . .
Satsuki glared at the strip of paper in her hand with its cutesy fox design. No matter how adorable, the single day fare card was no replacement for her metro card.
She had filled her card with twenty dollars before she lost it and owning the pass gave her discounted trips. Which she forgot about when she bought the ticket. Satsuki hadn't put enough money on it and couldn't leave through the exit stall.
Groaning, Satsuki dragged her feet to the insufficient funds machine so she could put more money on her ticket to pay off her fare.
Satsuki would have reported her card missing if it weren't for the fact that she had procrastinated registering her card and couldn't get a replacement with the funds she had added. She had a problem with procrastination. Satsuki could make orders and complete them ahead of schedule, her focus intense on her projects, but everything else fell through the cracks.
As she approached the surface she debated whether she should finally go grocery shopping or order takeout again. As the escalator ride was approaching its end she decided that she wanted to go to Jumbo Slice. Her mouth watered thinking about the cheese and the tomato sauce. A pizza slice bigger than her face would be the perfect end to her day.
After she purchased her slice she rolled it into a burrito shape and wrapped it in the foil they served it in to protect her hands from getting sauce all over them. She didn't mind the heat.
Munching on her pizza burrito she thought back on Sakura. It was an intrusive thought. Satsuki was meant to try and forget her but she couldn't help but picture Sakura in her pretty, neat clothes grabbing a greasy slice of pizza in the middle of the night.
Satsuki rolled her eyes and shook her head of the image. It was highly unlikely to happen. Sure it would make sense that someone like her with her busy schedule would stop for a quick bite to eat but that didn't seem like Sakura.
Satsuki felt safe making that assumption remembering an inebriated Sakura talking about her meal prepping and how she found mason jar salads to be super cute.
Satsuki snorted. Once that girl started rambling it seemed like she would never stop. She just flowed from one topic to the other taking up most of the conversation, something Satsuki was grateful for.
Satsuki was awkward and never knew what to say. Whole conversations could go by without her saying anything just for lack of knowing how to jump into the conversation properly.
It was something her older brother Itachi never had a problem with but apparently didn't get carried on to her. Itachi was aloof when he was a lot younger, unable to get along with kids his own age. He grew out of it as he got older and was actually quite charming.
Satsuki was not. The hardest part of her apprenticeship with Kakashi wasn't learning any techniques but learning how to speak to clients. She appeared aloof to many people but it was more anxiety of having to be around others than her being cold and distant.
She was a happy and friendly child according to her family. She was just horribly shy with strangers. Satsuki spent most of her youth hiding behind Itachi or her mother's leg.
Which may explain why her first instinct was to bolt when she noticed she was naked in bed with an equally as naked Sakura.
Not equally as naked. Didn't look anywhere the same when they were naked. Sakura was softer. Curvier. With a much nicer--
Satsuki choked on a bite of pizza.
What a great time to start noticing stuff like that.
Satsuki finally reached her apartment and punched in her code to buzz into the building. One of the first things her father insisted on when she moved out was an apartment with good security. He said he was even willing to help with rent if it meant she would be properly secure.
Satsuki refused the offer. She didn't need a doorman or a security guard at night. Especially not with all the training she had gotten growing up from her father who was a combat specialist.
God, she was glad to be in her own apartment, her own place where her father wasn't around to make her workout all of the time. She hated exercise so much. She preferred sketching with her mother over running miles and weight training.
“Hey Artemis.” Satsuki greeted her cat. Artemis rolled on his back and let out a big yawn. “Bet that's all you did today.”
Satsuki shuffled into her kitchen and put her kettle on the stove. Artemis followed at her heels, meowing loudly. He rubbed against her ankles when she stood in front of the cabinet that housed Artemis’ wet food cans and treats.
“A diet is a diet Artie.”
Satsuki let her tea leaves steep longer than necessary, making it strong and bitter. She poured her tea into a glass mug and carried it over to her balcony. She cringed as she took a seat, eyeing the way her potted forsythia was withering away, the yellow petals now brown and littering the concrete. Satsuki told Yamanaka that she wasn’t good with plants but she wouldn’t hear any of it and insisted Satsuki needed something other than her succulents to brighten up her little deck.
Yamanaka’s friends with Sakura…
Satsuki stared blankly into space. It was starting to get ridiculous how easily her mind drifted in her direction. She didn't want to think about her. Thinking about her made her think about how she wasn't suited for relationships and how she sort-of-kind-of wanted to be in one but there was no hope for someone like her.
Satsuki scowled and drained the rest of her tea.
I'm going to go to sleep and that's the last time I think of a pink haired cutie.
Satsuki pinched the bridge of her nose and muttered a string of curses. It was going to be a tough task. . .
Satsuki was ready to bang her head against something. How did she lose her fare ticket? She was so sure she had put it in her wallet.
What's worse is that she put the exact amount she was going to need and hadn't made any mistakes in the total fare.
Sighing, Satsuki dragged her feet to the fare card dispenser, ready to press the buttons more aggressively than necessary to purchase a new ticket.
Before she could pay for the card there was a breathy voice trying to catch her attention.
“Excuse me?”
Satsuki shut her eyes tight and turned around slowly. She opened up her eyes and almost screamed when she saw that Sakura was standing there holding out a metro pass outstretched in one of her pretty manicured hands.
“I think this belongs to you.”
Satsuki was sure there was a God of some sort and that they hated her.

How New York City’s Bars and Restaurants Are Pivoting to Alcohol Delivery
Tumblr media
Among all the understandable fears surrounding the COVID-19 coronavirus right now, New Yorkers faced a dilemma this weekend: Should the city’s residents offer their characteristic solidarity with those in the hospitality industry, by continuing to dine out in restaurants and bars (albeit under capacity caps), or should New Yorkers instead adhere to the strict government guidelines calling for social distancing?
Come Monday morning, that decision was made for them. In a joint decision announced by New York Governor Andrew M. Cuomo, New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy, and Connecticut Governor Ned Lamont, all bars and restaurants within the tri-state area were forced to close for on-premise service, and instead pivot to take out and delivery only, effective 8 p.m. EST.
For bars and restaurants, that announcement brought a glimmer of hope amidst unprecedented trying times. But it also raised new questions: First, how quickly can a business that primarily deals with guests inside its own four walls scramble to become a take-out and delivery operation? And second: How can they do so while still offering the hospitality that defines the industry?
At La Compagnie des Vins Surnaturels, one of the city’s leading wine bars located in Lower Manhattan, managing partner Caleb Ganzer and general manager and wine director Sam Stoppelmoor started working on a solution as soon as they heard the news.
Starting Monday evening, the bar will offer its complete wine list online — for delivery or take-out — with a 25 percent discount. The bar’s staff will take care of all deliveries, which they expect to offer within a limited area throughout Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens.
“We’re keeping as many people [working] here as we can,” Stoppelmoor says. “Taking care of our team and our community is the number one priority right now.”
As part of its new role as a wine delivery service, La Compagnie will deliver a curated selection of four “delicious and rare” wines for $95. Ganzer is currently recording an accompanying “Wine BootCamp” video, which will run on the bar’s YouTube channel and provide an educational guided tasting of the wines. (La Compagnie usually hosts regular educational Wine BootCamps at its Nolita location.)
The bar is also offering a limited selection of food from its Coco Catering menu, along with paired wines. At the time of writing, one such option includes a portion of burrata along with a bottle of Sancerre and a bottle of Malbec for $50.
The team is also discussing other ideas, including things like happy hour and even a “Somm on Call” service. For the latter, Ganzer and Stoppelmoor will make themselves available to receive calls for one or two hours every day, to suggest wines people should pick up from their local store based on what they’re cooking that evening. (They’re planning this as a free-of-charge service designed simply to share their expertise.)
“This is about keeping the industry going, but it’s also about all the people who are having to work from home for the next however long and [helping bring] peace of mind,” Stoppelmoor says. “We’re just trying to keep the vibe up.”
Meanwhile, at Please Don’t Tell (PDT), a notable East Village speakeasy that’s notoriously difficult to get into during normal times, general manager Jeff Bell is preparing to sell cocktails to go.
PDT is offering six single-serve cocktails (a third of its menu) for $12 each. Included on the menu is the bar’s famous Benton’s Old Fashioned, which pioneered the now-common practice of fat-washing spirits. (In this case, the Four Roses bourbon that offers the base of the cocktail is infused with bacon fat.)
As well as single-serve packaging, drinks will also be offered in 16- and 32-ounce servings, and priced accordingly. All drinks will be batched and prepared so they can be consumed straight from the bottle.
“We have enough inventory to do 600 to 1,000 cocktails today, and we’ll see how things go from there,” Bell told VinePair on Monday afternoon. “We never planned on PDT being a ‘to go’ business, but we’re making it happen.”
Far from this being a “fire sale,” the drinks will be delivered in attractive packaging bearing custom-made labels, and accompanied by garnishes. “We’re putting as much effort into it and making this as nice as possible,” Bell says.
Bell hopes thirsty New Yorkers will embrace the situation, so he can provide his hourly-paid staff with a financial cushion — especially as they may eventually have to register for unemployment benefits.
“Hopefully people are generous as hell with their tips,” he says. “I want to be home with my family, but at this point, I have to put all the resources and energy I can into doing this, so that I can help our team out, and so the business can come out on the other side.”
Balaboosta, a West Village restaurant offering Middle Eastern cuisine, is also preparing for a temporary period as an alcohol delivery service.
“When I heard the news this morning I immediately started editing the menu to make it suitable for takeout,” general manager John-Paul Quattrone says.
Starting this week, from Wednesday to Saturday, Balaboosta will offer take out and delivery between 5 and 10 p.m. Along with a reduced food menu, the venue will offer proprietary cocktails by the pint, 12- and 16-ounce bottles of beer, and full bottles of spirits for off-premise sales. The restaurant is also slapping a 50-percent discount on its wine list.
While the restaurant currently offers food delivery through third-party platforms like GrubHub and Relay, customers wishing to order alcohol will currently have to call the restaurant directly. (A banner on its website also urges customers to consider ordering directly in any case, as it avoids the fees associated with online services.)
For Quattrone, just like Stoppelmoor at La Compagnie and Bell at PDT, this unique situation provides the chance not just to help his staff, but to continue serving the community.
“We’ve got a tremendously loyal neighborhood crowd and we want to stay engaged with them,” he says.

65 Questions You Aren't Used To
(I know, it’s an ask meme, but... I just kinda want to do them all.  I LOVE this kinda stuff, it’s like writing a nifty journal entry for people that suck at journals, like me.)
1. Do you ever doubt the existence of others than you?  Um, no... they’re right there.
2. On a scale of 1-5, how afraid of the dark are you?  1.  I’m very comfortable in the dark.
3. The person you would never want to meet?  Donald Trump was the first to spring to mind.
4. What is your favorite word?  Popcorn.  (Because it visually appeals to me, and it feels nice to say.  I know, that made literally zero sense.  I know.)
5. If you were a type of tree, what would you be?  I always fancied myself a weeping willow, but there is literally nothing willowy about me.  Ooh, ooh, can I be a fruitless pear tree?!  They turn every color from yellow to purple in autumn and they’re so pretty!
6. When you looked in the mirror this morning what was the first thing you thought?  Probably something like, “Ew,” or “I need to shower,”.
7. What shirt are you wearing?  It’s cute!  It’s a gray tunic with a deep V in the front with lacing, and the words, “I’d Rather Not.”
8. What do you label yourself as?  Writer.
9. Bright room or dark room?  Bright when I’m working, dim when things are winding down, dark as sin when sleeping.
10. What were you doing at midnight last night?  Same thing I’m doing now, screwing around on Tumblr when I should be finishing up and going to bed.
11. Favorite age you’ve been so far? 17 was a good year for me, I found the other half of my heart.  Everything before and after was basically a crap shoot.
12. Who told you they loved you last?  My daughters.
13. Your worst enemy?  Probably myself.
14. What is your current desktop picture?  It’s doing a slideshow through my saved file of New Years pictures.
15. Do you like someone?  Romantically, just my hubby.  He’s awfully cute.
16. The last song you listened to?  Listening to “U and Ur Hand” by P!nk right now.
17. You can press a button that will make any one person explode. Who would you blow up?  No one wants me to have this responsibility.
18. Who would you really like to just punch in the face? I could prepare a list...
19. If anyone could be your slave for a day, who would it be and what would they have to do?  Oh geez, I have no idea.  Who wants to be my slave and clean my house?
20. What is your best physical attribute? (showing said attribute is optional)  My eyes!  I have pretty eyes.
21. If you were the opposite sex for one day, what would you look like and what would you do?  I’ve got no idea what I’d look like, I’ve got too much boob and hip going on.  I’ll be honest, I’d have to have at least one orgasm, because I’ve always wondered what the difference is.
22. Do you have a secret talent? If yes, what is it?  Secret?  Not really, I’m pretty open with all my talents.
23. What is one unique thing you’re afraid of?  Family members dying.  I’ve never had a close family member die, and I’m like... ridiculously afraid of that (especially my husband and kids), especially since I’m deeply religious.
24. You can only have one kind of sandwich. Every sandwich ingredient known to humankind is at your disposal.  The #11 at Jimmy Johns, plus bacon.
25. You just found $100! How are you going to spend it?  Probably on something stupid.  Discount Christmas shirts (I only have one), stuff on my wish.com list and Amazon list, that kind of thing.  Takeout from Arby’s.
26. You just got a free plane ticket to anywhere in the world, but you have to leave immediately. Where are you going to go?  Europe!
27. An angel appears out of Heaven and offers you a lifetime supply of the alcoholic beverage of your choice. “Be brand-specific” it says. Man! What are you gonna say about that? Even if you don’t drink booze there’s something you can figure out… so what’s it gonna be?  Um... yeah, I don’t drink so... maybe the rarest, most expensive liquor known to man.  I’ll sell it and be rich.
28. You discover a beautiful island upon which you may build your own society. You make the rules. What is the first rule you put into place?  No littering.
29. What is your favorite expletive?  I can’t say, I’m trying to quit.  (And it’s a bad one.)  If we’re doing PG rated expletives, I’ve taken to using “son of a nutcracker” and “oh my honk” pretty frequently...
30. Your house is on fire, holy shit! You have just enough time to run in there and grab ONE inanimate object. Don’t worry, your loved ones and pets have already made it out safely. So what’s the one thing you’re going to save from that blazing inferno?  LAPTOP.
31. You can erase any horrible experience from your past. What will it be?  I know what it is.  But I’m not telling all y’all because it’s horrifically embarrassing.
32. You got kicked out of the country for being a time-traveling heathen who sleeps with celebrities and has super-powers. But check out this cool shit… you can move to anywhere else in the world!  SCOTLAND.  It only gets, like, into the 70′s there in the summer.  I can dig that.  I’m a freaking polar bear.  (Do I get to pick the celebrities I get to fictionally sleep with, because I’ve prepared a list...)
33. The Celestial Gates Of Beyond have opened, much to your surprise because you didn’t think such a thing existed. Death appears. As it turns out, Death is actually a pretty cool entity, and happens to be in a fantastic mood. Death offers to return the friend/family-member/person/etc. of your choice to the living world. Who will you bring back?  Like, for a visit, or for permanent?  Because that’s different.  If it was for a visit, I’d bring back one of my two grandparents that have died.  I have QUESTIONS.  If it was for permanent... if an early term, miscarried baby counts, I’d bring back mine.
34. What was your last dream about?  I only get dreams when I’m in that weird “not 100% sleep” state, and man are they bizarre.... and I rarely remember them, but you can trust me that it was weird.
35. Are you a good….[insert anything you’d like here]?  Yes.  Yes I am.  Exceptionally.
36. Have you ever been admitted to the hospital?  Several times, yeah.  Most of them for baby things.  (I had the baby, I was not the baby.)
37. Have you ever built a snowman?  Oh yes.  Not yet this year though, not a really awesome snowfall yet, just a few inches.
38. What is the color of your socks?  I’m wearing neon pink and navy blue Black Widow socks that I got from my hubby for Christmas!
39. What type of music do you like?  Most of it.  Seriously.  Country, rock, pop, oldies, alternative, instrumental, show tunes, classical, movie scores, Disney, Celtic and Irish.... seriously.  Most of it.
40. Do you prefer sunrises or sunsets?  Sunsets, sunrises are full of tiredness.
41. What is your favorite milkshake flavor?  Depends on my mood, really.
42. What football team do you support? (I will answer in terms of American football as well as soccer)  I... don’t.  I’m not a sports person unless the Olympics are involved.
43. Do you have any scars?  Lots, yeah.  Biggest is my c-section scar(s), my favorite is the one on my middle finger from when I sliced it open trying to set up a trampoline.  Pro tip, wear gloves, because those springs can slice your finger open when pulled back and loosed.
44. What do you want to be when you graduate?  I’ve already graduated (high school, never went to college and I don’t regret it), I wanted to be married and happy.  I’ve mostly succeeded.  Still chasing happiness, but I get the golden moments enough that I can call it successful.
45. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?  Probably body size, mostly because they don’t have a lot of cute clothes in my size and I have no power to change that sad standard.
46. Are you reliable?  Almost 100%, yes.
47. If you could ask your future self one question, what would it be?  How does Infinity War and Avengers 4 end?
48. Do you hold grudges?  Big ones, yes.  Little ones, not so much.
49. If you could breed two animals together to defy the laws of nature, what new animal would you create?  Panda peacock.  Because a cute, cuddly panda with peacock colors?  Best.
50. What is the most unusual conversation you’ve ever had?  Someone trying to goad me into participating in one of their infantilization fantasies that made me feel extremely uncomfortable.
51. Are you a good liar?  I’m an excellent liar.  I shouldn’t be proud of that.  I am.
52. How long could you go without talking?  Does talking to myself count, because I do that a lot...
53. What has been you worst haircut/style?  The awkward between-phase after I did a shoulder-length bob and needed to grow it out again after my perm started to lose strength too.  Poof.
54. Have you ever baked your own cake?  Tons of times.  I made my own birthday cake this year.
55. Can you do any accents other than your own?  I do a pretty decent British (a few dialects), I can pull of Australian, Irish, Scottish, New Zealand, French, and occasionally Russian or German, as long as I get a good audio clip first to jump off of.
56. What do you like on your toast?  Butter, or butter with jam/jelly or cinnamon sugar.
57. What is the last thing you drew a picture of?  A terrible sketch of Marty the zebra from Madagascar for my three year old.
58. What would be you dream car?  A big honking pick-up truck with the full backseat and excellent gas mileage and fuel efficiency.
59. Do you sing in the shower? Or do anything unusual in the shower? Explain.  Okay, the way that is worded is hilarious.  I do sing sometimes, when I’ve got music going, but I am pretty quiet since neighbors.  I don’t usually do anything unusual, except sticking my loose hairs to the wall so I can wad them up and throw it all away rather than it going down the drain and clogging it.
60. Do you believe in aliens?  Not in the traditional sense, but I know we’re not alone.  It’s based in religion.
61. Do you often read your horoscope?  Rarely.  When it pops up in magazines from last year or whatever.
62. What is your favorite letter of the alphabet?  M, probably, for my name.  And, fun trivia, M is the 13th letter of the alphabet, which puts it smack in the middle.
63. Which is cooler: dinosaurs or dragons?  DRAGONS.  I’d have a dragon as a pet if I could.  Hagrid and Charlie Weasley would be over all the time.
64. What do you think about babies?  They’re cuuuute.  Most of the time.  Mine were cutest.
65. Freebie! Ask anything interesting you can think of.  If anyone thinks of something, do ask me.  I seriously love this stuff!

Organigram 2Q 2019 Earnings Review - Selling Cannabis Customers Want
Tumblr media
Bottom Line
Organigram put up a second straight quarter of solid results, reporting $27 million of net revenue that beat street estimates by 13%. Most importantly the company is selling cannabis the consumer wants to buy, demonstrated by a 90% increase in revenue in the company's second quarter with legal sales. Peers who report in the coming two months will likely show they struggled to grow revenue as the legal market gets off to a slow start. We are concerned however with an apparent decrease in selling prices. Across the board, Organigram saw flower and oil price declines of between 5%-17% quarter over quarter. If the industry is facing an acute supply crunch as many producers allege, why are legal cannabis prices falling? Rev/Gram, Rev/mL 1Q 2019 2Q 2019 QoQ Change Rec Flower  $5.09  $4.91 -4% Medical Flower  $6.87  $5.71 -17% Rec Oil  $0.96  $0.91 -5% Medical Oil  $1.72  $ 1.58 -8% Regardless of prices, Organigram continues to be the lowest cost producer in Canada and is the only producer to generate positive EBITDA post-legalization.   EBITDA per Gram Run Rate

Operational Review - OGI's Product is in Demand
Organigram's revenue increased ~90% from 12.4 M to 23.8 M on the back of a ~140% increase in sales of cannabis flower and equivalent, which doubled from 2,100 kg to 4,987 kg. This is positive news for Organigram as it shows they have quality products that are in high demand by consumers. The discrepancy between the increase in revenue compared to sales (90% increase compared to 140%) can be in part attributed to their lower sales prices across all products (recreation and medical cannabis oil and flowers). Their revenue per gram of $4.8 for the quarter left them near the bottom of the industry. QoQ Revenue Per Gram of Cannabis Produced
Tumblr media
Source: SEDAR, Grizzle Estimates Organigram's cannabis production was achieved on costs of $10.9 M, a quarter over quarter increase of 250%. Their gross margin of 12.9 M represented a quarter over quarter increase of 46% from 8.8 M. This significant spike in production cost (when compared to gross margin increase) likely stems from the higher costs associated with growing cannabis in the Canadian winters. For the upcoming warmer quarters, we expect to see a seasonal decrease in growing costs. Even with the jump, Organigrams production costs per gram of $2.2 leave them as the cheapest producer compared to peers. Production Costs Per Gram for Canadian Producers

Source: SEDAR, Grizzle Estimates   Overall, Organigram has a quarterly cash burn of $59 M compared to their total cash and equivalents of $208 M. This leaves them in the middle of the pack compared to peers, with only three companies holding more than 1.5 years of cash. However, as they are the only Canadian producer generating positive EBITDA, they are certainly in a much stronger position than most of their peers.
Organigram Continues to Improve Cannabis Production and Processing
In other developments, the phase 4 expansion of their Moncton facility is progressing, where they will be adding 92 incremental grow rooms by the end of 2019, which are expected to triple capacity to 113,000 kg per year. The company also announced another 56,000 square feet became available in one of their facilities in March and is being refurbished and designed for additional extraction capacity. This supports their push to improve extraction and processing capabilities for their focus area of vaporizers and edible products. Organigram also announced a new nano-emulsion for use in infused beverages that works on the body in only 10-15 minutes. The company is seeking an experienced partner to help them roll out an infused beverage brand later in 2019.
Organigram Remains Undervalued
Organigram is putting up results that put all the other licensed producer's to shame. As the company continues to execute there is no doubt the valuation discount to peers will shrink. Year to date performance has already matched much larger well-followed peers, showing that strong results are rewarded. Organigram remains one of the bright spots in a Canadian cannabis industry struggling to justify lofty valuations. 2020 Estimated EV/EBITDA
