Eddie Munson, AFAB reader, "shy" reader, flashing, public setting
A/N: My first Eddie blurb, yay! I'm very rusty but I'm trying to get back into writing with some short blurbs so I'm starting off a little light before I dive back into full on filth and debauchery.
Thinking about...
Eddie and his girlfriend who's often too shy to initiate all the naughty things she wants to do with him.
That is until the sexual tension building inside you reaches an all time high one night when he's on stage performing - your own personal kryptonite.
It's almost too much for you to handle, staring longingly at his skilled fingers as they move deftly over the frets of his guitar, a light sheen of sweat making his neck gleam enticingly under the stage lights, shirt riding up so that his stomach and happy trail peek through.
You loved watching Eddie perform, seeing him shine and thrive in his element and look good doing it. Ripples of want had been coursing through you all night, turning into waves as the gig continued, morphing into a storm of desire swirling wildly inside you until you're finally able to cast your inhibitions aside and work up the nerve to do something you've been fantasizing about since watching him perform the very first time, since before he'd even asked you to be his girlfriend.
You flash him.
Hooking your thumbs underneath the hem of your top, pulling both it and the thin lace bra you'd been wearing underneath up over your breasts smoothly. For all the care and effort you'd put into picking out the pretty lingerie for when you'd be alone together with Eddie in his van after the show, you decided this would be a better way to surprise him in the end.
You're at the back of the bar, all eyes on Eddie and the band, everyone else too caught up in the music to notice the girl with her tits out, thankfully. But your boyfriend's eyes had kept returning to you all night while he was up there on stage so when he looks to you again after nailing his solo, searching for your pretty face and your sweet, shy smile in the crowd he gawps when instead he's met with the sight of your exposed breasts and the big proud grin plastered on your face. He's seen them before, sure; been rendered thoughtless at the sight your pebbled nipples and your soft breasts but this? in a room full of people too preoccupied to know any better? risk and thrill intertwining and all for him? it nearly does poor Eddie in.
It's long time fantasy of his come true, made even better because it was you who'd done it and now that it's actually happened, Eddie's so caught up in it that his fingers fumble over the guitar strings, jumbled notes and chords blaring out of the amp but the botched melody fails to catch his notice for he's still too busy staring at your tits.
Some of the audience members begin murmuring and tilting their heads in confusion at how the front man's lost his composure in the span of a couple of seconds and you decide you've had your fun, pulling your clothes back down in time for Eddie to snap out of his dazed stupor and finish the song the way it was meant to be played, all while his cheeks blazed bright red.
There's still a couple of songs left to be played in the set after that but instead, he announces that the band will be taking a quick break over the mic, hopping off stage and making his way over to you.
"Baby, I can't believe you did that", he exclaimed excitedly under his breath once he'd shuffled through the crown in record time, his hands set on your waist, smile impossibly wide, and eyes bright with a telltale glimmer.
"I've always wanted to do that", you confessed with hot cheeks, adrenaline still strong in your veins. "Ever since I first watched you on stage".
Eddie gives you a look, a mix of impress and adoration playing on his features.
"Who knew my sweet, shy girl had it in her?", he pulls you closer, close enough for you to feel that part of him press against your hip.
"Eddie..." , you flustered, quickly glancing around the crowded bar to make sure no one was watching the two of you.
It's obvious he's dying to slip his hands underneath your clothes and touch you and your body burns hot with the same need. He leans in, lips to your ear as he whispers, "How about we head to the van a little early? Y' can gimme a private show this time"

There are five books out this week that have piqued our interest. Which ones do you have your eye on?
The Descent of the Drowned by Ana Lal Din White Tigress Press
As the sacred slave of a goddess, Roma is of a lower caste that serves patrons to sustain the balance between gods and men. What she wants is her freedom, but deserters are hunted and hanged, and Roma only knows how to survive in her village where women are vessels without a voice. When her younger brother is condemned to the same wretched fate as hers, Roma must choose between silence and rebellion.
Leviathan is the bastard son of an immortal tyrant. Raised in a military city where everyone knows of his blood relation to the persecuted clans, Leviathan is considered casteless. Lowest of the low. Graduating as one of the deadliest soldiers, he executes in his father's name, displaying his worth. When he faces judgement from his mother's people-the clans-Leviathan must confront his demons and forge his own path, if he ever hopes to reclaim his soul.
But in the struggle to protect the people they love and rebuild their identities, Roma's and Leviathan's destinies interlock as the tyrant hunts an ancient treasure that will doom humankind should it come into his possession-a living treasure to which Roma and Leviathan are the ultimate key.
Set in a colonised Indo-Persian world and inspired by Pre-Islamic Arabian mythology, The Descent of the Drowned is a tale about power, identity, and redemption, and what it takes to hold on to one's humanity in the face of devastation. -- Cover image and summary via Goodreads

‘BLACKER’ A web series that aims to illuminate the contours of modern racism
BLACKER, a comedy web series created by Rhett Owen and Eric Lockley, is out now with episodes 1 & 2 streaming now on www.blackertheseries.com. ‘BLACKER’ follows Addison Lovingwood (played by both Lockley and Owen), an obnoxious white guy whose life is turned upside down following a run-in with a witch who casts a spell that causes strangers to see him as black.
‘BLACKER’ tackles white privilege and race in America in a way never done before – clearly through humor. LaughSpin recognized BLACKER as one of "7 indie web series that outperform their budgets" and wrote, "The series is a strong commentary on race while still showcasing a lot of slapstick and absurdist humor."
Cast for the series also include David Burtka, Alexis Kelley, Sandra Williams, Esther Chen, Sarah Grace Sanders, Rich Orlow, and Reid Prebenda. Recently, the show launched a crowdfunding campaign through Fractured Atlas in order to fund the filming and production for the rest of the season, which has been written. Owen (the Executive Producer) tapped in Liz Morgan to help with the writing process as well as cast her in an upcoming episode. Morgan is best known for her poem “Why I was Late Today and will Probably Always Be Late as as Black Woman” (Huffington Post). Her recent collaborations on episodic content include working with Emmy-nominated director, Dui Jarrod, as the story editor for BRIC TV’s digital drama, SAUCE (Seattle International Film Festival, Hip Hop Film Festival, UrbanWorld) She is also known for her writing and acting chops simultaneously on the web series Love in NY and Spicy Wit or her theatrical solo show, Deep $h*t. Her on screen credits also include byChance Boston and Ted 2 with Seth MacFarlane.
"The pandemic derailed our production of episode 3 earlier this year just as the incredible uprising for racial justice made BLACKER more relevant than ever. I've used the extra time to amp up the writing with a brilliant writer/actor, Liz Morgan, who came on board and has helped us take the project to another level, with bigger, faster, funnier, and even more cringe-inducing episodes moving forward. Now we have an hour's worth of content ready to shoot (four new 15-minute episodes), but we need the resources to make them, especially in light of the COVID protocols now required on set,” said Owen, the show's director, co-creator, executive producer, and writer.
BLACKER has seen numerous accolades, including first prize wins at the National Black Film Festival and the Philadelphia Independent Film Festival, as well as multiple other nominations and screenings at film festivals throughout the country.

Neighborhood, Watch! – Film Review: In The Heights ★★★★1/2
Sometimes a movie comes along and meets its moment, transcending its innate flaws to feel more important, more powerful that it may not have been perceived otherwise. In The Heights, the long-awaited film adaptation of Lin-Manuel Miranda’s pre-Hamilton Tony Award winner, initially had a Summer 2020 release date, but now lands at a time where we’ve suffered tremendous losses and have felt cooped up for over a year. Now, more than ever, we all need a burst of energy, an expression of elation, a reason to frolic in fire hydrant fountains and burst out in song. This film more than delivers on that feeling.
Directed by John M. Chu, who brought a similar effervescence to Crazy Rich Asians, and adapted by Quiara Alegría Hudes, the pair expertly blends the intimate with the outlandish, providing us with a joy machine of a musical, and one in which characters break out into song. I love when a musical is unafraid to be a musical. Full disclosure, I have not seen the stage production, so I judge this film on its own merits. I knew, however, that we were in good hands when the opening number includes a shot of our main character, Usnavi, using his foot to turn a manhole cover into a DJ’s turntable. Ok, movie, I see you. Let’s go!
Anthony Ramos plays Usnavi, a bodega owner in Washington Heights, showing the winning energy, and then some, he displayed in Hamilton and A Star Is Born. The origins of his name are worth a sweet, funny, and moving chuckle. Born in the Dominican Republic, Usnavi dreams of returning there one day for a simpler, more beautiful life. He sees the writing on the wall as his upper Manhattan neighborhood faces gentrification, the DACA children fearing deportation, and his culture getting reduced to stereotypes by a bigoted society.
Borrowing somewhat from West Side Story, the film takes a radically different approach to the immigrant experience. Instead of street gangs forming the backdrop for a story of star-crossed lovers, we get the workers, the strivers, and the talented surrounding a tale of two couples. Usnavi loves Vanessa (Melissa Barrera), who dreams of a career as a fashion designer while marking time in a neighborhood salon. Usnavi’s best friend Benny (Corey Hawkins) works as a dispatcher at Mr. Rosario’s (Jimmy Smits) small storefront car service and has fallen for Rosario’s daughter Nina (Leslie Grace) who has returned from Stanford University, traumatized by the discrimination she faced there. Although bookended by a framing device in which Usnavi tells the story to a group of children on a Dominican beach, the main plot traces the few days leading up to a citywide electrical blackout.
Such as it is, it’s a fairly threadbare plot. The focus here is on family, friendships, and the need for community. Although the opening title number serves to introduce us to the main cast, which also includes the charming Gregory Diaz IV as Usnavi’s cousin Sonny, a DACA kid, Daniela (Rent’s Daphne Rubin-Vega) the salon owner who craves more success by relocating her shop uptown to the Bronx, and the legendary Olga Merediz as Usnavi’s Abuela Claudia. Merediz originated the role on Broadway and stuns with her 11 o’clock number, “Paciencia Y Fe” (Patience And Faith). Miranda, who played Usnavi on the stage, appears here as the Piragua Guy, rolling his cart of shaved ice through the neighborhood and perhaps bumping into another Hamilton alum along the way. Stay for the post-credits sequence for more on that! Look also for a delightful cameo by Valentina of Ru Paul's Drag Race Fame in the big salon sequence. My biggest quibble is that with two competing love stories, the emphasis wobbled back and forth too much, taking away a little from Usnavi’s A storyline. Ramos has enough charisma and sparkle in his eye to carry the film, but a certain lopsidedness prevailed. Even the boldest number goes to our B storyline characters, but with no bum notes in the cast and in the numbers, it’s hard to complain too much.
While the dramatic scenes feel intimate and small, the film explodes with every musical production. Starting on the street, the show stopping “96,000” turns into a splashing, propulsive, Busby Berkeley-esque extravaganza with literally hundred of dancers and singers dreaming of what they’d do with that amount of money. Chu not only knows exactly where to put the camera in his numbers, he has thought through his shots, accentuating the percussive elements with each of Editor Myron Kerstein’s perfectly executed cuts. This film pulsates with energy from beginning to end. Cinematographer Alice Brooks and Production Designer Nelson Coates also add so much to the film by starting with realism via the actual streets of Manhattan and adding the magical during the musical moments. One shot in the film, as Vanessa runs through the streets as huge bolts of fabric unravel from the buildings above, brought me to tears. It serves as a profoundly gorgeous expression of creative desire. It’s easy to see how the seeds of hip hop and rap here led Miranda to his next sensation, but In The Heights has its own magic within the Hispanic music culture it celebrates.
Performances across the board ooze talent. Grace has such star quality and a pure, Disney-fied but lovely singing voice. Same goes for Barerra, while Ramos and Hawkins have enough power and dynamism to generate enough electricity to resolve the storyline’s big blackout. No doubt, Merediz will get Oscar attention, and deservedly so, but expect many more for this exceptional film.
Nothing, however, prepared me for “When The Sun Goes Down” in which Hawkins and Grace take part in a jaw-dropping homage to Fred Astaire’s Royal Wedding dance number, but amped up to 11. It’s gorgeous, impossible, and as pure and expression of movie magic as you can get. I found myself thrilled for the actors when they were able to finally watch the film, marveling at how this studio shot, green screen, gimbal-driven song would look once all of the effects work got filled in. It’s a stunner and served as one of several times I found myself crying for the sheer beauty of it.
Yes, the film contains some sad cries as well, but more than anything, I shed tears because I got to sit in a large theater with only a handful of people, and allowed a giant movie movie to dredge up all of those lonely, despairing feelings which have resided in my heart for over a year, and gave me somewhere to put those emotions. It also celebrates diversity and cultures we rarely get to see given such grand treatment. I can’t wait to watch this film again and again, reminding myself that joy will always win out over heartache.

This release was widely rejected by hip hop heads but to me it's really Kanye's best album up to then. This is mainly due to the fact that the factors that made his previous offerings rather annoying are missing here - no endless skits about how West dropped out of college, no Puff Daddy style productions that are completely based on obvious samples of old songs.

EDITORS’ NOTES
Kanye turns unbearable pain into haunted, stark electro-pop on this daring album, embracing electronic chill and ‘80s New Wave to express his suffering and isolation. His Auto-Tuned voice aches over sharp, icy piano and harsh Roland TR-808 drumbeats on “Love Lockdown” and turns aggressively wrathful as a buzzsaw synth propels “See You in My Nightmares.” Ye moves into stirring, art-pop melodrama on “RoboCop,” but his gut-wrenching vulnerability is clearest on the minimalist electro-pop of “Coldest Winter”—a frostbitten, Tears for Fears-sampling goodbye to his late mother.

If any year were fitting to reissue Prince’s pivotal record Sign o’ the Times, it’d be 2020, a year marked by a pandemic, protests for racial justice, the rapidly developing climate crisis, and a consequential election in the U.S. But the Prince Estate didn’t plan any of this, of course. “Sign o’ the Times was the one that organically raised its hand because of the sheer amount of love that it has, first of all, and second of all, the volume of ancillary material that we thought would be able to support it in a meaningful way,” says Michael Howe, Prince’s archivist who worked on assembling the reissue. “The serendipitous element of it is that we’re living in such a volatile time at the moment, such an unpredictable time, that the issues Prince was exploring on the album seem to be just as relevant today.”
It’s a fitting testament to Prince’s continued relevance as a musician over four years after his death. So is the fact that the reissue of Sign o’ the Times, out September 25, features a bounty of new material, the most for a Prince reissue yet. The superdeluxe edition includes 45 never-released tracks, along with two full live performances (from Utrecht, Netherlands, and Paisley Park, the latter including a guest appearance by trumpeter Miles Davis). It’s only two-thirds of the material they considered, says Howe, adding that he still makes weekly discoveries in Prince’s mythical vault. One of his favorite songs on the reissue is a 1979 cut of “I Could Never Take the Place of Your Man.” “Nobody knew it existed,” he says. “It’s kind of astonishing to think that he had that song in his pocket the entire time and decided to wait and reimagine it for inclusion on Sign o’ the Times.” As for the release as a whole, Howe only wants it to strengthen the intentions that were already in Prince’s music. “I hope it brings people joy and that it has the same kind of emotional resonance that I think Prince viewed as most important in his art,” he says. “And the other thing I hope is that people see how wildly creative the guy was and how he was able to do pretty much anything he wanted to.”
The superdeluxe edition also includes a book with a stacked cast of liner notes, including Dave Chappelle, Lenny Kravitz, Prince’s engineer Susan Rogers, Prince | Official Podcast host Andrea Swensson, and author Duane Tudahl. For Chappelle’s contribution, the comedian reflects on his friendship with Prince along with the social relevance of Sign o’ the Times. Read an exclusive excerpt from Chappelle’s liner notes below, in conversation with photographer Mathieu Bitton.
***
Do you remember where you were when you first heard Sign o’ the Times? It was a spring day in 1987. I was listening to Casey Kasem on a local Dayton, Ohio, radio station. I remember being struck by the way Kasem introduced the song. He actually read the lyrics before he played the record. That really impressed me. When would you ever hear a DJ read lyrics on a Top 40 countdown? The words were profound.
In France, a skinny man died of a big disease with a little name By chance his girlfriend came across a needle and soon she did the same At home there are 17-year-old boys and their idea of fun Is being in a gang called the Disciples High on crack and totin’ a machine gun
I didn’t realize it at the time, but in hindsight, he was singing about what would be the two definitive crises of my generation: crack and AIDS. Our story was being told in hip-hop [Hip-Hop], but as a genre, it was still in its infancy. Prince was the first mainstream artist to wax poetic and tell our community’s story, establishing himself as one of the preeminent lyricists for my generation.
He literally was a sign of the times.
I found a radio interview recording on YouTube where Prince was asked about your skit, and this is what he said: “I loved it, loved it! That’s a true story, by the way,” to which the DJ asked, “So you got game?” He responded, “Oh definitely! And he [Murphy] don’t! And 2 be honest, it ain’t that I’m that great, he’s just so bad.” He continued: “U know what was cool 2 was Dave came to one of my shows after, and he’s going, ‘Hey, did you see the skit?’ and I say, ‘Yeah, yeah, come over and sit down.’ And we’re just sitting, chillin’, we’ve been there for like 2-3 hours or whatever, and then out of nowhere I said, ‘Dave, want some pancakes?’”
[Laughter]
When I left Chappelle’s Show, not only was Prince the only person I could relate to, he was one of the few people who truly cared about what was happening in my life.
There’s a thing I say that “the last sane man on earth is going to think he’s crazy.” He was the only one I knew who had already done it. In the loneliest corners of that experience, there was always a sign, like “Brooks was here,” that he had been there and lived to tell about it.
The mere sight of Prince reminded me that I’m not the last sane man on earth, and I’m not crazy.
He was the first person I knew who didn’t question my choices. In fact, he didn’t even ask me about them. He just told me, “Whatever it is, you’re right.”
He helped me understand that it might not be over and that there might be another side to it … and whether or not there is or isn’t, at least you’re free. Or, as he would say, “U gotta B free.”

My Favourite Shows of 2017
Happy New Year! It’s time again for my list of favourite shows of the year. Here’s to another year of good anime. Thank you for following and I hope you are enjoying the good anime we had this year. I present the list, in no particular order.
ACCA: 13-ku Kansatsu-ka
Political intrigue, double crossing, and a secret coup. This show was excellent at world building and making the world seem like a real and interesting place. It’s rare to find a nicely wrapped up show in one cour especially when there were so many different plot lines going on with the characters.
Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu: Sukeroku Futatabi-hen
Continuing off a few years after the first season ended we get to hear the rest of the story. Focusing more on Konatsu and Yotaro, we see the story of Yakumo taking on an apprentice and trying to keep rakugo alive. The second season was a roller coaster of emotions and had some of the most beautiful scenes.
Little Witch Academia
Trigger back to save anime again! This time making a series out of an OVA. This show is charming and adorable. Akko is a genki girl with so much spunk and the supporting cast is just as awesome. In typical Trigger fashion the show amps up the stakes in the final arc and we get a grand finale that is both wonderful and sweet. The animation is great as expected in a Trigger production, and the various little Easter Eggs always make me smile.
Kobayashi-san Chi no Maid Dragon / Miss Kobayashi’s Maid Dragon
An otherworldly creature takes up residence in a office worker’s home and decides to live with her. Hi-jinx ensue. This show is full of warm fuzzies and Kana is the cutest. Plenty of jokes to be had here and the animation is very smooth, as expected of Kyo Ani.
Re:Creators
Take the isekai trope and reverse it, that’s what you get with Re:Creators. Fictional protagonists get transported to the real world.Add a dash of Sawano and you have an entertaining series with quite a few twists and turns. I enjoyed that they pulled in different types of protagonists from different genres of shows as well. A mech pilot, a chivalrous knight, a magical girl, and a mage to name a few. I was thoroughly amused by this series and it was good fun. The antagonist was a little too much for me at times with their over powered abilities. But just a minor annoyance in an otherwise great show.
Uchouten Kazoku 2 / The Eccentric Family 2
The long awaited sequel to a show I never thought would get a sequel, but I am so glad that it did. Rejoining the antics of Shimagomo family we get introduced to a few new characters. I love the colours in this show and how vibrant everything looks. Yasaburo is also a babe <3.
Made in Abyss
Wow, this show took me by surprise having heard virtually nothing about it before watching the first episode. The world building is fantastic, and the character designs are so unique. The creatures living in the abyss are also terrifying. Also the soundtrack is PHENOMENAL and inspired. Do yourself a favour and watch this show. The suffering depicted throughout their journey into the abyss was pretty gut-wrenching as well.
Mahoujin Guru Guru
Where do I even begin with this show. I think it was one of the most consistently funny shows that I watched this year. Every episode has me laughing out loud at one joke or another. The gags don’t get stale even when re-used. Kukuri is so precious and her smile must be protected. The animation is really smooth and consistent and they occasionally use 16 bit animation. It actually feels like I’m watching an RPG, they even have status bars that show up throughout the show that sometimes show their levels. It’s really quite hilarious.
Princess Principal
Female spies in an alternate universe steampunk-London. If you can handle a non-linear story progression then you should take a look at this show. The soundtrack is done by one of my favourites, Yuki Kajiura. The episodic nature of the show allows some of the side characters to really shine and I actually like a side character as my favourite character because of their backstory. It’s rare that an original show like this manages to be so captivating so early on in it’s run.The artwork and character designs are nice and Victorian England makes for an exciting setting for spies.
Garo Vanishing Line
I know this show is 2 cour and will spill into 2018, but the first cour was excellent and warrants it’s inclusion on my list of faves. I really am getting into the Garo franchise and Mappa is doing an incredible job of showing their strengths with this franchise. It’s got plenty of action and an interesting plot line. The first cour was mostly episodic in nature, introducing the characters of the series and now the second cour I think will delve into more lengthy story arcs. But so far it has me entertained.
Houseki no Kuni / Land of the Lustrous
OMG this SHOW!!! I think I can say that it is my number 1 favourite show of 2017. Everything about it is so stunning and gorgeous. The choice of using CG has some people divided, but I love it. I’ve been a fan of CG shows since Knights of Sidonia and Ajin, and Houseki no Kuni demonstrates the epitome of awesome things you can do with CG. The camerawork is stunning for fight scenes and you can do things that you’d never see in 2D animation. I think CG is the perfect format for a show like this. The colours are gorgeous and the characters are so endearing and full of life. The show’s universe is mysterious and I desperately want a season 2. I could literally talk about how much I love this show for hours, but I’ll just tell you that you have to watch it. It’s criminally under-watched in my opinion. Story wise, you have these genderless gemstone characters who fight against the Lunarians who are trying to kidnap them, break them into fragments and use them as weapons to capture the remaining gemstone characters. There is also an air of mystery going on and you barely scratch the surface of the truth behind this universe. I love this show it’s a masterpiece of art.
Inuyashiki
Well this show was a pleasant surprise. Not only does it have a complete adaptation, but it’s a pretty badass show. So this old man and teenager get turned into super powered robots. Then you see how different they react with their new found powers. They mix a little CG in when they use their robot powers. It’s a bit clunky at times but the story is compelling enough to make me not notice it. Also the OP is sung by Man With A Mission, one of my favourite Japanese groups so that’s a bonus.
Kekkai Sensen & Beyond / Blood Blockade Battlefront & Beyond
I didn’t think it was possible to top the first season of Kekkai Sensen because it was so cool. But this second season is WAY better. Now you have to be a fan of the episodic format as each episode is pretty much standalone except two two-part arcs. We get a lot more time with side characters and learn more about the background of my favourite character, Chain. <3 <3 Also Steven (total DILF) gets a lot more screen time which is great. It has the same humour and upbeat zany atmosphere as the first season but it really feels more like a labour of love where the characters are given time to shine. And the characters are the strong point of this show. The OST is also really great as it mixes jazz, RnB, rap, hip hop style songs as it’s supposed to be a take on New York. It also has some amazing sakuga scenes because it’s got the BONES people working their magic.
Shoujo Shuumatsu Ryokou / Girls’ Last Tour
This show really surprised me. It was so comfy, yet melancholy. Two girls are just travelling around in a tank in what appears to be a post-nuclear/apocalyptic Earth. The background and atmosphere is really great, it reminds me of Blame or the city of Sidonia with layered city structures and industrial almost steampunk type environment. It’s kind of a lonely show with just snippits of their lives together roaming the wasteland. The OST is glorious and relaxing though. I’d say it’s kind of like a slice of life except not heavy handed with the jokes. You really feel that they are the last few remaining people on Earth. The voice actors also have excellent chemistry as it’s just those two girls talking to each other essentially the entire episode, yet the show remains engaging.

<== A Rebel’s Yell ==>
Smoke clung to the thick cabaret air, it’s warm waves brushing past the fans, and over the rather rowdy crowd that sat, packed like sardines all in a line. The stage had been empty for quite some time. No one had been penciled in quite just yet as the masses stepped through the doors more and more.
Behind the curtains stood a rather fidgety group people, a rather odd looking hyur and four of own companions, each with an instrument of their own. Belladonna had a hand covering her bandages as she visibly shuddered. The rest of her friends gave one another a rather cheery looking sneer before patting the small woman on her shoulder.
“You five, you’re up. One of the first of the night, don’t let us down.” A voice from the back called. The four others gave a nod before shifting onto the stage, a round of applause filled the air as an announcer’s voice quelled the masses.
“Ladies and Gentlemen, If you thought that last performance was spectacular... You haven’t seen anything yet! We’ve got another special start for you all tonight! From the Isles of Thavnair, give it up for Silver Oracle!”
The thunder from a bass drum rumbled out from the stage as the thrum and wail of bass and guitars followed through. The small hyur’s heart was going to burst from nervousness as one of the stagehands gave her a pat on the shoulder. “C’mon, girlie. Get up on there.Impress us! Eha!”
With a small stumble and yelp, Belladonna forced pep into her step as she hopped up the stairs to take center, grabbing the mic and it’s stand, holding it firm. The feel of cold polished metal along her fingertips.
A hush fell over the packed showroom, nothing more than whispers and chuckles amidst the darkened faces. There was a sinking in her chest as she glanced to her friends. They wore the face of glee and pride, aged like fine wine before the drummer rose their sticks into the air.
One... Two... One, Two, Three, Four!
[Song/Link]
The wail of guitars and tambourine filled the air in unison as the wind-up to their favorite song began to play. Bell seemed to startle, her fingers gripping tight the metal stand as her boots stomped the stage in rhythm, as if on pure instinct. Beads of sweat trickled down her brow as her one eye cast itself out to the face crowd before meekly shutting tight.
There was a shaking breath as the strumming of guitars followed up, easily giving way to what was to come. Her voice despite the nervousness came out through her shudders smooth as silk. Her tone nothing but a rowdy hound waiting to rile itself up.

Tightly did she grip the mic stand as she pulled it close to her body, choosing to lean on it as one of her boots planted themselves at the base. Her eye was shut as her head rocked with the waves of the rock that blasted behind her. Her ponytail seemed frazzled as her spine’s spikes themselves stuck out fully, showing off her rather.. unique feature.
The hyur’s heart thumped along with the bass beating down her throat as she was losing all sense of where she was aside from in a spot where she could sing loud and proud, unleashed one could say. The hyur bobbed her head over and over as her hips rocked and rolled as she parted her lips, flashing a rather devilish grin.

By now Belladonna was bouncing on one leg as she slid the other along the stand, her eye flashing over to show off her amethyst hues. A glint of the devil’s smile in her eyes as she sang out. Her voice coming in waves as the music tuned everything in her senses up past an eleven. Every word was laced with a daunting touch of musical lust as she had herself lost in the music, lost in the old days.. but she didn’t mind.
The crowd itself was amping itself higher and higher as hands were thrown into the air, waving and bouncing on-pace with the Bella’s own hand that stretched out toward the faceless crowd. The room itself was visibly shuddering from the thunderous rancor that the band played to their fullest. Could it have been the drinking? Could it have just been the smoke.. who could say?
♪ “He lives among his own heaven

The hyur bounded herself backward, practically kicking down the stand as she held the mic in her hand, dragging it along the wooden stage with a sneer. As she stepped back the lights dimmed ever so slightly to focus on the drummer and four-string bass as they played through their solos.
Belladonna and the others had their hands into the air, clapping every other beat to match the bass drum that thumped and rattled their hearts deep down. The small mutant of a hyur slid on one knee back to the front of the stage, leading most of the room in the groove. Every hint of fear and nervousness that she ever seemed to hold felt like nothing to her as she kept herself in the zone.
Swiping the mic stand down, she liberated the microphone from its place, taking hold of several ilms of the wire into her hand as she lowered her voice, purring out her next verse.
♪”I walked the world with you, Babe

Her eye fixated on some random damsel in the audience, giving them a wink. Belladonna brought the mic-stand back in-front of her. The smile never seeming to lose itself on her face, the same devilish glint never leaving as she stood back at full height.
♪“I’d give you all, and have none, babe --” ♪
Bella threw her head back at every word as she would thrust the microphone forward, clasping it back into place on the stand while pulling it close over and over as the musical high kept ebbing at her.

The hyur lurched herself forward, slamming the base of her stand onto the stage. The entire band leaned back as they hit their highest of notes, the room thunderous in their hollars and cheers. Belladonna slid on her heel backwards to kick the air before her before stomping the wood beneath her as her voice, hoarse and rowdy sang out her last chorus.
The guitars and drums could practically be burning in order to match the ferocity that the band had in every note as they backed their little leader in vocals, howling up to the lights and audience as if they were the moon for the wolves on a moonlit Gridanian night.

The last of the guitar notes strummed out as the the drum’s cymbals clashed one last time. The song finding it’s highnot ending seemingly all too quickly. The hyur hung a hand on the stand before pulling it back to her face, covering her one good eye as it closed. A trace of velvet tongue slipped on her lips to lick away the trickling sweat with a giggle.

Did you know that Cardi B auditioned for a role on Lee Daniels’ new series, STAR? Apparently, he was enamored with the then-social media sensation when they first met that he asked to take a selfie video that he uploaded to his Instagram account.

TASKS FOR 103 TO GO INTO WORKBOOK
Task 1
What is a zine ?
Zine short for fanzine
It’s a creative platform kind of like a blog
Definition from wiki : self-published work of original or appropriated texts and images, usually reproduced via a copy machine. Zines are the product of either a single person or of a very small group, and are popularly photocopied into physical prints for circulation
How does it differ ?
What’s the history of zines ?
Look at 3 examples of zines
3 examples of zines
1. ILLUMINATI GIRL GANG -about feminism started with a tumblr blog addresses online debates surrounding women in the art world.
https://www.peopleofprint.com/collective/illuminati-girl-gang/
https://www.polyesterzine.com
2. Polyester zine - a print magazine by ione gamble
3. Based in New Jersey and made "by teens, for teens," Crybaby is only a year old, but has already gained a cult following, each issue selling out almost as soon as it's released. This zine is all about growing up, and its contributors have no issue getting into the nitty gritty of adolescence — experimenting with your style included. GEN Z zine
4. Hate zine - explore politics and social justice through art, photography, writing, poetry and music. In print and online. Representing people from different backgrounds; female voices are important; giving young artists and writers a means to publish their work; articles that touch upon the shit that's going on; and not presenting real issues in an ignorant, glossy way," she said. All these zines combine visuals, fashion, and social justice in a way that mainstream media often seems to struggle executing. Not only will you be able to learn about current issues alongside underground trends, as well as discover new creative talent both in the beauty industry and outside it, but by supporting these independent zines, you'll know that you're money is going to those who can use it to further the causes you care about most.

RDR Music Rotation Adds - 04/14/20
Due to COVID-19, all regular DJ slots at Rainy Dawg Radio have been either cancelled or moved to the blog in text form. Without broadcasting restrictions, our DJs are no longer required to make selections from the Music Rotation, so the weekly additions have been repurposed into a blog series. All adds written by the Music Director.
FULL-LENGTH
Midwife - Forever (shoegaze, heaven metal, slowcore)
Madeline Johnston makes self-described “heaven metal.” Forever takes the distortion, darkness and anger of metal and smoothes its edges, morphing it into something atmospheric and soothing, with angst bubbling just beneath the surface. Warm washes of sound wrap Johnston’s distant voice in a blanket of fuzz, interspersed with spacey synth passages.
Bladee - Exeter (cloud rap, art pop)
Exeter is a short and VERY sweet little mixtape. The production is the sonic equivalent of candy: colorful, bite-sized, and sends the listener into a sugar rush with bouncy, bubbly beats, swirling textures and shimmery blips. Bladee’s delivery is reserved and impressionistic, sometimes coming across as sounds and melodies more so than phrases.
The Strokes - The New Abnormal (indie rock, synthpop)
The Strokes return with their trademark laid back slacker-rock, this time with synths and a bright 80s sheen. Twangy modulated guitars, thick analog synths and the occasional minimal drum machine introduce a little more variety to their sonic palette. Strokes gone synthpop!
Soar - Soft Dial Tone (indie rock)
Swift, melodic basslines, soft, melancholic guitar chords and just a touch of feedbacking amps ebb and flow and build and crash while Shannon, Mai, Jenna and Rebecca’s voices dance around one another in intricate harmonies. Fragile, familiar AND intimate friendship rock.
Serengeti - Ajai (hip-hop)
A heady yet laid-back lo-fi arty rap album. Serengeti raps over a live band with jumpy piano melodies, trippy synths and endearingly imperfect yet irresistibly groovy live drums. His delivery hops between narrative pseudo-prose word salads and more rhythmic and melodic choruses.
SINGLE/EP
Charli XCX - Forever (PC music)
A simultaneously grandiose and intimate little love song. An army of synthesizers form a huge uplifting wall of sound, pushing itself into noisy clipping. Charli’s anthemic autotuned vocals rise up from beneath, both in her feelings and soaring through the air.
LOCAL
Iji - S/T (indie pop)
Iji is Zach Burba and a rotating cast of collaborators, this time including members of Big Thief and Frankie Cosmos! Cozy and friendly goof-pop driven by wonky synths and slightly off-kilter melodies and tones. Kaleidoscopic rainbow pop goodness.
Florida Man - Post/Violence (grindcore, hardcore, noise)
Noisy, abrasive and confrontational metal built on dissonant riffs and grotesque guttural screams. Abrupt starts and stops make for quick shifts of momentum, while vulgar and uncomfortable samples and field recordings provide comparatively calm but still disconcerting breathers throughout.
Clothing Optional - Melancholy Man (indie rock)
Wide, slow, and appropriately melancholy guitar chords ring out while spacey blips scatter across the stereo field. Suddenly, distortion kicks in and the band shifts into a soaring, anthemic chorus before wrapping it up with a wash of cymbals.
