Despite not being able to feel much, Boothill gives you so much love. An arm wrapped around your waist, tight hugs which brings you closer to himself. Whenever he feels like he wants to feel your touch, he just nuzzles his face into you, chuckling gently with a smirk on his face. Knowing you're too good for someone like him.

Caelus clinging onto you while the Crew watches a horror movie together in the Astral Express. He yelps at the smallest thing, holding you close to himself for dear life. Despite going through life-threatening things, he still was a little scaredy-cat underneath all of that, your little raccoon boyfriend would never change, not like you'd want him to.

Laying your head on Dan Heng's shoulder as he types out something on the Data Bank after your last mission. All of you were tired from what you had experienced, but he diligently writes more information for everybody. Also, gently caressing Imbibitor Lunae's horns, placing soft kisses on them as his tail wraps around your hips, silently trying to pull you closer to himself.

Bathing with Dr. Ratio, he thoroughly washes your body, touching you in places only he can. The bubbly sensation relaxing the two of you as you clean up together. Enjoying the soft, alone time, just for the both of you. With no other people to pry or disturb either of you.

He wasn't fully invincible, and him getting hurt would be inevitable. He knew that his job was dangerous, but letting you at least know he was okay, and that you can make him feel better would make himself feel better.

Jing Yuan letting you sit on his lap as he works. His work was usually boring most of the time, but when you were there with him, it made it so much more interesting. He nuzzled into your neck every now and then, smirking against your skin as he inhaled your scent. He could never get sick of these times with you, and no one could take you away from him, not even the Master Diviner.

Cuddles with Luka after he wins his last match at the Fight Club. It's his little reward from you that he always looked forward to. Even if he did lose, which we all know would barely actually happen, he would always be spoiled like this. He would always love having your warmth and comfort after hard work put into his fights.

Luocha's fingers intertwined with yours as the two of you go through the Luofu together. He wasn't anyone else other than your lover when he was with you, and he'd make sure you know it. Kisses on the back of your hand or playing with your hair when the two of you were alone, or even when there was a man secretly watching from behind the scenes.

Holding Sampo's face in your hands as you gently scold him for conning another person. He just wanted to get money for you, but that didn't mean he had to get it through means like this. You remind him not to do that again, though we both know that he would do it again, all for you.

You were the only one who was loved enough by Sunday to be able to touch his soft wings, other than his own sister. He would let you clean them up, touch them up and even preen any loose feathers that stuck out from the rest. Normally, he'd do it himself, but if it made you happy to help, then he'd let you do what you want.

Laying down with Welt on the couch in the Astral Express' Parlor Car, cuddling with him after a long day of missions at your current stop. He would brush his fingers through your hair. Your head on his chest, his other arm wrapped loosely around your body. Resting for the next day that would be full of exciting adventures for the two of you.

A few weeks ago, you and your boyfriends, Sun, Moon and Eclipse found four peafowl harpy chicks unattended in the safari zone of Birds of Paradise casino. They were tiny, probably newly hatched. You had never seen these kids before, and they didn't look like they belonged to anybody you knew. Sun begged to keep them, his brothers agreeing. You were hesitation, as you didn't know if you wanted kids yet. But after some persist pestering, you decided it would be alright. You and the brothers took the babies up to your private room and put them in your hammock nest.

Soon after, however, the staff came looking for the eight of you. Apparently, those babies were newly imported, and they were supposed to be cared for by a handler. You could see how disappointed your boyfriends were, and that wasn't going to slide. You chased the staff out of your room, making it clear you weren't giving them up. From then on the four of you made sure no human came close to them, not even your handlers. After a few days the casino gave up and let you four be their adoptive parents. They have been with you, Sun, Moon and Eclipse ever since.

You and the brothers gave them names- well, more of nicknames until their first molt-

(Licorice: he/him. Poki: she/her. Luna: She/her or they/them. Calico: he/her/them.)

Sun loved dance for them and (try) to teach them how to do it too. He only showed them simple dances, so they could try to catch on. The only thing he loved better was playing games with them.

Moon's favorite activity to do with them was show them how to sneak around. Of course, they weren't very good, but you believed they would get better with age. Moon would teach them to climb as well.

Eclipse would often sing to them as they went to bed for the night. During the day, he would sing his favorite songs to them when they took naps. He also did most of the grooming and cleaning.

And you? You loved to do whatever activities they were doing with your boyfriends or join them in their naps. They were your precious bundles of joy, and you loved each and every one of them.

Helluva Boss Tickle Headcannons:

Stolas:

Super ticklish despite not being tickled very much in his younger days, (Blitzo is definitely the first one to discover this weakness when they were kids and never really forgot how ticklish Stolas was, or is, for that matter.)

Is a switch, but is definitely is more lee leaning! He enjoys the bondage aspect of it and definitely experiences the most anticipatory giggles.

Has one of the most adorable laughs ever. It doesn't take much to get him laughing. He has such a high-pitched laugh that gets squeaky if you get the right spots.

Worst spots are wings and beneath his feathers.

As a ler, my goodness is this guy fucking RUTHLESS.

Is a demon, so expect to receive whatever tickling is dished out tenfold in return.

His feathers and claws are horrendously evil tickle tools and the mothefucker KNOWS it.

Uses tickling as a torture method for those who most deserve it (cough cough, Blitzo).

Blitzo:

Regularly involved in childhood tickle fights with Fizz. Used to win most of the tickle fights until the accident happened.

So playful and silly, he was the first to initiate a tickle fight with Stolas and the first to realize what a ruthless tickler Stolas is.

Also a switch, very needy as a lee and super teasy as a ler.

Surprisingly a very gentle ler unless otherwise provoked.

Definitely tickles Stolas the most of anyone because Stolas absolutely loves it. Also frequently tickles Millie and Moxxie but mostly Moxxie because he deserves it. Doesn't DARE tickle Luna (he doesn't have

Blitzo used to knock him down a few pegs for getting all the attention by tickling the everloving snot out of him.

Literally never won tickle fights until after the accident. The robot arms improved his tickle fight game tenfold.

His robot arms are indeed also ticklish but offer an advantage in tickle fights by being able to stretch or tickling people far away.

Bottom ribs, hips and sides are his worst spots.

Cannot handle his ribs being counted. (Ozzie found this out, and the poor guy can't rest ahah).

Wheezy laughter that eventually goes silent, and he also thrashes a lot.

Hijo de la luna (The Moon's Son)

Remember this? Yeah, I'm just gonna ramble messily about it. I keep trying to just talk and I keep writing instead so, here you go.

So, for a little bit of context; I roleplay on wsp, that's where my oc, Ilkay, comes from. He has a sister who also plays the game and because I wanted to create a second account I said "you know, what? Might as well use him and make her look like him" (I failed at it, but it's okay cause I can fix it later) few days after, I dreamt of him and Xavier.

In his original lore, he's supposed to be the moon's son, which pretty much makes him a god. I'm not gonna give all the details since it's a lot to write, but I'll say this: he has two sisters, Emma and Nevaeh. Emma died when she was young and Nevaeh is someone he met through his father at a later time and whom he decided to adopt as a sister because of many shared similarities. I'm using Nevaeh as inspiration for mc's appearance while naming her Emma because... well, you'll see why later.

Anyways, since he's a god and his abilities are related to the dark, it made sense to me that in the lads universe his evol would be shadow manipulation, a complete opposite of Xavier's.

The dream was essentially just scattered scenes.

The first one was them training together after Ilkay had asked Xavier to be his sparring partner, since he was the only other one in the association who used a sword to fight wanderers. Then it skips to when Emma (mc) joins the association and people start confusing Ilkay and her for siblings, since they look quite similar. She accompanies Xavier on one of the sparring sessions and spectates them. Ilkay eventually gives in and asks Xavier if they really look that similar and he's forced out of his little denial stage because of Xavier's answer. When they're done, Ilkay meets Tara and is essentially invited into the group outing. During said group outing, Ilkay gets to know Emma a little bit more and it dawns on him that she might actually be his long lost sister who he thought dead.

Then, when Emma looses grandma and Caleb, Ilkay is there to hold her and help her through the pain because he knows what it's like to loose a family member. And from there's a few more time skips to him hanging out more and more with Emma and them acting more and more like siblings.

At some point, I got a tid-bit into Xavier's head where he's struggling to juggle what he feels for Emma and what he feels for Ilkay. On one side, she's his Queen reincarnated, some emotions are bound to resurface. On the other, Ilkay makes him feel things that Emma doesn't. Usually, when other people talk to Emma, he feels jealous but when it's Ilkay who talks to her, he finds that he doesn't care. And then he slowly goes from feeling jealous of who talks to Emma, to feeling jealous of who talks to Ilkay after seeing Ilkay flirt with someone else twice: first time with a woman, second time with a man.

Ilkay, of course, also wants Xavier but he's not gonna do anything about it because 1) he doesn't know how Xav feels about men 2) His sister-who-doesn't-know-because-she-doesn't-remember seems pretty close to him and he's not about to come in between that.

Ilkay meets Rafayel after impulsively going into the arcade, using getting a plushy for Emma as an excuse, and decides that he hates the guy (he doesn't really, he finds him funny, even if a little bit annoying) there's a bit of a one sided rivalry from Rafayel's side and it's so hilarious but so fucking painful because he can't just say "that's my sister you're flirting with, buddy" cause she doesn't know and he hasn't figured out how to tell her. Maybe a dna test? But how would he get her to do one without it being suspicious? He already has a headache from the fish boy, he doesn't want to think about that right now.

Then she goes to the n109 zone with Rafayel's help and both Xav and Ilkay's advice, meets Sylus and comes back a few months later acting a little different. The first thing that happens is her confronting Ilkay about the fact that they are siblings, so they end up having a very emotional conversation about their lives and how it progressed after. They have an impromptu sleepover and invite Tara and Xavier to hangout.

Everything is normal for a while. It's just patrolling, hanging out with Emma and her friends, sparring or doing other things with Xavier – like falling asleep together while on the couch, cuddling in their sleep and then pretending nothing happened and "everything is totally fine," "they definitely don't want to do more than that," "no, I'm not gonna think about this later while in bed/the shower" when they get up – and going on about life.

He ends up meeting Zayne when he finds Emma at a pastry shop. There's a fond look in the mans face and, honesty, he's not that surprised that she has three men wrapped around her finger. Although, he does feel a little bit bitter that one of them is someone he likes, but it's fine, it's not like she has any control over it, she's adorable and all that.

Then it's snippets of Ilkay's life where he's being a hunter, helping his dad with some dirty work and making deals in the Nest. He meets Rafayel again, right when he's going to drink the shot to take the deal. He doesn't approach, simply gives him an acknowledging nod, drinks and leaves to do what he needs to do.

Some time later, Ilkay ends up going back to the n109 zone to cut some dead ends for his father and he meets Sylus while Emma is with him. His only reaction is a raised eyebrow and a teasing "get 'em, girl" because he totally saw everything but he's going to play dumb for now.

When he teases her about it later, she flails and he learns that she's been meeting with Sylus for a while and that she is attracted to him. He doesn't like how he treated her in the beginning and is quite against her being with him, but he trusts her so he won't say anything about it. He's seen her spar with Xavier and he's seen her train by herself, she's more than capable. Besides, he thinks his facial expressions where more than enough.

Then it's his turn to flail when she asks him about his feelings for Xavier and how he should do something about it instead of whatever the fuck he's been doing because "it's fucking annoying to see you pin after each other when both of you clearly feel the same way" and "I've caught you guys cuddling more than enough times, please, I'm tired of pretending otherwise."

He can't really argue against her, try as he might. So, with her blessing and insistent encouragement, he becomes more foward with Xavier, asks him out to things like eating and going to the library or places where they could talk about space and all that shit. Asks about him and offers information about himself in return and the relationship slowly develops.

Ilkay ends up calling him after a rough fight with a Wanderer and that raises up the anti because "gotta take you to the hospital, don't die on me" and yada yada.

It gets a little angsty for Emma cause the abandonment issues hit her hard, Xavier has to stand back while he watches her cling to Ilkay and that breaks him a little cause Tara misunderstands how close they are (he also does it but he keeps quiet). Then it's like "Ew, she's my sister" and Emma flinches away with pure disgust in her face and they realize that they never shared the fact that they were siblings with anyone other than Zayne, Sylus and Rafayel.

Xavier is super fucking relieved, then confused cause "Didn't she die during the catastrophy?"

"I said I 'lost' her, I never said she was dead."

He tells them that they were playing hide and seek with other kids during that time. They where able to find the other kids, but she's the only one that they couldn't find and he'd been haunted with the guilt ever since because that stupid game was his fucking idea in the first place and the one time that he let her hide by herself everything went to shit so fast. They all cry a little bit before leaving, with Tara going back home and Xavier going for food. Emma is the only one who stays and he admits what he hadn't told her the first time.

How he felt so guilty that he started helping his father in the business, filled with so much anger that he'd take it out in his missions. How he became a hunter as a last resort because he wanted to believe that she was still alive, since they never found a body. It's another emotional talk, one where he's terrified of what she'll think of him, cause it's one thing to know your boyfriend-to-be has killed people and it's other thing to know you come from a family of assassin's. He can't gage her reaction, but he can assume that her hug means that she doesn't hate him and doesn't want him far away from her and that's more than enough for now.

He gets discharged and finds himself pleasantly surprised when Xavier gets time off and offers to take care of him while he recovers. Xavier has to insist before Ilkay finally relents and lets the older man take him to his apartment.

He snickers at Xavier's first attempts at cooking, horribly endeared with him, and eventually convinces him to let him be a bit of a guide through the cooking. He progresses fast, to the point where Ilkay only watches, barely commenting anything as he keeps him company.

During a talk about music and interests and life as a hunter, Lumiere ends up coming as a topic. He laughs at Xavier's petulant look when he praises the man and he pokes the older man's cheek before saying "you look so adorable like this" he wants to eat him up, he wants to take the plunge so badly, but he's even more terrified of everything going wrong, so he keeps himself in check "Don't worry, Xav, you're cool too"

That night, they cuddle in bed. Ilkay is on his back, one of his arms being used as a pillow by Xav while the silver haired man leaves an arm over his chest.

And then I don't remember anything else...

Spontaneous Roleplay for Dummies OR How to roleplay with random strangers on the internet, no plotting required OR XIV in game roleplay specific & general writing tips

I've been roleplaying for a good long while now and I'm starting to see some issues trending lately. So here is a guide/tips from me, a spontaneous RPer, who has run into a lot of younger or newer RPers without a lot of guidance. Let me have the honor of trying to help. Or at least let me share what I want some people to know.

i) So you go to a venue. The safest way to start RPing with literally anyone in particular is to ask them an opening question. It doesn’t have to be ground-breaking.

Sonny Silvertear: “Hi there! I'm Sonny, what’s your name?” “ Luna Lifebringer: “Hi? My name’s Luna.”

ii) If the stranger doesn’t “yes and” you, move on. People are jerks, and if they judge you, that’s on them. If someone doesn’t respond in fifteen minutes, you’re safe to move on. (People type slow in game, so fifteen minutes feels like the safest number to me. Please work within your comfort zone–it’s a part of creating boundaries and protecting yourself!)

iv) If you’re the stranger sitting around waiting for someone to ask you a question, the polite thing to do is “yes and” them back. Sometimes, this means just saying something that your new roleplay partner can respond to. It doesn’t always have to be a question!

Luna Lifebringer: “Are you new here? I haven’t seen you around.” Sonny Silvertear: “It’s my first time here. Do you come here often?”

Remember: No talk is too small. Small talk can lead to big talk if you continue to “yes and” with your partner. If you take an interest in someone else’s character, the courteous thing is for them to take an interest in yours.

(As an aside, it’s a little narcissistic to wonder why someone took an interest in your character unless they offer the information themselves. If they compliment you, make sure you find something nice and genuine to say back! Most of the time, the safe assumption is that people are just trying to make friends–unless you have good reason to believe otherwise, of course.)

v) “But I play a character who doesn’t talk too much?” Body language is a great way to show emotion for characters who are stoic. If they can’t offer much dialogue, you can help your partner out by sharing your character’s thoughts or assumptions in your prose. It does NOT have to be fancy or complicated.

Luna Lifebringer: “Not really, no.” Luna raised an eyebrow, then turned to her drink. She wasn’t sure why this cheerful stranger was talking to her, but she didn’t mind it. She just didn’t think it made sense to share her prior line of thought–about the adventure she’d just survived, in a dungeon where she pretty much carried the party with the strength of her white magic.

Sonny Silvertear: “You seem to have a lot on your mind. Do you wanna talk about it?”

Luna Lifebringer: “Not really, no.” She smiled weakly at Sonny, but without any malice. She didn’t want him to think she was annoyed. “What about you? Something on your mind?”

Sonny Silvertear: “Not really, no.” He had to laugh. Should he have come up with conversation topics beforehand? He was new at the social thing, which he hadn’t known was part of the adventuring thing until he’d picked up the mantle of sprout.

Luna Lifebringer: Luna Lifebringer laughs, too. “I guess we both came out to enjoy a nice drink.”

Sonny Silvertear: “I really like drinking. But I’m not, like, a drunk!”

vi) “But how do I get out of small talk territory?” This is where you choose to be vulnerable. Contrary to what some people might tell you, it’s alright to share some exposition about your character’s backstory. It just has to seem natural–and the best way to make something seem natural is to find a natural opportunity to share.

Luna Lifebringer: “Well, good. Because I hate drunks, lies and deception. Especially deception.”

Sonny Silvertear: “Anyone who knows a drunk hates drunks.”

Luna Lifebringer: “You, too? I’ll drink to that!”

vii) “But my partner isn’t picking up on my cues.” That happens sometimes. It can happen a lot if your cues aren’t obvious. It can also happen if you run into a lot of people who are either really uninterested, really tired, or just really not perceptive. Those are all not your fault, so you can’t compensate for that. When you find yourself working too hard, it’s okay to drop the RP, either by finding a reason to leave, talking to someone else, or simply ending the conversation.

viii) “What if I’m not getting their cues?” Then it’s perfectly harmless to bring up what you think they’re referring to, or something new entirely, so long as you acknowledge whatever else the person said. Remember that you don’t have to respond to every single line–just what you think is important, either to you or to them. That way, no one feels like they wasted what they wrote.

Sonny Silvertear: “Yeah, me, too. My dad.”

Luna Lifebringer: “That sucks.”

Sonny Silvertear: “Yeah. My dad sucked.”

Luna Lifebringer: “Mine did, too. Is there a rule somewhere that says dads have to suck?”

Sonny Silvertear: “I think that’s part of why everyone hates drunks. Because they make terrible fathers.”

ix) Don’t write more than you need to. An easy way to lose your partner’s attention or try their patience is making them read a small novel, only to find out the last two lines are all they need to read to reply. That doesn’t mean you can’t share lovely details about your characters; it just means you need to choose those details wisely. For example, if there’s something about your character that we can’t see on the model, like freckles under a scar or a third color of hair on their head, bring it up if it seems relevant. Just ask yourself why it’s relevant and why you want your new partner to know about it.

Luna Lifebringer: She laughed. It was bubbly, but there was a sadness hiding amid the bubbles somewhere. “More women need to not sleep with drunk dudes.”

Sonny Silvertear: He nodded once, firmly. His smile reached his eyes, though the light in them was gone. He looked at his hands. Without gloves to hide the scars, it was easy to see how rough they were. “It would save everyone a lot of stress, time and work.”

x) Use the right words. It’s hard to figure out what the right words are, but sometimes, that’s because they’re simple. And sometimes it’s because they’re not. Really, the key is to make sure the word means what you think it means. The thesaurus doesn’t give you words that are exactly interchangeable; it gives you words that can mean the same things, in a general sense, but mean something specific when you look closer.

Old: Luna looked around the bar. She was by herself, but she was waiting for someone, so she didn’t feel like a total loser. She just needed to be patient. She smiled at the bartender and took her drink, then looked around some more for the right seat. (Grade: C)

New: Luna looked around the bar. She felt self-conscious, but reminded herself that she was waiting for someone. When the bartender handed her the drink she ordered, she smiled graciously. Then, she looked for a place to sit. (Grade: B)

Don’t ask me how to get an A, starters are hard. Making yourself look known and available, and giving people an insight to where your character is mentally, is a good start. Frankly, I’d just sit my character somewhere before I made a starter but I wanted to try something new. I don’t think it worked. But the point is, the words are better. They’re more varied and less soulless. But sometimes soulless gets you through the day, so don’t judge yourself too hard.

xi) When writing a character from a specific place, try to use in-game dialogue to influence the depiction of your character’s ethnic background or childhood experiences. There are a lot of NPCs in the game and a lot of MSQ dialogue by people from different places on the Star. So, if you start RPing a character of a different background than yours, the best starting point is the source material. Although the source has its own problems, it’s also the text we share. Identifying the problems in the material is more like the second or third step in character building; but it’s unlikely folks will be angry with you for drawing from the source. However, do try to research the places in game and their real world counterparts to get a sense of where your character should be. It helps add depth and it helps you learn about the world, too! Creating, writing and researching for non-Western characters is its own large topic; this is just a good starting point, in my experience.

xii) In Conclusion: show people you care to know about other people’s characters. Focus on what they need to know about yours in the moment. Artistry can follow once you have the meat down in place. Don’t commit so much to aesthetic that you lose the ability to build relationships with other people. When you take an interest in those around you, the world really opens up. And isn’t that what being an adventurer is all about?

Do you play an instrument?: Yes :) Guitar, ukulele, piano, and bass which is my fav. I also sing and have released music (I’ve been on the Grammy ballot a couple times but I’ve ‘retired’ from music)

Do you have any pets?: Yes !!! I currently have 2 dogs ( a corgi mix named Ein ((from Cowboy Bebop)) and a rat terrier named Luna but we call her Lulu), 3 cats (a black cat named Boo Boo ((she’s my soul cat <3)), a tabby named Stormy, and a tuxedo cat named Mitski). And my mom has my other dog with her back home, a pitbull mix named Bailey but he doesn't do well around other dogs and she lives alone so she kept him, and she has my (very very very old I don't know how he's still alive) parakeet named Bongo. This year I lost 3 fur babies :( my maine coon named Lily, she was very old and it was her time, my other tuxedo cat Squid, she had a mummified fetus that we found out about too late, and my ferret Jedidiah, he was old and had cancer. It’s been a hard year but I am grateful for my babies and the time I get to spend with them <3 I love love love animals and I've had so many fur babies, I've had cats, dogs, hamsters, gerbils, guinea pigs, a rabbit, chameleons, a hedgehog, and a duck
