i have a shiny azumarill i found in pokemon violet this was really early game, i dont think i even had level 40 pkmn by then and done maybe 2 gyms. i was on the beach, by that big city with the electric gym, and found a shiny azumarill just wondering around, and rushed to catch it.

Maybe, but from what I think this scene shows, Oden is trying to save Shinobu from being captured along with them by denying any relations to her. And since she had only joined them for this battle it seems they got away with it.

Yeah, you’re probably right. I took another look at the scene with this in mind and it definitely sounds like he could be protecting her. Especially since she doesn’t seem too happy with this outcome. If she was the traitor she might seem a little happier.

龍帷子 could be read as Ryuu Katabira, meaning something like Dragon Shroud. But given that Rin is from China (according to the guide book, also his hero outfit seems to be based on Jiangshi), it could very well be possible to have a Chinese reading instead.
