I've been sitting on a few rambles about Ace Attorney but I haven't had the time and/or attention span to type them out fully:
My thoughts about how Miles Edgeworth is so protective of Franziska von Karma, despite their complicated relationship and how heartwarming that is
How Phoenix Wright did the hardest job in the world cross examining Edgeworth in Turnabout Goodbyes and Maya in Bridge to the Turnabout - two times he had to question his closest friends on painful subjects to find the truth and give them closure
A list of family arrangement head canons for most of the recurring cast of the AA trilogy
Related to the above, my entire take on Gumshoe's backstory (most of which will end up in my upcoming fic)
The notes for my role reversal AU (also known as the Indictment AU) where Edgeworth takes the prosecution side against someone who hurt Phoenix as repayment for his friend defending him in Turnabout Goodbyes
I'm not sure when I'll elaborate on these points since my current fic has taken a front seat. But I wanted to share the bite sized versions for now just to get them out of my head.

Hi! I'm Ani (they/them), I'm a queer scientist, and I'm here to boost friends' creativity. Alas, I tend to panic over my own. I enjoy sending asks to support others' brainrot; I love getting asks, too. I tend to write about queer characters in my favorite universes where my blorbos can find a place they belong no matter what baggage they carry.
April 2024 update: Day Job has taken over my time (my life, really), so I'll be relatively quiet here and delayed in updating fanfic for a while.
Current fandoms: Attack on Titan (Shingeki no Kyojin), Pillars of Eternity, Umineko no Naku Koro Ni. (Forever fandoms include Dragon Age, Mass Effect, and the Legend of Heroes series.) Expect additional random content from various anime, manga, video games (like Potion Permit!), and novels. Plus lots of flailing reblogs showing off what others love. I like to ramble in the tags sometimes!
FYI, I'm making progress in Pillars of Eternity but am somehow still in Act 2 of my first BG3 run, so I am behind in my knowledge of these worlds, haha.
Main OCs I talk about here: Shion Miller (Attack on Titan), Natsuki (Pillars of Eternity), Vix Ternion (BG3), Neri Surana (Dragon Age), Lynn Shepard (Mass Effect), Winter Shepard (Mass Effect). Of these characters, I'm actively writing for Shion and Neri. I have a post to add/remove interest in being tagged for Shion's fic here. And this page offers a more detailed overview of my various OCs! This blog isn't always a positive space because real life is hard, but I strive to uplift others more often than not. My philosophy is people first: I adore seeing folx love on their favorite characters/ships/stories; I'm not here to take down real people for their tastes in fictional ones.
Ship art by the amazing @/lilithkb below~
OT3: what we have is each other (Hange/Levi/Shion, Attack on Titan)
OTP: what's unnamed still connects us (Neri/Anders, Dragon Age)
#pinned post#blog overview post#felt like it was time for an update given my now-long-lived AoT obsession lol#brainrot will brainrot

for the ask game
4. 11. 15. 17. 19. 25.
you can pick and choose ik thats a lot
Hi hello again Mono im waving!
4: Favorite things to draw?
I'm just gonna leave a list because if I explained all of em this would be an essay-
Folds in clothing
Pillows
Blankets
Fur
Hair
SIDE PROFILES
11: Favorite comment you’ve ever received on your work?
This is partly because it came from a very close friend of mine, but my personal favorite was when I showed them a sketch I did just fresh out the gate of art block- so you know it was rusty.
For the life of me I can't remember their exact words but I was just them gushing about how happy my art made them whenever I would draw THEIR characters. The fact that they looked alive- so expressive.
That comment will always have a special place in my heart.
15: Biggest artist pet peeve?
When you try to zoom in or hit crtl+z on a piece of paper. I will always bang my head on my desk.
17: What inspires you?
I would say something along the lines of other's art or pinterest in general but I feel like this fits-
Music. I freaking love music. I have so many playlists for my characters that its concerning(I made a video playlist for one of my rise ocs for fucks sake). So many of my ideas come from whenever I'm just imagining my characters dancing to music. Their backstories, for instance; Top of My School by Katherine Lynn-Rose will always be a win in this category.
19: Favorite character(s) to draw?
It always changes with whatever mood or fandom I'm in, but for the sake of this ask I'll just pick one to ramble about for a bit.
Claire will always be so frickin fun to draw for me. I mentioned that I like to draw hair above and she is a perfect example of that.
LOOKIT HER! HER HAIR IS MAGNIFICENT!
f l u f f y
25: Based on your recent reference searches, what would the FBI assume about you?
That I'm way too curious about skinny men.
#ask#artist ask#This was fun!!#thx u Mono#mutual#mutual ask#mono-chrono#i legit had to think for a minute on the pet peeve one lol#but then i was like oh nah this one#this one sucks LMAO#my art

#digiweek2021: a story 12 hours away 🕵️♀️
if you follow me long enough, you know i changed my profile picture very often. yet as i built the digiweek page and realised that we both use characters outside adventure as profile picture (jenrya being from tamers and izumi from frontier), i tried to keep it that way so that our participants know that we are embracing all the digimon series and not just one.
___
hi, this is sky.
so apparently, i didn't pass out.
there's a lot of things i want to tell you about Digiweek; about what happened before it actually started, about what happened during the week itself. note that this will be more like a VERY LONG rambling and appreciation to some people that's been very helpful to me. and yes, despite the picture above, this will be from my own point of view, not sam's (@tangledupblue).
more stories, bloopers, things that caused quite a ruckus, and screenshots this way!
on your mark,
the idea of this event came up after i constantly nagged about wanting to have a general otp event. you know i'm a die-hard multishipper and not all of my ships have their own event because they're either crack or minor ships. considering i'm old too tired to involve in every single otp weeks, i thought it would be nice to have an event where i can show some love to my favourite pairs at once.
when i found out about an event called digiotpweek existed, i really wanted to participate. hell, i was willing to help to organise the event since i currently have more free time after graduating and returning to my home country. i tried to mention them a few times in my post, expressing my interest and hoping that i'd get a response, but i didn't.
i came to lynn (@dutchforstrangers) who happened to participate digiotpweek a few years ago and also wanted to join should there is a similar event as we wait for the taiora week to come. was thinking about creating a new similar event, but it felt like stealing because we didn't actually ask digiotpweek for permission to use their idea.
our discussion somehow ended up with: how about creating a similar digimon event, but a more general one without specifically referring to pairings so that everyone who loves digimon can participate?
i started to think about the idea more seriously. it'd be a perfect opportunity too especially odaiba memorial day was coming in a few months. one of the biggest drives for me was when someone reblogged my graphics with a tag saying they were quite shock (in a good way) to find a post about digimon in year 2021.
i was like, "hey, we're here! we're pretty much alive!!"
but honestly, i was in doubt at first. i'm a new player here; i just literally made this earlgreymon blog last year thanks to lockdown. although i had some experiences organising online events (such as secret santa challenge in a roleplay forum i participated), tumblr is a different league and tbh it's a pretty scary place haha! when i organised an online event, it was with and for the people i've known previously and speak the same language. i could imagine a tumblr-based event would be more diverse in terms of participants.
yet again, i've been here almost a year and the people in digimon fandom has been very supportive :") so i thought to give it a try, but first i have to measure the hype because what's the point of concepting a whole event but no one wants to participate??
i began with conducting an interest check here. again, thank you so much to all of you who had filled the form!! i couldn't give you the whole result, but here's the part i thought would be interesting to share:
we have 23 participants in total and there's one (1) person who did not follow adventure. i was like confused and amazed (in a good way) at the same time. it's also interesting to note that any other universe outside adventure didn't even get 50%.
during this survey, i took a mental note that digimon is not only about anime: it's also about video games and even comic books. so that's why when i received this one input, i knew i actually had a very strong stance. yet again, when they said they wanted to drop out of the event, i couldn't help but feel disappointed in myself HAHAHA. sorry guys, i'm bad at handling rejection, especially i have a tendency as a people pleaser. but i consistently told myself that i will never make everyone happy.
anyway. i knew i cannot make everyone happy, but i can learn. and since i only watched adventure, 02, tamers, and frontier (a bit of watching savers and once played rumble arena quite religiously), i have to reach out to someone so i could make prompts that were applicable to all universe. the only person i knew playing digimon games was simon (@v-dramon) so i asked him a few questions before actually writing down the prompts.
in terms of conducting a tumblr event, i decided to reach ayushi (@ashandpikachu) who was the person behind tri week 2020 and gen (@animegenork) who is the captain of the takari week. the questions were more technical because i was unfamiliar with tumblr ecosystem (e.g. should i make a sideblog? should it be a separate account?).
and finally, i knew i have to search for a comrade to have some opinion about stuff. i preferred to search for someone who lived in a different timezone because i realised i'm in a very odd timezone compare to other people in digimon fandom. i was about to ask lynn, but i was too shy and afraid i was going to meddle with her time (sorry lynn, i really hope you're not offended >///<).
so what i did was.... passively waiting for someone to come and volunteer. i was a total chicken, i know.
but someone did come. one fine day, sam messaged me saying that she'd be willing to help. i thought about her being in the american side of the world, and i said, "perfect. let's get to it."
___
get set,
the original google docs for digiweek! yay!
when sam joined in, i actually had set out the general concept of the event already. i had assigned some prompts to certain days, taking some ideas from the survey as consideration. i had also written down some narration to elaborate the prompts further to sam, in addition to serve a personal note to myself because i'm a very forgetful person.
these narrations eventually became the prompt walkthrough that we had posted before the event because we thought like it would help the participants to brainstorm :D
i was also taking a peek at some of the digimon events such as tri week and the otp weeks. i was more comfortable with general/one-word prompt model, but i was also interested in questions format (like digimon 30 days challenge and 02 appreciation challenge, credit to respective owners) because i felt like questions can be adopted more easily by someone who doesn't want to make fanart/fanfic. as you know, we ended up using both formats and i should say it's a pretty good call.
i was quite firm to keep this event as general as possible. that was why we regretfully had to strike some prompt ideas like "crest" and "odaiba" because these terms are very, very adventure-centric. however, i myself also proposed some weird prompts myself which made sam frowned in confusion lmao.
for example, on day 4, the original prompt was "evil" HAHAHA. this was because i wanted the antagonist to obtain more spotlight (a.k.a. THIS WAS SUPPOSED TO BE THE DAY TO WORSHIP ETEMON-SAMA) for the sake of diversity. sam proposed to change it with "heaven/hell" or "day/night" so it would emphasise more on two contrasting things, but we finally settled on dark/light. also, originally, "home" should be on day 6 and "dream" should be on day 7 before we switched them.
we wrapped up things quite quickly. with the help of ayushi, we managed to adopt tri week's rules so we could focus on other things. i started to build the digiweek blog, we also discussed the timeline, and finally we launched the digiweek blog on june 20th! woohoo!!
while i queued some announcements, sam mostly handled the askbox. we also tried to actually work on our submissions, but not because we had the headstart advantage (trust us, we were also slacking off with our own submissions). we needed to make sure that it was doable to make seven contents in one month (although of course we did not expect all the participants to constantly submit something every single day) because if we weren't able to do it ourselves, it was possible other participants would also struggle.
we were very excited to receive some positive responses, and the amount of reblogs was amazing! of course we also saw those who said that they couldn’t make it due to some stuffs, and yes we’re sad. i’m trying my best as #SkyFromMarketing to persuade some people to still join, especially people that i enjoy their contents so much. i didn’t know if eri (@himetsundere) would be busy or not during digiweek, but look: i need at least one (1) mimato content on digiweek and i knew she wouldn’t disappoint 🤡 i also acknowledged that noct (@sorasfishing) was very busy with rl, but we managed to find some way for her so that she could still participate—and gurl, look at those fabulous makeups...
we also giddily discussed how to answer every time there's a question came to our askbox. however, it wasn't all rainbows because we did face some questions that made us feel uncomfortable.
one time, we received a question from anon asking why we prohibited incest. we had a VERY long discussion about this, but after some careful thought, we decided not to answer this because:
we stand firm with the rules. we both have siblings and we are uncomfortable with this. with incest, there was also a huge possibility of non-consensual age gap relationship content which is also a red flag.
it's not like we necessarily prohibited you to write/draw about incest; we just won't reblog it.
since it was asked anonymously, we weren't sure if the question was pure out of curiosity or just trolling us. we did not want to take the risk by starting controversy even before the event started. no offense to the anon who actually asked this question, but if you really wonder why we actually prohibited it, above is our reasons.
unfortunately, not long after we decided so, sam received another anonymous question on her personal blog; now asking whether age gap is allowed on digiweek. that was where we decided to turn off anonymous questions momentarily. at least if anyone wants to question our stance on this, the best way is to come forward without hiding behind anonymous.
i personally felt that this was appalling. look: there are two mods in digiweek, but when it comes to this event, we are one. we’re in the same boat. when my co-mod received a personal offence because of digiweek, you’re offending me too. i won’t take the whole credit for digiweek because sam and i worked equally hard for this.
to avoid some bias, i turned off the option to let everyone see who's the person behind a post or a reblog on digiweek although if your ‘keep reading’ turns into some spanish words that was obviously reblogged by sam. we also worked in a shift that we kept private (we hinted it once, but we never exactly tell you our shift, right? ;p) because again, i believe you didn’t have to know who’s reblogging your submission.
now that we finished with the event, i think we could share it, huh?
___
go,
i am a perfectionist. sam has her own ocd. that’s why we quickly agreed on one thing.
spreadsheet. we have to keep the track of the submissions with a spreadsheet. this might sounded extreme, but the spreadsheet was actually helpful to know which submission has been reblogged and by whom it was reblogged. the spreadsheet also let us know if we had reached 100th submission and so on.
yellow is sam, pink is me. takari forever.
in addition, the spreadsheet helps because we worked with a shift, so every time we started a shift, we could just take a look at spreadsheet and see how far our comrade had come. it is interesting to note that the time difference between jakarta (gmt+7) and mexico city (gmt-5) is 12 hours, so we actually always have the same time and the difference is only on am/pm. if it’s 10pm in jakarta, it’s 10am in mexico city. this is where we’re relieved i’m no longer live in australia because imagine the extreme time difference...
we always begin our shift at 7am our respective local time, which means i started my shift at 12am gmt and sam started her shift at 12pm gmt. it’s easy to mark the shift change because that’s when we both always post our own submission. so if you see me posting a submission on earlgreymon every 12am gmt, that was when sam ended her shift by putting my submission on digiweek’s queue and vice versa.
the funny thing is i’m an early bird, so i was always on my best period as i started my shift. however, sam is a night owl, so she always started her shift as a zombie. that’s how this meme show up lmao.
also, we always started to reblog contents for the new day at 7am gmt. we carefully chose this because as per our knowledge, the westernmost participant is in PST, so we tried to wait for our digipals in PST to actually enter the same day. the beginning of a new day will always be marked with digiweek reblogging my submission (except on day 1 and day 7) because i was always the first to submit my content lol. #leadingbyexample #lifeofGMT+
nevertheless, timing wasn’t a big issue. our biggest hell was tagging.
we understand that there’s a lot of naming variation in digimon. fusion and xros wars. jyou, jou, and joe. taiyama, taito, and yamachi. again, as perfectionists, we were trying our best to put some attention to detail, so we decided to put up a system for our tagging:
we’ll put tags in order of #digimon, #digiweek2021, #day [...], #universe, #characters, #relationship, #[@/submitter], #typeofcontent
and yes, all lowercase
we’ll use the japanese name on digimon fandom wikia, but for human characters, we will also look up fanfiction.net
we won’t use pair names and replace them with ao3′s relationship tagging
i won’t even bother to explain how we would decide if a post should be tagged as a certain universe and relationship because until this very day, i’m still hella confused...
but anyway, the event went on. on our first day, we were too excited so we reblogged everything AT ONCE lmaoooo. realising the traffic was so dense, we tried to reblog stuffs every 20 minutes or so.
the event itself went pretty well. mods didn’t have many differences for the whole week. usually, our problems were how we should tag a reblog (again), whether a content violated our rules, and if a content should be given a trigger warning. for these reasons, some posts will be reblogged quite late because we had to wait for one another to wake up first. once, sanni (@seventeenlovesthree) posted a taishiro fanart that we thought is in a borderline due to age-gap romance. and yes, we are very sensitive to this topic due to the questions we received previously as i have told you above. i sincerely apologise for the inconvenience, sanni :(
the heaviest argument would be on day 4 when someone posted a political content. tell you the truth, i was veryyyy uncomfortable because i didn’t thought someone will put a political issue on an animanga/game-related event. but sam convinced me that it is a peaceful protest and it was more of a cultural stuff. i was quite adamant about my stance not reblogging this, but she managed to change my mind even with some precautions i wanted to be fulfilled lmao thanks for tolerating me.
on to the bright side, WE DIDN’T THINK THAT THE AMOUNT OF SUBMISSIONS WOULD SKYROCKET TO MORE THAN 300!! like i had predict that it wouldn’t be more than 100, but we broke that record on third day and that was crazy!! people, are you ok?????
not gonna lie, i am SUPER OVERWHELMED. sometimes i would go crazy and made hilarious mistake. as you know, i’m not that attached to tri, so characters like daigo and maki aren’t really familiar to me. when i had to tag maki, i almost really tagged her as kappa maki because i didn’t know her name.
the worst part was when i reblogged jill’s (@sunnquy-lavendrr) submission, which was a taishiro submission. i SWEAR TO GOD i thought i have tagged #koushiro/taichi in the post, but jill sent a message saying that i forgot to tag em. when i checked, apparently i was tagging them with #KOUSHIRO/IZUMI LMAOOOOOOO.
aaaandddd finally.... we didn’t expect that the range of the content was very diverse. we received not only fanfics and fanarts, but also makeups, cover song, poems, and especially your raw, beautiful stories of you and digimon. we’re so happy that you share the story with us :)
___
finish line,
digiweek 2021 is over. we will still accept late submissions, even though maybe we’re not going as responsive as the week itself. there’ll be some housekeeping to do but... yeah, this crazy week has basically ended.
i’m not sure whether we will have another digiweek for now. that really depends on the post-event survey. and even if we have another one, there’s no guarantee i can become the mod again. i have a history of going m.i.a. from tumblr last year and history might repeat itself. but hey, if i’m not the mod, sam is still here. and even if sam cannot become a mod again, we’re always welcome if you want to adopt the event and keep the digimon spirit going!! do reach us out or if we both really, really going m.i.a. from tumblr, go and try your luck by reaching out @/pyokoromochi on twitter or even email me at [email protected].
now, firstly, i want to apologise if i have made some mistakes during the event, whether it’s deliberate or not. this event is far from perfect, i know. i am sorry if i have ever offended you and i shall learn from the experience itself.
i want to thank every single participants that i cannot mention one by one. not only those who participate in the actual week, but for those who had filled the interest check and stay with us until the very end. thanks for all the inputs and your enthusiasm.
i want to thank lynn, because if i didn’t talk to her at the first place, we wouldn’t even have the event :) you’re rock, lynn. sorry for not be able to help with the taiora discord, but i hope it’s gonna be thriving and excited to see more taiora content woohoo.
lastly, thank you to sam. i understand if you want to choke me sometimes and probably scream “this will be easier if you speak spanish!” 🤣🤣🤣 thanks for volunteering to this tedious job, but i couldn’t ask for a better partner. we’ve talked a lot during these couple of months, even some talks outside digimon itself. thanks for always supporting me and having my back. te quiero mucho, mi amigo!
thanks if you’re reading until the very end. stay safe and merry like a butterfly wherever you are, my digipals <3

“There’s Always More Show”; A Bojack Horseman Essay
It’s about time I talked about one of the finest ongoing shows in animation right now. I. LOVE. Bojack Horseman. I must have binged the whole series 5 times at this point, and it’s rare for even my absolute favorite shows to get me to do that. The dialogue is so poignant I have entire exchanges between characters burned into my memory. The jokes and societal commentary are so on point that many lines have gotten me to burst out laughing among company. The characters themselves are so complex, so filled with depth, that they are all well deserving of their own analysis. The writing is SO tight and the storytelling so consistently engaging that I hang onto every little detail. I swear they foreshadow events from as late as season 4 and 5 as early as season 1. Even it’s animation, while admittedly pretty primitive character rigging with a handful of noticeable errors, takes some amazing creative liberty at times, particularly with subjectivity in the drug trips. While the art design has taken a few people off guard for it’s blinding colors and it’s premise has discouraged a less open minded audience with it’s animal-human hybrids living among people, those who stick with the show will get a sophisticated while simultaneously wacky romp that is both the silliest and most real show you can watch right now. So with a show this dense that has characters this deep, there are many themes it tackles such as the perpetual meaninglessness of existence or the pursuit to being a good person, but there’s a more central theme Bojack keeps bringing up which I’d like to talk about.
Oh and, uh, Spoilers incoming for Bojack Horseman . . . obviously. Get Netflix and watch all of this show right now before reading. seriously. But for those reading who don’t care about spoilers but are interested in what makes Bojack so great and may like to watch it themselves, here’s a brief summary:
Bojack Horseman (played by Will Arnett) Is a horse-man hybrid living out the so called “glamorous” life style in Hollywood, Los Angeles (later called “Hollywoo” in the series for reasons I won’t spoil here). Out of work, out of shape and out of touch, Bojack wastes away his days in sorrow as a past-his-prime actor who goes day to day being disrespected. Back in the 90s he was the star of a very famous “full house”-esque sitcom called “Horsin’ Around” and he longs for the days where he was in the prime of his life, but nowadays he mostly just sits around the house watching old reruns of his show. He constantly struggles with depression, dependancy on narcotics . . . and the ongoing guilt he feels for every shitty thing he’s done in life . . . and as viewers will no doubt find out . . . Bojack has a LOT of baggage. He finds new friends in life like his responsible ghost writer of his memoir Diane Nguyen (played by Alison Brie), his easygoing freeloader and best friend Todd Chavez (played by Aaron Paul), his happy go lucky Labrador rival Mr. Peanutbutter (played by Paul F. Tompkins) and his workaholic pink cat agent Princess Carolyn (played by Amy Seradis). The show centres around his ongoing relationships with these people as well as their own journeys of self discovery . . . and the occasional wacky schemes. Through his surrounding positive influences can Bojack learn to grow past his personal demons? Or will his shitty tendencies and depressing outlook permanently spoil the lives of the people closest to him like he so often fears?
Spoilers begin NOW
In what is perhaps my favorite episode of the show, episode 6 of Season 5 titled “Free Churro”, Bojack gives an improvised eulogy for his recently deceased mother . . . and that’s it. The episode is just a full 20 minutes of Bojack talking about his dead mom . . . and struggling to find anything positive to say about her. His mom was nothing but cold, hard and abusive to Bojack his entire life and Bojack laments about how he never received a single loving gesture from his mother for as long as he’s known her . . and now that she’s dead that chance is permanently gone. In his ramblings, he mentions an episode of Horsin’ Around in which the writers juice the idea of main cast character Olivia leaving the show for good, only for her to be written back into the status quo, because as Bojack puts it
“Of course that’s what happened, because what are you gonna do? Just not have Olivia on the show? You can’t have happy endings in sitcoms -- not really -- because if everyone’s happy, the show would be over, and above all else the show has to keep going. There’s always more show. (And) You can call Horsin’ Around dumb, or bad, or unrealistic, but there’s nothing more realistic than that. You never get a happy ending, because there’s always more show.”
That right there sums up the entire ongoing struggle of every character in this show. In many ways, Bojack Horseman the Netflix series is like a typical sitcom turned upside down. You have an ongoing setup of colourful, over the top characters doing outrageous things for our amusement, and in a lot of ways they’re actually terrible people but they’re just SO endearing that we have to keep tuning into their antics. Much like how an average Friends episode is about every titular friend trying haphazardly to cover up a lie for 20 minutes when their problems would so easily be over if they just had the maturity to be honest about how they’re feeling, characters like Bojack, Todd and Mr. Peanutbutter are always up to something silly whether it’s poorly covering up a lie or coming up with elaborate sabotages for selfish ends. But there’s one core difference. In Friends, everybody forgives each other in the end. In the gritty and merciless world of Bojack Horseman . . . every wrongdoing has long term consequences, some of which can never be forgiven.
Bojack’s antics especially cause permanent stains on his relationships. When he sabotaged Todd’s rock opera by getting him readdicted to a video game so he wouldn’t leave, he permanently makes a wound in his and Todd’s relationship. He only makes it worse when he has sex with Emily, Todd’s best friend and kinda-sorta girlfriend. Todd had faith in Bojack early on in the show, but he makes it apparent later on that the less he has to do with Bojack the better off he is. Todd’s an easygoing friend that can forgive easily, but Bojack really tests his patience. As he said once he found out Bojack had sex with Emily
“You can’t keep doing shitty things and then feel bad about yourself like that makes it okay. You need to be better.”
In the luxurious yet phony and superficial world of Hollywoo, everyone has an outlook on life as if it’s a sitcom. The center of mass produced film and television has everyone believing in achieving against the odds, amending their wrongs in the end and getting satisfying conclusions as if the credits of their very own movie will roll any second. But real life keeps on hitting these characters like a truck, as if to say “there is no happy ending , you aren’t the main character and the harm you’ve caused is permanent. Get used to it.” Bojack gets his hard hitting reality more prominently than anyone. He keeps looking for backdoor solutions to his pain like getting back with Charlotte, starting a new Horsin’ Around spinoff, finding meaning far away from L.A. or straight up finding solace in drugs, but every solution to his search for meaning ends in him hurting somebody else even more. He has to separate the idea from his head that shitty things like nearly sleeping with your old friends daughter is just a wacky sitcom hijinks situation, and that the guilt he feels is just an ongoing conflict he feels every day. He even tries at one point to get forgiveness from his old show writer Herb Kezzaz after betraying him, only to be greeted with Herb saying
“No. I’m not going to give you closure. You don’t get that. You have to live with the shitty thing that you did for the rest of your life.”
Sometimes Bojack will go to more silly extents for his so desired “happy ending”, like humming his own credits as he embraces Sarah Lynn when she comes out of rehab.
But as screwed up as Bojack is, he’s not the only one who’s mind is warped by the empty promise of a “happy ending”. Diane Nguyen, for as much as she comes off as the moral compass of the show who isn’t afraid to call anyone out for their bullshit, is what I like to call “Bojack lite”. While she’d be grossly offended by the accusation that she’s anything like Bojack, she shares a lot of his toxic traits. Sure, she’s not actively life ruining for anyone, but she has a tendency to harshly criticize people as a means to deflect any criticism towards herself and she often manages to find the negative connotation to even the best of situations. Also, she struggles with getting drunk a lot too, which is often enabled by Bojack. Diane makes a lot of rash decisions in her life hoping she’ll find some sort of “happy ending”. She married Mr. Peanutbutter longing for a simpler, more laid back life for she just settles down with her loving husband. However, unwilling to keep up with Mr. Peanutbutters love for spontaneity and grand gestures, she ends up divorcing him, deciding instead to try and find solace in being her own woman who doesn’t need a mans affection to be happy . . .but that leaves her empty too. Every time she gets what she asked for, she ends up having to fight all the challenges that go with it, and those challenges end up obscuring her vision of that made her want that thing in the first place. She thinks it’s something wrong with her, like she just can’t ever be satisfied.
“Why can’t I be happy? Am I busted?!”
If we’re comparing each Bojack Horseman character to standard sitcom fare, Mr. Peanutbutter likely comes the closest to fitting the mold of what we expect from a likable television comedy protagonist. Everyone loves him. He’s endearing, he’s funny, he’s sweet. He makes silly mistakes but has a good heart, and even if he does touch some raw nerves along the way he can usually win his audience back with some sort of grand gesture. If Diane is Bojack Lite, then Mr. Peanutbutter is the yin to Bojack’s yang. They live virtually the same lives to a point where Mr. Peanutbutter even got famous off of what is blatantly a knock off of Horsin’ Around, The key difference though is that while Bojack is incurably pessimistic, Mr. Peanutbutter is obnoxiously optimistic, and why wouldn’t he be? He sees the good in everything and everyone and manages to get his way shearly through people loving him. He never has to learn anything because nobody ever challenges him. But that precisely is the rub. Mr. Peanutbutter is a cautionary tale about what would happen if you DID get that life full of happy endings and comfortable conclusions. Much like how many a sitcom protagonist never learns to tell the truth or to take responsibility for their own health, Mr. Peanutbutter never grows past his mistakes. It’s why he always does grand gestures for Diane despite her repeating several times that she doesn’t like them. It’s why he keeps dating women much younger than himself. It’s why he keeps getting divorced. He never takes any kind of long term lesson from what happens to him and never evolves as a person. Nowhere is this more prominent than in Season 5. Whenever Mr. Peanut butter does something wrong, he’s usually blind to the responsibility he must take to it. He either dismisses it as somebody else being mean or unreasonable or he makes an empty promise to not do it again. But for the first time ever, he partakes in betraying somebody he cares about. After divorcing Diane and getting with Pickles the Pug waitress . . . he has sex with Diane again behind Pickles’ back. This time there’s nobody to blame but himself . . and he doesn’t know how to deal with the fact that he did an unforgivably shitty thing. In fact, he’s the least equipped character to do so in the whole show. He even pleads for Diane to break the news to Pickles and tries to force a silver lining by getting back with Diane as a result of it. In the season finale, when Mr. Peanutbutter has to tell the awful truth and knowingly hurt somebody close to him . . .much like a sitcom character, he instead pulls a happy ending out of his ass and decides to propose to Pickles instead. He actively decides not to do the tough, but right decision, and thus does not evolve. This is especially interesting in the finale because, for the first time ever, Bojack is a step ahead of Mr. Peanutbutter when it comes to committing to making things right. After Bojack nearly strangles Gina to death on his drug high, he turns himself into rehab with the help of Diane and starts taking real steps to self improvement. In contrast, Mr. Peanut butter . . . is just up to his same old tricks.
You wanna talk about reaching that sitcom happy ending? It’s all this workaholic cat ever thinks about. Princess Carolyn leads life with the philosophy that with enough grit and go-getter attitude you can make anything happen for yourself . . . and to an extent that actually serves her pretty well. She gets out of her hick town to pursue her dreams as an agent and whenever the other characters are knee deep in their own mess she’s always the one with the solution to get them out. She compulsively helps people while refusing to take help for herself because . . well, she wants a happy ending . . .but she wants to be the one responsible for it. She had an opportunity as a kid to have everything in her life decided for her but once she had her miscarriage and that dream fell apart, she instead decided to pursue a career in the big city. She made tons of sacrifices to get where she is including leaving her own mother, and she’s also afraid of falling into the same trap of dependency she almost fell into as a kid again. That’s why she rejects Ralph Stilton’s offer to help her with her adopted baby, even though he’s irrefutably the best boyfriend she ever had. Time and time again Princess Carolyn will willingly be pushed right up to the edge before she accepts any kind of help, because she thinks doing so is a sign of weakness. She keeps herself motivated with fantasies about that wonderful happy ending, whether that means living in a cottage in a beautiful painting or succeeding enough that some future ancestor can give her class a family heritage report all about what a great ass kickin’ gal she is. While Princess Carolyn is definitely the most well adjusted and most durable to the constant hustle and beating down of reality, she’s got her own toxic tendencies as a result of thinking she’s a main character. She thinks she’s got to do everything on her own . . . . and if she doesn’t get past that insecurity soon, it may swallow her whole.
At long last we come to mr. Todd Chavez, the endearing little brother of Bojack Horseman’s family of main characters. Upon first glance, Todd seems the least prepared for life’s harsh reality out of all our leads. He’s a 20-something year old with no real job, no real responsibilities and no real goals in life. He’s very upfront and honest about how he spends his time, be it spending all day watching Youtube videos . . . or building a knockoff Disneyland. And yet, when we analyze him with the thesis that these “sitcom characters” are all trying to get by in a cruel and merciless world, we suddenly realize that ironically . . . Todd grows the most naturally out of everyone. Bojack lets Todd down time and time again and rather than accepting status quo as God like many a sitcom character might do, he takes it upon himself to distance his relationship with Bojack. He initially has faith in Bojack to be better, but doesn’t beat around the bush when he’s lost his faith in him. When he realizes that he was nothing in common with Yolanda aside from being asexual, he breaks up with her before prolonging the painful inevitable. The cast of Bojack Horseman go through their share of changes in what they want and who they want to be, but Todd is always the one who knows what he needs and makes an honest effort to be better. He’s surprisingly wise for an adult manchild flunky. But he gets up to wacky sitcomish schemes too, about as much as Mr. Peanutbutter (who is often his partner in crime with these things) . . . yet even then through his ernestness and cuttthroat honesty he manages to overcome better than the other characters.
Conclusion:
*decided to include this gif because i love the animation in it*
Hollywoo is a world of sitcom characters pulled out of the TV and trying to get by in everyday life under the harsh, uncompromising grip of reality. In a culture so entrenched in it’s ideals of maintaining superficial likability and celebrating yourself no matter what you do or who you hurt, each character’s mind is warped into buying the illusion that for how screwed up they are there’s a happy ending waiting at the end of the horizon for them. They all deal with it with different levels of success. Some take change in life with stride like Todd. Some think they found their happy ending but only remain empty like Diane. Some get everything they ask for and thus never evolve and never better themselves like Mr. PeanutButter. Some cling on for deal life as they get everything thrown at them, believing that they’ll be rewarded in the end, like Princess Carolyn. And then . . . some are a depressing cocktail of all of those things. They have opportunity land at their feet and think they’ve finally done the thing that will preserve them, only to find themselves empty. They work through the pain in their life hoping that at any point they’ll get some grand gesture or reward that makes everything they endured worth it, only for that chance to become officially non existent. But occasionally . . . very occasionally . . . they do something wonderful and heartfelt and sincere that maintains a glimmer of hope for their capacity to be better. That is Bojack Horseman. Bojack hurts the people closest to him much like his parents did. He remains bitter and sad and petty and self important . . . but he IS better than his folks. He’s like his late mom . . . only for him the grand gesture really does come.
But as Bojack says
“The grand gesture isn’t enough. You have to be consistent. You have to be dependably good. You can’t just screw everything up and then take a boat out on the ocean to save your best friend or solve a mystery and fly to Cansas. You need to do it everyday, which is so . . . hard.”
The truth is, all of these characters, even Bojack, have the potential to be better as long as they deconstruct their worldview shaped by watching television. They have to rid themselves of the illusion. The illusion that there’s some great happy ending that’s going to make all the pain worth it. The only ending in life . . . is death. Until then, there’s always more show. Time’s arrow neither stands still nor reverses; it always marches forward. There will be days these characters make mistakes and days they do great things . . how much they do of either is up to them. Sometimes they’ll do things that they will never get closure for . . things that can’t be forgiven . . . but that doesn’t ruin their capacity to do right the next day. Bojack’s right . . .it IS hard to do better every single day. But as the jogger near Bojack’s house says “It gets easier”.
And my essay concludes . . . .riiiiiiight after this anecdote.
I think what makes Bojack Horseman so special is that it holds up a mirror to how a screen infested world has permanently warped our sense of self worth and our understanding of how life really works. In a way, we’re all “sitcom characters” roaming around real life. We think of ourselves as the main characters of our stories, that there’s some sort of satisfying conclusion waiting for us. That we can win whoever we want back with a grand gesture and that we never have to evolve, we just have to be “good enough” . . .and that’s all . . SO wrong. That mentality makes us toxic. It makes us self important and hypocritical and petty, while also leaving us empty. It makes us incomplete. We all have to learn that there’s no ending until we die, that we have to do good every day . . . and that we aren’t the main character. Everyone is important. Maybe we’ve been watching too many sitcoms and have had these fallacies drilled into our heads . . . and maybe Bojack Horseman is like a rehab for those bad tendencies. As Princess Carolyn points out in the finale of Season 4
“I got into this business because I love stories. They comfort us. They inspire us. They create a context for how we view the world. But also you have to be careful because if you spend a lot of time with stories you start to believe that life is just . . . stories. And it’s not. Life is life . . . and . . .that’s so sad, because . . .there’s so little time and . . . what are we doing with it?”

“I’ll be on Sumire Bridge. Find me, and tell me everything.”
Commission I got from my beloved friend @harblkun of one of my favorite scenes in the game. Spoiler rambling under the cut.
There’s something bone chilling about the whole scene where young Tetsuya Ida drops out of the Sentinel onto Sumire bridge and introduces himself and asks “You’re Chihiro Morimura, aren’t you?” as a f8ful struggle plays. The way they hurtle off into the sunset and how that one scene puts into motion so much of the game as we know it…. they’re young and innocent and about to go through so much…it hurts! Maybe sometime I’ll get Iori and Shu in a similar style.
Harb actually drew this just based on my own descriptions/screenshots and actually has no idea what this scene besides that is about so round of applause for mighty Harbles ‘o’ hopefully one day she’ll get to enjoy the game…

On Miyuki Inaba and Macross:
I’ve heard nothing but love for wave 2-10 of destruction; but I’ve realized that the scene loses some of its magic for western audience because they don’t know it’s a shout out.
So today I want to break down for you today the biggest reference in 13 Sentinels you most likely missed out on; Miyuki Inaba, Lynn Minmay and The Super Dimensional Fortess Macross.
Join me under the cut for massive spoilers for Sentinels of course, and a nearly 40 year old anime you’ve never seen.
I think everyone knows Sentinels is chock full of sci-fi shout outs. From War of the Worlds, to Terminator, The Matrix, heck even GroundHog’s day, the list goes on and on. Most western audiences will be able to spot the bulk, so why haven’t you heard of Macross?
Simply put, copyright battles. In 1985, Hamorny Gold stitched together three unrelated animes to create Robotech. One of the anime series involved was Macross and Harmony Gold has kept a tight leash on the copyright preventing the series from ever getting a real proper English release ever since.
...so what is Macross?
Well, in super blunt Wikipedia stolen summaries:
Macross (マクロス, Makurosu, English: /məˈkrɒs/) is a Japanese science fiction mecha anime media franchise/media mix, created by Studio Nue (most prominently mechanical designer Shōji Kawamori) and Artland in 1982. The franchise features a fictional history of Earth and the human race after the year 1999, as well as the history of humanoid civilization in the Milky Way. It consists of four TV series, four movies, six OVAs, one light novel, and five manga series, all sponsored by Big West Advertising, in addition to 40 video games set in the Macross universe, 2 crossover games, and a wide variety of physical merchandise.
If you asked me to boil the series down to it’s three staples I’d pick the following three elements. Big robot fights, love triangles and music, usually all interplaying together to make some of the most exciting fight scenes in anime.
The series is going strong in Japan ever since its 1982 release, with the most recent series Macross Delta’s newest film “Absolute Live!!!!!!” getting its first teaser trailer days before I sat down to write this post. It’s insanely big in Japan and you’ve probably seen a half dozen Macross references if you’ve watched a sci-fi anime before. Most likely the signature missile blast.
Sentinels pulls specifically from the 1984 film: the Super Dimensional Fortress Macross: Do You Remember Love? The story is largely a shortened version of the first tv series which aired in 82 and is considered in canon a film retelling of the events.
The film focuses on a colony ship adrift through space suddenly being attacked by an alien race called the Zentardi, it’s both a war film and a very quiet drama all tangled up in the three central characters of Hikaru Ichijo, the young pilot, Misa Hayase, one of the bridge officers and then Miss Macross herself; Lynn Minmay. An idol singer aborad the ship who has during its journey become a huge celebrity after starting as a simple waitress at her family’s restaurant.

Live A Live Remake: Thoughts
It’s been roughly three weeks since I played through all of the Live A Live remake for the Switch. It was a fun little game, just way shorter than what I’m used to. I’m going to give my thoughts on all the different eras, as well as the final area. Spoilers ahead, as I will be talking about all chapters and endgame! I will be talking about every era in terms of gameplay and story.
Prehistory: Out of all of them, this one plays the most like a standard fantasy RPG. You fight monsters to get healing items and materials to forge better weapons. You have a party with their strengths and weaknesses, and of course a final boss showdown at the end of the chapter.
Story-wise it’s also pretty typical of RPGs. Boy meets girl, girl has problems, boy tries helping girl and also gets into problems, girl gets captured, boy saves her, boy and his friends fight big monster, and they live happily ever after. The twist to prehistory is that all of this is told without words and dialogue, so the story is instead told by emotes and gestures. I thought that was a great creative decision, and it makes me believe that this is a time before words as we know them. Pogo as a character is kind of endearing, but not gonna lie, he’s also thirsty if ya know what I mean.
Imperial China: Gameplay wise, this one also has more of a JRPG flavor. You have your main character, you have three others who can join your party at first, and then you have encounters that you can avoid, and items to gather. It also plays on the “duel” mechanic some RPGs have, where there are one-on-one fights against opponents.
This one plays on a lot of kung fu movie tropes from what I can see. You have the wise mentor and then the promising disciples, and the whole idea of what it means to be a martial artist. There are people who use their kung fu for good reasons and bad, it all depends on the heart of the person. The plot twist of only one disciple surviving an attack from a rival dojo (really, a gang if you think about it) was handled really well, and it’s interesting that the player has a choice and the survivor is not scripted for later replays. The Earthen Heart Shifu himself is not portrayed as perfect and he makes mistakes, but overall he is a man who just wants his style of martial arts to live on.
The Twilight of Edo Japan: The gameplay mechanics in this one are very interesting. It’s a mix between RPG combat and stealth, and you really have the option to pick your battles, so to say. Then there’s a counter showing how many lives you’ve taken in battle, and even when you’re forced into a fight, there’s the option to run away. One can do a “kill ‘em all” run, a pacifist run, or a neutral run.
Story-wise we’re given all the trappings of any Japanese fantasy. There’s clans fighting one another, ninjas, and samurai. (Although it’s pretty cool that the playable samurai in this one also has a gun, which is accurate for the time period!) It’s a story about shaping Japan’s future. Whether it’s a new dawn or storm clouds are on the horizon is up to you. Either way, Oboromaru takes his role as a shinobi seriously and he’s determined to see his mission through.
The Wild West: I wanted to like this chapter. I wanted to love this chapter. But gameplay wise it was very difficult for a first-time player. Because right after you see the cutscenes and you're introduced to the characters and the town, you have a timed mission. That’s right, a timed mission to set traps before the boss and his cronies come, and if you don’t set enough traps correctly, you will have a monster of a boss fight on your hands. I will be up front and say I used a guide because sometimes, that’s how you have to get things done.
Story-wise I did like this chapter though. That’s what it’s got going for it, despite the difficulty curve. Sundown doesn’t know any of the people in the town of Success, but he’s still willing to stop there and lend a hand and help them deal with a band of outlaws that have been terrorizing them. There’s some back and forth between him and his rival, Mad Dog that I really enjoy, and there’s a choice you can make in the ending (to flee the last duel and spare Mad Dog) that makes it just worth it to replay at least one more time.
Present Day: Gameplay wise, Present day is like a fighting game. Think Street Fighter, or Tekken but with the twist that you get to learn your opponents’ techniques if they use them on you. I like how you get unlimited tries to do this, so that you can learn every skill your rivals have to offer (I know I wanted to get them all.) The boss at the end is challenging enough to make it interesting, but if you picked up all the skills, he’s not unbeatable.
Story-wise, it’s fairly simple. Masaru wants to be the strongest warrior, so he challenges masters of various martial arts to learn from them and use their techniques. It’s implied that he’s always going to be fighting for this title of The Strongest, as he faces another challenger immediately after the boss. I think I get what the story was going for. Being the best is a constant struggle, and sooner or later, someone else is going to rise to the top.
The Near Future: This one reminded me a bit of modern day Golden Sun! You have different elemental powers that you use in battle, and you’re also able to read others’ minds and find out different flavor text from them. There’s also a hint of Magitek gameplay when you get control of the Steel Titan later on. All around solid, easy to pick up gameplay that sometimes makes you feel really powerful.
Plot-wise, I really enjoyed this story. But that’s only because I love mecha in general and it fills me with a lot of nostalgia. At first Akira isn’t sure what to do with his life and he’s sort of an outcast for the whole “reading minds” deal, but then he’s able to prove himself a hero when he finally takes control of the Steel Titan and goes to smack a corrupted God back into oblivion. Imagine conspiring to bring back a mad god, only to have a mouthy mind-reading punk pound it with mecha. Amazing.
The Distant Future: Gameplay wise it’s a lot of dialogue, looking for clues, and later, running. Essentially it plays like a futuristic survival horror. There’s a conspiracy and it’s up to you to find clues to uncover it, all while being chased by a monster that will meet you with instant death if it touches you. You have no weapons, just places to hide.
Story wise I swear it felt like Space Odyssey: 2001 the video game. You have a crew who go in and out of cryo-sleep, you have inventors and you have an AI gone rogue. There is discord among the crew and a sort of whodunit plot, and it all culminates in a confrontation with the computer OD-10, that decides it was going to murder people because they weren’t working in perfect harmony. Cube has to fight for their life, and the lives of the two remaining survivors: their creator Kato and the soldier Darthe (who despised Cube at first but opens up to them later.) Ultimately Cube’s story values the robot’s kindness over any physical strength or violence.
The Medieval Era: Gameplay wise you couldn’t get more standard of an RPG at first. You’re in a fantasy medieval setting, with your main character Oersted being a knight who goes on a quest to rescue the princess Alethea from a demon lord that was defeated by a great hero in the past. There is the “epic quest” aspect of the gameplay, traveling the world, finding party members and fighting random encounters. Even after the plot happens and the party members dwindle, the swords and sorcery gameplay remains.
Story wise, I got spoiled. But I was still in awe to actually see it on screen. What I expected was a happy Dragon Quest like fantasy, where the hero saved the princess with the help of his friends and everyone lived happily ever after. What I got instead was a Shakespearean tragedy. In the course of the story, everyone important to Oersted either betrays him or dies, sometimes both at the same time. All of the loss, hatred and pain leads Oersted, once champion of his realm into becoming the Lord of Dark himself, lashing out against everyone who wronged him with newfound dark power. It is heartbreaking to see his attempts to do the right thing at every turn just backfire against him, making it almost understandable that he is driven to villainy (although hermit life could’ve also been an option and I’ll stand by that as an AU possibility.)
The Final Chapter: Plot-wise and gameplay wise, it feels very open world. The protagonists from the different eras are brought together in the Dominion of Hate, which is just Oersted’s former kingdom brought to ruin. Technically the only place you have to go is the dark mountain to face off against Odio (who’s completely taken over Oersted by now.) But the different areas of the ruined kingdom and all the different trials your seven protagonists can take on really put me in mind of Ocarina of time and the Sages’ temples. Every trial you take on gives you an ultimate weapon for that character, which is crucial to the ending. And whoever you choose to lead the finale will personally confront Oersted after you do the true final boss battle. There are so many different ways the final chapter could go, and each one is worth exploring.

Fourth Wall AU
Characters:
The Narrator
Player/Oswin
Stanley
The Adventure Line/Lynne
Plot:
• The Stanley Parable (2013) started off as nothing more than a video game with a basic ai Narrator repeating a script with minor changes every run.
• Eventually, the Narrator gains consciousness but keeps to the game, trapping himself in repetition as opposed to trying to escape
• He has major issues with the endings such as the zending and the confusion ending. While he knows he was purely artificial originally, he prefers to ignore it and believe he is a real being with free will.
• Aside from the Narrator, everything in the game is coded. Stanley is just a vessel for the player, all the objects don't really talk, ad everything is planned, despite what the Narrator believes.
• He remembers every reset. Though not every ending in incredible detail. Endings like the Zending, Confusion, and the Skip Button are vague memories in his head. The skip button being a time-sped up ending and becoming a blur to him that he forgets normally.
• The Narrator knows about the developers, but cannot speak to them.
• All Stanley's input is from the players. The Narrator doesn't know this and just thinks that Stanley either has terrible memory or has vastly different mood swings.
• In the Not Stanley Ending, he realises that the player isnt the Stanley he believes he knows and splits them. Leaving the Player above the two doors room.
• The Narrator, in the HD remake, cant believe that there are real people. He knows of them, but knowing that they are with him in the game will give him an existential crisis/make him distressed, and as a result, reset the game (see: confusion, zending). So the game has a feature where it wipes his memories from the Player unplugging the phone up until they split.
• Things change when Ultra Deluxe comes out.
• The game is revamped completely, The Narrator can feel how smoother the game feels, especially since its running in unity despite it looking exactly like its 2013 version on the source engine (? fact check this)
• One major change is that the Narrator can hear some players as they play the game. Given that they have a working mic and all.
• Surprisingly he doesn't mind it. Enjoying getting reactions from his script despite the fact its real people.
• Ultra Deluxe loses the feature to reset the game if the Narrator gets too upset. Instead, its a plannes forced reset.
• Eventually, he ends up with a player whom he enjoys hearing the responses to. Responding to the Narrator like they were in a conversation as the player rambles. Internally, he's scared to break the fourth wall. Afraid it might spook the player and lose this one shred of genuine connection.
• They continue like this for a while. The narrator subtly changing the delivery of his lines to better suit the players moods. In turn the player responds as usual, without noticing that the Narrators dialogue is changing.
• Its subtle. Being more harsh and boring when they hear the player talking about an exam they should be studying for and not here playing the game so they can leave and do well. Being more soft when theres that all too familiar hurt tone in their voice while they play. Being a bit more snarky when they laugh at everything he says. The player even goes to the starry dome to study, and the Narrator feels like he is hanging out with a friend, knowing that the player would never go into the other room. (They have, once. then never again)
• At some point, the Narrator slips up and responds to something the player says and as while he fears a negative reaction, he gets a surprised gasp followed by a few noises he cant place before a "Is that new Narry dialogue?! lets fucking go!"
• The narrator sighs in relief before chuckling a bit. "Language, dear player."
• The player pauses. Now there is the silence he was afraid of.
• "...Hello?"
• "Hello, Player."
• More silence.
• "This... this isnt prerecorded right? No voice recognition system in the game-?"
• "Prerecorded?! I'll have you know I do all of my voice lines live for you players, thank you." He scoffs, somewhat offended
• "Have you been listening to every players reactions this whole time?!"
• "Well not every player of the Stanley Parable. But right now its just been you that ive been hearing for the past few months."
• "Oh my god you must've heard me talk about your voice so much- im so sorry."
• He laughs, surprisingly genuine. "Nonsense! It's been a delight hearing your responses and your voice, Player-"
• "Oswin." The player says gently, "My name is Oswin, Narrator."
• "...Well, Oswin. To be perfectly honest, I adore hearing your responses to the game and to my script. You are one of the rare few who respond as though we were in conversation and truth be told, its a welcome change to the players who tell me to piss off or talk to themselves."
• They snort. "You mean the youtubers?"
• "Definitely."
• Thus starts A friendship between Oswin and the Narrator
• With this new connection, the Narrator slowly gets used to the idea of sentience and the real world. Feeling more and more human as the friendship helps him understand his world and beyond.
• He gets used to manipulating the game around him. Locking the game to be only on Oswin's computer and being able to interact with him through screens.
• While this happens, the game slowly starts to glitch. Stanley becomes sentient, going through the same dillema the Narrator had, however the Narrator is able to reassure him and help him understand.
• It takes a bit of work, considering that Stanley up until their instance of the game locked onto Oswin's PC had undergone every ending an unfathomable amount of times. With his sentience he has to process the fact that both he and the narrator were trapped in the game with no free will.
• At this time, the Narrator manages to enter the real world. With some help of coding magic and Oswin's powers alowing him to exist in the real world.
• The Adventure Line grows sentient too. However due to the fact that the Line was never fully fleshed out as a character, when it came to the real world, it turned into a teenage girl by the name of Lynne.
• Stanley also enters the real world.
The three of them are able to pop in and out of the Parable. It being treated more like their second home

✎ BRIEF BIOGRAPHY
TW: SEXUAL ASSAULT Ryder’s life with his parents was a happy one, they were a loving group even if his parents were gone often for work. Which lead to a stream of babysitters in his early childhood, most not fully able to handle the bundle of undiagnosed ADHD that was Ryder Lynn, but then he did get a steady babysitter. She was in her teens, he was eleven, at first it seems like she was the perfect babysitter for him. She let him ramble about anything, even when he would switch topics without finishing one, they played video games and read comic books, watched movies, it was perfect. Except one night when his parents were late getting home, he was taking a shower and she came in the bathroom, he thought she might not have heard the water so he told her that he was in there but she didn’t care. He didn’t talk about that night to anyone, worried that it was somehow his fault, plus, she was nice every other time, he didn’t want her to get in trouble. She moved away a few months later, and he figured that there was no point in mentioning it after that. Middle school was a hard time, he was having a lot of trouble focusing and reading and writing was seemingly impossible. After teachers were telling his parents what seemed to be the issue and they spoke to Ryder about it, they went to get him tested. He walked out of there with a dyslexia and ADHD diagnosis. Having a reason for why reading and writing were so hard felt great for Ryder, it wasn’t just his fault that he was having trouble. His parents worked quickly to make sure he was getting help with it, and as the years have gone by, it was getting easier to deal with. His reading and writing aren’t perfect by any means but it’s a lot more manageable than it used to be. High school was an easier time, he joined the football team and after landing the role of Danny in his schools production of Grease, he joined Glee club. It was a great time, he was gaining friends, mostly through Glee club, as his fellow football members usually thought he was a little too much on the nerdy side, but it was a fun time nonetheless. One more hiccup in his life was during his senior year, he was catfished by one of the girls on the cheerleading team as a prank, but he had told the catfish everything, including his sexuality crisis. Ryder stopped talking to his catfish after confronting who he thought he was talking to, and eventually, he found out their real identity. But it didn’t matter, the hurt was there. When he was tested, getting submissive was no surprise to anyone, including himself. But he was having a hard time trusting women after everything that happened to him, and while working at the local comic book shop was a fun time, he was obviously not as happy as he used to be. His friend count was low, most of his old friends of Glee club moving away or just losing touch. It was his aunt who suggested therapy, and the therapist who suggested the sanctuary after learning about his babysitter and the catfishing, which Ryder agreed to, it seemed like a good spot for him. Now he’s here and looking forward to meeting new people and healing from everything else that’s happened to him, even if he’s a little reluctant to talk about it.

Just Want to Make You Mine
happy valentine’s day, @kkultae
hope you like it 💜
You were sitting in your room trying to study for a test you had later that week, but your roommate and her boyfriend were making that incredibly hard for you. She had told you that he was coming over to watch a movie, and you had asked her if they could keep quiet since you had to study. She had said yes, but here you are, an hour into trying to study and all you can hear is your roommate and her boyfriend laughing loudly over the movie that was playing.
Knowing that you weren't going to get any studying done while you were here, you decided to text your best friend who you also had a crush on and asked if you could come over and study there.
To: Tae-Tae Hey tae :( are you busy tonight? My roomie has her boyf over and I'm trying to study
From: Tae-Tae I'm not busy! Come over and study here! Kook is hanging out with jimin and jin so it'll be quiet here for youuu
To: Tae-Tae Omg thank you!! Be there soon xoxo
Sighing out of relief you quickly grabbed everything that you needed to study over at Taehyung's, plus a few of your favorite snacks knowing that Taehyung would have nothing to eat at his place.
No less than ten minutes were you standing outside of Taehyung's door. You gently knocked and immediately the door opened, revealing a brightly smiling Taehyung. You smiled back, noting how cute he looked in his joggers and hoodie.
"Hi Lynn, come on in." He said, stepping aside for you to walk in the door.
"Thanks for letting me come over Tae. My roomie and her boyfriend were starting to get on my nerves," you told him, sighing a little as you walking down to his room.
He followed, fidgeting with the strings of his hoodie as you two walked down. "Ah, sorry to hear that. But you know you can always come here and I'll be quiet."
You laughed as you sat down on his bed, pulling out your notebook and laptop. "Right, because between you and Jungkook the place is just so peaceful."
He pouted and sat down at his desk, spinning the chair to face you. "We're not that bad!"
You reached forward and patted his head. "Of course not."
He quickly turned around in his chair, not wanting you to see the blush that was creeping up his face from you touching him.
Truth was, Taehyung had kicked Jungkook out when you had texted him. He liked spending his time with you alone, and having Kook here made that difficult. Jungkook had laughed and easily complied, thankfully. Under one condition: tell her you like her, man.
Taehyung bit his cheek, worrying about telling you how he felt. You were his best friend. What if you didn't like him back and this just ruined everything? He had asked this of Jungkook, and he had reassured Taehyung that he had nothing to worry about.
You looked up at Taehyung, seeing him pull up a video game. You smiled at the back of his head and thought that if playing video games was a major, that's what he and Jungkook would've majored in.
Sighing, you picked up the studying where you had left off. You had a history exam at the end of the week and you wanted to do well. This class was one of your more difficult classes, not because the subject was difficult, but just because the professor went through the material so fast, leaving you to go back to reteach yourself later.
A peaceful silence fell over the room, you clacking away at your laptop and occasionally writing something down, and the sounds of the keyboard as Taehyung played whatever game he was obsessed with at the moment.
An hour or so had passed, the two of you having shared your snacks, but now you were hungry and looking for an excuse to take a study break. Since Taehyung had noise cancelling headphones on, you knew he wouldn't hear you if you tried talking to him. Deciding to be childish, you began throwing your pens and pencils at him, hoping that one would hit him and catch his attention.
The first one hit his chair, the second one wasn't anywhere close, but the third hit him square in the head. You began laughing and he turned around, looking very confused.
"Did you throw a pen at me?"
"I threw three actually, that's the only one that hit you." You admitted.
He rolled his eyes. "What's up?"
"I'm hungry and in need of a study break. Wanna order a pizza?" You said, standing up the stretch.
Taehyung nodded and turned around again to order the pizza online. "What do you get on yours again?" You clutched your chest, faking hurt. "Ouch! We've only been friends for two years and you don't know my pizza order. I'm hurt, Tae. Truly."
He laughed and grabbed you hand. "Forgive me, Lynn. Tell me one more time and I'll make it up to you by buying this time."
You could feel your face heat up when he grabbed your hand. "U-uh just the meat lover's is fine. But with black olives."
"Okay. Can do." He turned back, a smug smile on his face after seeing you blush when he grabbed your hand. Maybe Kook was right, he thought.
With both of your pizzas ordered, you moved closer to Taehyung's desk wanting to see the game he was playing. "What are you playing now?"
"Jungkook and I started playing this game called Overwatch. It's pretty cool and we get to play together." He said brightly, as he always does when talking about his games.
"Show me."
He nodded and resumed playing, this time without the headphones so that you could hear. The game looked fun and you could see why he and Jungkook liked it so much.
After a while, you two heard a knock on Taehyung's door and you got up.
"I'll grab it, Tae. After sitting still for so long I feel like I need to move my legs." You stretched again and waited while Taehyung grabbed money to tip the delivery guy.
You walked to the front door and opened it, not expecting to see a cute guy standing in front of you.
"Hey, I'm delivering two pizzas for Taehyung?" He said, smiling at you and tilting his head slightly.
You flushed a little. "Yeah, that's for me."
"You don't look like a Taehyung to me." He said, leaning against the door frame.
"Obviously not. My name is Lynn. My friend Taehyung that lives here ordered them for us." You said.
He smiled again. "Oh, a friend? Is he just a friend?"
You blushed. "I-uh, what?" "I'm just saying, you're really cute and I'd like to take you out to get to know you. I'm Namjoon, by the way." He smirked.
You opened your mouth to say something but suddenly Taehyung was next to you, with his arm around you. "She's spoken for, dude. Thanks for the interest."
You looked up at him in shock, not knowing where he came from and what he was saying. "What?"
Namjoon cocked an eyebrow and looked at Taehyung. "Really, because she said you were her friend."
You felt Taehyung's hand around your shoulder tighten. "Like I said, she's spoken for. So I'll be taking our pizzas now."
Taehyung grabbed the pizza boxes from Namjoon and quickly shut the door, not bothering to tip him.
You were still looking at him surprised. For one, Taehyung never acted like that. Second, Taehyung never skimmed someone on a tip.
"Tae?" You asked, walking over to where he was standing, his eyes closed.
He took a deep breath and opened his eyes. "Sorry, I just. I didn't like the way he was looking at you and the way he was talking to you, Lynn."
You nodded your head. "Okay Tae, but saying I'm spoken for?"
He blushed and looked away from you. "Right… sorry."
"Tae?" You noticed that he was pointedly not looking at you.
"What?"
You stepped closer to him. "Why did you really say that to Namjoon?"
He sighed and looked at you, placing his hands gently on your face. "I like you, Lynn. I have for a while and I didn't know how to tell you and when I told Jungkook you were coming over he said I had to tell you that I liked you and then I heard Namjoon flirting with you and I had to do something about it and-"
You laughed, cutting off his rambling and placed your hands on top of his. "So you were jealous?"
He blushed more, this time the blush making its way to his ears. "Y-yeah I was. Lynn, I want you to be mine, okay? I don't want any more guys talking to you like that."
You smiled and stepped closer to him. "Taehyung, I like you too."
His eyes widened in surprise. "You do?"
You nodded. "Of course I do, Tae."
He burst into his signature boxy smile, one that you loved so much and wrapped you in a tight hug. "Hey Lynn?"
You hummed against his chest.
"Happy Valentine's Day. Will you go out with me on Friday so I can officially make you mine?" He said, pulling back a little so that he could look at you.
You smiled and blushed. "I'd like that, Tae."
He smiled and pulled your face close to his, pulling you into a short and sweet kiss. "Friday, then."

Some Cute Jarco/ Jackie Lynn Thomas Headcannons To Brighten Up The Tag!
For date night, Jackie Lynn Thomas and Marco sometimes stay in with a bunch of snacks and play video games together all night long. Marco is a big fan of classic rpg’s like Final Fantasy and fighting games like Street Fighter, while Jackie’s big on open world explorer’s (girl loves the Fallout series) and of course, Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2- but they share a deep mutual love of the Kingdom Heart series and will dramatically recite the unskippable cut scenes at each other word for word for laughs
They also enjoy book dates! Jackie and Marco will pack up their favorite books and go to a nearby coffee shop, order a drink and maybe a snack too, and just sit and read together awhile, turning the pages with one hand and holding hands with the other. When they’re done reading their books, they’ll order more drinks and sit and talk about them, their own private lil book club
Marco once surprised Jackie with a date to the history museum, where she surprised him with her extensive knowledge of all the exhibits! She knew even more than the tour guide did, explaining everything in a bright-eyed, excited ramble, and watching her so animated and happy, Marco never loved her more. (The group they were with and even the guide applauded her at the end and Marco was very proud)
Once Jackie caught a nasty summer cold and was stuck miserable in bed, unable to skate or do much of anything, so Marco brought over some homemade caldo de res and some of her favorite movies and they sat together until she felt better. (They snuck a few too many kisses in and Marco caught her cold days later oops)
Whenever they watch movies together, Jackie will get very invested in Marco’s reaction to what’s going on. She’ll frequently grab his arm and point things out, or give him a nudge with a raise oh her brow, and she’ll often glance at him to catch his reaction to what’s happening.
Whenever Jackie competes in a skate competition, she borrows one of Marco’s hoodies for luck. Marco himself never misses one, and Jackie can always hear him cheering and whistling over everyone else in the crowd when she’s up. She hasn’t lost one since! Likewise, Jackie lends Marco her shell necklace for his karate matches, which he wears close to his heart under his gi.
Jackie and Marco are that couple at the beach who write each other’s names in the sand surrounded by hearts and trying out each other’s last names to see how they look together, but they’ll also do goofy lil doodles and make sand castles too. (Marco’s the better sand castle builder, Jackie’s better at sand drawing). They like to sit and hold each other and watch the waves, usually waiting to watch the sun dip down over them.
Jackie practices a few meditation techniques, as does Marco from his years of karate, and sometimes the two will sit in comfortable silence side by side, simply breathing, maybe their knees touching, enjoying the peace and each other’s company.
Once before they were even together, Jackie overheard some bullies at school making fun of Marco behind his back (Calling him a dork and the lame safe kid, etc.) and to everyone’s surprise, the usually chill Jackie Lynn Thomas went totally off on them in his defense. “Hey dudes, lay off will you?! Marco Diaz is a real cool, nice dude which is more than be said about any of you jerks! Seriously? Grow up dudes.” Word quickly got around the school that you should NEVER talk shit about Diaz in front of Jackie Lynn or else

Lynner Takes All
5:15 pm I’ve finally watched the whole episode.
Okay I’m gonna explain why I couldn’t watch the whole thing earlier. My dad wanted me to help with this new big tv that’s like 90 inches or some shit and heavy. It was kind of like an hour and half hour mainly. But also I was waiting for the moment where me and him have to pick it up. Yet he called one of our neighbors and I even said they were like equally matched just it was easier for them.
I don’t know why I was surprised. Including I was going like Superman arms to myself…I was trying to give myself reassurance. No one else heard. Also yeah looked yesterday’s Loud House is on. I only picked up the middle with the stand yet they were mostly doing the lifting. Including I was standing around after that yet most of the stuff was done. We just had to take the old living room TV and put it in the garage and it’s lighter yet still heavy. After that fed the dog and took a shower.
Seriously I was surprised I was expecting for this unbelievable moment. Also hearing Rita Loud get her keys I thought someone was coming to my room. Yet seriously was surprised and good my dad’s friends helped us he’s a pretty good guy and he explained that stuff was quite easy.
Including just saying I did pause the episode yet seems my tv doesn’t pause for long. Including rewinded but it didn’t show it and fast forward to get the time arranged right.
So I watched the 5:00 pm showing.
I found it mainly okay yet it was enjoyable funny.
The episode spoilers so the episode is about the siblings are sick of Lynn rubbing it in their faces each time she wins and one of them being her 300th win. So they try to beat her, when they do she goes crazy and decide to try to let her beat them. But Leni fucks shit up taking throwing the game as Lori would say littertly. Thus revealing more of Lynn learning how her siblings feel.
She apologizes and mainly not in person she gets excited when she’s not in their faces and the other siblings don’t mind that. Including Lincoln mentioning at least it’s not in their faces.
The reason I talk about the plot story cause I wanted to give a very quick nutshell of what to expect.
Just saying before I paused it saw a bit of it. I think before Lynn says it’s her 300th win.
It was honestly silly. Also I was a bit bothered that they don’t try to talk to her. Yet you know… I seriously question why I even question and think these kids are gonna act like mature adults.
In a way you are hearing this from a guy who in a way wants Zack Snyder’s Sonic The Hedgehog yet I’m like a younger Zack Snyder who’s watches cartoons, lots of movies, and plays a lot of video games including Sonic.
Yet I’m glad it goes to that when Leni fucks up ha sorry normal to smile yet it’s good that they decide to reveal that.
Also my stupid thoughts maybe man, Lynn might rub it off and be stupid still rubbing her wins in their faces. Honestly I’m talking about kids from the ages of 1 to 17.
Okay I decided to change the channel and didn’t know what to change to I checked it’s on OWN now. I just don’t give a shit about Welcome To The Wayne. Okay it can’t suck just I haven’t watched a episode fully maybe I wanna hear from people. Sorry my head saying shit.
Including when Lily gets not attacked but covered by her blocks when Lynn just runs by her and it’s like she’s done with this shit or some shit.
Really I can understand it’s a kids show yet that doesn’t exuse just it got better as the episode went on no it doesn’t suck.
I feel some episodes seriously could be done better.
Also I like Lynn. Yet bothered by her actions. But what well…they could be reasonable. Including people talking about. Seriously she’s this adorable little gal mate.
Whatever else forgot and just I’m not giving a shit ha sorry normal to smile. But it was the final episode of the week. My favorite of the week was mainly, “Garage Banned” and my least favorite was the first new one…I don’t like it and I don’t wanna title it sorry…..normal to smile ugh man, “ARRGH You For Real” good my phone remembers the title.
The other episodes were all enjoyable in their own ways mate.
Including I question how I react to these episodes. Also when I make a joke of myself since I’m a fan of the DCEU and I seriously question myself what the fuck almost left the duck…typos yet other shit. Almost put also again yet also Sonic that’s what I mean I’m a fan of that too.
Again also almost left , “ not this but those…typos…
Thanks @fangirl20 and your friend also @loudannoyinglincoln for liking this well the last post…same person I think so theirs a new icon ha sorry normal to smile.
Got tags down now 2 pm isn’t a time now where I have to get ready or 5 pm lol normal to smile just nice man…no seriously good I don’t have to worry at times about times.
I’m just rambling on. Mainly no nothing sucked sorry my head. Really I enjoyed most of the new episodes. My head is saying random shit. Honestly we had some good episodes this week okay normal to smile.
edit forgot normal to smile 5:40 pm chill now 5:41 pm I’ll stop sorry man chill edit 5:56 almost left 55 so watched the latest Shadow759 video lol okay normal to smile. Sorry yet wanted to say I really enjoyed this week despite the first episode 5:57 pm sorry ticks

The Art work Of Creating Powerful Essay sentences
The Art work Of Creating Powerful Essay sentences
Whether you’re a tale fantasy writer, some sort of journalist or possibly a website content creator, you want your essay sentences to record people’s recognition. And regarding that, you actually need towards write successful sentences the fact that spark intense curiosity and drive them for you to continue checking.
If anyone think of sentences when a piece of music- which would definitely you rather listen towards: music of which lifts and moves you as them spans the musical range or audio that drones on around muted monotones? You may have in order to be some sort of natural within this. Just by practicing several of the main advice to help follow, everyone can form better intelligence that pull the the focus of your personal readers.
Trim the unwanted fat
The guideline of drive in authoring powerful penalties is which less is more. No longer saturate your individual sentences utilizing drawn out and about phrases. Become direct together with get to the issue. Nobody possesses time that will slog via circuitous writing to find to the particular author’s legitimate intentions.
Certain examples of fat-trimming:
Due that will the basic fact that Sally has your cold, the woman didn’t occur to perform. Sally failed to come so that you can work for the reason that she possesses a chilled.
I overlooked my exercise routine so As i could help to make my daughter’s soccer sport. I overlooked my exercise session to create my daughter’s soccer video game.
Lynn can be the model of woman who desires to go for long walks. Lynn likes to be able to go to get long taking walks.
There was basically basically simply no real motive for John’s dismissal. Now there was certainly no reason with regard to John’s termination.
The energy tank abruptly exploded. Often the gasoline water tank exploded.
This lady came on the inside of often the kitchen and sat straight down. She approached the cooking area and seated down.
Move strong terms to the actual beginning or perhaps end
Typically the first as well as last phrases of a new sentence are actually the most memorable. In cases where your sentence’s strongest sayings are inside the midst, you can restructure to help bring these folks either to be able to the outset or the very end.
Ex girlfriend or boyfriend 1: The exact storm caused a big fire and even several electricity shortages attributed to tough winds. Compared to. Strong really winds caused many electrical shortages and your big flame.
The first example sets out with “The storm” as well as ends through “winds” as contrasted with. the second example which will starts utilizing “Strong winds” and closes with “fire”.
Ex. couple of The wagering action pounced in the deer and was able to split its jugular. Vs. Pouncing on typically the deer, typically the tiger toned its jugular.
By beginning out through the message “pouncing” people get the main reader’s particular attention right aside.
Get to the factor
Don’t come up with in forums. Don’t attempt to end up being crafty or sneaky or perhaps hide your individual point inside innuendo and also double-meaning. Noone is going to consider the time frame to understand your complex sentences. Say it bare and distinct or don’t say the item at all.
Ex: It again was since if Nicole were seeking to the fish for some sort connected with compliment about the good quality of his particular report. As opposed to. John was initially fishing regarding compliments in relation to his accounts.
Oddly, right now there were practically no young-ish men from the fireman’s bachelor get together. Vs. Right now there were handful of young adult men at typically the fireman’s bachelor’s party.
Shouldn’t use blow
Even westerner writers exactly who are authorized a certain license so that you can ramble can certainly fall prey to that one. Get sure which will your sentences are presently there for some sort of reason. Will be they relocating the tale forward? Will be they travelling the position home? Any gourmet mealtime doesn’t include filler in addition to good intelligence don’t comprise of fluff.
To get example, in the event that I added in this sentence to the main above piece: Fluff floods up often the page however doesn’t provide your target audience any more detailed to comprehending your subject matter.
Is it again really required? Or offers this level already really been made by the former sentences?
Get hold of rid about passive style
Passive speech does not really make solid sentences. The idea slows decrease the circulate of data and seems awkward. Substitute your unaggressive voice through action verbs and see what transpires:
The deer’s jugular had been ripped through the tiger. The tiger ripped the exact deer’s jugular.
A shoot was triggered by the main storm’s sturdy winds. Typically the storm’s tough winds caused a flames.
The infant was bumped out simply by the flyball. The flyball knocked the particular child out and about.
paper write
Choose better verbs
“To be” plus “To have” are some of the main first sayings taught to help ESL students. Why is definitely that? Since they’re the most commonly used verbs in the English words. For powerful sentences, a person want to forge brand-new terrain. Shelf “To be” and “To have” and venture directly into the broad world regarding verbs. Check out this particular list with action verbs for quite a few ideas. Just simply be certainly not for you to weaken them all by setting them inside passive words (see above).
Create a great image throughout few text
Okay, so you’re not really going for you to use filler, you’re not going that will use residual voice or maybe extra sayings. It might seem just like I’ve ingested away almost all your tools as any writer, departing you by using 5 statement sentences which sound bare and automatic. But, consider me, there might be a considerably better world longing for one beyond wordiness. And an individual can produce strong entendement with couple of words. Hemingway was typically the master.
This individual claimed which will this seemed to be the ideal sentence he or she ever composed: “Baby shoes and boots: for sale, never worn. ” The idea tells your story, gives an image and evokes emotion plus has absolutely no fat in order to trim.
Establish suspense
Certainly, you desire to find to typically the point. Not any, you don’t want your individual intelligence to be too difficult to have an understanding of. But while you assemble a report, you will use excellent sentences simply because tools to be able to help make suspense. An individual want your personal readers for you to hunger to help know just what exactly happens subsequent. Giving these individuals suspense activates them that will the following sentence while not too very much effort on their piece. That’s what precisely you would like for your current writing- to be able to be simple to look over.
A time period like…: Feuille had put a notice under their own door intended for them towards find any time they gained home in order to their apartment.
… will be created more stimulating by incorporating some incertidumbre:
