A few weeks ago, you and your boyfriends, Sun, Moon and Eclipse found four peafowl harpy chicks unattended in the safari zone of Birds of Paradise casino. They were tiny, probably newly hatched. You had never seen these kids before, and they didn't look like they belonged to anybody you knew. Sun begged to keep them, his brothers agreeing. You were hesitation, as you didn't know if you wanted kids yet. But after some persist pestering, you decided it would be alright. You and the brothers took the babies up to your private room and put them in your hammock nest.

Soon after, however, the staff came looking for the eight of you. Apparently, those babies were newly imported, and they were supposed to be cared for by a handler. You could see how disappointed your boyfriends were, and that wasn't going to slide. You chased the staff out of your room, making it clear you weren't giving them up. From then on the four of you made sure no human came close to them, not even your handlers. After a few days the casino gave up and let you four be their adoptive parents. They have been with you, Sun, Moon and Eclipse ever since.

You and the brothers gave them names- well, more of nicknames until their first molt-

(Licorice: he/him. Poki: she/her. Luna: She/her or they/them. Calico: he/her/them.)

Sun loved dance for them and (try) to teach them how to do it too. He only showed them simple dances, so they could try to catch on. The only thing he loved better was playing games with them.

Moon's favorite activity to do with them was show them how to sneak around. Of course, they weren't very good, but you believed they would get better with age. Moon would teach them to climb as well.

Eclipse would often sing to them as they went to bed for the night. During the day, he would sing his favorite songs to them when they took naps. He also did most of the grooming and cleaning.

And you? You loved to do whatever activities they were doing with your boyfriends or join them in their naps. They were your precious bundles of joy, and you loved each and every one of them.

One of the more interesting minor notes in the more recent Pokémon games is that different characters, such as the Team Star bosses, use different types of Pokéballs. It’s a neat characterization detail. So I thought I would apply to Reborn’s characters.

Gym Leaders

Julia-Fast. Only her Voltorb and Electrode actually get the bonus from it. She uses it because it fits best with her pom-poms.

Florinia-Timer. Statistically the most effective ball.

Shelly-Friend. It’s cute and fits with her forest field.

Shade-Cherish. Mysterious and red.

Aya-Poke. It’s the cheapest.

Serra-Premier. A show of aesthetic and (somewhat former) status.

Noel-Poké. He’s basic.

Radomus-Master. Spent half the coffers on it. Also, because grand”master”.

Luna-Moon. Fits her vibes immaculately.

Samson-Heavy. The circus strongman should lift heavy things. That’s like, his job.

Charlotte-Premier. Both cool and easily available.

Terra-GS balls (or at least, standard pokéballs painted to look like GS balls). The ultimate troll.

Ciel-Wing. White and blue, and associated with flying types. Maybe she learned to make them back out in the country.

Adrienn-Luxury. Only the best for xyr Pokémon!

Titania-Net. Completely symbolic, with no practical use. She’s extra like that.

Amaria-Dive. One can surmise that she spends a lot of time underwater. She likely catches her mons there as well.

Hardy-Repeat. Just thinks it looks cool.

Saphira-Dusk. Very effective and also kinda edgy. Her gym emulates a cave.

Sandy-Luxury. Stolen from Craudberry’s collection.

Elite 4

Heather-Jet. A soaring pokéball for a fast-flyer.

Benett-Nest. He definitely raises his bug Pokémon from the first stage.

Laura-Heal. No explanation needed.

El-Legends Arceus normal Pokéballs. Took up crafting sometime after his sight was restored.

Anna-Dream. Due to the dreamsickness and such.

Ame-Safari. Fits symbolically.

Rivals

Victoria-Heal. Imitating Kiki.

Cain-Love. Flirt.

Fern-Great. Once superior, now outclassed.

Cal-Great. Wanted to show up Blake by using a less effective ball.

Meteors

Aster-Quick. The somewhat hasty one.

Eclipse-Timer. The level-headed one.

Ace-Glimmer. Uses a lot of seals.

Sirius-Ultra. No-nonsense kinda fellow.

Solaris-Gigaton. RVTERN to tradition man himself.

Taka-PLA regular pokéballs. Similar to Solaris but extremely half-assing it.

Lin-Cherish. Mysterious ass.

Zero-Ultra. Looks like Umbreon.

Eve-Quick. Statistically the most efficient ball. 

Lumi-Level. Had a very high level Glaceon and little other Pokémon, so she figured that level balls were best for their price. 

Sigmund-Ultra. For the intimidation factor.

Blake-Ultra. Try-hard.

Corey-Poke. To further comparisons Elena makes to child champions.

Kiki-Heal. Has a focus on healing and mental wellness.

This creature is so beautiful with their light pink hue, clearly it’s a female-“ Cody stopped the narration and looked back at the book to confirm and continue. “-Yes it’s clearly a female. Very rare in this case but the beautiful hunter knows what her limits are.” Y/N giggled and had the net ready, soon she caught it. “Daddy I got it! Did you see me?!” She squealed and giggled fixing her safari hat, “Good Job babygirl!” He smiled and helped her get the insect in the jar, made so they can have air and not try to escape. “Daddy she’s beautiful!” Y/N smiled holding the jar, Cody grabbed her books and her extra nets putting them in the box that was outside. “Ok baby, let’s get inside, give her a name and fix up her new home.” She got up fixing her hat and grabbing the jar and putting it in her wagon and going inside.

Cody later was getting some cookies together as Y/N was writing in her journal and drawing her new friend. She loved bugs including mantis, and always wanted an orchid mantis. Cody has always helped her with her insect hobby but not letting it go crazy, so having small stuff like an ant farms, a butterfly farm, and now some mantis she’s keeping. “What should we name her baby?” He asked putting her wagon away for her as she goes to wash her hands from outside. She put her safari hat on the counter and looked at the beautiful bug in the large jar. “Hello…hmmm…how about peach?” Cody chuckled some and nodded. “I think that’s perfect. You remember what peach eats?” She wanted to look in her book but Cody snatched it. “The best bug keepers have a memory as strong as a Hercules beetle.” He smirked. Y/N thought long and hard, “I know like some small butterflies and some houseflies…oh and they love crickets!” “Good job baby. Now you have any of those left from feeding the others?” She nodded getting the bowls and Cody helped putting gloves on and getting tweezers. “After we feed her we can make peach a nice place to stay and get her a lamp.” He pulled out the book again, “They love the warm and humid places.” She nodded and did so, getting started on decorating and getting dirt making sure there’s small animals in it to make sure she has a midnight snack if she needs it.

The place was ready and she carefully got Peach in. She was in awe of the creature, she was so beautiful. “Daddy, she’s amazing.” “Baby careful you don’t want Georgie and Leo jealous.” He was talking about her other mantis friends. “Go ahead and feed them too, I’ll go and get food ready.” She nodded and did so introducing each one to peach. Peach was hiding away but Y/N understood it’s a new place and she has to get use to it. She put them away and made sure the cages were closed. She went over to her moth friend and saw that she wasn’t as active.

“Daddy…” Y/N was worried. Her Luna moth was her best friend, lets her crawl on her arm and when she first arrived she helped her out her cocoon and spread her wings. Cody came in hearing the concern in his littles voice, seeing she was near her moth friend. “Hey what’s wrong with Luna?” He asked sympathizing with her, “I don’t know… she looks sick…” Y/N tried to get her to climb on her hand but she avoided it still hanging on to the spot she was resting on. “Daddy what’s wrong with her…?” Her voice started to get shaky, Cody then grabbed a moth book from her bookcase and went through pages to see what was happening. He feared the worst. “Baby when did we hatch Luna?” “She hatched like last month daddy…why what’s happening…” Cody sighed. “I’m sorry babygirl, but Luna doesn’t have that long…” Y/N shook some and looked at the still beautiful moth. “But…daddy she’s my best friend…” “I know baby I know but they only live for so long. We have to get ready for her to go. That’s just how life span works.” Y/N started to shed tears and it hurt Cody, he looked at the moth and then at Peach. “But I need for you to think of it this way, a friend has to go. But you gained a new friend today. Peach is here to keep you company and you still have George and Leo.” She nodded but was still sad about Luna. “I have an idea for Luna too, but you have to trust daddy. Ok?” Y/N always trusting Cody. But it still hurt knowing a friend would have to go soon.

After the days past, and Cody sending Luna off to a friend of his, Y/N was in black around the house upset. She looked at her safari hat remembering when she first saw Luna, as a green caterpillar, like the one in the book Cody read to her once. She made a habitat and got them in the house fast since it was going to rain. She looked through her book and found out what kind of caterpillar it was, amazed at the beautiful wings. She showed her the picture proudly, “This is what you’re going to be, when you get all big and strong!” She giggled, seeing the caterpillar was trying to climb on the wall like it was reading the book from the enclosure. Y/N informed Cody about their new friend and Cody read some on the habitat and what they like. Helping her improve in the living habits and giving more greens because Luna could eat they gave the name and it was official. Talking to her every night and soon noticing she caught Luna around the time of cocooning. She was worried at first but was there all the way being a happy moth mama. And now…she’s gone.

About two weeks later, the mail arrived and Cody smiled knocking on the door of her big room. “Babygirl I have a surprise for you.” He said coming in. She was feeding her Venus flytrap plants after she finished up with her mantis friends making sure everyone was fed. “Yes daddy?” “I know you miss Luna, so I did something for her so you two can never be apart.” He smiled handing her a box, she look it and opened it on the desk and she was in slight shock. It was Luna, only thing is she was framed. She had a single tear fall down and started to cry. “She’s still so pretty daddy..” Cody knew those were happy tears and hugged her close. Having Luna pinned was a good surprise. “Daddy thank you so much.” She sniffled and kissed his cheek. Cody put Luna on the wall over the desk and smiled as Y/N took pictures showing her friends that are also into bugs. Cody sighed happy that it worked and the plan didn’t go sideways. Happy that his little bug hunter was happy.

in cool kid cody, olive is apparently a god who appears as a loser working as a barista in the tight heights coffee shop. i wonder, who rules over the coffee shop, and what domain olive (a god) ruled over? totally not asking for any fanfiction-related reasons.

olive is the god of criminal reformation and works undercover as a barista for fun. criminal reformation is a very stressful job and making cute snacks and drinks for everyone is one of their favorite way to de-stress.

as for the coffee shop they work at, everyone assumes it's ruled by the god of small family-owned businesses. the truth is the cafe is one of many that's been bought out by luna, god of the biggest chain of coffee shops in hella city, luna's coffee shop. you could also assume that the safari themed cafe that preceded the hella mall location was also bought out by her.
