REVIEW | Julie @ the National Theatre
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐ Tickets and more information: Running until: 8th September 2018 Production Photos by: Richard H Smith
Writer Polly Stenham has updated Strindberg’s classic play Miss Julie to London in 2018 in this bold yet minimalist production directed by Carrie Cracknell. Although this play is performed by three excellent British talent, at the core of it, I felt the play lacked depth within the…

National Theatre Revives War Horse for Armistice Day
To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Armistice War Horse will be revived by National Theatre in the Lyttelton Theatre for a strictly limited run.
It’s 1914 and there seems to be no stronger bond then that of Devon farm-boy Albert and his beloved horse Joey. Everything seems perfect until the bells of war ring out. When Captain Nicholls takes Joey across to France as one of the millions of War Horses Albert is heartbroken. He promises to find his best friend so they can live the rest of their lives together. Can Albert keep his promise or will the destruction of war separate the pair for good?
It’s been 11 years War Horse debuted at the Lyttelton Theatre and has since been seen by tens-of-thousands of audience members all over he world. This new production will be directed by Katie Henry and is currently touring the UK. Click here to read our review of the tour from when it opened in Bristol last Autumn.
War Horse will run at the National Theatre from the 8th of November till the 5th of January. For more information or to book tickets head to the official War Horse website.

Sharon D. Clarke as Ma Rainey
The English actress and singer starred in the revival of August Wilson's Ma Rainey's Black Bottom at the Lyttelton Theatre. Many of Rainey’s songs alluded to her presumed lesbian behavior.

Review: The Deep Blue Sea, National Theatre
Review: The Deep Blue Sea, National Theatre
Helen McCrory’s Hester leads the National Theatre’s The Deep Blue Sea through calm and tempest. She is reunited with director Carrie Cracknell following Medea, also at the National Theatre, in 2013. Hester has left a successful husband who still proposes to love her, for a man who will never give her everything she desires. Terrence Rattigan’s play is not just, though, a story of her two lives…

Saw Billie Piper in 'Great Britain' at the Lyttelton Theatre in London the 11th of August. She was STUNNING. This play is magnificent, and sends a strong message. Everyone who has the opportunity should see it. As a warning though; it continues elsewhere in London in September, but without Billie. And I'm not exaggerating when I say she's the star of this performance (although all of the actors were EXCELLENT, she's the lead and just... Wow).
