This is wild that Lotus is like "Mwahaha it was me behind everything!" and Simon is like "I don't even know who you are?" and really like... I've wondered why since day one Lotus was dragged up from the WW2 order like... why this lady got such a hate on for Simon? (and looking it up, it isn't really explained until a 2000 story and then looking at that, it completely contradicts what is happening here? Man I dunno... weird choice.)

Anyway, everyone is so interested in Simon cause his soul is immortal and so all the people who like get powers from souls wanna get their hands on that... but it is extra funny with Force Works around the corner...

Recurring villain Lotus Newmark orchestrates widespread street violence, leading the creation of a private security group called Armed Response.

Some sadistic killings in this, and a villain with an interesting plan. The supporting cast are developing superpowers, and Simon has gone over to the dark side in a big way. It's a far cry from where the series was when it started, a mere 16 issues ago.

A compelling, mature read.

Armed Response is not willing to put their lives on the line, so they stand down and Lotus realizes she has lost... but she isn't going out like that, so she has her 2nd in command take the heat for her.

Simon is dealing with some serious PTSD and his agent is like "yes BUT maybe we could capitalize on this and make money?!"

So this is  Lotus Newmark, and while this is her first main order, she actually was also in the very last like 5 Invader books as well in the WWII order.... she is gonna also be a bit of a big deal in the Wonder Man books when they come around.
