Holding back the chuckle at watching Loki imitate him is hard. Hard enough that he completely fails at suppressing his smile if the look Natasha gives him is anything to go by.

He can’t help it though. He tries to tell himself it's because he’s bone tired. When that doesn’t work, he attributes it to the fact that he hasn’t been awake in this century for very long, which is also a load of shit as far as excuses go.

In reality, he just has a weakness for snarky dark haired men. This one though, Bruce was right, his brain is a bag of cats and you can smell the crazy on him.

The file Loki places on Steve’s doorstep is thick, but not as thorough as he would have liked. He knows there is more information to be found, but uncovering it will require more time and effort.

His thoughts are cut short by the door opening and Steve blinking at him in surprise.

They talk over each other, both stopping to smile awkwardly. Steve is wearing light colored jeans and a too-tight gray shirt with the sleeves pushed up. He looks good, better than the last time Loki saw him at the Smithsonian.

He’s hesitant to take the invitation to enter, suddenly nervous about what he is about to give Steve.

(under the danger of sounding silly, I'm laughing because it can be either probability of doing something OR "tin can", may the month and "might" as "power")

Hmm, not a pairing I've ever written for. :/ Not sure it came through well.

Can, May, Might

The most frustrating thing about the Captain of the Guard was how damnably earnest he was. 'Yes, ma'am, I will do that,' and 'no, sir, I'm not capable of that,' and 'well, I'm not making a decision until I'm certain about that, Thor.' Absolutes. No wiggle room. The patience of a saint and the wrath of a demon. A man with integrity. Steven--it meant 'that which surrounds,' and he did, holding what he held dear close, and holding everything else at arm's length, suspicious.

Loki loathed him. He'd actually considered making Steve the focal point of his pranks, up until he'd gone to the smithy to have some jewelry made and he'd seen Steve swinging a shield at his favorite smith. Tony, of course, had met the swing with a feral snarl, gauntleted hand swinging up to knock the shield off course so that the edge missed his face by centimeters. Loki was still sure, to this day, that they would have continued fighting if he hadn't stepped up and cleared his throat loudly. He still wasn't sure why it had worked, except that he noticed most people broke up fights between Steve and Tony like that regularly.

In any case. Loki had dropped the idea of pranking Steve like a hot potato, because he knew that if Steve had no problem engaging in fights with Tony (who the castle agreed was probably mostly feral and only tolerated because he could be cowed with sweets and made the most delicate chainmail in all the realms), Steve would have absolutely no qualms simply grabbing Loki and pitching him out the nearest window. And since Loki had stabbed Thor recently, he probably wouldn't protect him.

"Are you sure you don't hate him because he can see right through you?" Tony asked around a mouthful of honeyed roll.

"Don't talk with your mouth full. And I want silver jewelry this time," Loki scolded.

"Look better in gold," Tony muttered, and did not stop talking with his mouth full. "I was there, you know. When you told him you might have work for him."

Loki wrinkled his nose at him. "Anthony, that's unbecoming. And I have no idea what you're talking about."

"He told you not to bother him until you were sure whether you had work for him or not," Tony said around another bite, undeterred.

"I am begging you to swallow before you speak to me again," Loki finally admitted.

Tony stared up at him, considering, before very obviously swallowing. "I know you're a weaver of lies and everything, but there's no shame in admitting you need to be fucked, Loki."

Loki stared back at him, shocked stupid. It took him several minutes to even begin to comprehend what he'd been told, so long that Tony finished his roll and was picking through his tools to find the ones he wanted for the delicate wire earrings Loki had requested. Finally, he spluttered, "I do not want Steve to fuck me!"

Tony peered up at him skeptically before going back to his perusing. "Then why do you keep bothering him? You spin your delicate webs of words around him, and he crashes through them like they aren't even there. Your flowery words mean nothing unless there's intent, and they never will, so why are you so bothered about it?"

"I'm not bothered. And I don't want Steve to fuck me," Loki hissed, and did not blush, but only because he'd trained himself out of it when he'd realized that Tony was just as skilled at spinning those 'delicate webs of words' as he was.

Tony turned to look at him again, staring, considering. Then his lips spread into a wide smile, eyes glittering with mischief. "Why, your highness, with all your protests, one might think you have feelings for Steven."

"I don't," Loki refuted immediately.

"One may even say... your affections lie in his direction."

"Stop it," Loki hissed, eyes narrowing at him.

Tony smiled like a cat who got the cream. "Oh? But one can never know about these things, not with the prince of mischief himself denying it--"

"I should have let Steven decapitate you," Loki groused.

Tony's smile dropped like a stone. "You have so little faith in me?"

"Why was he so angry at you, anyway," Loki asked, changing the subject hurriedly.

"I blew his best friend's arm off during a friendly spar," Tony replied.

Loki said nothing. Whatever he was expecting, that wasn't it, and he must be telling the truth, with how blasé he was about it. He wasn't entirely sure what his face was doing, but he knew he was horrified.

"I made him a new one, I don't know why everyone keeps looking at me like that," Tony groused when he noticed Loki's expression. "He's not even mad anymore."

"Tony I mean this with all the affection I posses for you, because you're one of my few true friends," Loki said. "But what the fuck."

"I MADE HIM A NEW ONE," Tony snapped, and Loki wisely decided to leave before he said 'ideally, you shouldn't have to make people new arms.'

"What if I said I... wanted to spar with you?" Loki asked, then immediately regretted it, because he did not want to spar with Steve and he was certain that Steve would simply chuck him out of the ring, unhindered by any flashy feints Loki might offer.

"I'd say that's a weird way to ask for me to sock you directly in the nose," Steve replied, not looking up from trying to coax a bilgesnipe to trust him with a piece of mutton. "What do you want? I'm trying to train this bilgesnipe to sneak into Thor's room and make a nest in his closet."

"You'd have better luck with sweets. Tony takes after bilgesnipes that way, too," Loki said after watching Steve make absolutely no progress after ten minutes (mostly because he was considering how to say what he wanted to say, but also because he could not believe that Steve could be so smart in battle but could not best a fucking bilgesnipe).

"I'm telling him you said that," Steve replied, still not looking at him. Finally, he sighed, turning his head to look at him. "What do you want, Loki?"

"...I... might want you to fuck me," Loki said, wondering if it looked like he looked as pained as he sounded.

"...If you can help me get this bilgesnipe into Thor's room, I might say yes," Steve replied.

Loki looked at the bilgesnipe and clicked his tongue. "Myrtle, come."

The bilgesnipe finally heaved itself to its feet and made its way over.

"What the fuck I've been trying to bribe that thing forever," Steve hissed, offended.

"Steven, my mother raised this bilgesnipe from a pup. Of course I know how to get it to do things," Loki told him snidely. "Especially to go into Thor's room and make a nest in his closet. That was child's play. I literally trained her to do that as a child."

"Why doesn't she do it more then?" Steve asked skeptically.

"Because I'm no longer a child. Now I just randomly steal his drapes or rip out every other stitch in his shirts," Loki replied, and smiled when Steve couldn't help but bark out a startled laugh.

Another rare Loki ship that I love is Loki/Steve Rogers, I mean Loki seems kind of obsessed with the guy and who can blame him. He has also turned into Steve in the movies twice too. Besides I think that these two would be rather adorable.

Infinity War Fix-It!

Thanos is defeated with some unexpected help from Loki, who brings an army, but must pay the price for it. Steve finds himself keeping an eye on Thor for Loki, and when Loki returns he gets more and more involved with this messy family.

For the price Loki has to pay is becoming a father, and all the progress the brothers made in the wake of Ragnarok is under threat as parenthood stirs up all sorts of ugly emotions.

Steve would honestly like to leave them to it, he has his own life to lead, his own friends and job, but something keeps pulling him back. Maybe it's the fact that the brothers are the ultimate drama to bear witness to, maybe it's out of loyalty to Thor, or maybe it's something to do with the fact that despite all the terrible things Loki has done... there's just something that intrigues Steve about him against both of their wills.

Loki had the tiny black kitten cradled close to his chest. Ever since they'd rescued it that morning from a puddle, Steve had known it was now a permanent resident in their apartment.

Steve sat down beside him, reaching out to stroke the tiny animal, being careful not to wake it up.  

"So… we have a cat now?" Steve asked, draping his arm around Loki's shoulders.  

"It would appear that way, yes���" Loki replied.  "I couldn't bear to turn it out again…" He sounded almost apologetic.

"Wouldn't expect you to…" Steve said, his thumb stroking Loki's arm. "He lives here, now."

How quickly did/will they fall in love? - It wasn’t an easy start, they have a history. But the mind gem connected them long after their connection to the scepter was broken. 

How was their first kiss? - World shattering, at least for Steve; even with the mind gem’s influence. It wasn’t his first kiss, but the events afterward were. 

WEDDING:

Who proposed? - Steve did, on Christmas Eve.

Who is the best man/men? - Bucky or Nat would be Steve’s best man/woman.

Who is the braid’s maid(s)? - Given his inexplicable jealousy, Steve does NOT want it to be Fandral.

Who did the most planning? - Steve secretly enjoyed the artistry of it, but he left most of the choices up to Loki.

Who stressed the most? - Steve probably stressed the most, worrying and striving to live up to someone worthy of Loki. 

How fancy was the ceremony? - Steve wouldn’t want something extremely flashy, but he would also want to celebrate his love with Loki. Something traditional and elegant, but not loud enough that it would drown out what was important: his relationship with Loki.Back of a pickup truck | 2 | 3 | 4 | Normal Church Wedding | 6 | 7 | 8 | 9 | Kate and William wish they were this big.

Who was specifically not invited to the wedding? - Steve wouldn’t want Fandral there (Again, stupid jealousy) and Loki wouldn’t want Thor, so in the end the compromise and both of them attend the wedding. Steve makes it sure everyone knows that if Odin shows up he’ll be getting a shield bash to the face (regardless of the repercussions). 

SEX:

Who is on top? - They don’t have set roles. It depends on their mood, Loki’s form, what they want in the moment… Steve loves it all!

Who is the one to instigate things? - At the beginning, with the influence of the mind gem, Steve does. When he is ‘himself” again, they’re both timid. It isn’t until Steve is more confident in terms of his ability and Loki’s feelings that he insticates more often. Now in a stable relationship, it’s a flip of the coin.

How healthy is their sex life? - I would say it is very healthy. They are considerate of one another and their needs.Barely touch themselves let alone each other | 2 | 3 | 4 | Once a couple weeks, nothing overboard | 6 | 7 | 8 | 9 | They are humping each other on the couch right now

How kinky are they? - Sex is about expressing their feelings for one another, for Steve it is about Loki, about how he can make Loki feel. Sex is a new adventure for Steve, but it is one he’s highly curious about traveling. And lets face it… it is Loki! Do they make sure each person gets an equal amount of orgasms? - For Steve, sex is about his partner’s pleasure. If Loki has more orgasms than him, that doesn’t much matter. That being said, Loki is attentive, and has a wicket talent for driving Steve to the brink.

How rough are they in bed? - Softer than a butterfly on the back of a bunny | 2 | 3 | 4 | The bed’s shaking and squeaking every time | 6 | 7 | 8 | 9 | Their dirty talk is so vulgar it’d make Dwayne Johnson blush. Also, the wall’s so weak it could collapse the next time they do it.

How much cuddling/snuggling do they do? - Steve is an utter cuddle bug!!!No touching after sex | 2 | 3 | 4 | A little spooning at night, or on the couch, but not in public | 6 | 7 | 8 | 9 | They snuggle and kiss more often than a teen couple on their fifth date to a pillow factory.

CHILDREN:

How many children will they have naturally? - Loki has had a rough history with how his children have been treated. Steve would love to have as many children as Loki wants, but he also isn’t willing to risk his husband’s health both physically and mentally. 

How many children will they adopt? - Even though they aren’t Earth born, Steve would be honored to adopt Loki’s own children. If Loki doesn’t want to give birth to children, Steve wouldn’t mind adopting either. But again, it would depend on if Loki would be comfortable with that.

Who gets stuck with the most diapers? - I feel like both of them would be equaly atentive to their babies needs.

Who is the stricter parent? - Probably Steve. xD

Who stops the kid(s) from doing dangerous stunts after school? - Steve!!! “NO YOU CANT USE MAGIC TO TOSS THE BULLY INTO ANOTHER DEMENSION! YES, I KNOW I SAID TO ALWAYS STAND UP TO BULLIES, BUT THAT WASN’T WHAT I MEANT!”

Who remembers to pack the lunch(es)? - Probably Loki, but Steve would pay attention to it too.

Who is the more loved parent? - I feel like each kid would have their favorite, but they’d probably prefer Loki because he would dote on them so much.

Who is more likely to attend the PTA meetings? - Both of them would!

Who cried the most at graduation? - I think both of them would be really emotional. 

Who is more likely to bail the child(ren) out of trouble with the law? - Steve because he’d end up having to pull his Captain America strings xD

COOKING:

Who does the most cooking? - Probably Loki. Steve isn’t BAD in the kitchen, he can do the basics… but anything fancy? He’d burn it to death probably.

Who is the pickiest in their food choice? - Steve grew up in the depression, he’ll value the meal in front of him regardless of if he likes it or not. So, Loki would probably be the more picky of the two. Plus he’s an adorable diva so ;P

Who does the grocery shopping? - I feel like neither of them would go shopping… Loki would magically stock their kitchen – reality, Steve would probably go out with Loki’s shopping list.

How often do they bake desserts? - Steve has a massive sweet tooth, and regardless of if they bake it or not Steve makes sure to always have a stash of sugary sweets in the house.

Are they more of a meat lover or a salad eater? - Steve is a meat lover, at least cooked meat – he had enough of raw liver when he was a scrawny nothing. Loki is about decadence and what flavors best suit him in the moment.

Who is more likely to surprise the other(s) with an anniversary dinner? - Steve goes out of his way to surprise Loki even with small things.

Who is more likely to suggest going out? - Steve enjoys taking Loki out for a nice evening on the town. Not to mention the places Loki likes has really good food.

Who is more likely to burn the house down accidentally while cooking? - Probably Steve.

CHORES:

Who cleans the room? - Given his history with the military, Steve is neat and tidy and prefers to clean. So he often does.

Who is really against chores? - Probably the kids, if they have any. But between the two of them, Loki is more likely to be against them since Steve enjoys cleaning.

Who cleans up after the pets? - Steve. Coyle was his dog from the beginning, he is Steve’s responsiblity.

Who is more likely to sweep everything under the rug? - Again, probably their kids if there are any. But between Steve & Loki, it would be Loki.

Who stresses the most when guests are coming over? - Depends on the guests. :D Steve’s guests it is Loki who worries, if they are Loki’s friends Steve stresses.

Who found a dollar between the couch cushions while cleaning? - Steve xD

MISC:

Who takes the longer showers/baths? - Steve learned to tkae quick showers in the army. It is just a habbit he’s kept even now (unless he has an excuse to stay longer ;p ) So, Loki would probably take long beautiful bubble baths.

Who takes the dog out for a walk? - Steve, but sometimes he talks Loki into going with him.

How often do they decorate the room/house for the holidays? - For Chritsmas? Steve goes crazy. It’s the one time of year he insists they do something. He doesn’t go too crazy, a tree and stockings for each of them (including Coyle).

What are their goals for the relationship? - I think they’re meeting their goals. Steve wants to spend the rest of his life with Loki – however long that will be. They’re engaged, they’re planning their future. 

Who is most likely to sleep till noon? - If Steve doesn’t have a mission, if he’s in their home and sleeping with Loki Steve could sleep al day. 

Who plays the most pranks? - Uh, Loki…. God of Mischief and all ;P
