Saguaro: Now this may seem pretty funny, but if we're not counting my Service Pokémon, Mint, my very first Pokémon was actually Lunar when he was still a lil Scorbunny.

Saguaro: I was still absolutely terrified of Fire Types that even harmless lil Lunar scared me. As for what got me so interested, well…

Saguaro: My interest started when I first ran into a Galarian Meowth. The one I caught and raised as a Trainer isn't this one of course, but I did catch one while I was a Trainer.

Saguaro: Imagine my surprise when the Meowth doesn't evolve into a Persian, but a Purrserker! A completely different Pokémon! They jumpstarted my curiosity on Variants. Then of course, Superstar there evolved again, which Hoennian Linoone can't… And I kept meeting more and more Variants that evolved into a different Pokemon than what's considered 'the norm'.

Saguaro: I'll admit, I've always been a bit interested in Pokémon ever since I was a very young child… My late mother talked a lot about her home Region, Alola, and showed me some Alolan Pokémon…. but that interest was nowhere near the fascination I have with them.

Saguaro: Yeah, I… I know how easy it is to lose sight of yourself and who you are.

Saguaro: I almost did, at one point. But Lunar reminded me of who I am. Saguaro: I know it's not… Much, and I know you can't fully trust humans yet… But…

Saguaro: You probably don't got a lot of room in just your pockets, so I hope this comes in handy.

Ari can easily tell that Lunar trusts Saguaro, so they decide to give them a chance as well. Ari attempted to push themself to their feet, using a tree for balance, just so they didn't have to look up at the other human.

"It was… nice at first. I lived in the Johto region for much of my early life. I even became a Pokémon Trainer. But I wasn't in it to be the League Champion or save the world from calamity."

"I wanted to be one of the bridges between people and Pokémon, to help us understand each other."

"I'm pretty sure my original plan was to become a Pokémon Professor, sorta like this one other person that visited from Sinnoh... I think we always just called her Ms. Cinnabar, who was going through training." "Of course, we all do stupid things as we grow up, and I got involved with the wrong group of so-called "friends". It wasn't until just a few months ago that I realized the mistake I'd made. I'd been running ever since. And I know I can never go back."

"Few days ago, I hopped on a cargo ship, and you know what happened from there." Ari finally stopped trying to push themselves onto their feet, and sat down against the tree. They were still pretty weak from that fiasco.

"I have many regrets from back then, but stands above all the others… One I'll never forgive myself for. Since then, I've realized one ultimate truth: nothing is worth losing sight of yourself and who you are…"

"Don't lose sight of yourself too. Your Cinderace trusts you, and I'm sure you know that, but no one is completely immune to losing their way. If you do..." Ari gave a toothy grin to Lunar, doing their best to hide the sadness that those memories brought with them. "Well, I'm sure you can knock a little sense into them for me if that happens!"

Scorbunny and Buneary almond cookie ears for the year of the rabbit! 🐰 Happy Lunar New Year! 🎆 These cookies were super simple to make, and taste delicious! We dusted Buneary's ears with cocoa powder and finished them with extra cookie dough, and brushed on egg wash dyed orange and red for Scorbunny before baking!

Surprise: I did both! All three of these lil babies were a blast to design, so I hope you enjoy them!

First up: Spectre is most like Wisp, eyes included-at least, in physical appearance. They're a pretty big scaredy-cat, sometimes even getting frightened by his own shadow. They rely a lot on their brother, Ray, to help him when he's a bit too scared. They have stronger Aura powers of the two.

Ray is much more similar to Lunar, especially when he was younger. He really wants to be a Pokemon trainer's first buddy and travel with them! But at the same time, he doesn't want to leave Spectre by himself... It's tough for the lil bunny-dog.

Unfortunately, even though Mint's shiny genes do SLIGHTLY affect the odds of the baby being shiny, it's not guaranteed, so Rye is not shiny. He did, however, get a lot of very interesting markings-and his big tail end is fluffy. The white stripe down the middle is on the underside of the tail, so won't be usually seen-I just positioned it so that you can see it! Rye is a little beam of sunshine in anybody's life, and wants to be like Mint-a Service 'mon for somebody. He hopes that with his Lucario genes, he could be bigger and be a seeing-eye 'mon!

Scorbunny is all fired up because the Year of the Rabbit is officially here!

Snivy is enjoying the view as they fly along the ocean at sunset in their big Scorbunny balloon! They just need to be careful not to fall off as they're standing dangerously close to the edge of their balloon basket to get an even better view!

I've seen that today is the Lunar New Year today and it is the Year of the Rabbit this year! So, what better way to celebrate than to create a sequel to one of my favorite drawings from last year, but make it bigger and better than ever, both figuratively and literally! I've had this sort of idea for quite a while and as time passed, the idea evolved into what we see here! I originally got this idea after viewing the profile picture of a Japanese Twitter user who has a Snivy in a little basket in it! If anything, it's thanks to them that this drawing became a reality in the first place!

I had a lot of fun drawing this one as I drew a balloon basket for the first time and considering that my skills on perspectives and the like are still limited, the basket turned out great, in my opinion! It was interesting figuring out how I could go about adding additional details to the basket to represent the threads on the basket itself! I also loved how the Scorbunny balloon turned out and before adding the transparency effect to the colors and shading, I learned how traditional cell shading and the airbrush can coexist and work together to create excellent shading effects, which is something I'll be using in my future drawings! One side note I'll add here; it feels so freaking good to be able to use Krita again to draw! Its stabilizer is so much stronger and much more suited for my unsteady hands and horrendous handwriting! Plus, the folders/group layers actually work perfectly, as they should! Here's hoping that my computer DOESN'T ever break again so that I don't have to deal with the art program on my Amazon Fire Tablet anymore!
