♪ Hi! I mainly go by Jay, but you can also call me Ollie and Lu!

♪ I'm mainly a proseka meta writer, but I also write regular fanfics! You can find me on ao3 as Jeiseny. @jeiseny on here is also my main account, only relating to my writing and/or au's, that is empty for the time being.

♪ my favourite character is An and I'm always down to talk about her. I can talk about An Shiraishi all day. Feel free to ask me about her/tag me in stuff at any time!

♪ my main group is vbs and I'm caught up with their events at the time of writing this, I also follow n25 closely and keep an eye out on wxs. I'm admittedly not as interested in other units.

♪ favourite characters aside from An: Kanade, Touya, Akito, Shiho, Saki, Ena and Mafuyu - I'm fairly invested into their stories as well~

♪ Other fandoms I've dipped my toe into: Ace Attorney, Pokemon (specifically gen3, gen5 and gen9), Cardfight!! Vanguard (the OG seasons 1-4), Genshin Impact, Stardew Valley, Horizon Zero Dawn + Forbidden West, Pandora Hearts. I'm not nearly as into them as I am in proseka, however.

♪ Classical music enjoyer. My favourite pieces are Sibelius Violin Concerto and Shostakovich Cello Sonata in D Minor. I've also once heard Requiebros by Caspar Cassadó live and that was legit a highlight of that entire performance, I can't recommend it enough if classical's your kinda thing.

“I swear, I’m going to smack him upside the head.” Rinku groaned softly as he stood up straight only to crack his back seconds later. “Stupid brother... he was supposed to be helping me with this!” He loved Link, of course he did, how could he not love his twin? But sometimes his urge to wander drove the slightly older male up the wall.

His ears twitched at the sound of footsteps and he whirled around to scold his twin only to falter.

Yes, his twin was standing there.

But beside him was someone he’d never seen in the valley before. They only reached up to about the twins’ chests, but despite that and their (dare he think it) child-like face, the way they carried themselves gave the impression they were older than they appeared. Soft blonde hair reached just a little past their shoulders and was held out of their face by a green headband.

A smile broke across their face and Rinku could swear their eyes flashed with several different colors as they held out a hand to him.

“You must be Rinku.” Their voice was soft but steady and held a masculine tone to it. He could listen to it all day, wait what-

“It’s nice to meet you, my name’s Link as well, but for the sake of simplicity, you can call me Four.”

I can tell you where I'm headed now, not just along for the ride

Voilà que depuis mai, mai !, je ne suis pas revenue ici. Pourtant j'ai vu et lu et même écouté des choses, mais je n'ai pas pris le temps nécessaire à archiver tout cela. J'ai laissé l'été m'envahir. Pendant les vacances, j'ai essayé (je dis essayé parce que j'ai plus ou moins échoué) de couper mes réseaux afin de retrouver une forme de paix intérieure. Paix intérieure qui est, bien évidemment, absolument impossible in this day and age. Tandis que j'essayais de mettre un autre "projet" sur pied pour faire suite à mon livre, je me sentais mal à force de me comparer aux autres et je ne vous apprends rien en disant qu'Instagram n'aide pas dans ces situations. Je me sentais mal de me dire que je pouvais sans soucis m'arrêter d'écrire pendant deux semaines, voire même plus, sans manque particulier et que j'aimais simplement jouer à Stardew Valley voire ne rien faire en toute décontraction. Une petite peur du vide en somme. Vous me direz qu'on a plein d'autres raison de se paniquer ces temps-ci et je vous dirai que vous avez bien raison.

Les vacances ont été l'occasion de voir moins de choses mais de regarder une énième fois la série de Tim Robinson I think you should leave qui me fait ricaner à chaque fois et d'autres œuvres hasardeuses comme un affreux remake de La momie avec Tom Cruise (ne tentez pas ça chez vous, cette cascade a été réalisée par des expert·es de la filmographie de Tom Cruise).

J'ai malgré tout lu à l'ombre du cerisier, écouté de la musique, repris le crochet et joué à Just Dance 2022. Voilà donc un petit round up culturel rapide de l'été. Personne ne l'a demandé mais je vais quand même le faire !

Riderless Horse - Nina Nastasia

Cela faisait plusieurs années que Nina Nastasia avait disparu et que j'attendais son retour avec une impatience fébrile. De temps en temps je faisais un tweet à 0 like sur "mais que devient-elle ?" Récemment, elle s'est ouverte sur cette absence en racontant sa relation difficile, voire violente, avec son conjoint et le suicide de ce dernier au lendemain de leur séparation. Elle le raconte aussi dans le disque qu'elle a sorti cet été. Elle y revient à son style très dépouillé, qui laisse toute la place à sa voix sublime et à sa grande intensité. Cette artiste est très liée à une période que je chéris de ma vie et ce disque, bien que sombre et très triste, m'a conquise. Je vous le conseille mille fois.

Au bout de son tunnel, il y a une lumière.

Anne de Green Gables de Lucy Maud Montgomery (éditions Monsieur Toussaint Louverture, traduit de l’anglais par Hélène Charrier)

Cet été je suis partie à Green Gables avec Anne Shirley, qui sera désormais l'une de mes héroïnes préférées au monde, quoi qu’il arrive. À l'heure où je vous parle, j'ai lu les quatre premiers tomes parus chez Monsieur Toussaint Louverture et ils sont tous merveilleux. Montgomery y raconte l'histoire somme toute assez simple d'une jeune orpheline qui est adoptée par un frère et une sœur et devient plus tard enseignante. Elle y capture avec une sensibilité et un humour très fin toutes les étapes qu'Anne traverse en devenant une adulte, en n’oubliant jamais la nostalgie des années qui passent. On s'attarde avec elle sur les moindres détails du quotidien, on observe le caractère de tous ces personnages qu'elle sait décrire avec tellement de vérité... À chaque fois que j'ouvre ce livre, je suis ailleurs. Pourtant Anne de Green Gables, et c'est ce qui fait sa force à mes yeux, n'est pas du tout un pur roman d'échappatoire. Anne traverse des difficultés, le monde autour d'elle n'est jamais parfait. Mais c'est son regard rêveur, déterminé, tendre qui rend tout ce qui l'entoure un peu plus beau.

Hacks Saison 2

J'avais été assez mitigée par la saison 1 de Hacks, qui raconte l'histoire d'une jeune autrice qui aide une ancienne gloire du stand up à écrire son nouveau spectacle. À peu près tout ce qui m'avait déçue dans la saison 1 a été rattrapé dans la 2, avec des relations bien plus poussées entre les héroïnes, des discussions passionnantes sur l’âgisme et le féminisme, sur la manière dont on peut rire de soi et se livrer, sur le milieu impitoyable, sur les privilèges, sur la famille... L'égoïsme des deux personnages est vraiment travaillé en profondeur avec, je trouve, un regard plus réaliste mais aussi plus tendre sur leurs défauts. Et puis quel bonheur de voir Jean Smart et Hannah Einbinder s'envoyer des vannes, vraiment mon ASMR.

Blackwater de Michael McDowell (éditions Monsieur Toussaint Louverture, traduit de l’anglais par Yoko Lacour et Hélène Charrier)

J'ai rejoint en cours de route le train de la hype pour lire Blackwater que j'ai plutôt aimé, bien que j'avais parfois l'impression que j'aurais préféré lire soit l'histoire fantastique soit l'histoire familiale. Je suis cependant toujours cliente pour une bonne saga familiale pleine de drames, de mariages, de couples de lesbiennes qui tiennent une ferme et de quelques autres mystères que je tairai ici et j'aime toujours être prise dans la frénésie de la lecture. C’est un de mes sentiments préférés d’avoir hâte d’être dans mon lit pour pouvoir me plonger dans un livre.

I Girasoli de Vittorio de Sica

Et puis pour se remonter le moral pour la rentrée, on a regardé un film de Vittorio De Sica. J'aurais dû me douter que je pleurerais, je me souviens encore du visionnage de Umberto D (magnifique film pour ma team chien et pour tous les gens qui ont un cœur). I girasoli raconte l'histoire d'une femme, Giovanna (Sophia Loren) qui cherche son mari Antonio (Marcello Mastroianni)[oui ce duo fait toujours des merveilles à l’écran], disparu en Russie pendant la guerre. Ils n’ont été mariés que douze jours avant qu’il s’en aille et pourtant elle ne recule devant rien pour le retrouver. Puisqu'il n'est pas dans la liste des morts, il est forcément vivant. Je ne spoilerai pas le film mais c'est une merveille sur la manière dont la guerre change profondément les hommes. De Sica nous raconte tout ce qu’elle pervertit, détruit, salit. L'amour, mais aussi les fleurs : il filme longuement un champ de tournesol, pour nous expliquer par la suite que chaque fleur représente un soldat enterré. L'amour n'y survit pas vraiment. Il ne reste que des rencontres déchirantes illuminées par la lueur trop rapide des éclairs. Allez-y le cœur bien accroché.

Ces temps-ci j’ai beaucoup réécouté Who do you love ? de Mojave 3 qui est dans ma liste des plus belles chansons au monde. Je pense que quiconque l’écoute en tombe amoureux·ses immédiatement. Si vous lisez jusqu’à là, vous me direz.

I've longed to start sharing my Stardew Valley AU, it's been living in my head for so very long. Skyloft Valley things;

Time is the local Guild leader, he’s only kind of grizzled since he undermines himself with his big ol crush on Malon

Malon runs the local ranch, Lon Lon, and is besties with the Mayor.

Lullaby is the mayor and lives in the Mayor’s house with her younger sister, Dusk. Dusk works part time at Malo Mart and is taking college classes online.

Ravio runs the local general store. He and Legend live together behind the shop. Legend is the local seamster. Legend and Ravio are friends with Fable, who lives in CastleTown. Legend knows Marin, who lives on Koholint.

Warriors is a recently returned War veteran who lives in one of the houses in town with Wind’s grandmother and sister, Aryll.

Four is the local blacksmith, he lives at the smithy with his grandfather. He is friends with the region magistrate, Dot. They exchange letters often.

Telma runs the local pub. She lives in an apartment behind the pub. Wild helps her out. He lives in a trailer close by.

Flora, the only teacher in town, lives with her father… who’s basically never around. She sometimes will work at the clinic to provide support to Aurora.

Sky runs the local carpentry shop. Sun lives with him and runs the hot springs slightly north of them. They’re horrifically lovey dovey and everyone both loves and hates it. They live in a house in the mountains. Groose lives in their basement and is a sort of mad engineer. Things routinely get blown up and everyone hears it across the Valley.

Aurora is the local small town doctor. She lives above the clinic. Her sister, Dawn, lives in the cabin in the woods and is studying the ecosystem.

Hyrule lives in a tent in the mountains for the most part. Sometimes he’ll crash in the hot springs or on someone’s couch if it’s particularly cold.

Artemis lives in a cabin on the beach. She’s also a recent war veteran. She’s there to find herself after the war.

Wind and Tetra own and operate the local bait shop and boat service. They routinely bug Artemis who pretends they annoy her and Warriors who meets them at their level far too often. Wind is usually in the bait shop and Tetra captains the boat. They’ll swap when they want to prank someone.

Shad runs the local museum. No one is sure where he lives (he has a living space in the museum). He’s very enthusiastic about artifacts.

Twilight is Malon’s nephew runs the old farm that’s down the road from her.

The Night Market, a three day long event where merchant friends of Tetra and Kaito from all over the Great Sea come to hawk their wares to the denizens of sleepy little Korok Town.

Shepherd finds himself excited and enamored by the prospect of a floating market after a conversation with Sunny and Skye.

23, Stardew Valley AU

Prompt 23

“You dumbass. Don’t do that. Ever again.” In Stardew Valley AU

Characters: Sun, Groose, & Sky

Word Count: 328

This one was a little more dialogue heavy actually. Woo!

Sunny stood with her hands on her hips, frown on her face, and concern in her eyes - ooooh, he’d really messed up.

All around them was the aftermath of his latest and greatest experiment’s explosive failure. Who knew that creating a robotic farm hand was so difficult? Groose, himself, was fine. Frustrated at yet another failure (number 47) and smudged with both oil and soot. Still he knew when to pick his battles and that’s why he usually picked bickering with Sky.

“Uhh… sorry?” He grinned at her apologetically.

She sighed. “You dumbass.” She pinched her nose, mumbled a prayer to Hylia. “Don’t do that. Ever again.” She leveled him with a look that he knew not to question nor push.

He saluted her. “Ma’am yes ma’am.”

What else could he do? Sunny and Sky are his best friends and they don’t ask much of him. He lives and works out of their basement and has plenty of space to blow stuff up… on accident. Wait he has permission for that.

“Sunnnnnn-eeeeeeeee,” he calls, “What am I not doing again?”

She’d already begun making her way back towards the path, the town, towards home. Sunny whirls around, incandescent in her rage at his misunderstanding. Or maybe in her concern?

“Stop disappearing for days on end. We’ve been worried sick that you left until I heard that go off.”

Oh. Oops?

Just then, he hears the crunch of leaves under rapid footsteps and Sky bursts through the treeline, stumbling on the undergrowth. He doubles over, breathing hard to catch his breath, and Groose feels suddenly worse.

Sunny just sweeps a hand in Sky’s direction, completely nonplussed. “See?”

“I’ll, I’ll do better?”

Sunny’s ‘see that you do’ is half lost under Sky’s cry as he flings himself at Groose. He finds himself being checked over and fussed at. He rests a hand in Sky’s fluffy hair, mussing it a little.

“Sorry for disappearing on ya, Sky Sky.” He mumbles.
