This post will cover the basics and main inspirations of my fanmade Pirate101 World, Galantis! I hope you all enjoy~

Overview 🌊⋆｡°்⋆

Galantis is a closed-off world in the Spiral, locked by the current Emperor; and guarded by his army. If a person is able to reach Galantis, they will discover a technologically advanced, oceanic paradise; hidden away from the rest of the world. The Stormgate to Galantis is located in MooShu, but is inaccessible to any travelers.

The initial reason for Galantis's closed borders was due to the Polarian War. The Emperor did not wish to get involved in the conflict, and feared involvement due to the relative closeness between Galantis and its neighboring world of MooShu. So, the borders were closed, and the Emperor ignored the outside world; instead focusing on the personal development of his nation through machinery and economy.

.•⋅˚₊The People ଳ ‧₊˚

Since many Pirate101 worlds, and to a further extent, Wizard101 worlds, have many diverse species of people; and Galantis is no exception. The people of Galantis are from the class Gastropoda; aka, slugs and snail-adjacent animals. They are specifically based on the marine variants of these animals, sea slugs and sea snails.

The current ruling Emperor of Galantis, Emperor Gyeong Glaucus, is a type of Glaucus Altanticus (See image below).

Sea slugs and sea snails are very diverse animals from species to species, and this is reflective of the population of Galantis.

𓂂 ·˚ •Culture 🌊🪸

Galantis is inspired by East Asian culture, specifically South Korea and North Korea. Another main inspiration for Galantis is the legend of Atlantis, a city from Greek mythos written by Plato.

One major invention from Galantis is a form of energy source known as "Bio-Lumi Fuel". Bio-Lumi Fuel is harvested from the organic plant-life from the World, and is what powers a majority of Galantis's technology. Due to the power of Bio-Lumi Fuel, the Galantians have been able to invent their own forms of machines, robots, and screens.

Therefore, culture and trends are very mainstream. Many different styles of fashion have rose to popularity through the influences of music idols in the music industry.

Sea Angelic 🐌🪽

A fashion style known as "Sea Angelic" was popularized by the musical idol "Sea Angel" or Cheonsa Clione. This fashion style is more traditional, and takes inspiration from traditional Korean clothing and acessories. Such as the usage of the hanbok and norigae.

Cyber Screen 🐌💻

One of the most mainstream styles of fashion in Galantis: popularized by the most well-known musical idols, Nembrotha and BLUE SCREEN. This style is more akin to the styles of Cyber Punk, mixed with modernized fashion. The main elements of this style is the usage of the color blue, and the heavy reliance on Galantian technology.

These are only a few of the most popular fashion styles in this World.

˖°🌊⋆Landscape🐚🫧

Galantis has two main Skyways, Palansaeg Skyway and Nudibranch Skyway. It only has one Stormgate, located in Palansaeg Skyway; leading to MooShu. The land is a purplish-blue tint, and the skies are a deep purple tone. The player is able to see jellyfish-like animals floating around the Skyways.

Palansaeg Skyway (Korean: 파란색 스카이웨이)

The main Skyway of Galantis, containing the capital city, Soul City. Soul City is very urbanized, utilizing Bio-Lumi technology. The music industry flourishes in Soul City, allowing for the world as a whole to improve its economy.

Fun Fact: "Palansaeg" is the Korean for the phrase "Blue". So, Palansaeg Skyway roughly translates to: "Blue Skyway".

Nudibranch Skyway

The secondary Skyway of Galantis, mostly inhabited by farmers, religious figures, and those who wish to escape the bustling Palansaeg Skyway. The main industry in Nudibranch Skyway is food production, mainly algae, cnidarians, corals, and sponges.

Fun Fact: "Nudibranch" is a scientific term referring to sea slugs. It means "naked gills" in Greek.

⋆˚࿔How Outsiders View Galantis᭡.

Galantis, due to its closed borders, has remained in obscurity in the minds of the average people of the Spiral. There are some Galantian refugees found in MooShu, but not anywhere else.

The Armada, however, has heard rumors of Galantis's advanced technology; and wants to find a way to access the World to help set up an alliance between the Armada and Galantis.

Chance: So, you may be wondering, “How on earth are you gonna show a death battle? Is that not too gruesome for TV?” And I say don’t you all worry your pretty little heads. This battle royal is simulated, meaning the contestants will not feel a thing. As it’s styled like The Hunger Games, the aim of the game is to be the last one to survive! The last contestant remaining will get the Victorious Ones trophy from yours truly!

We’ve sent everyone down into their districts. Before I give the signal for everyone to begin, let’s have a listen in to some contestants thoughts through our live video screen!

(The 200 follower event is a go! Each week, I will post what the simulator mentions on it and add some drawings about what’s happened. As I said, I’m not gonna make them gruesome or serious. It will be in a comedic tone with slapstick-styled “deaths”.

I saw your tags on your thread about lumi and apollo and it made me realize how much I wish breeding issues were... I guess less stigmatized? It's like we have a community that embraces morphs with known problems, but we're still afraid to talk about potential problems in "safe" morphs. It really sucks. I know it's because capitalism but it's not like it's stopped actually proven bad breeds so why can't we just have an open dialogue instead of hiding the bad like most breeders do?

You're totally right.

I know it's that people are afraid that they'll lose their reputation or have to give up their hobby. It's no fun to be the person who's saying, "hey this animal you're obsessed with is probably going to live a short, painful life so let's don't make more of them please." Few breeders want to admit that there might be a problem because if we admit there's a problem somebody is going to have to pay to fix it.

If I just don't notice, maybe it'll go away on its own and I can focus on producing my line. Maybe mine won't have that problem. Buyers will ultimately get whatever they think they want, so it's not like they just won't buy a breed or species if it's not right in their grasp. Look how many folks get scammed online buying sight-unseen "purebred" frenchie puppies. At least I'm not a scammer.

I'm not saying I actually hold or agree with this sentiment, but this is part of the thinking that keeps breeders from acknowledging possible issues within their lines.

It's especially bad in the reptile industry because snakes take a relatively long time to reach physical maturity and can only breed once per year. Be it ego or sunk cost, few breeders are willing to admit that the gene they've worked for ten or fifteen years to propagate is causing a fatal mutation in the offspring they're producing. There's also an element of doubt: Was that pairing actually bad, or did something go wrong in my incubator?

Another thing I think is going on is that for a while there, the trend was to buy new morphs in sibling pairs from the same clutch and then breed them together to make more of that morph. I saw it everywhere when I first got into corn snakes. Thankfully it's now less common as I think a few newer breeders got a hard lesson in coefficients of inbreeding and the early proponents of the practice started seeing diminishing returns. Reptiles aren't as quick to show inbreeding depression as mammals, but there is a limit and I think that some morphs in particular have reached it.

I think we should as keepers and breeders talk more openly about problems, genetic and systemic and situational. I think we're getting better, together. It's a process. We still have a ways to go.

As Time Moves On Part 4: The Mystery in Spade

Summary: The reconstruction effort in Spade Kingdom brings about a disturbing revelation. Genre: general Word count: ~1800

The bitter cold was nothing new to the Spade Kingdom. Winters were long and harsh. Summers were fleeting like a breeze. But the people of Spade became resilient over the generations, especially so after the reign of terror that was the Zogratis family.

Thanks to the efforts of Spade’s Resistance Force and Clover Kingdom’s Magic Knights, freedom and peace were restored.

The long night known as the Devil Banishment War was passed. And the people of Spade, with renewed hope and strength, worked to usher in a new era of peace.

“Thanks to the citizens, as well as the aid sent from Heart and Clover, we’re keeping a decent pace for the reconstruction plans we initially put forth.”

“Diamond Kingdom is in a state of political unrest. Not only from the Zogratis annexing some of their territory but also due to internal conflicts. We can’t expect any word from them any time soon.”

“We’ve sent messengers to Lumi Kingdom regarding assistance. There’s no telling how long it will take for them to respond though.”

“Every resident of the capital city has confirmed that they have new lodging. Either within another town or in the nearby tent cities.”

Ciel nodded along as her team of advisors filled her in on the state of affairs. It fell to her to lead her people after the Zogratis family was removed from power. She wished she didn’t have to do it alone, that Loyce was still there sharing the burden.

But Loyce was no longer of this world. He was in a better place. So Ciel made it her duty to restore Spade to the joyous land they’d once led together.

While listening to her advisors, Ciel also concentrated her mana on a spell: Full Moon Haven.

With the spell, she imbued an area with the gentle light of the moon, healing wounds and restoring stamina. She’d learned it years ago, before ever being queen, and in the present, she used it to tend to the many volunteers who toiled to clear debris and find those who were injured or killed during the Devil Banishment War. It was a blessing to have in her grimoire, as it meant she was able to serve her people as kindly as they served her.

“How soon do you think the capital will be rebuilt?” Ciel asked while slowly diminishing her mana output.

“Due to…” Albert, the leader of the resistance and one of Ciel’s advisors, paused and cleared his throat. It was more to break the tension that came with what he was about to say. “Due to the King of Devils leveling most of the capital city, there hasn’t been much large debris so clearing the land has been quick work. However, we can’t proceed quite yet as the task of recovering the bodies of the deceased has come to a standstill. It’s concerning the… high priority ones.”

Ciel’s eyes went wide and she bit the inside of her cheek to keep her face composed.

“I see.”

Ciel finished casting Full Moon Haven and sent off the patients, either to their lodgings or to a more skilled healer for severe wounds. Then, she and the advisors slipped away, towards the shadows of the castle ruins.

There were some questions she would need answered in privacy.

Dante Zogratis, Vanica Zogratis, and Zenon Zogratis of the Dark Triad. Moris Libardirt, former Magic Scholar of the Diamond Kingdom.

While reports from Clover’s Magic Knights attested to their downfalls, Ciel and her advisors had made it a priority to find their bodies again to confirm their deaths. The people of Spade had put their all into the task alongside preparing for the rebuilding of homes. And yet after four months…

“Has nothing from any of them been recovered?”

Ciel’s advisors frowned grimly.

“Are we certain that we’ve checked every possible nook and cranny of the castle? We’ve left no piece of rubble unturned? We haven’t ignored any rooms by accident, have we?” Ciel inquired between deep breaths.

“Your Majesty, we’re sure,” Albert answered and bowed his head slightly. “This was our fifth full area search. We cannot find a trace of them.”

Ciel wrung her hands together. Closed her eyes, squeezed them shut tight. She took deep breaths. Deep, slow, trying-to-prevent-panic breaths. With a final exhale, Ciel opened her eyes and looked her advisors in the eyes.

“Thank you for informing me,” she stated with the grace she’d practiced as queen. “If I may, I ask that I have a moment to myself.”

“Yes, Your Majesty,” the advisors spoke in unison as they bowed their heads. Then, they turned and left her be.

When Ciel felt sure she was on her own, she let out a heavy sigh. She placed her hands over her heart, feeling its anxious rhythm. After the coup and so many years living in hiding and praying for a miracle, Ciel believed she’d gotten used to being worried. But no, she’d only been used to worrying about the Dark Triad finding her to finish what they’d started.

Now, she feared that they could return and ruin the peace that was still new to the kingdom.

Ciel paced the area.

Yuno’s personal witness testimony detailed how Zenon turned into a devil and how his body crumbled upon defeat. The search for his body had been futile from the start. But that didn’t explain why nothing of Vanica, Dante, or Moris was found. Could it be that their bodies were completely crushed in the rubble? And that only unidentifiable, rotting bits of flesh and bloodstains remained?

Or…

Ciel shuddered.

There were individuals, the Dark Disciples, who earnestly followed the Zogratises. Is it possible that some of them survived and salvaged their leaders’ bodies? And since the Dark Disciples had no qualms about using Forbidden Magic, if the bodies were found… Then…

Her breath caught in her throat.

Vanica’s piercing, maniacal laugh while demanding a fight echoed in her ears.

Zenon’s listless gaze flashed across her mind’s eye, as if burned into her memory.

Dante’s hands and how they so carelessly dropped Loyce’s body to the floor, prepared to take her life next, made her body tremble.

Not again… She didn’t want the terror to return… To lose everything all over again…

Ciel clenched her hands into fists and shook her head.

“Don’t worry. Spade is safe now,” Yuno had said with a hushed confidence. “And I won’t let it come to harm again. As the next Wizard King, it’d be my duty to.”

A half-hearted laugh slipped past Ciel’s lips. Yuno’s statement didn’t make much sense but his heart was in the right place. It was in a place full of hope.

“That’s right…” Ciel told herself. “I can’t give into fear. Not now.”

There wasn’t a chance that Ciel would let herself give up so easily after everything that she and her people had endured. Not after hope in the form of mages from Clover and Heart arrived and chased away the darkness. Not after she got to see the man her son had become and still strove to be.

The Queen of Spade looked to the sky. The clouds were gray as per usual. However, their shade appeared lighter than usual.

…..

“Dear people of Spade Kingdom. I thank you all for gathering today so that I may address you regarding our current reconstruction efforts.”

Ciel’s voice carried across the crowd of people. Their faces showed tiredness and concern but mostly curiosity.

“As of now, we’re making good progress in rebuilding our kingdom.”

Smiles began to appear on people’s faces.

Ciel went on to summarize how clean up has concluded, how foreign aid would continue to be provided, and how resources were being allocated for the various reconstruction projects. The good news that she shared made the people’s moods brighter. And it lightened Ciel’s own heart to know that Spade was already rising up.

All that good news, though, would be soured by the troubling announcement she had to make next.

“There are many good things in store for Spade as we continue to rebuild our kingdom. However, it is with a heavy heart that I also deliver bad news to you all. It is a matter of transparency that I tell you all. While parties worked to recover the bodies of the deceased for proper burials, a select group was tasked with finding the bodies of specific individuals: the Dark Triad and their conspirator Moris Liberdirt. I and my advisors desired to confirm without a reasonable doubt that those four were indeed dead. Unfortunately, nothing of them has been recovered during these last four months.”

The grinning faces fell away and color drained from many complexions.

“As your queen, I apologize for being unable to fully confirm their deaths. I apologize for having to deliver such a frightening message. But I felt that you needed to know, so that you may understand my dedication to putting everyone at ease and giving them reason to have even greater hope, even if I could not follow through this time.

“The Zogratises and Moris haven’t turned up thus far and we might have to consider that their bodies may never turn up. However! We cannot let the memory of the Zogratis family and their actions hold us captive. My dear and brave citizens, I implore you! Let us remember how we have endured and overcome a dark period of our kingdom’s history. Let us bolster our spirits with resolve. We shall rebuild the Spade Kingdom to what it once was and make new memories for the next generation of our people!”

After Ciel’s voice dissipated into the sky, silence permeated the crowd.

Ciel looked upon her people.

Let my prayer resonate with them…

Then,

“For Spade Kingdom!” a voice from the crowd yelled.

“Towards a brighter future!” cried another as they raised their fist.

“Aye!”

“This is our kingdom again!”

“Here here!”

Shouts of determination arose, a testament to how the people had been weakened but not broken.

It was later decided that the corpses of Dante, Vanica, Zenon, and Moris didn’t need to be found. In all likelihood, the Zogratis family and Moris were dead. Their bodies lost to the land and their souls damned for their cruelty. As cold as it sounded, Ciel was glad to think that to be the case.

Uncertainty nestled within Ciel’s heart. However, the memory of her son’s affirmation and the optimistic calls of her citizens drowned out the whisper of fear.

E Alinac - Thinks they're nice! - E didn't spend much time in the capital prior to becoming the head of the Alinac family, so Lumi's really only seen them around in the last year - They've snuck her treats from other nations a few times though, so that automatically puts them in her good books - They don't really play with her, but one time they did hide her from her nanny after she snuck out so she's always happy to see them (her nanny, on the other hand...)

O Marchand - Thinks they're mean - O isn't great with people in general (especially kids) so they tend to avoid unnecessary interaction - Lumi tried to talk to them once but O told her to stop bothering them, so she hasn't tried again since (she maintains that they're a big meanie)

M - Has never met M, so no opinion

Legacy - Has only seen Legacy once speaking to her grandfather, but only for a moment and was never able to interact with them - Honestly doesn't even know who they are, she only glimpsed them once after all - and there's a lot of people in the palace, so she thought they were one of the royal servants and then promptly forgot about them

Welcome to the Aruverse™!

(it's not really trademarked but you can't use it no takesies-backsies)

The Aruverse™ is basically a collection of dimension in which different sets of fictional characters interact and develop continuously. This multiverse is ever growing and expanding with the passage of time.

The distribution of lore inside the Aruverse™ is shown as a series of short stories, each of which falls into a certain place inside an established timeline. The stories can also be referred to as EPISODES.

EPISODES are contained and organized within CHAPTERS and ARCS with different focal points in the main story of each dimension. A single ARC can contain more than one CHAPTER.

Sometimes, a CHAPTER can shift focus from one group to another at differing parts of a timeline. Any character can start their story as part of one group or dimension and end up in a completely different one as their story goes on.

Not every group is necessarily in a different dimension, but groups have clear separations between one another. Some groups also subdivide into smaller collections of characters that help with worldbuilding in a special way.

Ash and Dust have found like-minded people in the form of Fives and Echo. And Fives and Echo know that they don't have to deal with children hyped up on sugar since both Ash'ika and Dust belong to Blue and Older Ahsoka.

Ahsoka folds her arms as she looks between Obi-Wan and Quinlan, who came on one of the many ships, "So now that we have a planet, it's time to start the war in earnest?" She asks. "That's the plan," Quinlan replies, "In theory." "In theory?" Obi-Wan asks. Quin makes a face, "We need allies. Which means a lot of this first year is going to be us running around and trying to remake the Republic." "Sounds...annoying." Ahsoka says with a sigh. "Moreso since Palpatine has Coruscant, which has been the heart of the Republic for centuries." Quinlan folded his arms, "I suppose we could make the old Capital of the Empire the home of the New Republic. But Mace says that's a bad idea. So basically, we're flying blind for the time being." "That's...fun." Obi-Wan says tiredly. "Tell me about it." "Well, we have Alderaan?" Ahsoka points out. "We also have Naboo." Quin adds, "Which is a nice start. Both of those planets were key to the Republic." He claps, "Anyway, I'm grabbing Lumi and Kit and we're having us time before the war starts and we can't see each other in ages. So. Come on. You're coming too." "Wait. I need to find Ashanii and Dust-" "I'm sure they're fine. There are plenty of adults around to keep them out of trouble." Meanwhile "Dust! These are my friends, Caleb," Ashanii points to him, "Cal," Cal waves eagerly, "And Omega." Omega smiles as she cradles her puppy to her chest. "Guys, this is Dust!" "Hi!" “ Now I need you to listen to me; I’m going to go downstairs and help your father, now you’ll probably hear a bunch of frightening noises but I don’t want you to panic ok? It’s just me and your father taking care of things. After we’re finished all of us are going to go on a trip, we might even go to the Capital.” Idalia tried to sound cheerful, but instead it was a mixture of cheerful and sadness. “ I need you to do something for me ok? I need you to stay in here until your father and I come and get you, do not open this door for anyone! Even if you know them, do not open it. Do you understand?” She watched her daughter slowly nod her head, she smiled softly before kissing her forehead.

“ No matter what happens, your daddy and I love you so much. You’re the best thing to ever come into our lives, and I’m so grateful to have you as my daughter. My little diamond.” Her voice cracked at the end as new unshed tears began to pool in her eyes, Idalia cleared her throat before placing another kiss on Neva’s head and gently pushing her into the small cupboard. She closed the door and the magic barrier went back up. Idalia quickly turned and ran out of the bedroom, she could hear banging and loud noises float upwards from downstairs, she hoped she wasn’t too late.

16 from a recent piece i want to brag about

The way I haven’t written much of anything in over a month let alone anything I want to brag about 😭 *shakes fist at school*! But I guess this little snippet that’ll be in “Children of the Future: Shadows of the Past” is one I really like!

Her grey eyes stared into his as the two stood there looking at one another. A glimpse of her true feelings bubbling to the surface.

She loved him, and he loved her, they loved each other…

But in completely different ways.

She loved him as one would love a romantic partner, while he loved her as one would love a good friend or sibling…they both knew this.

But never spoke of it. It was like an unwritten rule between them. They recognized each other's feelings, but didn’t acknowledge them. If they acknowledged it then that meant they would have to talk about it.

And neither one wanted to talk about it.

Maybe it was because they were afraid their teamwork and dynamic would change if they did, or maybe…they were afraid their friendship would change…

This unspoken feeling between them was fine, at least for now…

Discordia Helheim, formerly Faust, had raven black hair that was partially up in a low side ponytail, and she had the signature Faust bright blue eyes. She gave everyone a small smile.

Sure! I can give you some info on everyone's species!

Lumi:

Lumi's species are called Novins, though rather unofficially! They're basically stars in their universe, and you can usually find them lighting up the night sky. More frequently though, they spend their time in one of the Sanctuary's many star nurseries, where they're held and raised until they reach 1,000 celestials (age)!

Novins come it at least six colors, those being red, green, orange, yellow, white, and blue! Red being the largest, and white being the smallest. Every Novin has five points that make up their 'hair', but how they shape it is up to them! Every Novin also has a tail shaped similar to their hair! It works as a comet tail and allows them to streak across the night sky with ease.

Siona:

Siona's species are called Gastropodas, and have a wide variety of species! Each member of their species has three fingers and three toes, with the only difference between them being antennae length, size, tail length, and of course, scales! Each Gastropoda has inverted eyes- black eyes with white pupils, though shape and size vary.

Davin:

Davin's species are called Pillupa, and are basically lizard aliens! Each species has a snake-like hood that shields them from the heat of their two suns. They have four fingers on each hand and three toes, and a long tail that acts almost as a third arm. They've also got big, bushy eyebrows that helps keep grit and dirt out of their eyes! Pillupas are very strong and can lift almost five times their weight. They're also known as the farmer species, given that most if not all of their species lives on a planet well known for their produce.

Mika:

Mika's species are called Avidae, and just from their appearance, you can tell they're birds! While Mika, more specifically is an owl, most of the Avidae species range from different species of birds, whether it be cardinals, blue jays or peacocks! The one similarity they do share though is that all Avidae are pretty much flightless. They developed hand-like wings or claws, which aren't exactly useful for intergalactic travel- not that they'd want to anyway, considering Avidae are one of the secondary royalty species in the galaxy.

Holden:

Holden's species are called Caprabis, and their species is known for their strength! They're incredibly strong (even stronger than Pillupas) and are more frequently known to take on jobs that require heavy lifting. Honestly, I haven't quite figured out the in-depth of these guy's species yet, but I'm sure I will sometime ahaha

Felicity:

Felicity's species Floridae are based on flowers (if it wasn't already obvious!) Being the 'main' royal species in the galaxy, these aliens are known for their collaborations with Avidae and Pillupas, helping the Pillupas with their produce and Avidae with their food production. These royals rarely leave their planet and are very snobbish and uptight. They hold a high power over their citizens and frequently appear in fashion magazines, since their planet is also known as the fashion capital of the galaxy.

some rant since I just remembered yesterday was valentine

I need to contribute to this year's valentines day as a proud aroacespec

(excuse the tardiness fellow aroacespec, I completely forgot it on purpose and decided that I should just probably write my thoughts on it just today)

Valentine's day has never been my cup of tea, even before I identify as an aroacespec.

I somehow viewed the whole celebration as some sort of mockery to my own incapability of feeling love based on amanormativity standards.

It basically made me desperate as I grew an internalised arophobia back in the day.

That is until I realise why I was like that, and I'm glad I did.

Personally, my thoughts on romance fluctuates. Sometimes I'm averse with it, indifferent or most of the time; repulsed by it.

What I am sure of is I can't see myself interested in any way with romance.

And unfortunately, some people (mostly aphobics) can't seem to differentiate what love and romance is.

And the thing is... valentine is supposedly a Christian feast day celebrated in honours of St. Valentine; a martyr.

Which makes it quite uhmm disgusting how an important day in someone's belief was twisted in such ways on behalf of capitalism and then labeling it as love (which they actually meant romance specifically).

Don't get me wrong, I don't give a shit about this day specifically.

But what I do give a shit about is how people twisting several definitions regarding feelings that adolescent barely knew about and giving a living hell to those who doesn't understand or feel it to the degree of their definition.

I'm speaking from experience in my childhood before I identify as aroacespec.

Like I said earlier, I had an internalised arophobia growing up.

When seeing any depiction of romance, I always thought I was going to feel that way one day, and yet it never came.

And with almost everyone around me asking me why I'm so.. inhumane for not being attracted to anyone, my thoughts on how I feel became more and more unpleasant.

I really hated myself for not feeling any 'love', I always found myself asking why is it so hard to feel what's supposedly making me human and even tried to force myself with their 'love'.

Then I grew up, and I understand myself a little better. Knowing that there are other people experiencing similar things with me makes me feel a little better about myself.

So I guess the main point of this whole post is you don't need to listen to people like that.

Yes, you are loveless by their standards.

But they don't know what you've been through, they don't know how you actually feel, they don't have the right or any sort of authority on what you feel.

You're not inhumane. Your feelings do matter. And just because you don't experience what the majority feels, it doesn't make you or any of your feelings any less significant.

🎉🎉🎉 200 follower hunger games simulator oc challenge! 🎉🎉🎉

It’s been decided that the hunger games simulator is going ahead! Very much looking forward to it!

First, the participants! I can have a maximum of 48 ocs join this challenge and a minimum of 24 challengers (If it turns out more people want to join, I’d happily increase the number). If you have multiple ocs, feel free to submit them for the challenge. However, I’m going to focus on having it be fair for everyone so your other ocs will only join if there’s space by the time I start the simulator.

Leave a comment with who you’d like to join and I’ll update this post with who’s joining. I mean, Destino will also be joining too, for a bit of fun.

Make sure I can also find the reference of your character in an easy place as the sim also comes with a add a photo button and I think that’d be fun.

Each week, I’m going to post an update with how your ocs are getting on with some art to go along with it. Any “deaths” will be drawn in a comedic way (I definitely don’t want to drawn any of them seriously hurt). Feel free to also draw some moments from this too if there’s any I haven’t drawn. The OC that wins the hunger games simulator challenge will have a drawing of their victory!

💫What is your favourite fact about this character and why?

Valerius: honestly the fact he fell into being a Champion of Urgathoa because he was so good at his job that he was invited into the fold and accepted the offer purely because he was bored of his highly successful legal career.

Leonelle: she has the equivalent of cheat sheets but for minor diabolic summoning spells tattooed on her arms.

Lumi: she's scared of swans. It's a small - and honestly, understandable. Swans are terrifying - thing, but I should point out that swans are the sacred animal of her deity.

🌺 What does your OC do to calm down when they’re scared or after a nightmare? Do they have any special comfort items or need to be reassured by a specific person? How do they handle this if they’re alone?

I think it would be a surprise if any KC didn't come away from the Fifth Crusade without something haunting them - for Valerius, it was his time trapped in the Battlebliss and will sometimes have nightmares as a result of it.

If he is alone, Valerius will often do one of two things: either spend some time in religious contemplation or going for a midnight ride, I guess. He needs something else to focus on and he found while working on legislation and decrees was productive overall, it didn't help him calm down. If anything, it just made him stress more. Praying he finds especially soothing, reciting his tenets, going over verses in his copies of Urgathoa's profane texts.

When he and Camellia are back together, and he inevitably wakes her up either through trying to get out of bed without waking her (he is not the stealthiest of men) or through the fact he is very much Moving when he is usually - if you'll pardon the expression - as still as the grave when asleep, Valerius finds her presence to be quite soothing. She is good at helping him burn off all that nervous energy and getting him to relax, or just be a comforting presence by his side if he chooses to pray. He knows that Camellia isn't the best with words, and he doesn't expect words of comfort or affirmation from her. Her being there is enough for him.

🌳 What is your OC’s favourite way to relax after a stressful day? Do they have a favourite book to curl up with? A hobby? Or do they have a nice bubble bath and have an early night to bed?

Leonelle's favourite way to relax or destress is definitely the tried and true method of having an exceptionally long bath until her skin prunes. Her affinity for fire magic means she can often keep the water to the same temperature for her liking no matter what (a major boon, honestly.) Giving her hair a deep clean if she has been away from the capital for long enough. Redoing her nails.

🌾 Describe your OC through the eyes of someone absolutely head-over-heels in love with them

Luminița was, prior to the campaign, a bit of a shut-in and does not have any sort of romantic interest. If something develops, it develops, and something I would want to keep in the background for the sake of focusing on the campaign.
