Happy 120th birthday to Peter Lorre!

Here is a small portrait I drew of him over the last week. The reference was a photo of him taken in the 1940s, I think.

Peter Lorre is in my top four favourite actors, I always love seeing him in a film. He’s also so fun to draw, he’s got such a great face! We share the same Zodiac sign too (Cancer the crab ♋️)!

I’m pretty happy with how this drawing turned out, it’s probably my most accurate so far. I wish my shading had been a bit less grainy; I think it’s because I (accidentally) used a 2B to shade instead of an HB, which is what I usually use for portraits this size. The suit didn’t really come out how I wanted it too either - I wanted it to look more like the one in last year’s drawing. But I don’t hate it, it’s just always annoying when it doesn’t come out like I intended.

I did my best to copy his signature at the bottom.

I decided to use a different guideline method as a base this time. Instead of starting with a circle and adding the jawline underneath which is what I usually do, I started off with a cross to get the right angle, then drew the outline around it. This turned out to be a lot quicker and somehow more accurate. Probably because I always spend way too long trying to draw a good circle in the right area of the page!

FINALLY! I did an art trade with @esparafuso (Gabi, I love you 😘) and we decided to draw each other's ocs! So I went with her oc, Lyrae. I wanted him dressed comfortably, so I put him in stuff mostly based off my own wardrobe hehe. I know you already saw wips of this Gabi, but I hope you enjoy the finished piece!! 😘😘💖💖💖

Happy Frankenstein day! 🫀⚡️

I drew this last year for Mary Shelley’s birthday (she’d now be 227 years old!). I wanted to do another for this year, but unfortunately I’ve been too busy with other things 😕 I wanted this drawing to look more realistic than this, but I was fairly happy with how it came out in the end. My reference was a portrait of Mary done in 1840 (I think).

I started reading the 1831 version of Frankenstein, or the Modern Prometheus this time last year after many months of trying to find a nice copy of the book. Mary is a constant inspiration to me, as an aspiring writer, especially as she was so young when she first wrote her masterpiece! I’d love to read some of her other stories.

ОБЗОР НА AQUA BRUSH ⠀ Приняла участие в челлендже от @anna.shakira.art и решила начать учиться красиво писать! Первые попытки были спиртовыми маркерами @sketchmarkersclub (кисть/долото), но мне захотелось попробовать кисти на водной основе. В этом мне помогла @artterritory.by 🖤 ⠀ ▪️STA AQUARELLE BRUSH Называется схватила, потому что "здесь и сейчас", хотя через AliExpress можно заказать набор из 12шт. за стоимость 4-х в магазине. Кисть довольно жёсткая и поначалу, после спиртовые маркеров, показалось неплохим вариантом. Имеет право на существование, но явно не мой фаворит. ⠀ ▪️UNI PIN FINE LINE BRUSH ⠀ Пользуюсь линерами @uniballrussia давно, и я их люблю, кисть не исключение. Но если раньше использовала его только для закрашивания фонов, то сейчас начала писать слова! Очень здорово, если нужны миниатюрные буквы, выходит симпатично, особенно, если уметь. ⠀ ▪️LYRA AQUA BRUSH Duo ⠀ А @lyra_feelcreative - фаворит из тех, что мне довелось попробовать. И цвет насыщенный, и кисть как продолжение руки. Ощущаешь её при каждом движении. Inktober Day 7 ! Ça fait une semaine et je tiens le coup, début de la nouvelle semaine demain et je pense que je vais changer de technique car j'aime bien celle d'aujourd'hui ! J'ai été contraint de remplacer mes feutres Lyra par un crayon aquarellable (ui j'ai pas de violet et c'était un thème). Donc je pense continuer avec les crayons, d'ailleurs j'ai aussi changé de pinceaux et c'est bien mieux pour appliquer des aplats ! Sinon G comme @gagabary Garrett, Gaz et (Blue) Gaya, Les thèmes donc sont Woodsman, Drunk de @kromitar , et Purple de @squigglewitch

인턴으로 일하고 있는 훈일이 그리기. 홍대 한가람문구센터에서 LYRA 수채 흑연 막대를 샀는데 그걸로 그려보았다. 집에서 붓 가져와, 물 뭍혀 명암 표현을 더했다.

Je les adore, ils sont tout petits (à peu près la taille de ma main), coloriages imprimés sur une seule face, papier de bonne qualité ! Ce sont des mandalas en forme de cercle, assez simples mais pas si abstraits que ça (ce qui me gêne dans la plupart des mandalas, colorier des formes géométriques répétitives qui ne représentent rien de particulier), il y a des petits animaux, des fleurs, des coquillages, des coeurs, des licornes, des sirènes, des pirates, des fruits...etc. Ca peut avoir l'air plutôt simplet au premier abord, mais chaque image peut être travaillée de manière plus ou moins complexe, avec du relief, des ombres, des dégradés... J'aime le fait qu'ils sont petits, faciles à transporter dans un sac à main ou une poche, et surtout rapides à colorier d'une traite (idéal si on veut faire un petit coloriage anti stress en quelques minutes. Par exemple, c'est ce que je prends en général pour patienter dans les salles d'attente avant un rendez-vous important ! Avec une petite trousse de quelques crayons dans mon sac à main).
