Always worth pointing out the whole political mindset for Fredric Werham -- he did provide testimony for Brown vs. Board of Education. He himself is not responsible for the rejection of a reprinting of the story "Judgement Day", which in season 7 Riverdale is alluded to with an adaptation of WEB Du Bois taking its place. (Amusingly, I referenced the EC story here). The irony for Riverdale -- John Goldwater was the president of the Association running the Code. No stand in character for him in the show. Could view it as part of the meta-narrative within the theme in repairing the past -- alongside Betty and Veronica's rejection of Kevin Keller's musical number for them and alongside Miss Grundy's rejection of Archie's entreaty to her (and bombing at the open mic at The Dark Room).

Yeah, countless homages to the cover have been done. Give points to the Disney Ducks for "waddling", though.

Harvey Comics checked out of the horror business but continued publishing stories with witches, devils, ghosts, and girls with massive obsessive compulsive disorders. The strange dynamic for this altered story is its reprint history over the decades -- and in places it just does not make sense to hedge to the altered version -- gives the bastardized not at all sensical story you end up having.

Nel frattempo, un parassita alieno si schianta sulla Terra nascosto in una meteora.
