Wanna hear a song? I don't care il sing it
You don't know me, but my name's Cy
I'm just the O'Hare delivery guy
But it seems like trees might be worth a try
So I say, let it growMy name is Dan
Rose: And my name's Rose
Both: Our son Wesley kinda glows
And that's not good, so we suppose
We should let it growLet it grow, let it grow
(three people join in) You can't reap what you don't sow
(crowd joins in) Plant a seed inside the Earth
Just one way to know its worth
Let's celebrate the world's rebirth
We say let it growMy name's Marie, and I am three
I would really like to see a tree
La-la-la-la-la-la-la-lee
I say let it grow
Norma: I'm Grammy Norma, I'm old and I've got gray hair
But I remember when trees were everywhere
And no one had to pay for air (clonks Mr. O'Hare on the head with her cane)
So I say, let it grow!
Chorus: Let it grow, let it grow
Like it did so long ago
It's just one tiny seed
But it's all we really need
It's time to change the life we lead
Time to let it growMy name's O'Hare, I'm one of you
I live here in Thneedville too
The things you say just might be true
It might be time to start anew
And maybe change my point of view...
(music stops)
Nah! (chuckles) I say let it die!
Let it die, Let it die
Let it shrivel up and-
Come on, who's with me, huh?
Marie: Nobody.
Cy: YOU GREEDY DIRTBAG!Let it grow, let it grow
Let the love inside you show
(bodyguards strap a jet helmet to O'Hare, sending him flying)
Plant a seed inside the Earth
Just one way to know its worth
Let's celebrate the world's rebirth
We say let it grow
Let it grow, let it grow
You can't reap what you don't sow
It's just one tiny seed
But it's all we really need
It's time to banish all your greed
Imagine Thneedville flowered and tree'd
Let this be our solemn creed
Once-ler: Thank you, Ted.
DONE MY POOKIES AND ELITA-1 SLAYS
The Lorax? I'm not surprised.
Bee loves that movie.

Random but… I’m manifesting ✨ Taylor dates Zac Efron. I saw a Tik Tok of him talking about her for yrs straight and blushing whenever someone mentioned her to him. Then there is that one video of him just starring at her, grinning and being sly saying he’s falling for her while whispering cause she was next to him…. It’s such a night and day difference… I noticed with a lot of Taylor’s exes they don’t feel comfortable talking about her, or are moody and unappreciative and stuck up, almost like it bothers them that she’s more successful…
E.g: John would make backhanded comments about Taylor, her talent and success…
Joe despite being with Tay for 7 years 💔 wouldn’t even name a song of hers he liked… Then dismissed winning a literal Grammy … Comparing it to bread making… Very dismissive if anyone brought her up… Then her mentioning during QT she was lonely 😞
Jake would make her feel crappy. Wouldn’t show up to her birthday, didn’t like the public attention and would stare down and dismiss anyone who brought her up to him, besides Howard Stern… Complain about her bodyguards… He was just super pretentious…
Calvin started out great, but by the end switched up on her cause he was checked out, then started to resent her. But even he would be in denial about her. “Wouldn’t work with her” … “Not my type.”
It just says so much that Zac who never dated her has since she was 19 just shown so much support. Even at award shows they both attend he’s there cheering on Taylor and complimenting her artistry, talent and personality. He even still plays the guitar nowadays because she taught him and kept at it. He adores her.
✨✨✨✨ I don’t know if you agree but if they get together I just got a feeling she would thrive with him…
Get out of my head anon because although I do not ship people in real life, can I tell you that Taylor / Zac is the one pairing I have always secretly hoped for 😍 I agree, he has always had such kind, respectful things to say about her and they way they interacted during the Lorax press still makes me melt, all these years later 😂 you know how people have, ‘the one that got away’? Well, my delusional mind has convinced myself that they’re lowkey each others, ‘What if…”
The only thing is, I don’t think Zac would have an issue with her success at all, but I also don’t know if he could handle her level of fame and all the stress that comes with it. He seems very lowkey these days, very much about his work and mental health and he’s been open about his struggles and addiction, and idk if the scrutiny would be healthy for him.
But still, I’m with you, anon. I would love for them to get together 😂

The Lorax Musical Rewrite: Act 1, Scene 1
Look, just assume that for this first scene, everyone is singing unless indicated otherwise. Also, listen to “Thneedville (Demo)” before reading, so you can know what they are actually singing. Btw, I didn’t write the song, I just planned out the stage directions and other details not related to lyrics.
Act 1, Scene 1:
Setting: Thneedville
(Lights slowly go up on an empty stage as the beginning of “Thneedville (Demo)” starts playing. On stage are the buildings and streets of Thneedville, or at least the basics. All the buildings are broken and crumbled, and everything is a slightly bleak color)
Ensemble
In Thneedville
It’s a brand new day
(As the ensemble begins to sing, they gradually enter the stage, acting out daily life. All are dressed in far too many clothes, and some are holding shopping bags filled to the brim with random objects)
Ensemble
Can’t see the sun
But we like it that way
(Ensemble pauses what they are doing before turning their heads towards the audience)
Ensemble
Here in Get-More-Than-We-Need-Ville
(All go back to what they were doing)
Ensemble
In Thneedville
Where the buildings are broke
(Where the buildings are broke)
And the streetlights drop
And the chemicals flow
Little Girl
(Standing front center stage) I just went swimming, and now I glow! (Runs offstage)
Ensemble
(All put their hands on over their hearts and face towards audience) Just one place has stayed the same
The hill that bares our founder’s name
A tradition we maintain
Random Man
Soon to become a pizza chain!
Ensemble
Pizza chain!
Pizza chain!
(Everyone goes back to what they were doing before Mr. O’Hare enters from upstage right and walks grandly over to upstage center, followed by a bodyguard. All turn to Mr. O’Hare)
Ensemble
(Cheerfully) Oh look it’s Aloysius O’Hare (Aloysius O’Hare)
The man who
Bottle up fresh air
And became a zillionaire!
(All lights on stage go off except for a spotlight on O’Hare, who has walked to center stage)
O’Hare
(To audience, as though telling a secret) Everyone round here works for me
I sell them something they should get for free
We’ll live in perfect harmony!
(All stage lights come back up and all surround O’Hare)
Ensemble
In Thneedville!
In Thneedville!
Hip hooray! Hip hooray! Hip hip hooray!
(All stage lights begin to go dark with the cast exiting the stage as a spotlight lands far downstage left, and Ted comes onstage to stand under the spotlight. Ted addresses audience for the rest of the song)
Ted
All I ever wanted is a whose-it
I would never flaunt it
Oh how I’d use it
Everybody has one
Like Jared and Julie and Jim
And even Ronald Shnook has one
And nobody’s lamer than him
(Lovingly) And I would play with it all day (Play with all day)
And never ever lose it (Never lose it)
Cause all I’ve ever wanted is a whose-it
(Hesitates) Except-
(Runs to downstage center, spotlight following him)
For the time that I wanted a scooter
A cell phone, a trombone, a laptop computer
A sports car, an SUV, robot that looks like me
A broadsword, a surfboard, a gas powered sled
Little pet monkey that danced on my head!
But this!
This is totally different!
Cause all I’ve ever wanted in my life
Is the stuff that I
Don’t have
(Stage lights come back up as the ensemble re enters stage and dance their instructed choreography. Ted doesn’t join them, instead staying in place as he looks straight at the audience or slightly upwards, depending on director’s instructions)
Ensemble
In Thneedville, it’s a brand new day!
Ted
All I ever wanted is the stuff that I don’t have!
Ensemble
Can’t see the sun
But we like it that way!
Here in Get-More-Than-We-Need-Ville!
Ted
Want it terribly!
Ensemble
In Thneedville!
Ted
Want it horribly!
Ensemble
You’re never alone
Ted
All I ever wanted is the stuff that I don’t have!
Ensemble
Because you always
Got the stuff that you own
Ted
Where is the stuff that I
Haven’t had?
Ensemble
Here in Spend-Until-You-Bleed-Ville!
Growing-Like-A-Weed-Ville!
Please-Don’t-Mention-Greed-Ville!
We’re happy here in
Thneedville!

The Lorax - 3
Onceler woke up and stretched. He was feeling quite thrilled. Business was booming! But something seemed to gnaw at him, like he was forgetting something. What was he forgetting? He threw off his covers and dashed to his calendar. Nope, he remembered all of his appointments and everything on his to-do list. So what was nagging him?
A loud banging was heard at his door. “Onceler, are you up yet? We have that meeting with the new mayor today!”
“Be out in a minute, Mother!” called out Onceler. He raced to the closet and changed into his suit. He checked himself out in the mirror. With a grin, he placed his hat on his head. He paused. The color green, what was about it that made him feel sad looking at it right now? He hadn’t done so before. Why now? What had he forgotten again?
“Onceler!”
“Coming!” Onceler took one more look at the mirror to make sure everything looked perfect before leaving. The meeting with Mayor O’Hare went pretty well, all things considered. He seemed insistent on hiring Bret and Chet as his bodyguards, but Onceler would only agree to it once the last tree was harvested. O’Hare readily agreed, and the family returned to their mansion.
“I wonder why the new mayor was so quick to accept my terms?” wondered Onceler as they walked home.
His Aunt Grizelda scoffed. “Because the last tree is going to be cut down either today or tomorrow.”
Onceler paused. “Wait, what?” Everything came back to him in a flash. Emerald! The Lorax! The seeds! His promise! “No!” He raced back to the factory.
“Onceler! Where are you going? What’s wrong?” His family ran after him.
“We need the seeds to . . .” he shouted, but paused when he reached the top of the hill. The last tree just fell down.
“What? Whatever for?” asked his mother.
“I-I promised to plant them! And I didn’t!”
His mother waved her hand dismissively. “Oh hosh posh, you didn’t need to do that!”
Onceler didn’t hear her, he was glancing down at the valley. He gasped when he saw a line of animals moving out of what was once their home, aided by fairies. He dashed down the hill. “Emerald!”
“Onceler! Come back!”
Onceler didn’t pay attention. He ran pell-mell down into the valley, calling for Emerald and the Lorax. About halfway down, a red fairy came buzzing around his head, poking and pinching him. “Ow! Ow ow ow ow OW!” Onceler tried to swap him away, but he kept on coming back. “Hey! Come on! Cut it out!”
“Why, huh? You broke your promise! You made Emerald sad!”
“I know! I-I’m sorry!”
“Saying sorry doesn’t cut it!”
“Ruby!” The Enchantress flew up, followed by the rest of the Guardians, including a very crestfallen Emerald. “That’s enough.”
“Enchantress, Emerald, I am so so sorry . . .”
The Enchantress held up her hand. “Ruby is right though, just saying sorry doesn’t cut it.” The Enchantress sighed. “But I sense that you are sincere in your guilt and regret. So,” she paused and gave him two seeds, “you must plant one and give the other to the first person who will listen to your story and learn from it.” She blew some fairy dust onto him. “Until then, you will live forever, and you will grow old.” Onceler’s hair began turning white. “After that, you must tell your story as many times as the number of trees you have cut down. Only then will we reconsider you becoming a friend again.” The Enchantress turned. There was the Lorax. “Do you think that is fair punishment?”
The Lorax nodded. “I think it is very fair.” He turned and glanced at all the sawed off trunks. “Very fair indeed.” The Enchantress flew to his shoulder and sat upon it before he floated away. The other fairies followed.
“Wait, Emerald.” Emerald paused and glanced at Onceler. A tear fell from her eye before Ruby came back and put his arm around her, leading her away. Onceler let out a sad sigh before walking back to his family.
Upon hearing the story, it didn’t take long for his family to up and leave him. He planted one of the seeds like he promised, then boarded up his house, and waited. Years later, Ted came along. He heard the story and planted the seed. Onceler came out and told the story to everyone in town. And then he told everyone he could after that.

Allow me to answer these questions based on my experiences after joining the once-ler fandom for almost one year now. I'll be only answering questions i knew the answers.
1. -
2. Yes he has teeth, he probably saved all those clean water for himself.
3. Many people headcanon him as a home-schooled boy, and he probably didn't study abt biology. So he knew nothing abt gelatin stuffs.
4. To the infinity and beyond.
5. I wonder this by myself, but i think he made his own small bathroom inside the lurkim(?)
6. I'm thinking of the same way that o'hare did. He had some air conditioner/air cleaner for himself (and the factory maybe), which transferred all the smogs to the outside of his factory.
7. -
8. In tumblr version, the word "once-ler" in french is "gas-pilleur" which is a pun of the word "gaspilleur" that means "wasteful". No shit i actually cried when i knew this why his mom gotta be so harsh to him. (Theory by @herasouflee )
9. -
10. -
11. How long they last? Probably as long as general clothes. I headcanon that the pink clothes grammy norma wore is a thneed, since they have the same color (and maybe it's a gift from once-ler, who knows).
12. -
13. He's a pretty self-centered guy in the hbcib song, so yeah he took many photoshoots.
14. Probably, but not that much because he had a thneed business to ran.
15. Four people. Mr o'hare himself, his two bodyguards, and ted. Maybe seven, since ted told audrey, grammy norma, and his mom too.
16. He's an imaginative and optimistic person, he probably wouldn't give up and would stay in that forest till he got another idea to work on.
17. -
18. -
19. Maybe he did, but he lost hope and needed some times for himself regretting all he had done.
20. -
21. -
22. -
23. -
24. They walked to find a new place where they can live and have food, but unfortunately there are none since once-ler already chopped down all their habitats. They died ig, except for the swamee swans. I have no idea how they appear in the end of the movie.
25. -
26. -
27. -
28. -
29. Much. I bet he'd fed up already by once-ler's weird craps, but there's no one else to pet him beside the once-ler.
30. I bet he can swim since he was born and spent his times in the forest swimming in the river with the humming fishes.
31. Yes you have (look up number 8), and yeah it's pretty weird for someone's name.
32. - (this one's pretty interesting but I don't have any theory yet)
33. -
34. I don't know much abt his family, but i think he did all those dancey and guitar stuffs in his room without his mother knowing. He probably got insulted when he did it in front of the family, but eh- he didn't really care (deep down he's actually hurt but he refused his feelings).
35. He fed melvin and told him to went all over the place ig, till he found the perfect place and material for his thneed.
36. For the barbaloots? Yes, because i never heard the name barbaloots before (they were actually bears right?). For the swamee swans and humming fishes, they probably already discovered but once-ler tended to gave em names anyways.

38. Uhhhh you okay bud? I think the lorax taste like a monkey meat (since he's a tapas monkey). But no, I don't think he can be killed, unless you're a god then yes.
Ight that's for today! Woah this is taking for almost 30 minutes haha, but i hope these answers can help! ;) I'll edit this post later if i know some answers for the unanswered questions here.
so many lorax 2012 (mainly about onceler) questions
how much guitar playing did the onceler do in that lurkim tower of his?
Does he even have teeth? where does he get his water from? If it’s all schloppity schlop, how can he brush his teeth?
making those animals eat marshmellows are weird once you know what gelatin is made out of (copy and pasted from wikipedia “Gelatin is derived from pork skins, pork, and cattle bones, or split cattle hides.“)
melvin, where did you go?
wait, how does the onceler even shower in that lurkim?
how does he even breathe out there?
what lives did onceler’s family live after they dumped him?
what kind of a name is “onceler”?
how did onceler fit all of that stuff into his wagon?
i wonder if the lorax story will get remade again far in the future. i’d totally watch an extended version of this movie (mainly having “how bad can I be” events being put into more detail). seeing some of the cut-songs being fully animated would be cool (though the remake will probably be made by a different studio, so probably not happening)
how long does a thneed last for? does anyone in thneedville still have a thneed?
if the onceler is so tall, is most of the papparazzi photos of him from unflattering angles?
how many photoshoots did that dude do?
did he still sing and dance when he was famous?
how many people knew about o’hare’s blatant creepy cameras everywhere?
if the onceler wasn’t successful, would he just lived in that forest forever, or would he move on to another crazy idea of his?
how did thneedville become surprisingly self-sufficent? I don’t know if they have any plane-runways (especially since there is so much smog, it’s not gonna be easy to fly there) or if anyone drives to there, so is everything in thneedville produced in thneedville?
why are there no guardrails on the stairs in once-ler buildings?
if the once-ler is so good at building stuff, to what extent did he try to reverse the mess he made?
how did the onceler lack the forsight of planting more trees? what happened?
why does he need a grandfather snail? does he eat them?
how old is a lorax really? is he really “as old as time itself”? what did he do while he was up in the sky?
did as many people fawn over the once-ler in universe as many people did in real life?
where did all the animals go while waiting for the forest to become good again?
who decided the once-ler could wear those tacky sunglasses that looked like they’re from a $2 shop? because whoever decided that, i love that decision, and I want those tacky glasses too.
if onceler upgraded from a single-neck guitar to a double-necked guitar, does that mean he had been improving his guitar playing skills?
does audrey become a famous artist? her mural was cooool!
how douchey/amusing (take your pick!) would it have been if the whole ted-redemption thing with the lorax coming back turned out to be a dream sequence from the onceler as he stares out from his lurkim onto the desolate field?
how much of the onceler’s crap did melvin have to put up with?
does the onceler ever take swimming lessons and learn how to swim?
have i mentioned how weird the onceler’s name is? I’ve been referring to him with a “the” so many times, as if a “onceler” is a common noun.
what began the onceler’s tendency to avoid being responsible for problems? as in, he tries to blame pipsqueak for the tree falling down, and when the last tree fell down, he said to the animals approaching “look, i don’t want any trouble”?
What are the lawyers denying?
what was the onceler-family dynamic before and after he left? did they like his guitar playing? what’s up with that rusty car? we all see that the onceler is a very singy and dancey person out in the forest, but was he like that at home?
how did he convince melvin to cross a desert? did he have any idea of which direction he should be heading at all, or was he just going all over the place?
are the animals in the truffula forest undiscovered species? does that mean the onceler invented the names for them in that cut song?
“yes, right after the musical number about the kid who kept interrupting the story and was never heard from again”. Uhhhhhhh… exactly what could’ve happened!?
can you kill a lorax? what does a cooked lorax taste like?

Hey so. The Lorax Movie but with Wizard101 classes
Onceler: Death wizard, he has an achromatic color scheme in the beginning and then destroys the entire Truffula Forest
Ted: Honestly don’t know? Could be a myth wizard like Norma, but I wanna say fire due to his color scheme + Life is considered in between fire and storm, which could connect him to Audrey
Audrey: Life wiz 100%, due to her love of nature
Norma: I wanna say a Myth wizard, since it’s in the same “spirit” classes like Life and Death are, and she talks about how to get to the Onceler
Lorax: He would be more like a life entity than a life wizard
O’hare: I wanna say either ice or storm, due to the air/weather symbolism. Ice has high defense like his bodyguards, but low offense in attack. Storm has weaker health, but stronger offense (also like his bodyguards)

Blog post #2 - The Lorax
The Lorax by Dr. Seuss (Book)
The Lorax (2012) by Chris Renaud (Movie)
“Once upon a time in Thneedville, there was a kid named Ted who has a crush on his neighbor, Audrey. Every day, Ted tries to get the attention of Audrey. One day, Audrey shows Ted what Truffula Trees are like and how she wanted to have one in her backyard. Because of that, Ted set out to find a man named Onceler who knows how to get one and knows why the Truffula trees disappeared. Because of that, Ted came back to the Onceler every day until the Onceler gave him the last Truffula seed for him to plant in the middle of the town. Because of that, the mayor, who earns by polluting the environment and by selling clean air, assigned his bodyguards to stop Ted from plating a Truffula tree. Until finally, Ted was able to avoid the bodyguards and was able to convince the people that planting trees are worth a try. And ever since then, the air got clearer, the smog disappeared, and trees filled Thneedville.”
(Time) The book was only three pages long so you would be able to finish it in one seating. The storytelling was direct to the point, and it did not have unnecessary fillers that bores the audience. The movie’s total running time is an hour and a half, which was okay since it covered everything and did not leave out details that would be substantial to the story.
(Depth) Although the movie looks surreal and cartoony, it actually symbolizes a valuable life lesson for the viewers: which is to care for our environment. “ It has a societal impact because you can see the effects of humans abusing the earth’s resources. “We cannot reap what we don’t sow.“ (Immersion)It makes you realize how bad our actions are towards our environment. We continuously get resources for our needs but does not help in sustaining and replacing it. The movie comes to a point where clean air is bottled and is sold, and it makes you think twice that it could be possible if we continue to be ignorant to the environmental issues we have.
(Imagination) The first time I read the book, I pictured the Truffula trees and the Lorax differently. I thought of the trees to be normal looking–tall, big, and green. And the Lorax, a short man with a white beard. More of like a “duwende” or an elf. Dr. Seuss engages all of our senses with concrete imagery and is famous for his writing style which includes made up words to make the story sound appealing. This is also used to help rhyme the ends of sentences. Because of this, there are time when parts of the story left me confused. Sentences like, “where he makes his own clothes out of miff-muffered moof“ and “And, under the trees, I saw Brown Bar-ba-loots/frisking about in their Bar-ba-loot suits /as they played in the shade and ate Truffula Fruits.“ I think this kind of writing style can be very open to many interpretations for different people, most especially kids. It helps them develop their imagination through the creative use of wordplay with the combination of playfulness.
(Movement) The story was delivered well because it was presented through songs and is heavily supported by visuals. Even though it was told through flashbacks, the story was smooth and consistent. It is not confusing to the viewers.
(Reality) When I watched the movie afterwards, it helped in creating a clearer and standard picture for everyone. It showed what Bar-ba-loots, Swomee-swans, and Truffula trees looked like and how they played their part in the story. It made the story come to life.

Synopsis Based on the hit 1992 film starring Sarah Jessica Parker, and Nicholas Cage, Honeymoon in Vegas tells the story of mild-mannered Brooklynite, Jack, who haunted by the fear of a promise to his dying mother never to get married, avoids proposing to his new girlfriend Betsy. He finally summons the nerve and takes Betsy to Las Vegas only to have his plans compromised by a dashing gambler with an eye for luxury and Jack’s new fiancée.
The New York Times called the Broadway production “[a] bright and bouncy…real-live, old-fashioned, deeply satisfying Broadway musical in a way few new shows are anymore.”
Honeymoon in Vegas— book by Andrew Bergman and score by Tony-Award winning Jason Robert Brown (Parade, Songs For A New World, The Last Five Years and The Bridges of Madison County) — ran on Broadway at the Nederlander Theatre –this concert will see it performed in London for the very first time.
The 30-strong London Musical Theatre Orchestra will take to the London Palladium stage on 12th March 2017 under the baton of its first guest conductor, the show’s composer Jason Robert Brown, to honour the stylish and swinging score of Honeymoon in Vegas which marks another much anticipated UK Premiere for the orchestra.
Jason Robert Brown said: “Honeymoon in Vegas is the show I always aspired to write. All of these sounds – the swing, the samba, the disco, the boogie, the rock’n’roll – make up what I hear in my head when I think of what a ‘Broadway musical’ should be. I’m so gratified to have actually written it, and thrilled to get a chance – finally! – to present it in London. And to know that the music will be brought to life by the sterling musicians of the LMTO and a glorious cast is such a delight and a privilege. I’ve had so many sensational experiences in the British theater that it feels like coming home. I cannot wait to get started!”
In keeping with the long term aim of the LMTO, the fully orchestrated concerts aims to not only make orchestral performances accessible to brand new audiences, but also to bring the exciting repertoire of musical theatre to a more classical audience.
