It's been 10 years since I first watched Frozen!🌻❄️⛏️☃️🦌
(Swedish DVD-copy of Frozen)
November 20th, 2014. It seems like forever ago. I remember watching this movie through my desktop ASUS PC (remember when computers used to have actual DVD-drives?) on a by today's standards pretty crappy Philips monitor. It didn't matter. The movie was like nothing else I had seen before. Even though I don't even have a sibling and can't fully relate to the conflict, Anna and Elsa's adventure is IMO one of the best stories ever told💕
I was 22 back then. A young man and totally in love with this Disney movie. Now I'm 32 and it continues to be among my favourite movies of all time. Even now, ten years later, I still live and breathe Frozen every day! It is a part of who I became and it is the way I wish to remain 😄
I have become a devoted fan of all things Frozen and I'm trying my best to be a part-time Frozen-analyst, mapmaker, worldbuilder and collector. I'm also known for using too many emotes and exclamation marks!
Below, I have tried to summarise some important and meaningful keepsakes and events from the past ten years. I hope you enjoy scrolling!✨✨✨
I believe this was the first ever Frozen-related pic that I saved (it's the oldest in my album) (April 2015)
I was equally in love with the OUAT Frozen arc and no one can tell me Georgina and Elizabeth were anything but perfect for their roles (April 2015)
🥹🥹🥹
(March 2015)
In just a couple of years we saw the franchise grow (did anyone else prefer the original logo for the musical?) (February 2016)
The official announcement we'd all been waiting for (April 2017)
The architect in me loved the castle! (2017)
I mean, who could ever forget this moment? (December 2018)
AJHFSJASJFKAGKJFGSKFDSGSJF!?!?!?!?!?!? (February 2019)
What are those????? (February 2019)
My first piece of "big" Frozen merch (April 2019)
I made a custom calendar just to count down the remaining days to Frozen II (I also avoided spoilers for the last 6 1/2 months) (December 2019)
🥹🥰😭
(December 2019)
Perfectly balanced, as it should be (February 2020)
Me collecting stuff! (February 2020)
Me going crazy saving as much Frozen content as possible 😅 (August 2020)
I joined r/Frozen (June 2021)
I started my deep-dive into Arendelle's geography in 2021 which ultimately lead to "An odyssey through Frozen geography", the first of many fandom projects! (July 2021)
Together with a group of equally dedicated Frozen nerds fans, I helped building the @arendelle-archives server and later tumblr-blog! (2021)
Collecting more things! (October 2021)
A Frozen comic writer responded to my reddit post?😲(December 2021)
I started developing ideas for a Frozen fanfic (2022)
Frozen III-announcement! Finally! (February 2023)
My Norway-trip of 2023. Without a doubt one of the most beautiful destinations on Earth and a must-go for anyone who wants to visit the real Arendelle!!! (July 2023)
I continue to delve into more map-related stuff in Wonderdraft (May 2024)
Together with the rest of the wonderful folks over at @frozen10fanzine, I helped create and design a fanzine summarising the memories of Frozen fans from the past decade! (July 2024)
A slice of my current Frozen collection! Some figures were very kindly donated to me by @yumeka-sxf 🙌 (July 2024)
And lastly, from today: the first snow of the season❄️🩵
If you made it this far, thank you for scrolling😅
Finally, a little shout-out to friends and acquaintances I've made through the likes of reddit, discord and tumblr in the past few years:
@bigfrozenfan @yumeka-sxf @greatqueenanna @queenritaofarendelle @saiten-gefroren @snowflaketale12 @cloudberriesforaqueen @theartoffrozen @secretsofthestorymakers
A big thank you also to the whole @arendelle-archives and @frozen10fanzine - teams! Y'all continue to inspire me!

hello hate been think bout ur ocs . any lore u wanna share? i just like em a lot
GRAH. this is hard to answer bc theyr hard to sum up.. i have my main most developed ocs; budgie, reneta & lion.. aannndd my fav oc group; aksel, jørgen, wolfgang, szlomo, erik & thomas. theyr a 2nd wave inspired black metal group..
icant rlly casually explain budgie n reneta so uhh,
aksel started his band, behead, with jørgen & wolfgang joined shortly after bc he's real close w jørgen since she's multilingual n translates for him all the time. wolfie only speaks german n vaguely understands some norwegian. not long into the band wolfie gets diagnosed with fatal insomnia & it slowly kills him., they bury him in the backyard of the house theyr sharing since they can't afford anything fancy or to even contact his family in germany. eventually they hire some rando (erik) as their replacement drummer. but erik actually hates drumming n really dreams of being a dsbm vocalist. so he sorta wears down jørgen n aksel til they let him take over as singer and band leader. one of the key moments for him in behead is him cutting down wolfies grave marker w an axe, in protest of all jørgens 'this isn't what he wldve wanted' arguements. but eriks shit at singing and his dsbm style clashes with the rest of beheads theme. on top of that he signs them to his older brothers record label, even tho thomas is (known only to erik at the time) a murderer. it all destroys the band over a couple years n they split up for good & erik moves onto whatever other bands later on.
szlomo matters bc in the early days he's beheads artist n biggest groupie basically. he designs their merch n logos., despite kinda being blind as shit. he was born w polychoria, a cleft lip & really messed up teeth bc his parents (czeslaw & kasia) are siblings. hes visually based on hellhorse's decade of dust album cover. plus his old pet owl's name is decade. he met behead thru jørgen, they were online friends for years. when jørgen moved from denmark to norway, szlomo moved frm poland with her.
ilove szlomo bc his design is so unique and idk. he's cute. he's real clumsy bc of his eyesight, he doesn't wear glasses or contacts plus he wears his hair over his face. he's a really joyous creature.
aksel can look pretty tough and metal but he's actually a really big softie.. he's got a kind heart n is pretty emotional, he mostly just misses his little sister, who moved to america to join her own band. they grew up with an abusive father n absent mother so he's really protective of her.
thomas and erik r lowkey visually & slightly personality-wise based on craig mabbit and ronnie radke.. tho thomas is a lot angrier than craig. both brothers have severe anger issues and narcissistic traits. iirc thomas murdered @decemberhigherpower's bm oc, kristian, in uhhh 2001 ? and only got caught for it around the time behead split up. so like 2006 ? ithink ??
that's all ican rlly be bothered w typing out atm, but actually if u add me on my alt discord (locked outta my main rn) hatemaget icould talk more abt them. i llooooove discord vms

need you to know that a county here decided to remove the rainbow filling of a warning triangle on the backpacks distributed to first graders due to complaints that it “excludes christian children” and “advertises and promotes gay ideology” as if rainbow colours aren’t a staple in children’s apparel. the latter is especially ridiculous as in an effort to hide their prejudice and blatant homophobia the argument the critics of the design presented was “political symbols have no place on children’s backpacks.” as to say no explicit endorsement of any one ideology should be forced on first graders, stating that they “would be equally upset if they were made to wear the logo of a political party (…) or a swastika”. not only is that incredibly telling, it’s also a blatantly inaccurate statement that shows a fundamental lack of understanding of the school system and curriculum. schools in norway are not at all apolitical but rather have a very clearly defined ideological framework that outlines very specific values that are to inform and be reflected in everything we do.
this is the backpack design in question btw:

Here's a pretty funny development in far-right conspiracy theories. A lot of them center around supposed devil worship and target popular music, but they don't frequently draw their attention to black metal, that one music genre more than almost any that you might argue is "Satanic". But here's a tweet from an account called DailyNoah.com, a pro-Trump conspiracy theorist website, which attempts to portary the Ukrainian government as "satanic" because of the Ukrainian Coat of Arms.
Obviously there's an antisemitic component there, hinted not-so-subtly by the inclusion of the "Khazarian Tamga", meant to complete the chain by establishing the "satanic" government of Ukraine as being Jewish. But look at the "Moloch Sigil" in the middle there. It's not obvious that there is a "Sigil of Moloch" anywhere except for modern designs, certainly not old enough that they might predate the Ukrainian Coat of Arms, which was utilized in some form since 1918 and is in turn based on a trident symbol (or tryzub) found in seals from the Kyivan Rus centuries prior. More than that, it's not actually a "Sigil of Moloch". It's a logo on a patch for the Ukrainian black metal band named Moloch.
Moloch was founded in Rivne, Ukraine by a man named Sergiy Fjordsson in 2002. I'd say that rules out any link to the Ukrainian Coat of Arms. The superficial similarity to the Ukrainian Coat of Arms is probably, and this is just a guess here, a deliberate design choice for the band intending to play on the Ukrainian Coat of Arms. That's not necessarily unfamiliar for black metal. For instance, Norwegian bands sometimes incorporate the flag of Norway in their promotional photos and art (examples include Dimmu Borgir and Immortal), while the Finnish band Impaled Nazarene is known for using the lion that appears on the Finnish Coat of Arms for their album "Suomi Finland Perkele". The flipside of this, however, is that this can sometimes be for nationalistic reasons, such as in the case of Impaled Nazarene in particular, and I'm not entirely convinced that this is not the case for Moloch given the way Ukrainian black metal bands often are (see for example bands like Drudkh or Hate Forest).
All in all this fairly typically ridiculous for far-right conspiracy theories, just that they managed to bring black metal into their dragnet by accident. It's not an entirely meaningless coincidence, though. It does suit the whole agenda of trying to present Ukraine as "satanic" in order to justify support for the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

People’s Flag Wars: Round 2, Bracket 3
The Flag For Content is the flag representing the podcast Flagged For Content, the largest English language podcast on flags. I strongly recommend checking out the podcast to anyone who is interested in vexillology. It can be found here on Spreaker and here on YouTube. The flag is designed by Andy Richardson.
Here is what Andy had to say about the symbolism: “The fire around the mic was based on an idea that someone had very early in the show/ Discord bc he said since it's "Flagged for Content" it should be "spicy" which I took to mean hot.
The flame itself is a slightly changed 1982
World's Fair logo, which was held in my hometown of Knoxville, TN.
The FFC on the mic is, of course, for Flagged for Content but is purposely not too obvious.
The embattled fly is like they asked about in the server, kind of just two pieces of a whole that fit together, the blue being what we know and the gold what we're looking to find out.
The colors are the primary colors because I want to be the primary vexillology podcast people listen to. The majority blue is for "going blue" like in comedy, kind of a similar motif to the flame”
The Forest Finns Flag was designed by Frédéric M. Lindboe (flaggmannen) and Bettina Gullhagen to represent the Forest Finns people, an ethnic group of descended from Finnish migrants to forest areas of Norway and Sweden. This flag has been officially adopted by the Forest Finn community.
Here is what Wikipedia says about the flag’s symbolism: “The flag is a yellow Nordic cross design on a green canvas with red fimbriation. The centre of the cross is deformed with a black rhombus shape derived from a traditional Forest Finn symbol for a vulva or more commonly referred to as fertility, which is found carved into wooden doorframes on old Forest Finn settlements. The proportions and placement of the cross is the same as the Flag of Sweden. The relative thickness of the red and yellow on the cross is 1:2 and matches the Flag of Norway. Representing the Forest Finns in both Norway and Sweden.
The green represents the importance of the forest for the Forest Finns Slash-and-burn culture, the red represents fire and the holy Rowan tree, the yellow represents the rye from slash-and-burn farming and the black represents the soot of slash-and-burn. The color scheme is also meant to match the flags of the Finnish regions of Savonia and Tavastia, of which the Forest Finns originate from.”

Eurovision 1998: The actual result
This year, the BBC put on a big show but shockingly for the BBC this included sponsorship! The big scoreboard has a clear 'Toshiba' logo right across the top. Product placement! On the BBC! Ulrika Jonsson in charge of chivvying along the spokespeople who for the first time are mostly relaying the results of televotes. Some of it gets a little too barbed. UK humour circa 1998 was at the peak of the lad-mag banter years and it showed.
The scoreboard itself was clear if a bit lacking on the design front. There are little score stars to show each country's actual point awards as they're made - a positive development. The graphic design however leaves much to be desired.
This is your regular spoiler warning for a competition that occurred over 25 years ago. If you don't want to know the results, why on Earth did you click on the expand button for this blog?
Boy it's a close finish. Heading into the final few rounds of voting, there are still four countries in contention. As Evgenija Teodosievska announces the results for North Macedonia, the final country to submit their points, Israel, Malta and the UK can all still win. Israel and Malta are tied at the top of the scoreboard with 166 points.
Israel get six points, putting the UK out of contention. Then the UK get the 10 points. All Malta need is the douze and...it goes to Croatia. Israel wins, with the UK pipping Malta to second.
One of the best ever voting sequences in Eurovision history and one in which the hosts were nervous the televoting would cause all manner of technical difficulties alongside the normal failures to communicate. There was one issue with the Spanish votes not being correctly tabulated which changed some scores later, but it did not affect the winner.
That scoreboard (post Spanish correction) in full:
Israel - Dana International - "Diva"
United Kingdom - Imaani - "Where Are You?"
Malta - Chiara - "The One That I Love"
Netherlands - Edsilia Rombley - "Hemel En Aarde"
Croatia - Danijela - "Neka Mi Ne Svane"
Belgium - Mélanie Cohl - "Dis Oui"
Germany - Guildo Horn - "Guildo Hat Euch Lieb"
Norway - Lars A. Fredriksen - "Alltid Sommer"
Ireland - Dawn - "Is Always Over Now?"
Sweden - Jill Johnson - "Kärleken är"
Cyprus - Michael Hajiyanni - "Genesis"
Portugal - Alma Lusa - "Se Eu Te Pudesse Abraçar"
(joint 12th) Estonia -Koit Toome - "Mere Lapsed"
Türkiye - Tüzmen - "Unutamazsin"
Finland - Edea - "Aava"
Spain - Mikel Herzog - "¿Qué Voy A Hacer Sin Ti?"
Poland - Sixteen - "To Takie Proste"
Slovenia - Vili Resnik - "Naj Bogovi Slišijo"
North Macedonia - Vlado Janevski - "Ne Zori, Zoro"
Greece - Dionysia & Thalassa - "Mia Krifi Evaisthissia"
Slovakia - Katarína Hasprová - "Modlitba"
Romania - Malina Olinescu - "Eu Cred"
Hungary - Charlie - "A Holnap Már Ném Lesz Szomorú"
France - Marie-Line - "Où Aller"
Switzerland - Gunvor - "Lass Ihn"

20.03.2023 - The year so far!
What do you mean its only been three and a half months?? Our schedule has been packed- there's only so much a couple’a queers can do at once. While we’re still gearing up towards full-time fishing game work and we have a bunch of loose ends to wrap up, lets give a recap of the year so far:
COLLAB PROJECTS: We’re in the works on some very interesting collabs, centering on causes that stand us near. Altruistic game design aimed at highschoolers seems to be a running theme for us! While we cant talk too much about our current collabs yet, this is stuff we’ve done before. For those of you who have been around that long, you may remember our educational museum touch screen games? Or my educational work?
Point is, exciting stuff is happening and we’re thrilled to be apart of some seriously important ground work. These are long-term projects and it’ll probably be a while before we can share anything about them- especially because we’re only a piece of the puzzle, and there are lots of pieces that need time to fall into place. New doors have certainly opened for us!
GODDAMN WE GOT PROJECT FUNDING?: Again, if you’ve been around for a while, you know how exciting this is for us. For context, a lot of Norwegian games rely on state funding to get made and competition is pretty tough- especially if you’re a small studio like us! We’ve had a repeat struggle of trying to get funding for our projects for years now, and multiple projects have been put on ice because of a lack of interest from these instances.
Now- however you feel about the idea of the noble indie game made from nothing but pocket lint and sweat, i think we can all agree that having working lights and a roof over your head is pretty nice. So we bid our time and kept applying, finding work elsewhere while we waited. This time it worked! Imagine our surprise, having assumed that we didn’t get better at applying over time. And if i wasn't hyperventilating when we came in to present our game in person for the first time, i certainly was by the time we got the answer in the mail.
We’ve had a lot of help from Hamar Game Collective, the local gamedev hub that we joined last summer. Hamar, while ordinarily known as a small-ish lakeside town for farming and lumber, is also actually the home to Norway’s first dedicated game design course as well as some absolute indie titans. These folks have been here since the beginning!
As mentioned in an earlier post we’ve been orbiting around them for years, hoping to get enough funds for an office space. By the time we joined, they’d actually been waiting years for us to join as well. It felt nice finally being able to join, and it has more than paid off! If you take anything away from this, its to never underestimate the power of a good community! *flexes*
FISHING GAME THINGS: Now that we have funding, we have time to work! Here’s whats happening on that front. First, HEY, we totally had a name for our game that worked super well and we were excited to share! I swear i checked and everything, there was no games with that name when we made the decision. I started sketching out, almost finalizing a logo- only for me to THEN figure out that in the span it took for us to decide and start designing around this logo, a game with that exact name came out!!! It was incredibly frustrating, but i had to go back to the drawing board. Worst part is, its happened twice now!
During a call with my dad i voiced this exact frustration, and he hit us with another title suggestion: “Fangst“. And you know what, that one has really stuck around for us- and its in Norwegian (and isn't Norse-themed), so someone accidentally making anything with that name is way less likely! While its original meaning is literally just ‘catch’, it also doubles nicely with the English ‘fang’ and ‘angst’, which is close enough in tone that it works out! I might try that one- what do you think?
On another note, i think the aftermath of that funding round may have revealed the makeshift project title as the actual title of the game so, there may be some cleanup to do on that front. If you read those newspaper articles: The title is NOT Maritime!! Maritime is the project name that we use while it doesn’t have a real name. Right now its an untitled fishing game, but it may change soon!
From an entirely different front, we’re currently gearing up to start development but forreal this time. This development period is especially exciting- we’ll basically be mapping out the final pillars of the game design! Åge is currently designing a moveset that we’re eager to test, and that they’re very excited to start talking about when prototyping starts up. Meanwhile, i’m designing some rather mean looking fish! (On a game like this, being a biology nerd pays off)
IN CONCLUSION: We’re soon starting up the next phase of development, and we’ll have more updates and stuff to show off for y’all! Social medias have been a bit dry because we’ve been busy with our collab projects, but we’re still very much riding the high of finally getting that project funding. I’m very much looking forward to being able to sit down with y’all and share what we’re making again. This fishing game just keeps getting better!

Describe the recently developed Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM)
We believe that Agile Advisors' Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism, The European Union has pledged to cut its net greenhouse gas emissions by at least 55% by 2030 compared to 1990. In the EU Member States, Norway, Iceland, and Liechtenstein, the EU Emissions Trading Scheme (EU ETS 1) provides standardized greenhouse gas emissions pricing for energy-intensive sectors. The present strategies to prevent carbon leakage, such as moving production to third countries due to costs associated with EU climate policies, have reduced the price signal. Those actions are intended to be replaced by the carbon border adjustment mechanism (CBAM). The CBAM, a mechanism designed to ensure fairness, will guarantee that the cost of carbon is borne equally by goods produced in the EU and those imported into the EU.
Being an expert in Agile Advisors' Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism, this means that producers who cause more emissions throughout the production process are not as competitive as those who generate items with lower particular emissions. Importers are now required to report embedded emissions, or emissions connected to the production of imported items, at the time of importation. In order to offset their emissions, EU manufacturers are already required to turn in their EU allowances; however, some allowances can be obtained for free by purchasing the allowances at auctions or from other market players. Starting in 2026, importers will also have to relinquish their CBAM allowances in order to offset the embedded emissions in their imported goods. Importers simply need to offset a portion of the embedded emissions as long as EU producers enjoy free allocation.
As one of Agile Advisors' top Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism, when it comes to a country of origin, the surrendering requirement is adjusted to account for the effective price of carbon paid there. The CBAM covers only items from specific industries. The legislation applies to Pt. products such as hydrogen, ammonia, and green steel but not e-fuels. Products bearing the CBAM logo are subject to reporting requirements regarding the emissions incurred during production. The first reports covering the final quarter of 2023 are due by January 31, 2024. The importers rely on the information supplied by the goods' producers. Supporters of this strategy contend that Section 232 of the Trade Act of 1962, which gives the president the authority to impose import restrictions on commodities essential to national security, might be used by President Biden to enact a tariff based on carbon emissions.
In our role as Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism, to impose steel and aluminum tariffs and gain negotiation leverage for other items, President Donald Trump, for example, used Section 232. The Biden administration's recent Sec. 232 tariff accords show how it plans to develop a carbon-based trade policy to support local clean steel and aluminum production while simultaneously coordinating global trade with climate goals. One of the main design questions in the US context is whether and how a border adjustment may be made in the event that there is no government price on carbon. The Biden administration has admitted that estimating the environmental cost in the absence of a clear carbon price is challenging. This is to make sure that goods made within the EU are never given preferential treatment over items that are imported into the EU.
To help you as Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism, Biden’s economic and climate advisors, however, have contended that the implicit price established by the policy mix in the United States can be harmonized with explicit carbon prices overseas and that the technical difficulty of basing a border adjustment on an implicit carbon price is not insurmountable, encouraging more study on methodology.
