has anyone else playing da4 had an issue where the game runs fine graphically but freezes your inputs every so often? in CC and now just a few minutes into the prologue it like locks my controls from doing anything but the game is still running so i just walk off cliffs and get beat to death by enemies bc i can't do anything

I hate how much money is costs to play video games. I want to play baldurs gate 3. Pretty normal atm, I think. But I can’t play it on my laptop. Okay. I also can’t play it on the Xbox one my parents let me take after leaving for college. Fine. I also can’t afford a couple hundred dollar pc. Understandable. But then even if I had some ability to play it, I’d then have to pay $60 for the game itself. Amazing. I guess I get it. But man. What. Do I want to go into credit card debt? Maybe, if I could get approved for a credit card. Would that be smart? Idk. But that’s what people do to pay for the ability to have fun on a computer. I guess.

Anybody know some good singleplayer games for an absolute potato-grade PC? The way my classes are set up this semester, I have hours to kill between two, but not enough to leave the campus and go home, so I'm looking for some engaging, fun games that can run smoothly on my extremely slow and old laptop. Preferably, nothing that requires audio, since I'll be playing on mute. Just looking for some brain occupying little pixel games this old thing can handle.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I think I know why I got so into Eurodance and Dance-based music growing up, and it’s probably this single OST from Barbie Fashion Show that I constantly heard while playing the game.

turns out ultrakill actually runs perfectly well on linux through steam with proton so I am in fact able to play it on my laptop and my saves even sync too which is a relief!

anyway very slowly p-ranking my way through the prelude on lenient but I’m getting there

edit: finished p-ranking the prelude! wooo! expecting act 1 to be tricky though but hopefully I’ll manage

i was very much talking about the general thing i see on tumblr, not necessarily your case which just reminded me of it, but this game is a decade old and its not uncommon for mmos to update their graphics at some point? the new specs are incredibly low when held up against 99% of AAA games released in the past few years as well, odds are if the game runs well enough on your computers now, itll still work in a year.

Are the old graphics options going to be available? Im gonna be so mad if I Literally Cannot Play FFXIV ever again because people spent two years complaining about those goddamn grapes.

No, the base system requirements/recommendations are changing, they’ve talked about this a lot. The minimum specs are actually still pretty generous though, it’s still required to run on PS4 after all. And while I do understand the frustration if u still don’t meet the minimum specs, I promise it’s not just because of shit like the grapes lol. They’ve talked about literally needing to change intended story beats/shot composition as recently as Endwalker specifically because foliage quality looked distractingly bad during what were meant to be emotionally resonant scenes. The game absolutely could use a boost in fidelity if it’s meant to carry on for another 10 years. Sure there are a ton of people who don’t mind the visuals of the game now, I still think it can look quite nice in many areas and I think the strength of its story and overall art direction carry even the bad parts, but for years now they have been building off of a foundation that was notoriously compromised and rushed to ultimately save the game in the long run, and it shows. Texture quality in particular has been absolutely dire for way longer than it should have been. I’ve seen so many people distracted by how pixelated the Crystal Exarch looks near the end of Shadowbringers and it’s entirely understandable. I personally can’t help but notice how muddy hair and gear look when a cutscene decides to close-up on a character’s face, which is just not at all what should be running through my mind, but I can’t help it. I’m not a graphics SNOB but I do think that a games visuals really do matter, especially for an MMO like this where so much of its appeal is carried by your attachment to your character from a role playing and aesthetic perspective. Glamour is endgame after all, and that is ALL visual. This stuff is important to people, making it better is a net win.

The posts will have a description of each item with the specifications and a link to where you can find the computer for sale. None of these are going to be affiliate links, and I will not be linking to Amazon.

If you're wondering why I'm qualified to do this, it's because I am the entire procurement department for a small MSP and I've been buying anywhere between five and three hundred computers a week since 2011. This blog is an application of my professional expertise.

I don't know anything about gaming computers, I will not give advice on gaming computers.
