Bonus internet points will be awarded to anyone who actually tries this exercise before voting.
Assume you need to get the spelling at least somewhat close, and if a character has multiple names, only one counts. Also, if a character doesn't have a canonical name, I'm sorry, but "that guy's wife" doesn't count.
For reference, if you can name the 9 members of the Fellowship, the eponymous Hobbit and his 13 dwarf buddies, 3 prominent women, and the guy who runs the Rivendell B&B, that's 27 characters right there. And you probably also know the name of a dragon.
For further reference, Tolkien Gateway has 637 (!!) pages dedicated to Third Age characters. (Don't click that link until you've voted, of course)
Edit: Your humble pollmaker gave this a try, and got as far as 73 before deciding she was too tired to keep trying to remember dwarf and Silm names. If you also want to share (and don't mind people being incredulous at your having forgot ____), pastebin allows you to paste text and share it for free. :)

I'm so sorry for you Charlies. Both of you gave one of the Best performances in the year and Amazon didn't bother to nominate them. This is so sad. They are the BEST, everyone knows that.

Some more great news about "Rings of Power" first with season 3 as it was listed in this article today talking about all the upcoming movies and shows that will be filming the UK in 2025!!! 😀
Then season 2 just got some more award nominations as Bear McCreary got two from the Society of Composers and Lyricists: one for Best TV Series Score, and the other for Best Original Song for his "Tom Bombadil" song.

Title
The Pinnacles - Exploring the Paths of the Dead
The Pinnacles on the North Island of New Zealand are just amazing and fascinate with remarkable rock formations. One might also know this place from "Lord of the Rings" as the "Paths to the Dead". I think this is a perfect title for this stunning panorama. The image is showing a person (/me) with a lamp exploring this surreal place during the night with the Milky Way expanding over the scenery.

"Suddenly Boromir’s breath caught, reminding him of his aching chest. Relief, pride, affection overwhelmed him. They had won! Pippin lay sleeping curled about Boromir’s horn, his chin resting on its rim, its curved end about his waist, and his arm tucked over it." ['Rapid Peril' by Carolyn Golledge. 2008]

One Dress a Day Challenge
November: Oscar Winners
The Return of the King / Viggo Mortensen as Aragorn (King Elessar)
Year: 2003
Designers: Ngila Dickson and Richard Taylor
I think everybody knows that the awards for this movie are kind of unofficial acknowledgements of the whole trilogy retroactively, but I did want to feature something from the actual third movie. There aren't too many new costumes in it, and most of the women's costumes have been covered in other posts. But the armorers outdid themselves with Aragorn's coronation armor. The detail really shows up on the screen.
The breastplate shows the symbol of the seven stars over the white tree in flower. At the top appears to be Tolkien's own design for the crown of Gondor (see below), which was just a repurposed war helmet. The actual crown that Aragorn wears is much nicer looking, but I'm a bit surprised they deviated from the book on this. Usually they tried hard to follow the book descriptions even when it might look silly--for example, their interpretation of the "wings of seabirds" on the helmets of the tower guard. (I personally don't think they got that right, but still, they weren't afraid of looking goofy.)

For a show that had a 30% completion rate it's first season, Amazon really shouldn't of have bothered releasing fake spoilers, I doubt many people are even checking for S2 leaks anyways as most have already checked out after S1. First Amazon lies and inflates their viewership numbers (also see Citadel) and now this lol. If the show had been a worldwide phenomenon like Game of Thrones was back in the day then I understand but what Amazon is pulling here with this flop show is pure clownery. I bet season two's viewership will fall even more.
