it's so funny to me that the whole yj fandom looked at jackie for a split second and was like.... that's a lesbian right there. like the supernatural elements, the cannibalism, the murders, and the unhinged behaviours no one bats an eye at. but straight jackie, be so fucking for real

I just feel you - part IV
Shin walks back to the ship without emotion. She holds her head straight, ignoring the bodies littered around the village, ignoring Ahsoka gathering the Noti nomads, and ignoring Sabine following her. “Shin!” Sabine yells out, about 10 feet behind her. She stops, slowly turning to meet the girls’ brown eyes. She tilts her head slightly, holding her gaze. “Leave me alone.” Shin’s voice is monotone. A pained expression crosses Sabine’s face, and she opens her mouth to say something before Shin turns away and continues towards the ship. Sabine still follows.
Once inside the ship, Shin makes her way to the “medical” room—it was just a closet with a bed and medical supplies—she had slept in the night before. She would call it “her room” until she could be given a proper one. She enters, feeling the presence of Sabine in there with her. She lets out a low growl and turns quickly, an icy glare on her face. “Shin,” Sabine says quietly. Shin raises her hand, pushing Sabine out of the room with such force she hears the girl yelp. In the same force-push, she closes the door with an equal amount of violence.
She falls to the floor, holding her knees against her chest. “Why’d you have to leave me?” She closes her eyes, envisioning Baylan. She thinks about their past and how much they achieved together. Memories flood her broken mind, and somewhere between her reminiscences, she falls asleep.
Sabine is thrown to the floor outside the “medical” room. She sits up, gasping for air. She looks up at the door closing with such betrayal in her expression. What is wrong with you? She thinks, not knowing if she asked herself or meant it for Shin. It had been a confusing past couple of days, but Sabine thought she had gotten somewhere with Shin; she thought they had something. Taken away from her thoughts, Ahsoka enters with a stern look about her, and motions for Sabine to follow her.
“I don’t know.” Sabine says, not even needing a word from Ahsoka. They both sigh. “I have been allowing this girl to stay with us out of good heart,” Ahsoka says, “and because I see—and feel—the connection between you two. I believe there is good in her, but I’m not so sure she’ll stick with it out here.” Sabine can tell Ahsoka is pained to say it, but she also feels a slight truth to it. “She is here in the first place because she was hired to kill us.” Ahsoka adds.
“She had an order. She had a master. She had a clan. She has lost it all. She’s alone. She’s broken. I won’t give up on her.” Sabine says. “That isn’t it, is it, Sabine?” Ahsoka asks. Sabine drops her gaze, letting her mind wander.
She had found Shin by reasons she couldn’t begin to understand. She feels such a strong force between her and Shin, as if she must be always close to her. It gnaws away at Sabine to be the only one to feel it. She feels unbalanced; as if she has too much of the force in her. As if it needs to burst out of her at any moment. As if it is eager to be within reach of Shin.
“I can’t describe it, Ahsoka. I feel pulled to her. I feel the force so violently when I am away from her. It eats at me. The thought of her not feeling it also eats at me. She said she could feel my power, but I don’t think she feels what I feel.” Sabine crosses her arms, still looking down. Her gaze feels far. “About the force.” Sabine says quickly, meeting her Master’s gaze again. “I think you need to meditate and make contact with the force. You need to balance; find yourself within it. Maybe it isn’t Shin, but it’s you.” Ahsoka gives her apprentice a warm smile and relaxed nod. Sabine nods stiffly, taking leave for her room.
When she reaches her room, she sits cross-legged on the ground, back against her bed. She closes her eyes and steadies her breath. “How do I do this?” She asks herself. She searches through the darkness until she finds that familiar, overwhelming feeling. Hesitating, she lets it overcome her. Instead of giving in, however, she holds onto it. She lets it surge through her mind and soul until she finds something different. Another mind, it seems, as she sees memories that aren’t her own. She sees the face of Baylan and immediately opens her eyes, cutting off any connection she may have had. Her breath is quick, but the surging feeling of the force has left her, which allows her to slow her breathing pattern and calm down. She stands up and falls onto her bed with a long sigh.
Shin awakes with the sound of Baylan’s voice echoing through the room. She stands up abruptly, searching in the dark for her master. She sits back onto the bed when she realizes he is not there but was just a remnant of her dreams. She sighs and buries her face in her hands. Shin realizes she is still wearing the clothes she wore in battle, which brings a disheartening weight to her shoulders. She stands, blinks a couple of times, and starts towards wherever she can find a shower.
“Miss Hati.” Shin almost jumps out of her skin at the sudden voice. Huyang is standing around, eyes glowing through the darkness. “Droid,” Shin says, shaking her head slightly. “It is Huyang, Miss Hati. Are you alright? How is your wound?” Shin almost forgot about her abdominal wound, but at the mention of it she feels a dull pain around it. She has also become aware of the pain in her arms and hands, most likely from her lashing out earlier. She looks down to her hands, still bloodied, and opens and closes them slowly. “Where can I shower?”
Sabine is restless after battle, so she decides to leave the ship and start cleaning up the bodies. It is dark out, however, so she lights a fire in the center of the village. She pulls a mask over her face and wears gloves to get to moving bodies. One by one, she adds them to the bonfire. Through her mask she can smell the insidious smell of burning flesh, which causes her to have to bend over and take breaks every now and then.
She had only gotten though half of the bodies before she worked herself too much. She sat by the fire alone for a few minutes, finding peace in the flames. After staring into the flames and fiddling with one of the raiders’ knives for a while, she decides she is ready to get cleaned up.
In her room, she removes her clothes slowly, sore from the days’ activities. She winces as she raises her shirt above her head, noticing bruises on her shoulders. She looks down at the pile of bloodied and sweat-stained clothes. “I should add these to the fire.” She scoffs but doesn’t commit. She wraps herself in a towel and makes her way to the shower.
Sabine opens the door, but as soon as she sees light shine through, she slams the door closed again. Her eyes are wide and she’s holding her breath. “I didn’t see anything! I’m sorry!” Sabine whispers harshly. No response for a few seconds. She goes to turn around and head back to her room, cringing at herself, but the door to the bathroom is opened slowly.
They meet eyes, and Sabine hopes the blonde can’t see how red her cheeks are.

I just feel you - part III
*this chapter is kind of Shin-centric and mainly focuses on her
The atmosphere in the village of Noti nomads is still, almost too still. Upon first glance, one might think that the village was abandoned; no nomads to be seen, no fires, no noise. Just Ahsoka, Sabine, and Shin stand in the center of the collection of pods. A gust of silent wind blows past them, bringing an uneasiness to the scene. Shin, who has her lightsaber ignited and ready to attack at any second, watches with wide eyes. Sabine stands beside her, planting her feet. Ahsoka readies her blades, having them stretched out at her sides.
The day is coming to an end, sending a blanket of pink and orange hues into the sky. A deep shadow is starting to warp the area. Soon enough, the women would have to rely on their sabers for light.
In the forest behind the village, the sound of a snapped branch catches the attention of the three saber-wielders. Ahsoka is the first to spin on her feet to try to catch a glimpse of the culprit, but it is Sabine who blasts a deadly ball of plasma into the raiders’ chest. As the downed raider hits the ground, a dozen more emerges from the thick shroud of trees.
The raiding party consists of the beasts in orange and red, wearing eerily constructed helmets and wielding makeshift weapons. A few of them are mounted on Howlers, which brings a frown to Shin’s face. A single raider leads the party, and on its head is a helmet with horns that eject from either side of its head. It is an uneasy presentation which would normally project fear into its combatants. These three, however, do not show any fear, if they feel it.
Shin’s gaze pierces like ice into the raider at the front-line. Sabine can sense anger rising in the girl next to her, which inflicts an uncertainty into Sabine. She shakes her head slightly, keeping her eyes on the enemy. Ahsoka keeps her trained position, neglecting emotion. The leader of the raiders slowly rotates its head, taking in the environment. When its gaze meets with Shin’s, it raises a blade slowly, causing the rest of the party to do the same. With a single roaring battle cry, the group of enemies takes off towards the three heroes.
Shin growls through clenched teeth as she comes face-to-face with the horned raider. She pulls her lightsaber behind her head, lighting her expression up with an orange glow, and two-handedly slams her lightsaber into the beast. She lets out an angry cry as she brings her saber back up from the collision with the blade of the beast. The raider leader growls lowly, pushing his opponent with a strong shove. Shin is pushed backwards but keeps her balance. Saber in one hand, she whirls around, using her momentum to her advantage as she lands a heavy blow into the raider. He is able to block the attack, but with his abdomen vulnerable, Shin uses her force to grab the air out of the beast. He is thrown to the ground, gasping for air. Shin stumbles forward, falling to her knees atop the creature.
Sabine is surrounded; she glances over to Ahsoka, who is busy with a few raiders, and to Shin, who is facing the leader. She shrugs and holds her saber into an offensive position. A raider runs towards her, axe held high above its head. Another comes from a different angle, charging her with a spear. Sabine pulls her saber up and slices the arms clean off the axe-wielder and turns to force her saber into the stomach of the charger. Two more come her way, but she gives them quick deaths.
Shin kneels over the raider, fury forcing her eyes to burn into the beast. It is in her fury where she is distracted, not sensing the closed fist of the beast coming up beside her. With a fist, hed slams a punch into Shin’s jaw, her hands immediately grabbing the spot. With the beasts’ other hand, he grabs the other side of her head with an open hand, pushing her off him. She rolls a few times but manages to get back to her feet. The beast follows, raising his fists into a battle stance. She wipes the blood from her mouth, giving the raider leader a crazed smirk. Shin is very good at hand-to-hand combat.
“I will kill you.” Shin glares so deeply at the beast he believes she could be mad. His reply is a quick huff.
The raider, almost two times her size, charges forward, forcing a fist towards Shin’s face. She nimbly moves out of the way, using the back of her hand to push the fist away. She spins around, bringing her leg up to kick into his side. He stumbles, spinning to meet her. He winds up another punch attack, but when he goes to punch, Shin uses her force to keep his arm pulled back. Her hand is extended, her head tilted, and she turns her hand clockwise as she watches the beasts’ arm slowly turn in the same direction. Her smirk has dropped, but her eyes remain glued to him. The leader cries out and falls to his knees, using his other hand to try to stop his arm from breaking. With a quick snap, his arm is shattered, bearing more cries from under his helmet. As he is kneeled over, Shin kicks him backwards, once again mounting the raider leader.
Sabine wipes her brow, blowing a satisfied sigh from her lips. She scours the battlefield and sees Shin kneeled over the leader of the raiders, but an intense dread overcomes her when she sees Shin reach for its helmet.
Shin throws the helmet of the leader aside, staring intensely into its frightening eyes. Shin bares her teeth and inches her face forward. “This is for what you did. To me.” There is a crack in her voice as she fights tears. At this point, her saber has been retracted. She holds the hilt of her lightsaber in two shaking hands. She brings her hands above her head slowly, not breaking eye contact, and screams as she bashes the hilt into the raiders face. She sits there for a moment with the hilt in its face, now losing eye contact. She takes a quick breath in and screams—sobs—as she repeats the assault—over and over again.
Her arms are numb by the time Sabine reaches her. Shin cries out as she attempts to push Sabine away, but Sabine’s grip on her hands is too strong. Everything in her space is blurry or numb, except for the picture painted in front of her: a face that has been beaten beyond recognition. A bloody, gory picture that Shin can’t take her eyes off. It takes Sabine’s hands around her waist to finally break her out of her spell, and she is pulled off the body.
Shin is kneeled on the ground now, Sabine kneeled in front of her. The expression on Sabine’s face is enough to make the blondes’ heart sink. Tears pour uncontrollably from Shin’s eyes as Sabine holds her cheeks in both hands, holding her gaze. “He can’t hurt you anymore, Shin. None of them can; we beat ‘em.” Sabine forces an uneasy smile onto her face, cracking a joke to try to lighten the situation. Shin’s whole body is shaking, which persuades Sabine to pull her close. Sabine pulls the girl into a hug so quickly it nearly forces the air out of both of them. One of Sabines hands holds the back of Shin’s head tightly, her fingers intertwined in her hair. The other hand is wrapped around Shin’s waist, gripping onto her shirt. Both of Shin’s arms reach up behind Sabines back, holding onto her shoulders.
They kneel there for what seems like an eternity, but it is the only thing that feels right. The force between them is at ease; a simple hum that is welcomed by both. Shin’s shaky sobs have stopped, now slipping from an adrenaline rush and coming to her senses—she is exhausted.
*definitely didn't picture that one scene from the last of us during this...

I just feel you - part II
*Still listening to moon song because it’s the wolfwren anthem (to me)
Shins eyes open slowly and all she sees is a grey wall. Out of sleep, she forgets where she is, and for a moment she panics. She lifts herself up on her elbows, but everything sets into place when she feels a harsh pain in her abdomen. She lets out a deep, relieved sigh and looks to her side, seeing Sabine in a peaceful slumber. Shin thinks it might be late morning, but isn’t sure. It takes all of her energy to get out of the bed, especially since she has to crawl over Sabine. Once she stands, she holds most of her weight against the nearest wall, her other hand holding her wound. She lowers her head to see the damage, but it is already looking better. Their droid, Huyang, stitched her up and cleaned the wound thoroughly and neatly. Shin is silently grateful.
Shin wears a grey tank top and a pair of baggy pants she has never seen before. Her bare feet are cold on the metal floor. It makes her uneasy to think that maybe Sabine saw her undressed, but she tries to think of other things. She reaches for the door and exits the room, taking in the rest of the ship. Her attention is drawn away from the table raised in the middle of the room when she sees Huyang, who raises his robotic arms in surprise.
“You’re awake? How are you feeling?” The droid chirps. Shin glares at him, unsure. “Fine.” She replies. “Wonderful.” The droid says. “Where is the Jedi?” Shin asks, still glaring at the droid. “Lady Tano is outside with the Noti.”
Shin exits the ship, covering her eyes with one hand as the sun beams onto her. Her other hand still holds over her wound. She walks down the ramp and onto the grass, where she enjoys the feeling of fresh earth on her feet. She’s looking down at the grass when she hears the voice of the Jedi:
“Shin Hati, I see you’re awake.” Ahsoka has a warm grin on her face, evident she saw her and Sabine sharing the same bed. Never in her life did Shin think she’d blush over such childish things. Nevertheless, she was blushing.
“I wanted to thank you for helping me.” Shin says, ignoring her red cheeks. Ahsoka takes a few steps closer. “Thank Sabine. She found you. She begged for us to help you. You’re lucky I’m a hospitable person.” Ahsoka looks around at the small village of nomads. Shin follows her gaze. It’s hard to believe she was once an enemy to these people. “I still don’t know how she did it,” Ahsoka brings her gaze back to Shin, “found you, that is.” Shin looks down at her feet. “I was looking for you, first. Which reminds me; I need to talk to you and Sabine.” Seriousness fills Shins words, and Ahsoka gives a stiff nod.
Sabine, Ahsoka, and Shin are standing around the table in the T-6’s main room. Shin is now in her regular attire; cloak and armor, but she wears a new shirt and pants. Sabine wears what Shin believes is her training outfit; a tank top and baggy pants. Ahsoka is wearing a usual outfit with a shawl. “So what is this about?” Sabine says, familiar yet cautious. Shin gives the girl a piercing look, not menacing, but of importance. “The raiders which almost killed me,” Shin starts, moving her glare to Ahsoka, who has her arms crossed, “they plan on taking you out. All of you.”
“What? Why? They’ve always lived on this planet together. What’s different?” Sabine says, doubt in her tone. “You. Me.” Shin says, looking at the table. “I became one of them. They looked up to me. Saw me as their leader. I planned an attack on you and the Noti of this tribe. I thought it’s what I needed to do. But—“ “So you lied. You said the raiders were planning an attack but it was actually you.” Sabine scoffs and raises an eyebrow. Ahsoka watches the two girls. Shin sighs. “Yes, but here I am now. I tried to make things right. I was too late. They turned on me in an instant.” Shin says with a remorseful tone. “So why are you telling us this?” Sabine says.
“Because they’re coming here now.” Ahsoka understands, giving the girls an adamant look. “We must gather the nomads and move. Now.” Ahsoka slams a hand on the table and moves out. “No.” Ahsoka stops in her tracks, dropping her head. Shin shakes her head. “These nomads move too slow. We must stay and fight.” Shin places a hand on her lightsaber. “These people can’t fight. They are primitive. Peaceful. We can’t force them to learn something they’ve gone generations without.” Ahsoka turns back to Shin and Sabine. “We don’t need them to fight. We need to keep them safe.” Sabine says. Shin nods her head. “Let’s start gathering them, then.” Sabine says finally.
The three of them start going around the small village of Noti, explaining to their best degree that they need to stay in their pods and hide. Shin has an especially hard time communicating, and her frustration is apparent on her face. From afar, Sabine smirks a little as she watches the girl lose her patience.
Once all of the nomads are “packed up” and safe, Shin stands with her hands on her hips, surveying the different pods. She can’t begin to imagine life in one of them; so small, compact, and always on the move. It makes her nervous just thinking about it. And to think, the boy Ezra had been living in one for a decade. Shin couldn’t bare—
“Thank you.” Sabine appears behind Shin, causing her to jump and spin around to meet her. Shin keeps her face blank, eyes wide. “For helping these people.” Sabine steps closer, her hands behind her back. “Yes. I owed them. And you.” Shins face softens ever so slightly, but enough for Sabine to notice.
Sabine breathes in deep, sensing that uncontrollable force once again. It hums through her body, vibrates through her limbs, sends shockwaves to her fingertips. She feels as if the only relief is to touch the girl in front of her.
Sabine watches her hand shake as she lifts it to meet Shins cheek. The girls eyes get impossibly wider and her eyebrows quiver. Shins mouth opens just slightly, but she finds no words. Uncontrollably, her eyes dart from Sabine’s eyes to her lips. Her heart races, her fingertips twitch, and her mind longs for the purple-haired girl.
“Do you feel it, too?” Sabine whispers, desperation in her expression. Shins own expression softens with unsatisfaction. Shin shakes her head very lightly, not understanding. “Feel what?” She whispers, still looking at the girl. Sabines hand falls from Shins face as she turns to walk away. Shin shakes her head, reaching out to grab Sabine, any part of her. She can’t stand to be away from her touch.
Sabines head shakes as she lifts a hand to her mouth. “Forget it.” She says coldly. Shin stops reaching out for her, an angered expression crossing her face, but it quickly vanishes. She is speechless; what had happened? How had she lost her? It happened so fast. “The force.” Shin says quietly, starting to understand what the girl was referencing. Sabine stops and drops her head. She turns back to look at Shin. “I feel it too, Sabine. Before we arrived on this planet you had no power. Now you do. And I feel it.” Shin takes a few steps forward. “How did you do it?” She attempts to show a warm expression, urging Sabine to open up to her.
They gaze at each other for a moment, but their desperate state is interrupted by the piercing sound a spear, which shoots through the air inches from Shin and stabs into the earth. Both girls’ reach for their sabers, ducking and scanning the environment. When they see nothing, they hop into a run towards Ahsoka.
Ahsoka is surprised to see Shin and Sabine approaching with such anticipation; both have their blades ignited, their other hands intertwined. When they notice, they immediately drop their arms to their sides in a professional stiffness. “What is it?” Ahsoka asks, wondering she should, too, have her sabers ready.
“They’re here.” Shin says coldly.

…as someone once said.
Literally am such a pansy for hurt/comfort lesbos <3
Listening to moon song while writing this btw
This is so much longer than it needed to be so I might write a part 2 🤭
I just feel you
“…fuck!” Her eyes are wide, glaring out into the thick woods that surround her. She can barely make anything out in the darkness. She keeps walking, a hand held over her abdomen. Reaching out to grab the stump of a nearby tree, Shin winces, throwing her head back. She furrows her brows in order to hold burning tears back. She lets out a growl through clenched teeth, bringing her head back down to look at her hand, covered in blood. She knows she is losing too much to make it to camp, but keeps walking anyways. Probably out of pure spite.
The fire is alive more than usual tonight, Sabine notices, which brings wider smiles to her and her masters faces. They sit around a fire, along with a few Noti, laughing and telling stories to their best extent due to their language barrier. Sabine watches her masters face, not adding anything to the stories, but just smiling as Ahsoka goes on about her past. It’s a special thing for Ahsoka to reminisce in a relaxed, positive way. Sabines thoughts linger as she’s spectating, and she slowly brings her gaze towards the fire. She feels something deep in her body and mind, similar to the day Ezra and Thrawn made their escape. She feels — senses — a shadow within the light.
“What does it mean?”
Ahsoka looks over to Sabine, her smile fading just a little bit. She tilts her head, “what does what mean?” Ahsoka can sense a disturbance within Sabine. Sabine meets her eyes, and with a quick smile she stands. “Nothing. I need to take a walk.” She brings her hands up and slaps them against her thighs. As she walks away, Ahsoka lowers her head, figuring it was time to rest anyways.
Shin has given up on walking. She feels her body becoming lighter, weaker. She now rests against a tree, her eyes focused on a creature atop a branch. It is a bird-like creature. A beautiful creature, Shin thinks. She closes her eyes, feeling the force on her back, in the tree. Under her, within the grass. In front of her, the bird. It is a welcoming feeling as she slips into a sleep that she may not ever awake from.
She takes a deep breath in, but a sob escapes her throat. Her tears can no longer be held back by anger and frustration. She takes it for what it is; fear of dying, sadness from Baylan. She sits there, bleeding out, and cries for a life she is leaving behind.
Sabine has her lightsaber held slightly above her head as she traverses the thick woods. The moon is barely giving any light to the ground, but the green emitting from her saber does well enough to keep her aware of her surroundings. She doesn’t know where she is going, just that something is out there, calling to her. She figures it’s the force, as she has come to realize that this planet is humming with it. It is stronger here than it is anywhere she’s been before. It is comforting, she thinks, but also frustrating; she wants to understand why, and why she feels so drawn to something on this planet. She can almost feel it, the force, but it always a click away from her fingertips.
Sabines head lifts so her eyes meet it. A creature in the branches. She can see it so clearly in the dark woods. Her heart picks up pace and a kind of hum courses through her. She tip toes towards the creature, keeping both of her hands out as if showing she means no harm. Her saber is still ignited, but only for its light. Sabine blinks and the creature is gone, flapping its wings, flying deeper into the forest. “Shit,” Sabine says quickly, running after the creature. She puts all of her effort into keeping upright; the forest is getting thicker with roots and rocks, making it more difficult to traverse.
She follows the creature for a few minutes, but the forest seems to have taken itself as superior as Sabine catches her foot on a root and is immediately sent to the ground. Her lightsaber is retracted and she rolls a few times before coming to a stop. Her face is in the grass beneath her. She lifts her head up, defeated, and slowly gets herself up. She brushes her clothes off and finds her saber in a pile of leaves next to her. “Why?” She calls out, almost yelling. Sabine bursts out in laughter. “Why am I chasing after a bird?” She runs her hands over her temples and eyes, sighing. She turns a few times, trying to take in her surroundings. Now she is lost.
Sabine starts walking in one direction, presumably the right one, but something catches her eye. Metal glints in the moonlight. She raises a brow, now cautious. She raises her saber, igniting it, but now it is not only for light. As she gets closer, her heart drops as she sees a girl laying against a tree, white hair and eyes closed. “Shin,” she starts into a sprint to get to the girl.
Sabine drops to the ground, grasping at the girls hands. They cover a wound, a serious one, Sabine realizes. “No, no… you’re bleeding out. Shin? Shin,” her words start strong, but lower to a whisper as she calls out the girls name. She grabs at a corner of her shawl, ripping a strip from it. She pulls Shin gently away from the tree, wrapping the strip of cloth around her torso. At the ends of the strip, she lifts Shins shirt to stuff the cloth into the open wound. Sabine winces as she feels blood cover her hands. “Come on, I’ve got you.” She reaches under the girl, lifting her. Holding her bridal style, Sabine looks around, desperate for a way back to camp.
Sabine closes her eyes, desperation laced in her face and voice. “Help me,” she almost whimpers. Tears threaten her eyes as they’re closed, and her throat holds a weight she can’t quite keep up. “Help me!” She yells this time. She opens her eyes and sees the creature once more, now on the ground. It blinks at her, then takes off in one direction.
“Ahsoka!” The togruta raises out of her bed quickly, making her way towards the door of the ship. She stumbles out, not quite shaking the feeling of a deep sleep. Her eyes take a minute to adjust, but when they do, her mind is clear and she is running towards her padawan. “Sabine..!” Ahsoka reaches out to Shin while keeping eye contact with Sabine. She takes Shin from her arms, bringing her up the ramp and onto the ship.
“What happened?” Ahsoka rips the blouse enough to reveal the wound, and Sabine turns away, placing the back of her hand on her mouth. “I don’t know! I was just in the woods following…” Sabine trails off. “I found her like this in the forest.” Ahsoka watches Sabines face with a raised brow. “Can you help her?” Sabine says, worry laced into her words. Ahsoka turns to look at Shin, rubbing her hand over her head. Ahsoka nods, turns around, and runs to grab Huyang. Sabine steps forward to be closer to Shin, holding one hand over the girls abdomen, and the other over her cheek. Sabine traces her eyes over the entirety of Shin, not before able to look at the girl like this. In this state, vulnerable and unconscious, Sabine sees just how pretty she is.
“How are you here?” She whispers.
As her adrenaline bleeds from her, however, she can finally feel the force connecting her to Shin. It is almost at a crescendo, about to erupt from every orifice in her body. She moves her hands away from the girl, turning away. She turns into Huyang, who has brought supplies to fix the girl. Sabine moves him to the side and walks out of the room, fingertips making contact with her lips. Ahsoka looks at her worriedly.
Ahsoka leans in the doorframe of Sabines room, her arms crossed. She cannot see Sabine, but can sense that she is awake and disturbed.
“She’s alive. Huyang says she will live.” Ahsoka breaks the silence. She hears no response from Sabine. Ahsoka sighs and moves into the room, peaking over at Sabine in her bed. As Ahsoka predicted, she lays there with her eyes wide open, surveying the ceiling.
“I can feel her. I feel it more than I’ve felt anything.” Sabine says after a quick minute of silence. Ahsoka slowly nods. “It is the force, padawan. It’s strong within Shin.” “No, this is different. Shadow in the starlight…” Sabine trails off. She rubs her eyes with both hands and turns over, obviously done with the conversation.
It is nighttime now, and Sabine still lies awake. She cannot shake the feeling taking over her body. She decides to get up and pace her room before giving into her urge to see Shin.
She enters the medical room, cautiously surveying her surroundings. She sees Shin, covered up now, with her head turned away from Sabine. Sabine swallows down what she could feel was the start of tears. She reaches her hand out and runs her hand over the girls abdomen. “How did this happen,” not entirely asking, but wondering. Sabine can feel the peaceful breathing of Shin, and falls into a similar pattern. Before long, however, it is interrupted by the hands of Shin, grabbing at anything she can. She is breathing heavily and her eyes are wide. Sabine moves both hands to Shins shoulders, shushing her. “It’s okay! It’s okay, you’re okay!”
“—you’re okay!” Shin glares daggers into Sabines pitying eyes. She has stilled herself and remains upright on her elbows. “Why did you help me?” Shin says through clenched teeth after a long silence. Tears fall from her eyes, but she keeps them locked on Sabine. Sabine now has her hands slightly raised, taking time to find the right thing to say. “I was drawn to you, I don’t know. I felt you,” Sabine dips into those last words. Shin flinches at the pure emotion of Sabines words.
Shin looks down at her abdomen, raising the blanket. She has just a tank top on now, but its raised above the wound to where she can see it. She lowers the blanket and falls back into the bed, too weak to try to flee.
“I was betrayed by the people I’ve been taking shelter with,” Sabine flinches at the sudden break of silence. She looks at Shin, who is staring at the ceiling. “I’m sorry.” Sabine says. Shin scoffs, “I don’t need your pity.” She says. Sabine now notices the slight accent in Shins words. She likes it. “I was actually trying to find you.” Shin says while meeting Sabines eyes. Sabine bites her lip, and without thinking she grabs one of the girls’ hands. “Well I’m glad I found you,” Sabine smiles warmly. Shins eyebrows shudder and she smiles too, still gazing into Sabines eyes.
Shin turns her head away and looks at the wall next to her. Sabine releases her grasp on Shins hands and starts to walk away. Shin bites her lip as she begins to cry. “Can you stay?” The words are so light and vulnerable Sabine almost didn’t hear them. She stops in her tracks, heart pounding. She turns around and looks at the sad girl. “Of course.”
In the morning, Ahsoka makes her way to Sabines room. She is curious when she doesn’t find her there. Maybe she’s begun training early, Ahsoka thinks, but almost laughs at herself. She walks toward the ship exit when she sees the open medical room door. She inhales deeply and walks into the room, not expecting to find Sabine and Shin sharing the same bed. Shin is taking up as little space as possible; she lays on her side, almost in a fetal position, facing the wall. Sabine, however, has one arm over Shins waist, but the rest of her limbs are all over the place. They are both peacefully and soundly asleep. Ahsoka decides to back out of the room, closing the door quietly, with a big grin on her face.
Okay so, I’m gonna write s2, where Shin or Sabine ends up injured and the other one finds them and ends up helping them for some reason they “can’t explain”, and they’re by firelight one night and they kiss and-
